MuVo V200 C

My MuVo V200 just broke and now I see that there the one part is only fixed on _three very little_ points to the other part (I'm talking about the frontside and backside of the player/stick part). Do you have an explanation for this?!
I'm really disappointed!

Anyway has this question ever been answered... ? I doubt anyone from creative is assigned to watch this column... ? right Creative ?
I am having a similar experience in nature... my daughter realised that her v200 had a 'Crocodile Mouth" at one side, upon curious which I am glad relected from a "Teen', she realised that the mouth can easily be stretched quite wide, afraid that it may conveniently allows water entry, she had called Tech Support, replied is to bring the device to them for review.
I believe she "WAS' glad when they said so, but all is changed now as she had came to understand that nothing bought can be returned easily... they first conveniently claim that she might had dropped (as she honestly admitted she did dropped it once) and blamed the splitting mouth to the droppage... I had later phoned in to clarify that the incident occurred in my carpetted office location...
Then they suggested that they are willing to let her purchase a brand new set after taking back her ex v200 @ $45.00.. I later called them to explain my mathematical understanding that to take my device and topped up $45.00 means to say they are taking my device back, recondition it and sell it brand new while still making another $45.00 from me (The Sucker).. They then say that it is for documentation fees instead.. I then suggest looking at their warrantee obligation to us which was published publicly.. they argue that there are small prints that they are unable to show to public with regards to qualification to an exchange for faulty equipment, I requested but Creative had conveniently declined...
Anyway, I do not wish to create an issue over a PEANUT matter.. I would like to suggest that Creative at least publish clauses accordingly in order to educate users on the gray area of your warrantees... Service center was busy when my daughter visited in the afternoon... your staff should be more professional as my matter took 4 hours to conclude...
Very interestingly, Creative had took my device in for "FORENSIC" investigation, this is to prove that the device had came to this state under abnormal usage... this of cos will not be immediate as expected...
I will await patiently as I think the Technical Support had lost total cool in handling the matter when she starts leaving behind her name "Huitin" and Serial Number "05xxxx" and telling me to file official complaint if I am not happy with the handling methods.. maybe good professional staffs are really difiicult to come by...

• The MuVo V200 beltclip is a joke, Now I have no player. What Can I

Hello all, I'm very disappointed with the Muvo V200 Beltclip. I have had my Muvo since the 9th Jan 2005 and have been using it all the time and had no problems with it what so ever. But yesterday I had taken my player out with me. I had it connected to the beltclip as always. I had taken my headphones out of my ears when I was asking some bloke a question and did not but them back in till about 0 minutes later. When I put them back in I went to turn my player on, But I could not feel it, I look on my belt and all that was there was the dark grey clip that held the player to the belt. I still had the head phones but they must unplugged when the player fell. I retraced my steps but I had no luck finding my player.
All I have now are the Headphones and a dark grey clip, But looking at the dark grey clip there is a hole at the back, which I think something should have been there.
So as you can imagine, I'm very disappointed. What I would like to ask is, Is the loss of my player covered by the English Warranty?
Because I do believe the Beltclip had failed, letting the player fall from my belt. I done my best to find it, but as I said, to no luck.
All thats left now is the part of the clip and the headphones.

sorry for the poor pic (taken on my phone)Message Edited by DrMartin on 04-04-2005 0:42 AM

On the day it happened I was wearing a shirt that covered the top part of my jeans, So only the headphones would have let people know Im carrying a player, If someone was to take it, the only way to remove it would be to lift it, but I still had the clip part of the holder. If someone did take it by ripping it off I would have known about it.
Ok as for it not disconnecting from the headphones I don't know, My headphones did not fall with it, and I did not feel it falling. What I do know is that I have lost my gig V200.
I will phone Creative first thing Monday, But what I was looking for here was someone who might have had the same thing happen with the V200 or another MP3 player, and did the Warranty cover it's

• A Problem With Muvo V200 !!

Hi everybody, I've bought a Muvo V200 GB, and it works well , less one thing:
When the blue light is activated I feel a very "high-pitched" sound, and it's very unpleasant.
Can somebody tell me if there is a firmware that fix that problem ?
I've tried to format the usb flash but I still have this problem. And I've also seen some posts in other forums that complain about that.

No, the problem is with the V200 hardware itself, not the headphones. But using a higher impedance phone results in this high frequency noise being greatly attenuated. Being a hardware issue, there is no possible firmware fix for this. The only option is to go to a higher impedance phone (the Koss KSC-75 sounds great and is available for $5 from amazon.com) or li've with the problem. You can of course set the player to have the backlight always off - this will also eliminate the problem except at startup but will make adjustments more difficult in the dark.

• MUVO V200 Help Required

Hi,
I recently purchased a MUVO V200 with 52 mb memory.
My first problem was the FM radio would not work, but I have since put this down to it requiring more power from the batteries than standard music. Bit of a pain as my rechargable batteries, even when fully charged won't allow the FM radio to work. Is this normal?
My main problem; is since reformating the dri've and loading new firmware, the player will only store 00 songs, the packaging advises 256 songs. Can anyone explain if there is anything I can do to enable me to load more songs.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks
James

I have Uniross 770mAh, Energizer 850mAh and Hahnel 900mAh, all .2V and all work fine.
You can convert the files you have to a different bit-rate using the Audio Converter function of MediaSource that came with your player. If you use MediaSource to rip your CDs then you can set it up to rip at a lower bit-rate right from the start.
MediaSource and V200 Media Explorer also have a SmartFit function where the files can be reduced in size as you transfer them to your player, though this slows down the transfer process and you would have to do it again if you reloaded the same files again at a later date.
If these are files from an online music store then you probably can't convert them directly because of the license issues, but you can burn them to an audio CD then re-rip them at a lower bit-rate. If you use a CD-RW then you don't end up wasting a load of CD-Rs.

I am having a problem with the disk space of my Muvo V200.

I am starting to copy the files and when I receive this message I go to the properties and it says that I have USED SPACE:540MB and FREE SPACE:453MB.
Despite that I cannot copy all my files.
Does anyone knows wht is going on?
Thank you.

• Mac Mini and MuVo V200 problem

I have Mac Mini .83 a few months now. Yesterday, I've, for the first time, tried to connect my MuVo V200 via USB. The problem is that Mac simply can't see MuVo at all!!! With other devices I have no problem. What I suppose to do?
Thanks anyone who can help?

Did you have the Mac before you bought the Muvo V 200? You should have read the box and listed requirements,if you bought this yourself. Below are the minumum requirements for the Muvo V 00 or 200.

• Muvo V200 Starts up for one second and then shuts do

Hi,
I bought my Muvo V200 two weeks ago and was delighted with the quality. Yesterday I went to use it and it starts up to reveal the Creative logo and then shuts down straight away. Now the computer wont recognise it either (although a graphic does appear on the muvo screen saying that it is connected to the computer). Ive tried updating the firmware but the installer gets errors. What do I do?

Other people have had the same trouble so I don't think it's because you're in an Internet cafe, but it would be better if you had access to a PC that you could install the drivers onto. Without them you can't get into Recovery Mode.
Perhaps someone in the Internet cafe would logon as an Admin for you so that you could load the drivers and carry out the firmware reload?
Have you not got access to another PC?

• Soft screeching sound on Muvo V200 when backlight is on

Um, anyone pls help me... I just bought my Muvo V200 and the first time I on it, there's a soft screeching and disturbing sound.. But when the backlight off, the sound disappears.. When i press a button, the backlight ons and the same screeching sound comes out... The sound is like (YEEEEEEE)... PLease reply to me asap anyone.. Thanks.

Just disable the backlight if the sound bothers you. It is very easy. Just set the backlight time to zero. Using 32 ohm earphones rather than 6 ohm ones might make the backlight noise almost inaudible if you find a need to use the backlight.

I also get an "Access denied" message when I try to create a new folder, and a write-protection message when I try to drag and drop one in (One without music). I've also tried to move the music over in the Creative Organizer whoever get "An error occured" message. I also can't create a new folder on my MP3 Player in the organizer using the "New" button.

• Zen MuVo V200 problem

My sister has the GB Zen MuVo V200 and hasn't filled the capacity yet, but the player won't allow her to put any more songs onto it.
It pops up a message saying that: "Your Music Library is corrupted and cannot be recovered. MediaSource will now revert to your most recent back-up available. Would you like to continue? Yes/No."
Even if I click Yes or No, I need to download some Microsoft jet pack software, I haven't a clue what it is!
I checked the properties of the player, and it says that 604MB is used space, and the free space is 389MB, so I should be able to put more songs on there. I am confused as to where the space has disappeared to. When trying to transfer songs, an error message pops up and says there is a transfer error has occured while transferring this file, and so it cancels the transfer. I think it has something to do with the amount of space, but I am not sure.
Sorry to be of a nuisance again, but is there anything that I can do?
Thanks again,
Vanessa.

As SSR has said, the PC Music Library error is a MediaSource problem.
The reason that you haven't managed to fill up your player is covered in SSR's FAQ post. Look for a section titled "I can't seem to fit any more files on my flash player yet I have free space, why?".

• My MuVo V200 doom

so here is the thing:
i bought my muvo v200 maybe few years ago and it has been working perfectly since it started to have problems connecting with my pc. it couldnt kinda connect with the pc. when i put it into my usb port the sound of "new device connected" played and right after it the sound of the device is unplugged and again connect/disconnect sound and it keeps doing that as long as the stick is put into the usb port.
so when it was doing that first time the problem disappeared eventually. but now the problem appeared again and it wouldnt disappear. so i read about the recovery device and tried to do the things mentioned in that post, even more problems appeared. before that event i was able to listen music with the player but couldnt connect it with my pc. now, when i tried to flash the new firmware on it there was an error which said something about timeout during the update and then the update was cancelled.
well there was that text blinking that do not disconnect the device during update, and then the error came so it kinda disconnected it during the update. now i cannot even put it on anymore, so i cannot listen to music anymore with my muvo .
i've tried to connect it with my second computer which just have been formatted and windwos has been reinstalled on it. same problem there with connecting and updating.
even my computer's bios displays that 4 usb devices are connected, and when i put muvo to the usb port it shows 5 devices connected, and after a few seconds it shows 4 and again 5 and so on...
is there anything i could do or is my player completely doomed?

If the firmware download was interrupted unfortunately the only way to fix the player is directly reprogramming the ROM, which is beyond what a user can do. You'll most likely have to pay for Creative to repair the player.

• Muvo V200, question about the play m

Hello,I have a question about the play mode on my V200. I want to play the songs in a specific order (like in a playlist) but I don't find the way to do this. Can you help me please ?
Thanks
(sorry if I don't speak english very well, but I'm french )

Hi!
To get the tracks to play in a specific order, put numbers at the beginning of each file name. E.g.: file 'examplesong.mp3' would become '0_ examplesong.mp3' Don't spend years doing that manually though; the computer will do it for you! Click on 'my computer', then click on 'Muvo V200 media explorer'.. This shows the contents of your player. Choose the folder that you want to reorder the songs in...
( it's best to put the songs in folders, like you would in a floppy disk, as the muvo can only hold a certain amount in the root directory, and folders are great for organisation - eg: you can put one CD in each folder, and then the player will play all of the tracks in that folder before moving on to the next one )
...and click on it to display the songs. In the pictures along the top of the window, 4th from the right is an icon with a downward facing arrow and an A above a Z. Click on this, it's called 'custom sort'. You can then use the arrows at the bottom to change the order of your tracks to how you want them. Click OK, and they'll all be numbered (and so will play) in that order.
Hope that helps!

• Suggestion firmware MuVo v200 Radio

I have a MuVo v200 GB vith 32 radios FM. Firmware .02.0e. It's a marvellous produced.
Suggestion: To be able to indicate the name of the stations FM memorized.
How: by creating a file fm.ini (simple textual file) containing following informations.
Example: If the user memorized the 5 following stations FM, he writes the file fm.ini according to and memorizes it in the root of key USB of the MuVo.
fm.ini file contains:
--- file beginning ---; no checking enters the frequency and the name of the station.;="Radio Creative the best"2="Radio France"3="Radio jazz"; 3="Radio culture"32="Radio Tour-Eiffel;; it's very simple for the user; Perhaps that it is feasible for the programmer--- end of the file ---
Thank you very much.

The latest firmware was a .0.xx version but it seems to have gone from the website - it will not do anything to improve your WAV recording.
What do you mean by voice and FM recording are BAD. That is down to how the player samples and encodes what it hears - changing the format to mp3 will not enhance your recordings. For example, the music on a CD is effecti'vely the same format as a WAV file and when you rip it to mp3 then the quality gets worse not better, due to the basic design of how encoding works - it removes some parts of the sound to allow it to be compressed into a smaller filesize..
It has never been said that you can't downgrade your firmware but peole do seem to have trouble getting it to work.

• HELP!!! MuVO V200 Fat32 NO RESPOND

I have big problem. I have MuVo V200 and i format it using FAT32. My Mp3 no responding. I can't format it to FAT/FAT6. My?system:?WINDOWS XP SP2. PLIZ HELP
!!! My mail: ">[email protected]

Try putting the V200 into Recovery Mode first. This is done by holding the play button and then connecting the V200 to your PC via the USB port.
When it is in Recovery Mode then try loading the V200 firmware.
To put it into Recovery Mode you might need these drivers:
http://uk.europe.creative.com/suppor...ame=Windows+XP
Download and install these to your PC first.

• Muvo V200 turns off when trying to enter the FM Radio opt

My Muvo V200 (52MB) stopped working. I was not able to turn it on: after pressing the power button the CREATIVE text was displayed and that was all. To solve this problem I've reinstalled the firmware (.2.03e version). The player is ali've now, but the FM Radio stopped working. When I try to use the FM Radio option, the player just turns off.
How can I solve this problem? Is there any way to install an older firmware vesrion?

Yes, I did - with no result.
But your advices lead me to one more solution, of which I hadn't thought before. I've tried to install the latest firmware (.2.03) in the recovery mode. And guess what? My V200 is fully functional again.
I'm not quite sure if it was the recovery mode or the slightly different file version which made the trick. This time I've used the MuVoV200_PCFW_LF__2_03.exe file (without the "e" suffix). But I'm almost sure I've also tried it in the normal mode before, which lead me to the broken radio function as in case of the MuVoV200_PCFW_LF__2_03e.exe file.
What are the differences between MuVoV200_PCFW_LF__2_03 and MuVoV200_PCFW_LF__2_03e? After extracting these files I can see that their contents differ.
