Muvo Vidz Transcender program iss

i tried to "transcend" some .avi and .wma files, with different codecs but the program doesn't wanna transcend it..
it gives me a warning saying "Transcoding faild. Can not find required codecs.", can anyone please help me out?
is there any other way to transcend videos to mv4?

i'm also getting the same error when using the transcoder. I can play the movie files using windows player, vlc and other kind of media player. I already tried it using on my laptop and desktop but still getting the error.
does anyone has a solution for this problem, maybe a third party program

MuVo Vidz

An error msg pops up everytime I attempt to convert a wmv or avi file to mv4 format. The clips run on my PC and on the transcoder however do not convert.
The error message is "Transcoding failed. Can not find the required codecs."
Any ideas? Has anyone found this to be a problem?
I have contacted customer service and they have no idea. They blamed the third party software producer.
This product stinks.
The vidz part is useless, if your looking for a video player don't get the MuVo Vidz. It's fine for mp3 and voice recording but that's it.

If youare getting a codec error then it would mean that the file you have is in a format that the software cannot recognise. You should try re-installing Windows Media Player 0 as this comes with audio and video codecs. ALso try reloading the creative software from the CD ifproblems persist. You shyould also try a different source file - for example something simple like c:\windows\clock.avi.

Problem with Muvo Vidz, possible to go under warrenty repa

Think its still purchased within a year, so its under warrenty. I got it as a christams gift last year. So chances of getting a receipt is rather... Slim.
Anyway, recently, the screen is a little screwed up. There has been a vertical line constantly, with distorted colours. Not sure if that counts as dead pixels, it still displays, but the colours are weird. No longer the colours it should display.

That is where the line is. Sorry for poor image quality, camera can't really get a clear image when zoomed/moved to that close. But you can see roughly where that brown line is, as pointed out by the white arrows. Thats one of my main concern.
Also sometimes, it has trouble dislpaying. As in I didn't try it with videos, but as it scrolls the name of the song, the scrolling isn't exactly correct. It scrolls but the letters, which are white, kinda "ghosting" for a moment before it returns, then the next letter when scrolling away will "ghost" abit. Happens seldom, only witness it happening like 4-5 times, but it still happens.
Also, when watching videos, it would frequently hang, each time with different situations.
) Hang with a loud screech, then restarts itself.
2) Hang with a loud screech for a while and hangs there until I manually restart it.
3) Hang with a loud screech, the movie's video continue to play, sound remains as screech and none of the controls work until I force reset it.
4) Hang with a loud screech, screech remains, movie stucks.
Happens numerous times already, uncountable.
Errrr, how do I go about doing the warrenty thing? What would I need? Anyone has any idea?

If you require RMA or service for the product, you will need to contact Customer Support in your region. They will go through all the necessary stuff and advise you accordingly.

my new creative Muvo vidz screen is slowly turning black, it happend on my old one as well and bought a new one, now this one which i have only had for 3 weeks is now doing the same.

Help With MuVo V2

To anyone who can spare 5 minutes to read this and give me feedback, I will be very greatful for your help =)
I switched off my mp3 player (it's a MuVo V200) to the radio mode. When I switched it on I wanted to return it to the music mode, and it automatically switches off.
At first I thought it was the battery- i have bought batteries of 2 different brands and both have not worked.
Has anyone faced the same problem? How did you fix it's

That was frustrating me also, could not find my device, but as you suggested, I changed the country to germany and guessed my way through selecting device, etc. Muvo V200 is what I have. I downloaded and executed the mstorage file, and the folder ends up at the programs folder... creative... mstorage and I do see in there the two .inf files and the one log file says everything installed correctly . However I am running windows 98 and for the life of me, I point the wizard directly to the mstorage folder and it still says it cannot find the driver. I also downloaded both the Muvo V200 installation program and the other program to organize the music and transfer, etc,. both of them requires the device to be connecte and detected in order to finalize installation, so I am like the chicken and the egg going in circles... I thought the Installation program would take care of everything but it just hangs up on detecting the device which of course it will never detect because I cannot get the device to install... you see how I am going in circles... This was a promotion from SBC when I ordered dsl and dish, so I am not too worried since I did not pay for it, but it came without the installatin disc, we are supposed to download everything from the site... I am frustrated... anything you can help with will be greatly appreciated... I have two USB ports, I have tried both they are 2.0 by the way.. I also have 2 extra USP ports from the keyboard those don't work either, even though they work fine for my digital camera and my webcam...,,, now I am rambling... Please help

N200 can not view additional music on dev

I have been searching this site for hours attempting to find a solution;?I can see the music in the MUVO N200 desktop programs...WMP 0 and other programs however, I can see the music files in the device. Files are saved in .wma? I have the latest firmware and drivers. I have some old music from a year ago however newer downloads from online are not working. Had this device for a year and now I can not loaded from napster...because files are M4P's or what ever reason. There is no support from this company.... They will have to change there name pretty soon. Need help!!!!!

Good point, Cat, I was of course talking about converting your CD collection into MP3.
IMO, any purchased DRM music, from any source, will disappear when the vendor goes out of business, or when somebody in authority wants to change the rules. I buy all the music I like on tangible objects, CDs and DVDs, which I know I am likely to be able to enjoy for decades to come.
Now, as to whether it is legal to rip your own CDs to Mp3 files for your own listening pleasure, I don't want to get into that area of discussion
ps: sorry I sound negati've, I think Creative has been sold down the ri'ver by Microsoft. I have a degree of contempt for the vendors (not just Creative) who allowed that to happen, but I know the moderators here are doing their best under very difficult circumstances.

i see it has a usb port . does it just connect? i try but cant get any sound. i using muvo and ipod.

No, I'm afraid not. The MuVo Vidz isn't M-Port compatible. I believe there's a Aux input at the control pod which you can use with the player.

Is anyone else in the US interested in the Muvo Vidz? It seems like it has the potential to be a great product. I wouldn't want to watch an epic on it but it would be great for some sitcoms and such when you have some time to kill.

It won't hold too much mind you, and the screen might be slightly too small, but it'd be okay if you only had a small collection.

Muvo N200 download iss

hey I recently bought a Muvo N200 second hand. It was only the MP3, no software. So I was told that Windows Media Player works good for uploading songs on the MP3. It all works fine and dandy, BUT I cant seem to put my music into the specific files I create for the music. Anyone use Windows Media Player and/or know how I am able to put or upload the songs directly into the folder?

On the N200 you can have about 60 folders including the My Recorded Tracks and My Encoded Tracks folders. This is part of the Creative firmware. The only limitation with FAT is the number of files or folders in the root (top-level) folder. There is an explanation of this here. As long as you at least create a Music folder and put other folders inside this then you should be OK until you hit Creative's folder limit.
BTW, even without the installation CD you can get all of the Creative software from the N200 download page. This includes N200 Media Explorer and Creative MediaSource, which is a full PC Music Library program, similar to WMP. You need to use Media Explorer, CMS or WMP to transfer music you have downloaded from official music download sites - you can't just drag and drop those files using Windows Explorer.

I would like to suggest ti include a programable play mode for MuVo V200 (and N200), I mean, a a play mode wich the user could select one-by-one songs on the MuVo and then the MuVo play those songs in the given order.
Creative may implement this by introducing virtual folders, folders that only contains references to the stored songs, so user could use the existing diferent play modes over those folders.
I think there's no technical reason that avoids this feature, but I know it may be not simple.

PD: Oh, of course I suggest Ogg Vorbis support, I don't care if my battery stands half time (WMV do it also, but no so hard), but I know Creative don't like Ogg Vorbis

Muvo V100 transfer iss

My father has a Creative MuVo V00 which has songs on it already. The problem is when I transfer songs onto it for him I make a folder for the artist and transfer the song into the folder. The folder shows the song but when I try removing the mp3 player safely it always fails. So I pull it out of the usb port and then turn the mp3 player on and look for the new folder I made. The folder is not there even though when you look at it on the computer it's there. The odd thing is that if I put a new song in an original folder the song plays on the mp3 player. Any help would be great.
Using Creative Mediasource (newest version updated through program) with Windows XP.

I just use Windows Explorer to organize my MuVo (right click Start menu button, select Explore from the menu).
Try creating a new Folder in Windows Explorer and see if that works for you.
I just drag & drop files to my MuVo's Folders from my PC Music Library and don't bother with MediaSource.
The MuVo line is pretty basic (which I like as it's perfect for outdoor activities) and its file system is limited in the number of subfolders that it can address.
Are you putting new Folders within the Root?

MuVo² Startup Iss

Yeah, hi people.
I've had this awesome Creative MuVo? 5gigs for a bit, and I was superhappy with it. Untill one day it suddenly stopped, died, whilst I was listening to music...
Once home, I charged it back up, thinking it was that. Well, as I wanted to start it back up, it just froze at the MuVo? screen making a funny beeping, du-du-du-du-du sound, for a lack of better wording... I can't even shut it off, unless I yank out the battery. My computer doesn't even recognize the thing, so this is really frustrating.
So if you guys know anything to help me out here, that'd be just swell. I really need this little bugger, he was my good friend, heh.

It's not the music that i was worried about, i had some voice recordings that i did for work.
Unfortunately i didn't even get the chance to back it up. lol
Did the recordings and turned the Muvo off. Turned it on about half a day later and it was dead...
