MVGoogleTileLayer() and the map cache

Is there any way to use the map cache in conjunction with MVGoogleTileLayer()? It seems silly to keep generating the same requests over and over for Google.
The only way I know how to get a tile layer into the cache is via defining a data source via the admin page, or setting up an external data source.

Hello,
does really no-one know an answer to this ?
Thanks & Regards,
Andi

Try downloading another app - any free app - that seems to reset something and the apps may start working again. Try that first. If that doesnt work, try these steps
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Close all apps. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad. • I bought an iPhone 5s in China and the maps app is different.  When I go to the US will I be able to use Apple's native app or will I be stuck with this one?

So I wanted to ask a question that my googlefoo couldn't help me solve.
I bought an iphone at a reputable electronics market here in China and it is an AT&T model phone.  I bought it at one of the grey market locations because they were sold out elsewhere.  I contacted a friend at AT&T to make sure it is a legit AT&T model.  The phone is great and everything works perfectly including maps.  But maps are done by Autonavi here in China, not Apple.  I downloaded the Mavericks update on my mac and tried some of the new maps features and they wouldn't work with my phone.  That's okay since I live in China now but I'll be going back to the USA soon and I wonder what will happen.  Will it update the app to Apple's native one or stay with Autonavi.  Autonatvi does not have the flyover features and it is not robust in the USA.
Who can help me out here?  Has anyone purchased a 5, 5c, or 5s in China and gone elsewhere?  Did the maps app change?
    Thank you
tl;dr my china iphone has autonavi for maps not apple, when I go to the usa will I get the native app?

I live in China as well and my iPhone5s is the model A1530 I bougth outside China. I have the same problem as Nikatnight with the iPhone while the iPad Air (wifi only) is working like a charm. It must be definitely something related to the carrier since I was abroad few days ago and everything worked well.
If you pay attention at the source of your maps, you'll discover they are provided by AutoNavi instead of TomTom and make them appear in chinese with their own border interpretation. Queries are only acceppted in Chinese (p.e. if I type in english "Los Angeles International Airport"  it replies it cannot locate it)
I suppose everything will be fine when you'll be out of censorship....
Perhaps iOS  Apple Maps are absolutely useless for expatriate in China.
    Use Google Maps instead
BTW, I'm surprised how much Apple might prostrate towards hard power Governments.... No matter what, money are always on top!

  • External Context Mapping and "The Mapping to Node...Has Not Been Completed"

    Hi there,
    I've got 2 components: A, B where A consumes the data provided by B.
I'm calling the component B which includes a view provided by A. This view (provided by A) needs data inputted by the user in a view in B.
The context of B contains a node called MULTIVALUES flagged as Interface + Input Element Ext.
The component A uses the component B, in the component usage interface controller of the component A I've referenced the component controller of A. I have then created a node in A's component controller and done the mapping from the component usage interface controller of A to A's component controller.
The manually created component controller node in A is NOT an interface.
Now when I invoke B I'm getting an error:
The Mapping to Node COMPONENTCONTROLLER.1.MULTIVALUES Has Not Been Completed.
    What's still missing?
    Thank you!

it is indeed much more complex and you need lot of understanding about the component instances and their life time.
What i do normally for such complex cyclic dependency , i try to split the common part which is needed in bot component_a and component_b and create a new super component_s.
Component_s is used in both components. You can even go further that you create view component which has nothing but the viewContainer UI elements to embed the views from component_a and Component_b.
The view component has to create all the used components (comp_s,comp_a,comp_b) and after creating call the interface method in comp_a and comp_b to set the component usage of comp_s (use the if_wd_comp_usage=>entering-referencemode).
In this way the comp_a,comp_b share the same instance of comp_s.
What i am saying is to look for a solution in application architecture and not with in the exiting components coding.

  • TS1702 I updated to iOS6 and the Passbook shows as an icon on the phone, but not in the list of applications.  Is this a useless app at this point?  And, the maps - not nearly as nice as Google.  (Sheesh, did I just say that?)

I updated from iOS 5.1 to iOS 6.  The Passbook App appears as an app, but not in the list that appears to the left.  It won't open, and it won't let me access iTunes Store from this App.  Suggestions?
The maps are AWFUL.  I cannot believe I am saying this, but I prefer GOOGLE maps.

What list? Where is this "left"?

  • Why is the "Lightroom Help"(F1) and the "Map Module" Offline?

I ask because everything requiring Internet connection thru Lightroom appears fine, such as the Web Module! There is nothing wrong with my Home Network nor any usage of the Internet, except when it comes to the Map Module and contacting "Lightroom Help"(F1) from the HELP Menu within Lightroom! I have been using Lightroom for a couple of years without encountering this issue and am baffled as to how to address solving it. Any input would be appreciated!

This is a well-known issue with Lightroom. Lots of adjustment brush usage on a particular photo will cause high CPU usage.
If you need to do a lot of brushing, you may be better off doing these tasks in Photoshop.
By the way, I have no idea what SSBOD means, I have never seen that acronym before.

  • Help working with the GPS and the Maps app.

I know how to plot a route and all, but I can't make the Maps app very responsive. What I'm looking for is a way to get live updates of distance to turns like a regular GPS device gives. All I can get my iPhone to do is follow my location and I have to zoom out to see when I'm getting close to a turn.
I see that it does break a trip into parts, where each part is a turn, but I can't get it to ever tell me how far I am from that turn after I've started the trip.

You'll have to wait for custom apps that will run under version 3.0 of the OS, to be released "this summer".

  • Issues with iOS6.0.1 and the maps app.

Hi!  After upgrading to iOS 6.0.1 on iPhone 4, I am no longer able to display traffic on the maps app.  My device with iOS 5.1.1, traffic still displays.  Is there a fix for this issue?  If not, how can I downgrade to iOS 5.1.1?  Thanks!

Hey Chris, thanks for responding, in my above post I mentioned my troubleshooting:
Since updating my iPhone 5S (T-Mobile) to both 8.0.1 and then 8.0.2 I've had more issues than I've ever had with any iOS in the past (with the exception of iPhone 4 running iOS 7, but clearly that is an older phone, not a 1 year old model like the 5S). Have tried resetting, powering off, etc too by the way.

  • Contacts and the Mapping Application

    Hi all,
After entering the appropriate address information against my contacts, the iPone3g allows you to click on the address and it tries to find it using google maps (it may have done this in iPhone v1 I don't know, sorry) by opening the Map application.
However I usually get an error saying that the location could not be found.
Why would this be if I have put in every address element including the House Number, Street Name, Town, County ,Postcode, and Country into Contacts?.
Is it a limitation with google maps or the iphone mapping application?

It is a limitation of Google Maps.
Saddly Google Maps does not know how to disregard redundent information.
Also, the Google Maps database is not complete.
HOWEVER, it is far more comprehensive than most map systems out on the Web.
Report the problem to Google if it presists.

  • Mail and the DNS Cache

My web server name has recently changed. I ran "lookupd -flushcache" to flush my local cache and I was able to reach my website using the domain name within minutes of the change.
Mail has however not been able to find the server. After a day or two I placed my mail into a backup folder and recreated the account and it works fine.
    My questions are:
    1. Does Apple Mail use its own cache? I know thats not the case with other operating systems and didn't think it was with OSX until I had this problem.
    2. If so would clearing the preferences for mail fix this? Would there be an alternate way to prevent loosing all of the other preferences.
    Best Regards,
    Justin

Hi Justin, and a warm welcome to the forums!
Not certain, but this can fix myriad Mail problems, without destroying Prefs...
Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), it will try to repair your Disk Directory while the spinning radian is happening, so let it go, run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, then move these folder & file to the Desktop.
Move this Folder to the Desktop...
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Caches/Mail/
Move this file to the Desktop...
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/Envelope Index
    Reboot.

  • IPhone 4 GSM Updated to iOS 6.0 and the Maps isn't showing the 3D button? Is it not available in Canada? How do I enable it? Pleas help!

I just updated my iPhone 4 to 6.0, and when I launch maps, the 3D button and compass arrow are there in the corner, but when the App actually loads, it disappears... Is it not available in Canada? Is there any way I can enable it???

I would wager the 3GS and 4 don't have the CPU to handle the rendering they were showing on the keynote.  Must be one of the reasons 6 won't support the original iPad either, which has the same CPU as the 4.

  • After iOS 6 my games won't load at all, even after updating them via iTunes and the maps really are garbage.  How can I get my games back?

I can't play WWF, Hanging or Scramble (all Zynga).

    Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash/downgrade
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these (or the one created when you upgraded to the version you are downgrading from) and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup!

  • Where did the Empty Cache option go?

I recently did a software update for Safari and the Empty Cache option under Safari in the tool bar is no longer there. I use this ALL the time, any idea where it is?
    Thanks!

Apparently it's been omitted from the latest Safari update however you can enable the Develop menu and clear the cache from there.
From your Safari menu bar top of your screen click Safari > Preferences then select the Advanced tab.
Select:  Show Develop menu in menu bar
Now from the menu bar again click Develop > Empty Caches
