MuVo v200 plaing radio when connected to

Hi,
can I somehow configure MuVo V200 to play Radio (through it's earphones) when it's connected to PC? So to save the battery's when I'm near PC.

Yes, I did - with no result.
But your advices lead me to one more solution, of which I hadn't thought before. I've tried to install the latest firmware (.2.03) in the recovery mode. And guess what? My V200 is fully functional again.
I'm not quite sure if it was the recovery mode or the slightly different file version which made the trick. This time I've used the MuVoV200_PCFW_LF__2_03.exe file (without the "e" suffix). But I'm almost sure I've also tried it in the normal mode before, which lead me to the broken radio function as in case of the MuVoV200_PCFW_LF__2_03e.exe file.
What are the differences between MuVoV200_PCFW_LF__2_03 and MuVoV200_PCFW_LF__2_03e? After extracting these files I can see that their contents differ.

• Muvo V200 turns off when trying to enter the FM Radio opt

My Muvo V200 (52MB) stopped working. I was not able to turn it on: after pressing the power button the CREATIVE text was displayed and that was all. To solve this problem I've reinstalled the firmware (.2.03e version). The player is ali've now, but the FM Radio stopped working. When I try to use the FM Radio option, the player just turns off.
How can I solve this problem? Is there any way to install an older firmware vesrion?

• Noise/hiss on MuVo V200 during playb

I experience a noise/hiss on a GB MuVo V200 audible even when the light is off (though it is louder with light on). It is present all the time when the playback goes, but stops for a moment during the gap between the songs. I noticed this since the music listened was of ambiental type, and I listnede to on very low volume (indicator was at 2). It does not depend on music source. I thought it was intereference from FM, but is stops betweeen the songs it is not so. And it is very annoying. Is this s serial problem know? BTW, firmware is .05.02 - I did not want to flash it before checking is it worthwhile ...

I upgraded the player to the latest firmware ... no changes; you can actually hear the noise/hiss if the playback is on even if you turn the volume to zero.
Anyone, any idea? Should I try replacing th unit with another one (it's actually not easy to do here where I li've ...)
Please!

• Suggestion firmware MuVo v200 Radio

I have a MuVo v200 GB vith 32 radios FM. Firmware .02.0e. It's a marvellous produced.
Suggestion: To be able to indicate the name of the stations FM memorized.
How: by creating a file fm.ini (simple textual file) containing following informations.
Example: If the user memorized the 5 following stations FM, he writes the file fm.ini according to and memorizes it in the root of key USB of the MuVo.
fm.ini file contains:
--- file beginning ---; no checking enters the frequency and the name of the station.;="Radio Creative the best"2="Radio France"3="Radio jazz"; 3="Radio culture"32="Radio Tour-Eiffel;; it's very simple for the user; Perhaps that it is feasible for the programmer--- end of the file ---
Thank you very much.

The latest firmware was a .0.xx version but it seems to have gone from the website - it will not do anything to improve your WAV recording.
What do you mean by voice and FM recording are BAD. That is down to how the player samples and encodes what it hears - changing the format to mp3 will not enhance your recordings. For example, the music on a CD is effecti'vely the same format as a WAV file and when you rip it to mp3 then the quality gets worse not better, due to the basic design of how encoding works - it removes some parts of the sound to allow it to be compressed into a smaller filesize..
It has never been said that you can't downgrade your firmware but peole do seem to have trouble getting it to work.

• TS1425 iPod nano - loses functionality when connected to car radio

For the past week, when I connect my iPod nano (4th generation) to a car radio (and I've tried it in several) it brings up a splash screen of the radio manufacturer which stays on the iPod screen and prevents any further access to the iPod functionality. This only happens when connected to a car radio, otherwise the iPod functions normally. So in effect, the iPod is unusable when connected to the car radio, which is where I do most of my listening. Anyone know how to help eliminate this problem?

It sounds like a battery issue to me. When you connect it to the PC it draws power from the computer and thus it is able to function. Apparently it doesn't have enough of its own juice anymore. You probably just need a new battery.

• Soft screeching sound on Muvo V200 when backlight is on

Um, anyone pls help me... I just bought my Muvo V200 and the first time I on it, there's a soft screeching and disturbing sound.. But when the backlight off, the sound disappears.. When i press a button, the backlight ons and the same screeching sound comes out... The sound is like (YEEEEEEE)... PLease reply to me asap anyone.. Thanks.

Just disable the backlight if the sound bothers you. It is very easy. Just set the backlight time to zero. Using 32 ohm earphones rather than 6 ohm ones might make the backlight noise almost inaudible if you find a need to use the backlight.

• When connecting an iPod touch 4g to an accessory (car radio) can be heard crackling (cliping)

When connecting an iPod touch 4g to an accessory (car radio) can be heard crackling (cliping), as if listening to an old record, but via headphones everything is ok. So where is the problem?

All I can suggest are the standard fixes:
- Reset the car system/contact the manufacturer
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: How to back up
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

• Muvo V200: noise when backlight is lit

Hi,
I have a Muvo V200 and it makes an annoying noise when the backlight is lit (ie: when changing track, navigating through the menu, when it's powered on,...).
I have the latest firmware. I heard it could be fixed by using a previous version of the firmware: anyone can confirm this ? If so, where can I find a version of the firmware that would not create this noise ?
Anyway, I hope it will be fixed in future firmwares !
Leo.

I do find it annoying but I don't want to turn off backlight. I don't have bought a player with a backlight to turn it off...
Btw, it seems the problem has already been reported almost two years ago on these forums: how come Creative did not come with a solution to the problem and, even worst: are still selling players that still have this problem today ?
Leo.

• MUVO V200 Plug

Sometimes when I plug-in my MUVO-V200 into my laptop I don't receive a notification that a device has been pluged-in and my player starts play.
I know that when you have pluged-in the player into the PC you are not able to listen to music using the headphones directly from the player.
I understand that there is no point in listening directly from the player when it is connected to the PC but by this way you are able to use the radio.
Does anybody knows if I am able to listen to radio while the player it is connected to the PC?

What's happening is pins 2 and 3, for data, are not connecting for some reason. With pins and 4 connected it provides power to the MuVo, as if it were running off a battery.

• Muvo V200 512MB randomly shuts d

Hi, I have a Muvo V200 52MB.
I usually have to try *many* times before it accepts to turn on. And when it does, it shuts down a few seconds later, randomly. It has an even greater chance of shutting down if I ever dare touching a button.
This is not a battery issue. Tried new batteries, no better luck.
I installed the drivers on my PC, I reflashed the firmware, tried last version, previous version, reformatted the dri've a few times, no better luck.
Any idea ?
Thanks

Well, i have the same problem as it has been mentioned here.i have a Muvo Tx USB 2.0 52 MB without radio.2 days ago when i was listening my mp3 player in the bathtube =), it shut down itself.i did not paid any attention at first but when tried to jump on the next song it again shut down itself. Now my player opens when i press any button once instead of pressing the /0 button a few seconds. And it shuts down when i press any button once a time as it behaves when opening.i cannot reach the menu or any other function. My player only plays the last song from eactly where it'shas been on the last opening. Cannot change it , or jump on to other songs. i had got another problem with it 3 months ago and downloaded NoMad Muvo Tx Firmware v..22.03.(When asking info about firmware, it shows its version as .0.5.675, NoMad Muvo Tx Firmware Download Application)This was a problem which my player did not work and when i had connected it to any PC with a winXP sp2 (both on russian and english) windows only launched the true "ini" files and recognized my player but could not display the player on "my computer". When i had tried to reach my player, windows displayed a message, "Critical I/O error, Couldnt retrieve device info.." The firmware update which i have mentioned above have helped me immediately as well i have no such problems again till the day before yesterday. Now, please what must i do with this buzzling problem Can anybody hear me

• The MuVo V200 beltclip is a joke, Now I have no player. What Can I

Hello all, I'm very disappointed with the Muvo V200 Beltclip. I have had my Muvo since the 9th Jan 2005 and have been using it all the time and had no problems with it what so ever. But yesterday I had taken my player out with me. I had it connected to the beltclip as always. I had taken my headphones out of my ears when I was asking some bloke a question and did not but them back in till about 0 minutes later. When I put them back in I went to turn my player on, But I could not feel it, I look on my belt and all that was there was the dark grey clip that held the player to the belt. I still had the head phones but they must unplugged when the player fell. I retraced my steps but I had no luck finding my player.
All I have now are the Headphones and a dark grey clip, But looking at the dark grey clip there is a hole at the back, which I think something should have been there.
So as you can imagine, I'm very disappointed. What I would like to ask is, Is the loss of my player covered by the English Warranty?
Because I do believe the Beltclip had failed, letting the player fall from my belt. I done my best to find it, but as I said, to no luck.
All thats left now is the part of the clip and the headphones.

sorry for the poor pic (taken on my phone)Message Edited by DrMartin on 04-04-2005 0:42 AM

On the day it happened I was wearing a shirt that covered the top part of my jeans, So only the headphones would have let people know Im carrying a player, If someone was to take it, the only way to remove it would be to lift it, but I still had the clip part of the holder. If someone did take it by ripping it off I would have known about it.
Ok as for it not disconnecting from the headphones I don't know, My headphones did not fall with it, and I did not feel it falling. What I do know is that I have lost my gig V200.
I will phone Creative first thing Monday, But what I was looking for here was someone who might have had the same thing happen with the V200 or another MP3 player, and did the Warranty cover it's

• MUVO V200 Help Required

Hi,
I recently purchased a MUVO V200 with 52 mb memory.
My first problem was the FM radio would not work, but I have since put this down to it requiring more power from the batteries than standard music. Bit of a pain as my rechargable batteries, even when fully charged won't allow the FM radio to work. Is this normal?
My main problem; is since reformating the dri've and loading new firmware, the player will only store 00 songs, the packaging advises 256 songs. Can anyone explain if there is anything I can do to enable me to load more songs.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks
James

I have Uniross 770mAh, Energizer 850mAh and Hahnel 900mAh, all .2V and all work fine.
You can convert the files you have to a different bit-rate using the Audio Converter function of MediaSource that came with your player. If you use MediaSource to rip your CDs then you can set it up to rip at a lower bit-rate right from the start.
MediaSource and V200 Media Explorer also have a SmartFit function where the files can be reduced in size as you transfer them to your player, though this slows down the transfer process and you would have to do it again if you reloaded the same files again at a later date.
If these are files from an online music store then you probably can't convert them directly because of the license issues, but you can burn them to an audio CD then re-rip them at a lower bit-rate. If you use a CD-RW then you don't end up wasting a load of CD-Rs.

• My MuVo V200 doom

so here is the thing:
i bought my muvo v200 maybe few years ago and it has been working perfectly since it started to have problems connecting with my pc. it couldnt kinda connect with the pc. when i put it into my usb port the sound of "new device connected" played and right after it the sound of the device is unplugged and again connect/disconnect sound and it keeps doing that as long as the stick is put into the usb port.
so when it was doing that first time the problem disappeared eventually. but now the problem appeared again and it wouldnt disappear. so i read about the recovery device and tried to do the things mentioned in that post, even more problems appeared. before that event i was able to listen music with the player but couldnt connect it with my pc. now, when i tried to flash the new firmware on it there was an error which said something about timeout during the update and then the update was cancelled.
well there was that text blinking that do not disconnect the device during update, and then the error came so it kinda disconnected it during the update. now i cannot even put it on anymore, so i cannot listen to music anymore with my muvo .
i've tried to connect it with my second computer which just have been formatted and windwos has been reinstalled on it. same problem there with connecting and updating.
even my computer's bios displays that 4 usb devices are connected, and when i put muvo to the usb port it shows 5 devices connected, and after a few seconds it shows 4 and again 5 and so on...
is there anything i could do or is my player completely doomed?

If the firmware download was interrupted unfortunately the only way to fix the player is directly reprogramming the ROM, which is beyond what a user can do. You'll most likely have to pay for Creative to repair the player.

• HELP!!! MuVO V200 Fat32 NO RESPOND

I have big problem. I have MuVo V200 and i format it using FAT32. My Mp3 no responding. I can't format it to FAT/FAT6. My?system:?WINDOWS XP SP2. PLIZ HELP
!!! My mail: ">[email protected]

Try putting the V200 into Recovery Mode first. This is done by holding the play button and then connecting the V200 to your PC via the USB port.
When it is in Recovery Mode then try loading the V200 firmware.
To put it into Recovery Mode you might need these drivers:
http://uk.europe.creative.com/suppor...ame=Windows+XP
Download and install these to your PC first.
