Muvo2 (1.5gb) hardware iss

I recently received a second-hand Muvo2, and while *in general* it functions correctly, I have noticed some problems.
* When connected to a PC, the device "clicks" persistently.
* Still connected to the PC, Windows sporadically stops recognising the device. (It's not an issue with the cables, I've already tested that)
* Random songs skip. After reloading all data the problem still occurs, but *not* on the same songs (so the file(s) can not be corrupt)
* I purchased an FM remote for it, which intermittently loses power or will not start up.
I've formatted the device, run a scandisk and updated the latest firmware, however the problems still occur. As it is a second-hand device, I've no idea when it was purchased, but it is almost certainly out of warranty. To the best of my knowledge it has never been dropped, damaged or anything else.
Are these common issues with the Muvo2? Is it possible to purchase a new HDD for it, or must it be sent away for repair? As it's out of warranty, is it still possible to send it for repair? Are there any other suggestions?

oh bugger. that's the only way? argh. jurong here i come.
haha thanks man. oh btw, did they say what caused that to happen?

I guess it depends on the problem. If you still have a warrenty then you dont have to pay. But i guess it depends on what is wrong

  • Muvo2 FM 5GB Charging Prob

hi, my friend just gave me the above player, i had problem charging the player using USB player,?when i connect it to my pc, it only sync between the pc and player for transferring files but it's not charging at all, how do i go about to charge the batt? do i have wait till EMPTY battery before i can charge it's?please kind advise thanks

Double click on My Computer and then right click on the MuVo2.
Click Eject, but leave the player connected, it should then charge.
Leave it attached until it's full (3 bars).
Careful charging via USB as it must have least one bar of power before you can start to do so.

  • Sb live 5.1 driver and hardware iss

hey i am having no luck installing this hardware with the unified driver package available on the site.... this card will install properly with the original cd that came with it but i no longer have it. i have seen several posts with the same issue and no moderator comments... is anyone woking on this issue (its been an issue for a long time) and can a moderator atleast tell us that we are not likely to get a fix/solution to this in a sticky so the people having these issues dont have to search through the forums to come to this conclusion themselves.
the only possible way i have to get this working is to unrar/uzip the driver exe and manually point windows to the drivers.... but none of the other features are installed and even after windows sees the hardware and is able to use it the autodetection that comes with the drivers can not. i am using this card primarily in linux since the open source alsa project has good support for it and harware mixing working but this really should have no issues in windows.
lastly, is it possible to get an original installation disk from creative?... the iso available on the forums does not work... it is the unified downloadable driver pkg set up in iso format.
    thanks

    JonnyBeGood,
The Li'veDrvUniPack is a standalone driver pack that is available on our website. If you do a search for Li'veDrvUni from our driver section, it should be the link that comes up.

  • Creative MuVo2 1,5GB - Listen Probl

    Hello,
i've got the MuVo2 ,5 GB (the little blue one).
The MP3 Player worked always perfectly but since Month when i put in the headphone and start the player, the music quality is very bad.
Now i bought a new headphone and i've got the same problem.
When i rotate the clip of the headphone in the player around at one point i've got the normal qualitiy. the player is now over 3 or 4 years old.
    What can I do?
The Serial Number in the player is: MPF036044000226V
Thanks for your help and sorry for the bad english I'm from Germany.. ;-)
    Tanzbaer

There's a limit with the MuVo players of 28 files in the root, so chances are there's the same file system limitation with the MuVo?. The way to get around it is to simply use folders to organies your files, so delete at least some files then you should be able to create folders.

  • Creative Zen Micro 5gb Hardware Probl

I bought my Mp3 plater just after Xmas and already it has refused to work. What happened was that when I tried to switch it off, the screen froze on the shuttign down screen, this lasted more then /2 an hour..so I decided to take out the battery and replace, it's now saying that there is a hardware fault and won't play.
I have not had any bumps major drops with it.
So what could be the problem.
I can't even get into recovery mode.

i have the same problem posted for my 40GB. it sounds like the support is bad with this company. SSR, you seem to have a lot to say, but it usually ends up with contact support. have you actually had any experience with support that was good? i have just been told that i will have to spend $88 to fix a unit that only cost $206 a bit over a year ago. i cant understand why there is no cooperation from creative to coorect what appears to be a serious reoccurring problem. is there any action a group of customers with the same problem can take? any ideas out there? it doesnt seem to make sense that we spend a couple hundred bucks and have something lasy a year or so, and then spend another couple hundred bucks to either fix or replace it. i'd love some feedback.

  • Nomad Muvo2 1.5gb Firmware prob

    Hi,
When i insert the battery, the nomad muvo 2 automatically power on and freeze on "Muvo 2". In the recovery mode i can't format or do anything, because the player freezes. The computer don't recognizes the player, and i can't update the firmware. What is the solution?
    Raul Nakano

If Rescue Mode is not working the player is faulty unfortunately.

  • Zen sleek hardware iss

    Hello all,
I bought a silicone cover with a belt clip for my sleek...and when i'm wearing it on my belt, the sleek bounces around a bit....i'm not sure if it is a coincidence or not but when i turned it on today, the track that i was previously listening to switched names with a differen track...any connection?
Also, is it a problem to have the sleek move around while on?
    what about while not on?
    thank you for your time!

your silicon case doesn't happen to be the boxwave case?.... if it is, tell me about it, i ordered 2 but i wasnt sure about them... too late now but any info should be good. also, creative doesn't reccomend jogging and what not with their hard dri've players. there are actually a few posts where harddri'ves have stopped working so.... i guess its up to you

  • My Muvo Square FM 5GB has a pr

    I bought a MuVo2 FM 5GB a month back.
This morning, I found out that it has a thin line running through the LCD display.
The thin line empties out the original display, making that part "invisible".
What should I do? What can be done to recover the display?

The blank line is gone now.
But the player just subjected to some rough shock and now it doesn't seem to boot.
I tired running Rescue Mode, but it just doesn't seem to absorb enough power!
When I try switching it on, upon releasing my hold on the play/power button, it shuts itself down.
On several trys, it reboots itself again and shut of for 2 times.
    What should I do?
Should I go down to the service support centre, if so, how long would it take on the average to get it fixed?

  • MuVo2 FM Freezes, hangs, completely stops work

I have had the MuVo2 FM 5GB?for about 5 months and I am sorry I bought it. This unit is so temperamental I have to constantly work with it to even get it to function!? I have updated with the latest firmware but constantly the battery drains, the menus stops functioning, I have had to pull the battery out so many times to get control of the unit again. Has anyone else experience this issue?

We have exactly the same problem on our Windows servers, also Dual core Xeon, running Windows Server 2003 SP 1, with 2Gb physical RAM. We have two Windows servers behind Cisco load balancers.
When we get this problem, CPU and memory usage seems normal. The Throughput graph in Monitoring -> Performance flat lines at zero, the Queue length goes up by the second and the Garbage collection graph flat lines at whatever value it was at when the service appeared to hang.
The Java memory settings are: -Xms512m -Xmx1024m
Can anyone help, please? I have had to manually restart the services on both servers about 10 times so far this morning! This is unusual, but we do have an unsually heavy load this morning.
    Many thanks
