Muvo2 fm and muvo2

Does the muvo2 fm 5gb nad the muvo2 4gb work with apple' s macintosh?

You'll have to convert the tracks. There are various methods, one of which is described here in the Nomadness.net forum. The picture links are broken now, but it should be clear what you need to do.

  • MediaSource 5 and Muvo2

I have recently installed MediaSource 5 for?our 2 new?Zen Vision W's. I'm trying to get our Muvo2 4GB players to show up in it so that we can manage all in one program. I downlaoded the "Creative MuVo? plugin .0.05 for Creative MediaSource [size="" color="#222222">(9.76 MB) " dated "[size="" color="#222222">6 Sep 05 "; when I tried to download it, it said I needed to have MediaSource version 3.20 or greater to install (I've only got version 5.0.25... I have prediously used RedChair software's Notmad product to manage the music on the Muvo2's, and that still works; I just wanted to try to use the same program, and had only used Notmad when the Creative software at the time kept hanging on transfers... Can anyone help?

Did you install the other two plugins as well? There are two other downloads one is to allow MediaCenter 5 to Support playsforsure devices and the other is for CDROM burners. With out the playforsure plugin it won't recognize the ZVM. Doesn't look like that plugin was included in the main MC5 download/installer.
No I did not install those two updates. Without reading the detail for those files, I didn't realize they were necessary, especially since I never opted to install PlaysForSure on the Micro.
Thanks to your reply, I have installed those two updates and the ZVM is recognized fine.
It is interesting that MediaSource 5.0.38 that does not have the PlaysForSure plugin installed will not recognize a Micro that has not been upgraded to PlaysForSure either. I can also confirm that the Micro will not be recognized even after installing the PlaysForSure plugin for MediaSource, which is what Creative indicates will happen. I will probably go ahead and upgrade the Micro's firmware to PlaysForSure. I'll lose a little disk space, but at least it will use the same software.
    Thanks!

  • MuVo2 not uploading playli

My new MuVo2 does not seem to upload playlists which have been created in Mediasource. Also, in the'sources' window on media centre software (V2.03.29) there is no player 'icon', and no settings button to go into - thus I can't configure to upload playllists and files within them & create directories - as explained in the Mediasource HELP file.
So far the only way I can get my ripped CD's to play tracks in the correct order is to just drag & drop folders of the album name (with the tracks within) across to the root directory of my MuVo2. Unless I do this, all the tracks just upload in alphabetical order !

There was a recent Muvo2 driver update for MediaSource.
Connect your Muvo2 to your system, then go to Creative's <A HREF="http://us.creative.com/support/downloads/su.asp]Software AutoUpdate page[/url].

  • MuVo2 playli

    Hi
I have a MuVo 2 and use Mediasource software.
When creating playlists (in the usual way following instructions), I end up with a separate folder in my actual player lists that duplicates the playlist title and contents - if I delete it off, the playlist content disappears, but having another folder takes up valuable space.
Can anyone tell me if this is a regular feature or if I am doing something wrong when creating playlists?
    thanks

  • Nomad MuVo2 File organization H

Hey all, I have a 4 GB MuVo2 and I was wondering how I can organize my files within a folder by track number. When I view a folder in Windows, I can select Details to show name, album, track, etc. I can then sort by track number for an album and it will rearrange my files by track, ,2,3, etc. When I upload that folder to my MuVo2, they are?put in alphabetical order. Does the MuVo2 only read and organize by name? Would the ONLY way to get these files in order by track is to put an 0, 02, 03 etc. in front of each name on each file

you;d have to put the "0,02,03.etc" in front of the track names, I had a movo2 and had the same question, but worked it out quickly... It's not really that time consuming, and worth it if you want to scroll through songs

  • Muvo2 1.5 GB: Can't upgrade firmw

I just got a Muvo2 .5 GB and was told to upgrade the firmware. I got both the latest American upgrade (-6-) and the European (-2-0e).
After the Muvo removed the present firmware I'm not able to load the new firmware. I get the errormessage: your player is not conntected, please connect your player. But it is connected, I can access it as a dri've. I even bought a new USB cable just in case, but this also doesn't seem to solve the problem. Strange is tha when it is connected, I can only see the screen with the Muvo picture that is connected via USB. I can't access the recovery mode options while it's connected.
Can someone please give some hints?

Normally you should run the reload firmware routine, then connect it to the PC straight afterwards for the firmware update.

  • Muvo2 stuck in recov

    Hello
I am having a problem - I've tried searching the forum but everyone seems to be on Zens now and my poor little Muvo2 seems rather old hat! Either way I haven't found an answer to my current problem. It was fine this morning and then when I tried to transfer an album it started to go a bit strange. First of all although it was showing the album folder on my pc it wasn't on the player when I disconnected it. Then it decided to go into recovery mode and won't come out of it.
However, when I reconnect it to my PC it is still showing that all the folders are there, I just can't get to them. Some of them are coming up as corrupted and unreadable but not all of them...
I've tried clean up, removing and replacing battery, poking the little reset hole underneath the battery - nothing.
My Muvo2 seems to be stuck in Smartscan and I'm getting the message
    Smartscan failed
    unable to proceed
    Press MENU to start recovery
So I do and I get Recovery Mode v.00 followed by the 5 options, which I've tried (except Format All because I really don't want to have to start loading all over again if I can avoid it - there's stuff I only have on my player...)
Can anyone give me any advice on what to do and whether this is a problem I can resolve?
    Thanks
    Em

    Thanks Jason for your reply.
I ended up wiping it and going back to the beginning, which is kind of a pain for having to reload everything but on the other hand (glass half full mode [ON]) it was probably time for some swap-outs and getting other parts of my CD collection on there....
It seems to be alright now anyway.

  • Creative Muvo2 FM freezing on start

    Hi everyone,
If anyone can help me with this I'd greatly appreciate it. My muvo froze the other day on a song, and wouldn't turn off - after removing the battery and replacing it, it gets stuck on the 'Muvo2 FM' screen won't do anything else, and it doesn't get recognized on a PC.
Any ideas? I'm currently in Thailand on holiday, so am unable to check with customer service or warranty info.
    Thanks!

Thanks for replying Glenzen. I've tried that a few times, as well as just connecting it to AC without battery, and just USB, but it keeps freezing on the Muvo2 screen. Oh well, biggest pain is all my music is lost now!

  • Muvo2 Battery drains o

Hello everyone, I need a help. My Muvo2 is acting weird - it looks like the player itself drains out the battery. When I charge it at the night & switch it on next afternoon, battery indicator shows me only one bar! I tried 4 different batteries - it's all the same. Any help will be really appreciated. Thanks in advance...

A 1A charger really will not be enough when using the phone for navigation if you want to keep the charge up. I have the Anker 13000mAh battery which has both a 1A and a 2A charging connector and when using the 1A while on the bike using navigation, tracker and media player the 1020 will slowly drain still. On the 2A port it stays at full charge as long as the Anker is able to provide enough power (which is easily a full day under these conditions).

  • Muvo2 FM 5GB Charging Prob

hi, my friend just gave me the above player, i had problem charging the player using USB player,?when i connect it to my pc, it only sync between the pc and player for transferring files but it's not charging at all, how do i go about to charge the batt? do i have wait till EMPTY battery before i can charge it's?please kind advise thanks

Double click on My Computer and then right click on the MuVo2.
Click Eject, but leave the player connected, it should then charge.
Leave it attached until it's full (3 bars).
Careful charging via USB as it must have least one bar of power before you can start to do so.

    Hello everyone.
I recently broke my macbook, and had to replace it with a pc laptop. I have my data saved on a time machine enabled external hard drive.
How can I use that hard drive to put my files (music/word documents) to the pc?
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Sadly, in your case, the TM backup is practically useless. TM provides a backup primarily for the machine to which it is connected, and then, only through the TM interface engine, never directly.
The files are not stored in a linear manner as would be in a regular backup - they are linked to each other and each "file" only represents a "delta" or incremental backup unit. The TM engine knows how to reconnect all the links to create the proper file.
What you need to do is get another Macbook similar to yours, and see if you can connect to the TM backup with TM. If you can, then you can restore the files and them copy them onto a FAT32 formatted external HD.
If you network the borrowed Mac with the PC, you can transfer the files over the network, but in any case, you have to use the TM engine to do so.
The only files on the TM backup that are most likely "normal" would be the original files created during the first backup.

  • Problem with Muvo2 FM 5.

I'm having a problem with my Muvo2 FM mp3 player.. First when i tried to change songs, it showed "playback error" After i switched it off and switched it on, it took a long time to load at the "CREATIVE" "welcome note" and i finally got to the recovery mode automatically.. over there whichever option i select, either "connect to pc" or "format" or "run pc scandisk" neither of it worked.. it will state Media Error.. What's the problem with my mp3 player? Please help me..

I have the same problem as you do. The player always goes to the recovery mode, and whichever option I choose, it only shows "Media Error". When I connect the player to my pc, my computer cannot detect it.
Well, I just bought the player yesterday, and I'm going for an exchange.... Hope the new one doesn't have the same problem.Message Edited by wonghei on 0-25-2005 0:08 PM

  • Newbie Muvo2 4GB File Deletion Question/Car Casse

Hey Guys, Just got the Muvo2 Nomad from J&R. $40 after rebate. Anyway, I got it mainly to download MP3s of a radio broadcast. Each file is about 5MB in size, netting about 43 minutes of audio per file (@48k). At this rate, if my math is correct, the Muvo2 will hold approx 270 of these files before the 4GB dri've is full. How do you experienced Nomad users prefer deleting your files? Should I just let the dri've get completely full then delete, or delete the files every couple of weeks or so? Or split it down the middle?
Also, do you guys have a favorite way of piping the Nomad's output into a car's cassette deck/AM/FM radio? I have seen the cassette adapters and the FM transmitters, and would like to know if one method is considered superior by experienced users. My car's AM/FM/Cassette is OEM from Nissan in 994, a bit long in the tooth and certainly not top of the line. Thanks in advance for any feedback... Clashrule

As far as file management goes, I would say do whatever works for you. Do you archi've the shows?
A cassette adapter is going to be better quality than an FM broadcaster. More on car connection here in the Zen FAQ at Nomadness.net (although it's for the Zen, it's equally applicable to the MuVo) http://www.nomadness.net/modules.php...+Jukebox+Zen#2

  • MuVo2 not detected in

I've been having problems with trying to get my PC to recognize my 4GB MuVo2. When I plug the USB cable in, the little notification balloon appears at the system tray telling me that the 'USB device is not recognized'. The odd thing is, if I try a couple of times, it will work. Just never at the first try. I've tried it on another PC, with different cables, with and without the battery, reformatted the thing, reloaded the firmware, scanned the disk ... I think I've done it all! I've even tried cleaning the USB port contacts by using a camera lens blower to clear out the dust. No difference. This is the first time the problem has appeared in my almost two years of having the MuVo2. Any ideas, anyone?

Are you trying to use one of the main USB ports, not the extra front-mounted ones, or those attached to a keyboard or monitor? Sometimes these can't provide the power needed by the player.
