Muxing Preparation problem during encoding

during the iDVD encoding process, I get an message of "muxing preparation error'. I am burning from an FCP 6 project. I've tried to burn the project on different computers and with different iDVD themes, with audio and without. I've even re-built the Quicktime movie from FCP several times with different codecs. It's been tried on an Intel Mac and a Motorola Mac. Same muxing problem each time. Help!

The problem was discovered! I'm a TV Production instructor and the project was a student's. The student had made an error in his FCP project by putting a piece of video and audio about 12 minutes past the actual end. When iDVD's encoding process encountered this, it didn't know what to do with 12 minutes of "video nothing". So it gave the muxing prep error. I had him delete the unneeded video and iDVD is burning it now without a problem. He now knows to end projects when they actually end! Thanks for the help.

Same thing just happened to me. I re-output my quicktime movie with chapter markers turned off. You probably have a chapter mark set too close to the beginning, end or near a transition. I didn't have time to futz with the markers so I just turned them off.
Muxing stands for multiplexing. It's when iDVD takes all the data layers, video, audio etc. and multiplexes them into one data stream. When you play the dvd in your player that one data stream is DE-Muxed back into the original layers.
When you give iDVD a quicktime movie with chapter marks it encodes those chapters as separate mpeg 2 clips. When it muxes it combines everything into one stream. If there are any inconsistencies then muxing fails.
DVD Studio pro gives a more detailed log when muxing fails. It usually involves problems with chapter marks.

Why is there an "error during muxing preparation?"

Suddenly I keep getting error messages in my iDVD 08 version 7.0.2 (1100). It was working fine a coupledays ago and then I upgraded to Snow Leopard (from 10.5.8 to 10.6.3) and I think at same time the install gave me QuickTime 10.0 (I had had QT 7.6.9 before). Now I’ve tried four short videos to burn DVD and each time I get the message “There was an error during muxing preparation (projection conversion).”I use Final Cut Express 4.0 and exported first via Quick Time movie and then via Mpeg4 to see if that made a difference. (It didn’t.) I’ve worked a long time to do a five-minute video on my eldest son to give him as a present, andnow I can’t burn it. Any and all help greatly appreciated. (BTW, on web, I saw that one issue might be I don’t have enough disc space, but I’ve got 101 GBfree, so that can’t be it.)

Looks like there are some other posts on this and it could be related to chapter markers and transitions. Also, Quicktime is a "container" format and the underlying format (codec) could be part of the problem -- have you used that specific format and work flow previously?

No. Are you saving the project as a disk image rather than burning directly to disk from iDVD? If not then that's what I suggest you do. That will separate the encoding process from the burn process to save time and disks if the encoding is bad. It also lets you burn a second or third disk without having to encode again.

Multiplexing error, Muxing preparation

Ok I have tried following iDVD's instructions by inserting a blank DVD when it asks. I've tried mounting the DVD on my Finder. I've even tried just making a dmg file from iDVD. I continue to get a Multiplexing error: There was an error during muxing preparation.
I've checked my chapter markers in iMovie. I've recompiled in iMovie without errors.
What is happening????

Thanks for the input. I had noted earlier in this project that I had about 50GB of free space on my system drive. After reading your comment, I checked and had only 20GB or so. In clearing out some disk space I found huge scratch file folders from iMovie in my Trash folder. Emptying the trash resulted in nearly 37GB of free space on this drive now. I'm currently trying to burn a very small project I had successfully burned as a test in iDVD before to see if I get the error. I suspect it is the scratch disk issue that has caused all of the fuss. Amazing how much drive space is eaten using these programs. I'm surprised that iMovie doesn't do better housekeeping.
As I typed the above I finished clearing nearly 37GB from my system disk and successfully burned the small test project directly from iDVD. I'm hoping that we've solved this problem. I know I'll be a lot more attentive to my scratch disk space. Thanks, I'll post it solved after I burn the first DVD of the real thing.

RFC connection problem during SRM - R/3 integration

Hi,
Our environment is SRM 5.5 server with 2 R/3 backend systems. One of the R/3 systems is in another country. We happen to have RFC problems during the communication between the SRM and R/3 server.

Premiere Pro / Media Encoder crash during encoding

Afternoon guys, wonder if anyone has any tips on how to solve my issue. It's a new pc that I'm working on, my first project on it, everything working great in terms of the edit, but crashing whilst encoding both through Premiere Pro and Media Encoder with an error message (below). I'm not great with this stuff so please let me know if I need to provide more info and I'll provide much information as I can.
I'm a creative cloud user.
-Premiere Pro cs 6 (6.0.3) - I have tried to re-install the software, and ran all the updates yesterday after the install. Problem still persists.
-Encoder cs6 (6.0.3.1)
-Windows 7 Professional service pack 1, 64bit. Whilst I was online re-installing Premiere Pro windows did some updates (I generally keep my editing pc's offline).
-DSLR footage (.mov) for video, up to 3 sources of video (nested for multicam shoot) and running one source of audio (mp3 file). Two of the timelines I'm trying to encode are about 45 minutes long.. I have succesfully encoded other clips (a 5 minute, and a 35 minute previously. Miraculously this morning I encoded a 1h12m clip using the mpeg2-dvd preset with only adjustment of quality bumped from 4 to 5). So this was encoded after all the updates, however since then everything else is not working.
-Initially encoder was either freezing, or giving me an error message. Since re-installing all the software yesterday it now does not freeze, but I get the error message: "Adobe Media Encoder CS6.0 has stopped working... A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." I get the same message when encoding with both AME and Premiere Pro. I click "close" from here and nothing else happens.
-Trying to export to mpeg2-dvd, I have tried the PAL widescreen preset, as well as trying to adjust the settings, doesn't seem to make a difference, the error message pops up different points during encoding.
-The only plugin I have used is magic bullet looks for some grading. It also fails to encode with no plugins used.
-PC     - Intel i7-3770 @ 3.40ghz,
          - 32GB ram
          - Operating system and Adobe Suite on c: (SSD 240gb)
          - Project source footage (video, audio, etc) f: (2tb)
          - Encoding files to e: (SSD 240gb)
          - my case is an Antec 902, with no additional fans. It does sound like it's working harder during encoding, not sure if a heat issue could be causing the software to error?
-I am using the mercury playback engine with a Gefore gtx 680 (2gb).
I have not been able to find any definitive answeres with regard to the crashes. I did also have encoder hanging whilst reading the xmp file. I have tried encoding video only (audio disabled) and whilst it doesn't hang during reading of xmp file, it still stops working with the above error message.
I also run an older PC with i920, 24gig, gtx570 and it never crashes but performs much slower. It is also running windows 7, same setup but different hardware. Not sure if the hardware on my new pc could be causing the issues, if you you guys have any troubleshooting tips it would be much appreciated. At this point i have tried starting a new project, new timelines, nothing seems to work, so I have transferred the data to my old pc for encoding (as I need to deliver the discs to a client), but I need to get this new setup working properly.

Thanks for your suggestions, I just tried cleaning out the media cache and also rendered out a wav file of the audio and placed it in the timeline and deleted the mp3 version.. Tried once again to encode an mpeg2-dvd file.
1st attempt encoding through Media Encoder, pal widescreen with variable bit rate set to 6, 7 and 8 = everything froze, had to restart via button.
2nd attempt encoding through Media Encoder = this time tried video only same settings just no audio = same error (Adobe Media Encoder cs6.0 has stopped working...)
3rd attempt encoding through Premiere Pro, same settings with audio = same error message.
4th attempt encoding through Media Encoder, pal wide preset as standard with no change = same error message.
5th attempt encoding through Media Encoder, h264 preset for vimeo, 720p = same error message.
6th attempt encoding through Media Encoder, AVI (Uncompressed) 720 x 480 preset. 1m40s in the dreaded blue screen appeared. "A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer. A clock interrupt was not received on a secondary processor within the allocated time interval. " Bla bla bla.
In all instances the encoding is absolutely flying, but always ends up crashing.

Another headache - "problem during multiplexing/burning - buffer underun"

After many iDVD issues, I finally got the burning process of my DVD project.. half way through it spit my DVD out and gave me these errors:
"Errors were found during the burning process:
The recording device reported the illegal request: Buffer underrun. (0x21, 0x02.)
There was a problem during multiplexing/burning."
What is this supposed to mean and how can I just burn my DVD?!

It's been awhile since I had this error crop up, but I know 2 things that caused it for me.
1) Bad DVD media. It happened a lot when I was using some cheap, off brand DVD-R's. More expensive Sony DVD's (white) are much better and more consistent. The time wasted with bad burns from bad DVD media is not worth the time.
2) It could even be a problem with your DVD burner going bad, but not as likely. I did have one SuperDrive replaced because I started having problems even with good, recommended brands of DVD media. However, try getting some better media first. Don't buy a lot. Try out a small package of DVD-R's or buy a disc from a friend to try out a brand.
Another possibility: Lack of sufficient, free hard drive space. Here's what iDVD 6's help file states:
"When you burn a DVD, iDVD needs temporary space on your hard disk to store the encoded files for your project. To burn your iDVD project to a single-layer DVD disc, you should have 8-10 gigabytes (GB) of free disk space on your hard disk, depending on the size of your project. For double-layer discs, you need 15-20 GB of free disk space."

You might also want to defragment your hard drive (with a 3rd party utiility such as TechTool Pro) so that you don't have a fragmented hard drive when burning a project.
Speed rating of the DVD media- I've seen reports that some SuperDrives work best with media rated the same as it's maximum burn speed (e.g.- 4x, 8x, etc). I would recommend trying to find media that matches your SuperDrive burn speed, or no more than twice the burn speed.

You didn't mention which version of iDVD you were using or which operating system. Sometimes other users have tips for you based on that info.

Problem during Add row in View Object : View Row of Key Not found

I'm facing this problem during insert of new row in the view object. I'm having 2 entities that belong to the same DB table (I need this because one is required with the composition assoc and the other one without it).
I have three tables, COMPANY, USERS and PRIVILEGES.
Company (1) to USERS (N)
USERS (1) to PRIVILGES (N)
While adding users for a specific company , i get this error msg.
P.S: I'm not getting this error, if i add company, then user. Only if i directly add users i'm getting this error.

as my vo are based on procedure, i know that i can't update the table using them.
i only wanted to insert the rows in the vo and show it to user (only for selection purpose).
Now my problem is sorted as i have changed the code like this-

The ldap standard (rfc 2251) defines an anonymous user as a user with a null passsword. By default, Active Directory does not allow anonymous users to perform searches against the directory, let alone reset a user's password.

Problem during burning multiplexing/burning error appers, please help!

I made a movie in imovie that is 1 hour long and contains still pictures and video. It also contains music all the way through it. I exported it to idvd then tried to burn it. It took almost 7 hours for it to get to the burn phase and then it pops up an error saying "problem during multiplexing/burning".
I have made movies in the past and this never has occured, and I have 30GB of HD space.
Any thoughts??

Adobe Premiere 7.0 Freezes during Encoding

I am doing a dvd for my sons graduation. It is 43 minutes long w/music and pictures. I have done much shorter ones and
didn't have a problem burning to a DVD. However this project it is not giving me an error just runs so long and then stops during encoding and the
bar does not progress any further. I did a project just about 2 months ago using the same computer with no problems. Can someone
help me. I need by this weekend.

Is this Premiere 7.0, also known as PrPro 1.0, or PrElements 7? There will be a very big difference.

PE12 hangs during encoding/burn to file or disk. Dvd OK, AVCHD hangs

Good day to everyone.
I have a 55-minute project conaining images, SD video and few HD AVCHD. Trying to burn this onto a DVD at a AVCHD res.
Problem:
If I chose the "DVD: res, under the pull-down option of "publish+share", then, I have no problem encoding, burning the whole project onto a file or a dvd. But if I try to burn it as an AVCHD, no matter which setting (1440 X1080i, or 1080p etc.) i chose, forget it. one time it hung at 98% during encoding, other times, it kept hanging after encoding was completed, but got stuck at 1% during subsequent burn process (to file, not even an inserted DVD). I had selected either one of the file sizes (4 GB or 8GB) and checked the selection for "fit to .....". By hang I mean: after 8 hours it was still at the same spot.
Again, burning at standard dvd res works well. Burns to file, burns to dvd, no problem and the video looks fine. I even followed the suggestion of A.T. Ramono in one of his posts to another member and downloaded the ImageBurn software in order to isolate whether the issue is my burner or some where before that as i was trying to figure out what is going on.
I'd like to burn this project at a higher def as some of the pictures and vids are somewhat blury when I burn it as standard dvd res. Some images and vids are blury. I also see the same bluriness while during preview (before I even move to burn a copy), but if I pause during the preview, the video and images that were blury, crisp up to a perfect image.
My system is a Dell XPS, Wind XP, 4GB RAM, two HDs. Source on one with with 133GB of available, defragmented clean space left. OS, programs and rendered files etc all are on the other drive with 230GB of clean defrag available space.
Anyone can help me figure out what is going on?

I read the post. But it trigered a follow up question.
While my intention is to burn a AVCHD copy onto a disc, I can't even get the burn completed when I chose "Burn to folder: (8.5GB)" AND I even check the box for "fit the content to available space" So, I would assume that if the physical space on an actual DVD is the problem, then by
1) checking the box that forces the media to fit the available space" and
2) that I'm burning to a folder, not a DVD media
I should have no problem. Right?

"Program files" directory problem during Microsoft Office Customization Installer in non-English versions of Windows

We have a document-level customization solution for Word and are experiencing problems during deployment in an environment running on terminal services. The OS (Windows 2012) is English and Word (2013) is non-English (German).
Installation is done into the "Program Files" folder correctly. But when trying to start a word document linked to the specific template. The "Microsoft Office Customization Installer" pops up with the error.
"There was an error during installation"
From: file:///C:/Programme/[CompanyName]/[Productname]/[Productname].vsto
Downloading file:///c:/Programme/[CompanyName]/[Productname]/[Productname].vsto did not succeed.
Exception: ....
System.Deployment.Application.DeploymentDonwloadException: Download file:///C:/Programme/[Companyname]/Productname]/[Productname].vsto did not suceed. ---> System.Net.WebException: Could not find a part of the path 'C:\Programme\[Companyname]\[Productname]\[Productname].vsto'.
---> System.Net.WebException: ...... ---> System.IO.DirectoyNotFoundException......
The problem seems to be that the installer is looking for C:\PROGRAMME instead of C:\PROGRAM FILES. C:\PROGAMME is the German localized name of PROGRAM FILES (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Program_Files).
The installer installs the solution correctly deployed into c:\program files, but when the later a user tries to start it and the Microsoft Office Customization Installer is called, it tries to access the non-existing "c:\programme" folder. This
doesn't exist, because Windows is English.
Is there any thing related to deploying solutions on a platform which has different languages (mixing/matching of OS language and Office language?)

1. First, I would confirm with you whether you dealt with the localization for your document-level add-in?
2. Did you use this way to define the Create a class that defines the post-deployment action part of Put the document of a solution
onto the end user's computer (document-level customizations only) and did you get the path with Environment.SpecialFolder enum?
To handle this, I would recommend you consider using Environment.SpecialFolder to set that property.
