MuVo2 FM 5.0GB Playli

I have a question regarding playlist management on my newly purchased MuVo2 FM mp3 player. I am posting because I have found the manual and the pdf help file to be fairly inadequate in a lot of places.
Can I put all the mp3/wma files into the root directory and then have playlists over them whereby a song may be referenced in more than play list?
I am aware that it's easier to put together the playlists on the pc and then just drag them across to the device, and I've had no problems doing that and putting the songs onto the player. The one thing I am trying to avoid is doubling up on songs that appear in more than play list.
I hope I have made sense here - I'm only new to this stuff so please bear with me.

Thanks for your prompt answer yesterday carni - much appreciated.
I managed to move the files around on my player and edit the playlists - all seems to be working well now.
However, there is a(nother) problem with the organising software: regardless of the setting in the playlist creation options to create a directory for the tracks, a directory is created when you add files to the newly created playlist. This meant a fair bit more mucking around than I expected - about three hours in total.
Luckily I am fairly computer literate and am willing to give things a go, otherwise I'd not have been able to accomplish the rearrangement of the tracks on the player.
Overall though, I am quite impressed with the MuVo2 FM 5.0GB player - sound quality is good, FM reception is adequate, and navigating the menus to set options is fairly straight forward.
If anyone else needs to know how to do this I would be only too happy to outline the process in a posting on this forum.

My muvo2 fm 5.0gb cannot recognize by my computer.

the problem is, when i checked the information on my mp3, the free space is 0mb and the total space is 4749 mb. then i connect it to my computer, and the os is winsdows xp, the thing is it will recognize my mp3 but the problem is the computer can't recognize it as muvo and the word is removable disc. i cannot open it, nor explore it. i already tried to delete some songs, actually many songs but again, there is still no free space.

SONGS DOWNLOAD PROTEC

I just downloaded 2 songs from Soundbuzz. Could play it from my laptop but not on my MuVo FM. The message Copy Protected is displayed when the song is selected. Can someone please tell how I can solve this problem?

MuVo2 FM 5.0GB. I used the Mediasource software to transfer the songs to the MuVo. This is not the first time I downloaded songs so I am puzzled why this is happening. I had no problem previously.

ok the same thing happened to mine the other day. connect it up to your computer. then right click on whatever dri've it is in and click properties, then click on the tools tab and click on the Error checking "check now" button. that will scan ur player for errors, etc. after that u can also run a scan on ur muvo by getting into the recovery mode. but dont worry after you do the first scan it should be fine. recovery mode is not a bad thing

MuVo2 not uploading playli

My new MuVo2 does not seem to upload playlists which have been created in Mediasource. Also, in the'sources' window on media centre software (V2.03.29) there is no player 'icon', and no settings button to go into - thus I can't configure to upload playllists and files within them & create directories - as explained in the Mediasource HELP file.
So far the only way I can get my ripped CD's to play tracks in the correct order is to just drag & drop folders of the album name (with the tracks within) across to the root directory of my MuVo2. Unless I do this, all the tracks just upload in alphabetical order !

I have a MuVo 2 and use Mediasource software.
When creating playlists (in the usual way following instructions), I end up with a separate folder in my actual player lists that duplicates the playlist title and contents - if I delete it off, the playlist content disappears, but having another folder takes up valuable space.
Can anyone tell me if this is a regular feature or if I am doing something wrong when creating playlists?

MuVo2 load time with long playl

I recently purchased a MuVo2 because I liked the form factor and sound quality. The small size of the display wasn't going to bother me because I plan to make liberal use of playlists for driving and what not. I created a playlist of approximately 300 MP3s using Windows Media Player, but when I tried to play it, the MuVo2 would hang. After a few tries I realized that the MuVo2 wasn't freezing, it was just taking a (really, really long) long time to load the playlist. When I pared the playlist down to about 20-30 MP3s, I got the load time down to an acceptable time. However, if I put the same 300 MP3s into a folder and just played the folder, the load time was also acceptable.
My question is: Is the long load time due to the fact that the MuVo2 is a hard dri've based player? If I swapped out the 4GB hard dri've and replaced it with a 4GB compact flash card, would it take the same amount of time to load long playlists? My guess is that it's not because of the hard dri've, because I used to own an iPod and didn't have the same problem with long playlists.

My 9 year old daughter received this mp3 player last year for christmas and I was wondering if there are any speaker systems or docking stations that go with it's Also, I am thinking about getting her a home shelf stereo system for christmas this year--can you some how hook the Nomad MuVo 4.0 up to it's If so, are there special cables needed?

Thanks so much for replying. I was just thinking of buying my daughter some kind of stereo system around $00 for christmas. I just want to make sure that she will be able to hook up her Nomad and listen to the songs that she has on the nomad thru the stereo. I have no clue as to which system I will be buying but if you could tell me what I need to look for, that would be great. Audio in? Audio out? Got me!!

Muvo2 won't switch o

My Muvo2 4.0gb won't switch off or let me select songs. I have tried to access the recovery mode but the message "Recovery Mode" will not appear after reinserting the battery whilst holding down the menu button. Any suggestions?

Gi've it a few more try, If you are still unable to enter recovery then it's likely you will need to contact support for repair options.

XP hangs with MuVo2 4.

My MuVo2 4.0gb works perfectly with W98se but when I connect it to my PC which is loaded with XP pro it causes the whole system to hang until I disconnect the USB lead. I have tried it on a PC with XP home and it works fine. I've tried uninstalling the driver with the Mp3 connected and various other tricks without success. Any ideas?

My best guess is some sort of conflict. I've tried a number of the ports without success. I did have it working briefly when I gave it a try half way through the process of loading all of my software onto the newly installed XP machine. I've no idea which item is causing the problem but the only other USB devices that I've got are a printer and a broadband modem. I can't do without either so it looks like I'm stuck!

Issues with using 6.0Gb/s drive with W520 and Windows 7

I ordered 2 ThinkPad 500GB 7200RPM SATA 3.0GB/s 7mm 4K hard drives and was instead shipped 2 6.0GB/s drives. Even though the outside of the box has the correct configuration that I ordered. I installed the drive in the W520 and tried to run my company's OS installation script. This script encrypts the hard drive then does the installation of the OS, apps, Windows 7 drivers, updates SP1, etc. I got the BSOD several times during the installation, It took two times before I got the completed install. When I login I get BSOD plus many apati errors and the system hangs all kinds of ways. It's usually the display that goes back to an empty wallpaper but the mouse works and there are no icons on the desktop. I can startup and go into safe mode with networking and never have a problem. I called Lenovo Tech support and they say there are no special drivers needed for the 6.0GB/s type of drive and encryption does not matter. I have gone through Device Manager and ran the update driver option on all ATAPI controllers, disk drivers, Bus Host Controllers, chipset, etc. There are no errors in Device Manager. My thought is the 6.0GB/s is causing some conflict with something, perhaps refresh rate, disk read/writes, page file, I/O, memory, etc. Just don't know. Have searched the web and do not get much help. There is some talk about cables for 6.0GB/s but not much info.
Any ideas? Thank you all.

I too have a W520. I have a SATA III hard drive in my primary bay - no problems. I have booted off a SATA III SSD in the Ultrabay, also no problem. I don't believe your troubles are SATA III related.

Creative Cloud Help / Manage and sync files web page states the following:
Note: A small portion of space is used for administrative purposes so the actual storage space will be slightly less. The amount used varies based on number of user files, generally 100-500kb is used for administrative purposes.
However, there's nothing in FILES or ARCHIVE, so what's using 769.1MB/20.0GB?? This a consistent situation.

The problem has been fixed. You will now find 6 files in a folder beginning with 'Recovered'.

My Sandisk cruzer thumb drive 4.0GB (which is very old, roughly 10 years and I'm not sure about the model) reads "The disk you inserted was not readable by this computer" when inserted in my Macbook pro 2010. How do I get it to work?

My Macbook Pro 2010 with the latest OS does not open a particular Sandisk Cruzer 4.0GB (which is an old model, about 10 years) thumbdrive with the message "The disk you inserted was not readable by this computer". Will I be able to read it on my macbook?

Is it readable in a Windows computer? If not then you can try Disk Utility to repair the drive-- although that may be dangerous too.
I haven't had this problem so I out of safe ideas. There are ustilies out there. I used the seach term "repair flash drive Mac OS X" to locate some of these.
If the data is essential there are pay-for services to recover data looked the price was in the range $50 - $1000

Why does any file over 2gb just list as 2.0gb and downloads imcomplete?

When i try to download my exercise files from a website, firefox or Waterfox just says 2.0gb and will download with no errors.When i try to unzip file,Winrar says its incomplete.I am using windows 7 64 bit and NTFS formatted drive.This also happens in any other browser as well.At school they have Macs and i can download it just fine.I called my ISP so they're not the problem either.It seems there is a 2gb limit here

It is possible that anti-virus software is corrupting downloaded files or is interfering otherwise.
Try to disable the real-time (live) scanning of files in your anti-virus software temporarily to see if that makes downloading work.

Nomad MuVo2 File organization H

Hey all, I have a 4 GB MuVo2 and I was wondering how I can organize my files within a folder by track number. When I view a folder in Windows, I can select Details to show name, album, track, etc. I can then sort by track number for an album and it will rearrange my files by track, ,2,3, etc. When I upload that folder to my MuVo2, they are?put in alphabetical order. Does the MuVo2 only read and organize by name? Would the ONLY way to get these files in order by track is to put an 0, 02, 03 etc. in front of each name on each file

you;d have to put the "0,02,03.etc" in front of the track names, I had a movo2 and had the same question, but worked it out quickly... It's not really that time consuming, and worth it if you want to scroll through songs
