MuVo USB Slightly Lo

Hi all.
Just bought myself a MuVo TX FM 256MB online and got it deli'vered today, and I'm loving it already - such an improvement from my Freecom Beatman Mini CD player!
However, I've got a question if someone would be so kind to help me out. I've noticed that when I pull the stick part out of the battery part, the USB connector on the stick part is a tiny bit loose - it's not falling out of it, but it can be wiggled a bit. Is this normal, or might this cause problems over time?
Hope you can help!
Take care,
Graham

Hi there!
Yes, there is a problem with the player. I suggest you to immediately get it replaced if it is under warranty.

  • Dead Muvo USB 2.0- Help Ple

    Hello All,
I have searched the forum and have not found a post with a similiar problem.
    MUVO 28 mb USB 2.0
    Latest Drivers
    Latest Firmware
The player will not turn on.
Multiple computers do not recognize player.
I have reinstalled drivers and firmware in the order specified and tried to reformat the player with no luck.
While attempting to reformat I receive the error:
    "Unable to Send SCSI Command.
SCSI Sense Code: device reported media error, allocation to large."
Running the firmware upgrade does turn on the Muvo's red light.
I have another MUVO TX USB 2.0 that both computers recognize.
    Help please.
    Thank You.

    Thank you for your reply.
Unfortunately, I have connected this device in recovery mode. The firmware recognizes the device in recovery mode, then searches for devices connected to the computer, that is when I recieve the error described above.

  • Probs with my creative MuVo usb

    hi,
I know this question was asked one time already,
BUT it was so censored that i can't read anything!!!!!!
I try about an hour to let this thing work again... but it doesn't work...
I read threads within was said to install the newest update, and install firmware(0-5 secs holding play/pause)
but when i try to install the firmware it says unable to write on devices....
i also cant format it with windows only quickformat works... but this is more or less useless...
so i hope s.o. can help me.. i don't want to use my mp3 player only for transporting data from one point to another!!
I WANT TO HEAR MY MUSIC!!!
    Greetz

Download the latest driver and firmware from the website. Install the driver file first. After you have install the driver, press and hold the PLAY button, continue holding the button while inserting the player into the USB port for about 0-5 sec. Run the firmware update file and tick the 'Format Data Area' check box and click on 'Start'.

  • MuVo: Two-Tier Director

Hi, i'm sure this is something that's been asked a million times before, but I'm a little confused about the Firmware upgrade i just did.
    It mentioned that the Firmware update;
"Improves track organization and playback with two-tier directory structure."
How does this work... I'd be grateful if someone would enlighten a novice , many thanks

I was trying to help, and you misread my answer. Using folders to store albums in *is* simply a really great way to organise them, I was trying to be helpful!
As I already said most MuVos do work with folders, and it is documented in the manual for *these* players. I assumed this was the case with the original MuVo (we also have the MuVo NX, MuVo TX, MuVo TX FM, MuVo USB 2.0, MuVo Slim, MuVo Micro N200, MuVo Sport C00, MuVo V200, MuVo? and MuVo? FM, so perhaps you can see it isn't quite that clear cut). I'm sorry that I couldn't fully answer your other questions, but that's no cause to be nasty to someone as any sensible person I'm sure would agree with.
I don't own many of the products that Creative sell, but I have helped and solved a lot of questions. Take a minute or two to actually look back over some of the posts I've made, and what others have said about my answers before you jump to your conclusions.

  • I can't for

i have a muvo usb 2.0. I was using it one day at work, when it was like every batter i put in it seemed dead. The red light kept blinking. Since that time, i haven't been able to format it, plus somehow my computer crashes now. I had read where if a button is pushed when it's plugged it that will format it also.

Still no help.......am i the only one this happens to when i first open it up, there is one song stuck on the player. i have downloaded everything.......and i do mean...........everything on that page, but still no help. At one point, it asked me to put the player in recovery mode. I have no idea how to do that.
Still no help! Does my reply not count?
Install drivers to PC first. For Rec Mode press and hold the Play button when connecting to the PC - keep held until New Hardware Wizard starts. Follow New Hardware Wizard instructions when connected.

  • No Mu

I put some music on my MuVo USB 2.0. I can see and play the music files in my Windows Media Player . I run Windows XP on my Dell. When I disconnect my MP3 player and turn it on it says: "No music". I don't understand what's wrong because I can see the Files on my computer.

    T-player,
See this other thread for more information. I believe you're having the same issue too.

  • Bluetooth Keyboard needed.

Can anyone please recommend a bluetooth keyboard to use on a Mac Mini. Ideally it should be compact but it must have a touchpad. I've tried a mini Chinese one from Amazon and also a wireless 2.4 one. Both were abysmal. It's for using on a sofa so knee friendly is a must.
    Anyone??
    Cheers.

Logitech has a couple of bluttooth keyboards designed specifically for Macs. The K811 is about the same footprint as the Apple Wireless keyboard but with batteries that can be recharged via USB, slightly deeper keys and arguably a better touch. The K750 is a full size keyboard complete with keypad and solar battery charging and almost half the price of the K811. but neither has a keypad or mouse. For me the K811 or Apple Wireless keyboard together with an Apple wireless Trackpad works very well on a Lapdesk.
One other item, if you get a wireless keyboard that takes regular batteries, I have been experimenting with the new Duracell Quantum batteries and so far they appear to be living up to their claim of being longer lasting. As a gesture toward the ecology, I tried Apple's rechargable batteries and found they had to be recharged so often I found them annoying to use.

  • Unknown USB Device when MuVo TX plugged in USB P

The following message came up when I plugged in my MuVo TX in a USB Port
    Using WIndows XP
    USB attached has malfunctioned
    Windows does not recognize it
    Unknown USB Device
Does this mean that I have a faulty player? When I first bought it on January 2 2005
I installed approx 25 songs and it works perfect. Now that I want to change these songs
to new ones, my MuVo TX is not recognized by Windows XP. Tried several other
    computers with same results.
Can any one suggest a fix?
    Thanks

If other PCs are giving the same error, then I think you can be sure the player is at fault somehow.
Have you tried the recovery process? Download the latest driver (if required) and firmware from http://www.nomadworld.com/downloads/drivers. Install the driver file (if required). After you have installed the driver, press and hold the PLAY button, continue holding the button while inserting the player into the USB port for about 0-5 sec. Run the firmware update file and check/tick the 'Format Data Area' check box and click on 'Start'.
If this doesn't help then I think you can be sure the player is faulty.

  • GRRR - MuVo won't play songs after it's removed from USB P

:robotmad:Just bought a Nomad MuVo for a X-mas gift for my daughter, and I can't get the songs to play after I've removed the player from the USB Port. WMA songs seem to download to player OK, as I can play them from the MuVo through the jukebox software that was included with the MuVo. However, as soon as I take it out of the computer and turn it on, the light quickly goes from green to red as if there are no files there. Windows Explorer shows that they ARE. I always use the "safely remove hardware" function. I've tried to solve this by:
    Reformatting the player</LI>
Removing the "settings.dat" file from the player</LI>
    Downloading/installing latest firmware</LI>
    Downloading/installing latest driver</LI>
None of the above has changed anything.
If it matters, the WMA files I'm trying to download were purchased from WalMart online.
    <PLEASE HELP!

Jason - I could kiss you!!! The Windows Media software worked!!!!
Call yourself Santa because the only thing my daughter wanted for X-mas was an MP3 player and gift cards for music to download online. The MuVo was the 2nd player I bought -first one was an unnamed cool-looking (but so far entirely useless and supportless) one from EBay. I've been wasting endless hours since November trying to get one or the other to work with downloaded DRM-protected WMA files. I don't know what I would've done without you!!!
However, I'm irritated that the Creative website inferred that if I downloaded the latest software/firmware, it would allow me to use DRM songs with their software. I would think that a ton of people are going to have this issue, and the Creative info tells you that you have to use the enclosed software. This issue should really be prominently posted in the troubleshooting section.

  • [MuVo Slim] Charging from USB p

    Hi
Over on the Nomadness MuVo forum someone asked about how to charge a MuVo Slim when away from their PC as it charges via the USB port.
I answered that if all they needed was a powered USB hub then they could buy an external, self-powered hub and then connect the player to it, without it being connected to a PC.
Would this work or does the player need to be connected to the PC for the charging cycle to begin? Or does it just need the power that the port supplies?
    PB

Yes, I also tried this with a CyberPower 420 MP USB hub that is battery powered with an on/off switch http://www.cyberpowersystems.com/CPH420MP.asp But even with that hub turned on, it would not charge the Slim unless I connected the hub to a PC.
I use the Zen Micro charger to charge my Slim when I'm not near a PC. I had read an SSR post on this board where he recalled that someone had said that combo (Slim and Micro charger) would work. The Zen Micro charger provides 000mA, which is high for a flash MP3 device (higher is good) from 5V. So I tried it and it has worked fine. (I had a Zen Micro as well as the Slim, so it cost me nothing extra.)

  • Muvo TX FM: is the 256mb slightly faster than the 512mb when switching modes?(and starting u

I was just wondering if the muvo tx fm 52 is slightly slower than the muvo tx fm 256 when switching modes ?
because i have the 52 and my dad has the 256 and i noticed there's a difference
both of them have the lastest firmware on them .5.0
both of them are reasonably full / capcaity close to full
when i switch from radio mode to music in folders mode : the transition between the two modes are smooth and immediate on the 256
but when i do this on my 52 : i seem to have to an extra second of waiting time before it goes back into music mode
yeah i know it's a bit nitpicky to bring such a thing up , but i thought it was strange that there would be a difference , since they're both the same model and firmware ( only a difference in capacity between the 2 )
this occurance didn't start to happen until i upgraded it recently to .5.0 ( when this occurance starting appearing )
or maybe it's just my 52 that does this ?
anyway another thing that's strange that i've tested :
if i do switch back to an older firmware version for my 52mb : this extra delay between switching modes is non-existant / goes away
( it was non-existant before i upgraded to the new firmware )
also another thing i've noticed is the 256 seems to be faster at starting up after turning on too
when i first turn it on , only takes till the /4 of the sand in the egg timer icon and drained to the bottom before it starts playing music
with the 52 , it doesn't start playing music until all the sand in egg timer icon has drained to the bottom ( a second longer wait before the music starts playing )
also another thing to note is that
the firmware that came with the 256 , was .5.0 ( bought in april )
i bought the 256 a couple of months ago
with my 52 , which i had since december : i've used firmware old firmware that came with that ( i think .0.04 ) ( until switching to the newest firmware recently )
i was just wondering what's calling this extra seconds worth of delay in my 52 , that's not present in the 256 ?Message Edited by low-quality on 07-04-2005 0:43 PMMessage Edited by low-quality on 07-05-2005 04:08 AMMessage Edited by low-quality on 07-05-2005 05:37 AMMessage Edited by low-quality on 07-05-2005 05:38 AMMessage Edited by low-quality on 07-05-2005 05:38 AMMessage Edited by low-quality on 07-05-2005 05:38 AMMessage Edited by low-quality on 07-05-2005 05:39 AMMessage Edited by low-quality on 07-05-2005 05:39 AMMessage Edited by low-quality on 07-05-2005 05:39 AMMessage Edited by low-quality on 07-05-2005 05:40 AMMessage Edited by low-quality on 07-05-2005 05:40 AMMessage Edited by low-quality on 07-05-2005 05:42 AM

Sounds like it could be because of the capacity difference, maybe a mod could confirm this.

  • Linux USB and Muvo V200 (uchi.o vs. ohci

    Hi
As a Linux fan I use my MuVo mainly on Linux computers to transfer MP3 files to and from it.
This all works fine (it appears as a VFAT/FAT6 dri've just fine) and I just use cp to copy
to or from it. (N.B. Mount it first with mount -t vfat -o rw /dev/sda /mnt/muvo )
However, my MuVo doesn't work on all my boxes and I am not sure why. My simpleton 256MB FAT6
usb pen dri've does work on all my Linux boxes though.
Anyway, in case it helps anyone, here are my experiences on my 4 Linux PCs:
These 2 PCs work with Muvo :-)
PC Runs RedHat 9 and uses uhci.o (and USB . only I think)
PC2 Fedora Core Linux and uchi.o
    These 2 PC's don't work with MuVo :-(
    PC3 Fedora Core and ohci.o
PC4 Debian Woody (up to date as as 20-Jan-2004)
So, it seems that the kernel module uhci.o favours the MuVo but the module ohci.o does not.
(The module used by a kernel is dependent on the mnotherboard chipset, so you have no choice
over which one to use for a given PC!)
Anyone any ideas as to what is wrong here?
Any help here would be much appreciated,
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi will,
Fortunatly for us, Linux Users, there are people like U!!
I was thinking in buying one USB Pen Dri've and audio player (MP3 & Radio).
When studying Creative products I was allmost buying it until I found there was NO support for Linux!!!! then I was afraid!!
I think I should buy another player!! no?
Now I now that I can buy Creative, tks to you, and maybe, just maybe, I'll do it.
I'm a researcher and on my work, I only use Linux. On my home I use both, WinXP (as a work station for me & my wife) and a Linux box (Debian) as Internet gateway, firewall, proxy, and stuff.
I need to have the Creative working on both!!! Linux and WinXP.
Do you think it is safe to buy Muvo N200 or TX FM?
    TKS!

  • Creative MuVo TX SE (1 GB) supports which USB 2.0 - type (low-,full-,highspeed

    Hi there!
I would like to buy this player, but there is one thing I am still thinking about.
This player supports USB 2.0, but which type?
I mean, there are players which *seem* to be fast, but they are only compatibel! to USB 2.0, so one can use it, but not at the expected speed (only at USB .).
There are 3 "speed types" of USB 2.0:
    lowspeed (,5 Mbit/s)
    fullspeed (2 Mbit/s)
    highspeed (480 Mbit/s)
And when the description of the Creative MuVo TX SE ( GB)is right, it should support highspeed, right?

Just noticed the last line of the firmware instructions:
    [*]<FONT color=#3333ff size=5>This firmware removes your player's FM recording feature.</LI>
Please make sure you are aware of this before using this firmware
