  • Nomad Muvo2 fm (5GB) should I buy

I'm thinking of getting the Nomad muvo2 fm (5GB) I know it's a older model but its stats still shape up pretty well. Can any one give me reasons not to buy it's Or if they have had problems with them.
I'm worried about buying the Zen Micro because of the problem with jack.

I generally hear good things about the MuVo?, there are of course some players that have had problems like any player.

    What can I do?
The Serial Number in the player is: MPF036044000226V
Thanks for your help and sorry for the bad english I'm from Germany.. ;-)

There's a limit with the MuVo players of 28 files in the root, so chances are there's the same file system limitation with the MuVo?. The way to get around it is to simply use folders to organies your files, so delete at least some files then you should be able to create folders.

I guess it depends on the problem. If you still have a warrenty then you dont have to pay. But i guess it depends on what is wrong

  • Muvo2 FM 5GB Charging Prob

hi, my friend just gave me the above player, i had problem charging the player using USB player,?when i connect it to my pc, it only sync between the pc and player for transferring files but it's not charging at all, how do i go about to charge the batt? do i have wait till EMPTY battery before i can charge it's?please kind advise thanks

Double click on My Computer and then right click on the MuVo2.
Click Eject, but leave the player connected, it should then charge.
Leave it attached until it's full (3 bars).
Careful charging via USB as it must have least one bar of power before you can start to do so.

  • Muvo2 (1.5gb) hardware iss

I recently received a second-hand Muvo2, and while *in general* it functions correctly, I have noticed some problems.
    * When connected to a PC, the device "clicks" persistently.
    * Still connected to the PC, Windows sporadically stops recognising the device. (It's not an issue with the cables, I've already tested that)
    * Random songs skip. After reloading all data the problem still occurs, but *not* on the same songs (so the file(s) can not be corrupt)
    * I purchased an FM remote for it, which intermittently loses power or will not start up.
I've formatted the device, run a scandisk and updated the latest firmware, however the problems still occur. As it is a second-hand device, I've no idea when it was purchased, but it is almost certainly out of warranty. To the best of my knowledge it has never been dropped, damaged or anything else.
Are these common issues with the Muvo2? Is it possible to purchase a new HDD for it, or must it be sent away for repair? As it's out of warranty, is it still possible to send it for repair? Are there any other suggestions?

oh bugger. that's the only way? argh. jurong here i come.
haha thanks man. oh btw, did they say what caused that to happen?

  • Nomad Muvo2 1.5gb Firmware prob

    Hi,
When i insert the battery, the nomad muvo 2 automatically power on and freeze on "Muvo 2". In the recovery mode i can't format or do anything, because the player freezes. The computer don't recognizes the player, and i can't update the firmware. What is the solution?
    Raul Nakano

If Rescue Mode is not working the player is faulty unfortunately.

  • Zen Micro 5gb probl

Hello all... I am new to the forum and I thought I would ask these questions to see if anyone else has run into them and how to correct if they can be. Here goes....
) Battery li've is abysimal to say the least. This is my second player, third battery. Newest firmware available is loaded, and hasn't helped at all. Fully charged (overnight charge), power on even for a few minutes, power off....three hours later, dead. It isn't the battery as I have done the test of fully charge, take out, put it in next day....still full charge. Also, once powered down (through the switch), I can still hear an electronic whine, not the hard dri've clicking, but something else. It's faint, but I am almost certain it this whine is connected to the battery drain. Tried putting idle shutdown to fi've minutes, didn't help either. Any ideas? I repeat, newest firmware installed, and battery not even 2 months old.
    2) Where did the radio go? I saw this post somewhere else, but nobody had a really good answer other than "reload the firmware". Been there, done that...same result.
    3) Are there any Creative-approved 2V cigarrette lighter plugs for this? I found the charger for a Motorola Blackberry works, but I dont think it has enough current to fully charge the battery or maintain battery levels while it's playing.
    Thanks and regards!

"That whine is probably the dri've still acti've (listen for it after 4 hours, when it goes into deep sleep)."
If the battery life lasted that long. I could still hear this whine after a few hours of power down. And I dont think its the dri've either. I know the dri've has its "clicks" and "whirring" sounds, but this is a higher-pitched sound that I am hearing, much like the pitch you hear from a tv tube when it powers up.
"What bitrate are your songs encoded at? How much do you use the controls on the Micro when it's playing? And how long is your backlight set for?"
Anwhere from 28 to 92, mostly mp3, some wma. I use the controls mainly for track advance, no eq or smartsound, volume louder than normal, and minimal backlight time. However, I would think all of that is irrelevant since I am losing juice powered down. My complaint isn't battery drain while player is playing...complaint is battery drain while player isn't being used. Guess I should have put that in my first post!
"As for the radio, did you configure your menu? Is the option for the radio missing? If so, just reconfigure your menu. "
Did that. Option isn't even there for a radio. Microphone, organizer, calender, and hard dri've. No radio.
Thanks for responding back. I hope this narrows down some of the usual suspects.

  • Muvo2 FM - probl

    my muvo2 FM 5Gb doesn't work anymore!!
its stuck on the start up screen Muvo2 FM for ages and doesn't turn off unless i take the battery out
it is still stuck even after i plug it into the USB.
    what should i do?

    sookiified wrote:
No, i can't seem to even get that far.
It doesn't go into the menu or the rescue mode because i've already tried.
If you can't get into rescue mode, and definitely followed the instructions, then the player is faulty. You need to contact support.

As i am stubben i usually dont read the manuals b4 i do something and then i read that it says do not connect the player b4 you install software, but i though surely that cant be it because its XP and i really shouldn't have to install software anyway...
Correct. The USB mass storage players use a driver from Windows, as long as you are using Me, 2000 or XP.
What's actually wrong, is the player not being detected? Is it showing in Device Manager?

  • My Muvo Square FM 5GB has a pr

    I bought a MuVo2 FM 5GB a month back.
This morning, I found out that it has a thin line running through the LCD display.
The thin line empties out the original display, making that part "invisible".
What should I do? What can be done to recover the display?

The blank line is gone now.
But the player just subjected to some rough shock and now it doesn't seem to boot.
I tired running Rescue Mode, but it just doesn't seem to absorb enough power!
When I try switching it on, upon releasing my hold on the play/power button, it shuts itself down.
On several trys, it reboots itself again and shut of for 2 times.
    What should I do?
Should I go down to the service support centre, if so, how long would it take on the average to get it fixed?

  • MuVo2 FM Freezes, hangs, completely stops work

I have had the MuVo2 FM 5GB?for about 5 months and I am sorry I bought it. This unit is so temperamental I have to constantly work with it to even get it to function!? I have updated with the latest firmware but constantly the battery drains, the menus stops functioning, I have had to pull the battery out so many times to get control of the unit again. Has anyone else experience this issue?

We have exactly the same problem on our Windows servers, also Dual core Xeon, running Windows Server 2003 SP 1, with 2Gb physical RAM. We have two Windows servers behind Cisco load balancers.
When we get this problem, CPU and memory usage seems normal. The Throughput graph in Monitoring -> Performance flat lines at zero, the Queue length goes up by the second and the Garbage collection graph flat lines at whatever value it was at when the service appeared to hang.
The Java memory settings are: -Xms512m -Xmx1024m
Can anyone help, please? I have had to manually restart the services on both servers about 10 times so far this morning! This is unusual, but we do have an unsually heavy load this morning.
    Many thanks
