MW 550 5.1+ ddts 100+ audigy 2 zs. Help!

Hi, i have purchased recentley all of those things. Creative Megaworks 550 THX 5.1, Creative Decoder DDTS 100 and Creative Audigy 2 ZS, but i'm not really sure how to connect it... I have it connected by this way, but i only have sound from front speaker(2 channel):
Audigy 2 ZS to DDTS 100- digital out(audigy 2) to coaxial (on ddts 100)
DDTS 100 to Megaworks 550- three cables(don't know the name-green, black and orange) to the speaker system.
But, with this configuration, the sound only comes from the 2 front speaker and the sub woofer. Without the ddts 00 and digital output(from audigy 2), the sound is allright. What do i need to do?
Thank you

dragao,

Because you have the DDTS-100 decoder, you can use analog connectors for music and games, the decoder has enough inputs to do that.

  • Connection DTT3500 Digital with DDTS-100. Pls Help me.

I want to connect my speakers (DTT3500) with the decorder DDTS-00. How to connect them and how to setup my system to play DTS. Please analyze. The soundcard is Audigy 2 ZS.
    Thank you in advance,
    Ilias

Unless I am terribly misinformed those speakers uses a digital connection. So there is no way to connect them to the DDTS unless they also accept analogue connections.
Though, please don't take my word for it since there might be some magical converter but I have never heard of such a thing.

  • Connecting ddts 100 to gigaworks 7.1 with audigy 2 zs

    Hello,
I know you have probably been asked this before, but how do you connect the ddts 100 decoder to gigaworks 7.1 speakers?
I have an audigy 2 zs card aslo.
I connected it as best as I could see from the instruction manual but the speakers are still controlled from the sudio pod you get with the spekers themselves, not the decoder.
Do I have to use the switch box? I think I am missing something really obvious but I dont know!
    help!

yep you need to use the switch box, and attach cables to both decoder and pc then use switch to decoder to alter volume with decoder and control pod.

  • Decoder DDTS-100 + digital out(audigy 2)via coaxial

hi, if i connect ddts-100 decoder with audigy 2 via digital out(coaxial), can i mix stereo sound to multichannel witch DTS 6 neo or Dolby Pro Logic II? and if i send via coaxial AC3(movie witch AC3 or music from winamp surround edition) sound ddts-100 recognize this signal and play at all channel?Message Edited by mariuszkom on 07-19-2007 10:41 PM

Yes and Yes. I've found that it sounds better though to simply copy the front channels to the rear, which neither of those matrix modes will do. Your best bet though is to get a sound card that does dolby digital li've encoding such as the auzentech xplosion or ht omega striker.

  • Connecting DDTS-100 and Audigy 2 ZS

    Hello!
I have some problems with DDTS-100. My systen curently is: Creative S750, DDTS-100 and Audigy 2 ZS. I can't understand how this DDTS-100 is working. I try to coneect Audigy2 ZS to DDTS using coaxial connection, but when I done this DDTS sound only in Stereo mode. Is it OK. I can't tur on Dolby and DTS on it. Then I try to connect some radio uzing Anolaog input. When I uze Analog input I can Chose betven Stereo Dolby and DTS, But still I cant Switch on Dolby digital or differnet sound modes. And if I tur On Dolby or NEO6 then I don't hera sound from side speakers . I'm wery upsad. I can't Understand how this DDTS-100 is working...
    Pls give me some advice...
    Regards,
    RaimizA

Analog output on the soundcard --> DDTS-100 switchbox
    Switchbox --> DDTS-100 main unit
    Switchbox --> Speakers
Digital out on the soundcard --> Coaxial input on the DDTS-100 main unit
The digital output on the soundblaster can ONLY SEND OUT EITHER A PCM STEREO SIGNAL OR AN ENCODED DATA STREAM (AC-3). In order to make the DDTS-100 decode the data stream correctly you MUST have the software set to SPDIF passthrough and also have that set in the Audio HQ or the Audio console. Put the switchbox to decoder mode. The only way to light up the lights of the DTS and Dolby Digital is to feed the main unit with an encoded data stream of those sound formats. If you try to play anything and put it through the digital out that is not DTS or DD you are going to get... Stereo.
In order to get sound from the side speakers you must first set the switch on the back of the DDTS-100 main unit to 6.1/7.1 and set the upmix to 5.1-->7.1 or 6.1-->7.1 (depending on the source) on the main volume controller of the S750.

  • DDTS-100 with Megaworks 550?

Maybe a silly question, but I'm looking at pictues of the DDTS-100 at Creative's site where you hook up everything, and I can't see have the speakers will work and still have the sound card hooked up. If the speakers go to the switch box, how do I connect the X-Fi card to the switchbox? I'm alos looking to connect a 360.

  • DDTS-100, Megaworks 710D, SB Live! 5.1

I use the digital out minijack of my SoundBlaster Live! Player 5.1. It is connected to the co-axial digital in on the DDTS-100. I am just wondering what settings I should use in Creative Surround Sound Mixer and Windows control panel (sounds & audio devices) as the speakers are 7.1, but I reckon as far as the PC is concerned the output is stereo (when not an AC3 stream). So, do I have windows and surround mixer set for 5.1, 7.1 or stereo speakers?
    thanks in advance
    dave

No, I really can't complain at all about the setup.
I use Windows Media Player for my 4000-odd tunes. The DDTS is set to Neo:6 music most of the time, with the speakers set to upmix from 6.1 to 7.1. The sound is absolutely awesome!!!
When watching tv i flick it onto dolby pro logic 2, and change the speakers to upmix 5.1->7.1. Again, sound is superb! Just before the Star Wars trilogy came out on DVD I watched my VHS tapes, and due to the witchcraft and wizardry Creative have provided me with, I can honestly say that the sound quality and surroundiness was nearly as good as the DVDs are themselves.
I would thoroughly reccommend the DDTS / S750 combo to anyone, and even with my oldish SB Live! card the sound is superb, clear, and best of all, LOUD.
An Audigy 2 may be on the cards for Christmas though..........

  • Ddts 100 is this normal

ok so far i have spent over ?600 to get a dolby digital system with some punch
Firstly i bought the s750 gigaworks speakers
then the audigy 2 zs platinum soundcard.
Now this should have been good enough to get dolby digital via optical out on dvd to optical in on audigy 2 zs live drive ( nope lip sync issue with no fix in sight)
So i buy the ddts 100, well actually i sepnt my money on another creative 7.1 speaker set that includes the ddts 100.
Set it up and yes i can now get dolby digital / dts etc.
But i got no switch box, your also suppsoed to get 2 (7.1) audio cables, I GOT it gets worse can someone that represents creative tell me, what sound quality i should expect whilst using the analogue stereo inputs.
    Stereo is ok
But when i want to use dolby prologic or the neo to upload 2 channel stereo to 5.1 etc. in movie mode, cinema mode, music mode etc.
I get high frequency garbled noises from the speakers, it aint the speakers as i do not get these nosies using dolby digital, i only get these noises whilst using the prologic and neo, now i know this is not normal, as it would be pointless if this was supposed to happen, why is it all the creative geart i have bought is having troubles. Do you not think that someone who spends this amonut of money deserves to have hardware that actually works as intended.
The amount of hassle i have and for someone to say, that has a vested interest well mine does not do that. Do they just keep the good stuff for their workers and palm everyone else of with , sub standard, missing parts etc.
    Whats going on?

The iPad 2 & 3 came with a 10W charger, the 12W didn't roll out until iPad 4.  But if the OP is using an iPhone charger, or anything that delivers less than 2A DC then that would explain the lengthy charge time (9 hours does seem rather long).

  • DDTS-100 and GigaWorks S-750

Hi there, i bought the DDTS-100 to install on my pc with 7.1 GW-S750. 7.1 system is connected on a audigy 2 platinum with frontal bay that has the optical and coaxial connections. The audigy is 6.1 but i use the 7.1 system as a 5.1 system. Ok then the definitions when seeing a DVD video with dolby digital and DTS are ( IN WINDVD7 ) audio:spdif out enable, the cable is the optic that goes from the front bay to the decoder, and puff there is the sound digital. Now if i change the switch in the box of the decoder to "PC audio" instead of "DECODER", and change the definition in windvd7 to analog audio card instead of spdif out and select a 5.1 system and select the DTS audio in DVD-VIDEO menu there is the puff again, here it is the dolby and DTS sound again ..voice coming on center speaker, some scenes back sounds are only there, everything is the same. So here is the question i guess i dont need the Decoder for PC use.. because the audigy decodes alone the digital sound (dts or dolbydigital) and sends the sound to speakers in the same way.. is the quality diferent by being decoded by the decoder instead of the audigy itself with windvd?

    Hi Richie,
Thanq for your response. But unlike what you have mentioned, ("what may be happining is the soundcard is decoding the signal and then the ddts is trying to decode it with disatrous results"), In my setup the signal is not getting decoded two times, once by Soundcard and once by the DDTS-100. As I have mentioned that I am taking out an Optical Signal from the sound card to the DDTS-100, the signal comming out from the sound card to the DDTS is Encoded signal only. So there doesnt arise a chance that the signal is getting decoded twice. Can you think of any other reason why my setup is not working? Please let me know.
    regards,
    Rahul M

  • DDTS 100 coaxial mode stuck to stereo

Im a newbie when it comes to surround sounds.
I just bought DDTS100 because I want to take advantage of the digital output from my new Audigy 2 ZS soudcard and i need a decoder for my 5.1 speaker (Klipsch Promedia Ultra 5.1). I plugged everything according to instructions, using coaxial digital output from my soundcard. However, the DDTS is STUCK TO STEREO MODE, I cannot make it to switch to Dolby Digital PL II, or DTS NEO. I enabled digital output only and enabled SPDIF passthrough (DD/DTS digital out)on Creative audio settings. I tried playing DVD movies with Dolby digital & DTS and MP3/wave music but i get same result. It makes my speaker work as 2.1 in stereo mode and the signals are crappy in DVD movies. Analog output does work well with movies or music as i tried using analog from my soudcard,I can switch to DD PLII and DTS with no problem. I haven't tried optical output since my soudcard does'nt have one.
I just want my coaxial/digital mode to work on DD PL II and DTS, please ideas anyone?

What connection did you use? SPDIF / digital or analog? Did you connect your speaker directly to your DDTS-100 or to the switchbox that came with the DDTS-100?

  • DDts-100

I just bought the ddts 100 decoder for my s750 speaker system.
Now i have a logical problem. First of all, sorry for my bad english. i only learned it in school, because of that just smile if you read mistakes.

How to connect the ddts 100 correctly with s750 and sb audigy 2 zs
I plugged the 4 connectors in my soundcard an then to the ddts 100 control panel.
Then from panel with 3 connectors to the speaker system. But i have to use my old control panel from the s750 system. is that correct?
Can i plug the control of the speakers to the ddts 100.
I dont wanna use the old control panel anymoree. I thought i can chnage volume etc. from the ddts 100.
I searched with google for an answer but i only found what i can buy :-(

  • DDTS-100 Questions!

    Hi!
I have a DDTS-100 decoder which I just connected to my Creative Inspire 5.1 speaker system and to my PC with a Audigy 2 ZS via the switch box. There are a few things I want to know.
When I switch the switch-box to "decoder", I hear no sound. How do I output signals from my PC to my decoder? If i need to use cables/converters, please tell me which ones, as i am quite new to this. Do I have to use a coaxial connection to my Audigy 2 ZS?
    Thanks!

There is a master volume control, it would be stupid not to
It can be connected via analogue from any 5.1/7.1 scard and also digitally via spdif-out from any s/card. Also optically from any s/card and standalone dvd players or consoles.
Its virtualyl compatible with most systems there

  • Ddts-100 + audigy2 zs + 550thx mega works. only left/right output

just purchased and installed the above system. however, when doing the software test under speaker settings, i only get front left and front right. all the others dont work. i have miniplug out from audigy (digital output) to (coaxial input) decoder, then decoder out (front left/right, rear left/right, sub/front) to megaworks input (front left/right, rear left/right, sub/front). i do the test on the ddts-100 decoder, and i get all 5.1 channels. now, just to clarify, i used the supplied mini plug to rca, that rca to the rca input (coaxial) the plug is the mono plug that came with the decoder. do i need to go out and buy the 4 pole mini plug? why dont they just supply it instead of the mono plug.. which isnt even shown to be used in my manuals.
anyway, clarification would be good on the mono/4 pole miniplug. otherwise nice sound so far.cant turn it up cuz its midnight and highly doubt the neighbours would appreciate it.
    cheers
    Steve

Hmmm... My guess is that this is due to your setup with digital out. Since the digital out on your soundcard will not pass through anything other than stereo PCM or encoded SPDIF data you will not get anything else but FL and FR channels when calibrating. Read more about this is the soundblaster forum section here.
My suggestion, as I'm sure everyone else will, is to connect your soundcard using the analogue outputs into the switchbox of the DDTS-100.
Edit: to be more precise this is how you can connect everything: from your soundcard, connect the analogue outputs into the switchbox of the DDTS-100. Connect the switchbox to the main DDTS-00. Connect the DDTS-00 main to the speakers. Now, connect the digital out from your soundcard into the coaxial input on the DDTS-100. When doing a calibration, switch to PC mode on the switchbox and calibrate. If you then want to use the digital out, enable digital out only in the speaker or THX settings. I use this setup at home actually but use the T7700 speakers instead.

  • DDTS-100 alternative

    Hi!
A have the Megaworls 550 and I need a decoder like the DDTS-100.
Some news about a new decoder like this ?
    Thx

You might want to consider a low cost home theater receiver and connect the satellite speakers directly to the receiver. You'll probably have to make your own cable to use the line level output from the receiver's subwoofer channel to the Megaworks subwoofer. Just be careful not to overdrive those little speakers with the receiver. As an added benefit, you'll probably get much better sound quality as well.

  • DDTS-100 low output

Can Creative help me on why I have a low output (volume near to max for both ) from my Altec Lansing 505R speakers connected to my PS2, Xbox n DVD(optical), Creative soundcard Audigy(coaxial) and TV, Creative soundcard Audigy(stereo) but when I connect stereo direct(stereo input) to my speakers with volume set mid, the speakers output is way louder n better. Is there something wrong with my DDTS-100? Adjusting the center, rear and subwoofer didn't make any difference for my output. Anybody have any comments on this. Thinking of sending it down to the Creative service centre for a check if there is no solution for this. Hope Creative can advise on this.
Message Edited by salmal on 04-20-2005 06:51 PM

I guess I should have done my homework before posting! I went to dolby.com and found that prologic II does not support the subwoofer output.. I guess this is for older systems that don't have one. It would have been nice if creative could have enabled the sub out though.. but it probobly is against dolby's rules. The good news is that all of my speakers are large, full range ones anyways. (the new dolby prologic IIx does support the subwoofer out, but the DDTS-00 doesn't support prologic IIx, go figure) Overall the unit seems like it will work ok for me... Oh, by the way, I plan on using it as the input for an older McIntosh tuner/pre-amp in my home theater, no computer or powered speakers involved. It has a 6 channel input, but no dolby digital decoder.. I hope it works for that, seems like it should. I just need the mini plug to RCA adapters, right?
    Thanks, Ron
