MWI for extensions in different partition

Hello,
We are working on an IPCCx implementation and currently have the ICD controlled line in a different partition. The partition also contains the CTI Ports. The calling search space of the line is set to our standard search space for our office. Everything has worked well until I was told that management want the ICD line to show a message waiting when there is a message in the group mailbox. Our voicemail system is integrated with our Nortel PBX and we have 2 QSIG T1?s between the PBX and our 2851 Voice Gateway. MWI is working fine but I can?t figure out a good way to allow MWI to those extensions and at the same time, prevent anyone from calling them. I have the MWI on and off extensions defined for that partition/CSS.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

Thank you for the suggestion. The only problem I have with doing that is it will allow clients with Nortel Phones to dial the IPCC extensions directly.
I tried using a route filter then found that it only works with the @ route pattern.
From the sounds of it, I don't think I'll be able to limit that access to strickly MWI will I?

  • Can i set up my drive as encrypted with different partitions for different versions of osx?

i have some questions about setting up an encrypted drive with different versions of osx installed on separate partitions, and how this choice effects time-machine and the emergency recovery disk.
I have a new/refurbished macbook pro with a SSD.  it already has mavericks installed.  i want to fully wipe the drive and reinstall everything my self because I'm odd like that.
    first wiping the current drive
Does the recovery partition get wiped if i use disk-utility to reformat the drive. Even thought the recovery partition does not show up as a partition, when i look at it with disk-utility? i would like to know I've wiped all partitions so that no little bugger gets left with out me knowing. Disk-utility does not show the recovery partition and this makes me concerned it might not wipe it.
Does mavericks automatically make a recovery partition during the installation process? Or do i need to make a new 1gb partition for the recovery disk?
Can i have two different partitions on my drive with separate installations of OSX on it? (one for work that i don't update the system os till my current project is done, and the other for experimenting with new software.)
will time machine back up both of the partitions or just one?
can i accomplish all this from a bootable usb drive or do i need to do this in target disk mode?
do i need to use a more capable utility than the stock apple "disk-utility"?
when reformatting the drive should i format it as encrypted or let file vault do this after i install mavericks?
how much does encryption slow down performance for things like photo/video/music production?

Do a backup before you do anything.
Does the recovery partition get wiped if i use disk-utility to reformat the drive
    It shouldn't
Does mavericks automatically make a recovery partition during the installation process?
    Yes.
Can i have two different partitions on my drive with separate installations of OSX on it?
    Yes.
will time machine back up both of the partitions or just one?
It will as long as one partition is not excluded in the Time Machine/Options.
do i need to use a more capable utility than the stock apple "disk-utility"?
No, just boot into the Recovery Volume (command  - R on a restart).
file vault do this after i install mavericks?
I would let File Vault do that.

  • 2 Different Partition Map Scheme's for one external hard drive

Is it possible to have one external hard drive with 2 different Partition Map Scheme's?
One of them will be used to externally boot tiger on a powerpc, and the other for use on my macbook pro?

And this drive is currently not partitioned I take it ?
You need to make a backup of the data on the drive then partition it, the first partition must be set under Disc Utility / Partition / Options as Mac GUI Bootable so it installs the drivers, then install Tiger onto the first partition and move your current data back onto the second one.
You will then be able to Boot Tiger on the older PowerBook by holding down 'option' at start up, if you just have it connected to the MacBook Pro and start up normally then it will appear as two volumes on your Desktop, the Tiger Boot Volume and your Data Volume.

  • Can I split Time Capsule drive for Windows7 files and Mac OS on different partitions?

Planning to buy Time Capsule to backup my MacBook Pro. Can the drive be split into different partitions making one available for Windows 7 and the other partitions for Windows 7?

    Hi Niel,
Thanks for your help. What I understand from your answer is that Time Capsule will be available to Windows7 only for disk images, but not file based and incremental backups. So no point/chance to split the drive. Did I understand you correctly?

  • How to configure mwi for GDM (general delivery mailbox)

    Hello everyone
I'm trying to configure mwi for GDM and am not having much success. I tried a couple of different ways suggested in a discussion here:
https://supportforums.cisco.com/message/3091135?tstart=0 but don't think I,m doing this the right way.
This is what the thread states:
x511 is a shared line with a corresponding GDM mailbox   (mine is x1007)
    x512 is a blast group with members x501 (phone A), x502 (phone B), and x503 (phone C)  *****I took 1008
x511 is call forward all to 512
The blast group at 512 forwards on no answer to voicemail
    x511 is assigned as a button on each of phones A, B & C
When an incoming call comes in to x511 it is immediately forwarded to the blast group at 512, and as a result, x501, x502, and x503 ring.  After 15 seconds (or whatever the no answer timer is set to), the call goes to voicemail.  Because the call went to x511 first, it winds up in mailbox 511.  After the message is left, an MWI ON message is generated for x511, which results in the envelope icon being displayed next to the x511 button on each of phones A, B and C.
Therefore If I change this to my configurations I think it would go like this:
When an incoming call comes in to x1007(GDM) it is immediately forwarded to the blast group at 1008, and as a result, x1001, x1002, and x1003 and 1004 ring.  After 15 seconds (or whatever the no answer timer is set to), the call goes to voicemail.  Because the call went to x1007 first, it winds up in mailbox 1007.  After the message is left, an MWI ON message is generated for x1007, which results in the envelope icon being displayed next to the x1007 button on each of phones A, B and C.
    Here is what I tried:
1: Configured GDM at extension 1007 and shared the extension to phones ext: 1001, 1002, 1003, 1004 (instead of above mentionned x511). This extension works and can retrieve GDM no problem.

Thanks very much again for the help. I really appreciate it.

  • How do I redirect  the "Documents" folder to a different partition?

I have a separate data partition on my 10.5.1 MacBook and I want all my user data to live there. How do I redirect the "Documents", "Desktop" and "Downloads" folders to a different partition?

As far as I know the desktop can't be assigned elsewhere. The others can be directed with the respective programs. I always keep my documents on another drive. I do it by using the saves as command and point to that directory. Then everything after that I can use there. For Downloads you just change it in preferences in Safari. Switch it in the *Save downloaded files to:* command.

  • Updating Azure Svc Mgmnt for Extensions

Greetings!  We are getting the following error on one of our Web Roles:
    DiagnosticsPlugin.exe Information: 0 : [3/18/2015 7:39:07 PM] Decrypting private configuration
DiagnosticsPlugin.exe Warning: 0 : [3/18/2015 7:39:07 PM] No certficate with given thumbprint found in the certificate store. Thumbprint:<thumbprint>
At which point the Diagnostics extension is unable to initialize.  I have verified that this certificate exists in Azure and is associated with this specific role.  I have checked in the certificate management console and we do not see the certificate
being installed on the instance.  Upon reviewing AppAgentRuntime.log on the instance, we can see that our SSL certificate and Remote Desktop certificate are being deployed, but not the service management certificate.
I have compared these logs with the logs from a working instance in order to verify what I should be seeing.
At this point, I have determined that we have one of two options:
Re-upload the Azure Service Management for Extensions into our environment.
Create a new Service Management certificate, upload it, and configure our role to use this certificate when decrypting the PrivateConfig for our instances.
We run into the following problems, however:
I cannot download the existing Service Management certificate as it was auto-generated by Azure.  I can pull down the public certificate, but not the full certificate in order to re-upload it.
Having reviewed all of the PowerShell commands, Visual Studio options, and Management interface, I cannot see how to update the configuration for Azure such that a different certificate is used to encrypt the private config and is used to decrypt the same.
We have tried disabling and re-enabling diagnostics on our role -- both via Visual Studio and PowerShell.  We have also attempted restarting our instances after making diagnostics changes -- to no effect.
    Any help would be appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Bobby D

  • Failover config for Extension Mobility

    Hi,
I have CCM3.3(3) loaded on publisher & subscriber.Extension mobility,Tomcat service is running on both servers. In IP phone services URL, I have givem publishers ip address. In Cisco Extension Mobility Logout,I have configured "True" for Login Service Enabled field in both the servers.
When I shutdown Publisher,EM is not working on all the phones. When I shutdown Subscriber,EM is not working on few phones. But EM is working on all phones when both servers are up.
Should I configure something additional to build redundancy .I want to configure subscriber as primary & Publisher as secondary for EM.
I am using 7940 IP phones.
    Regds
    Jagadish

Text below from Cisco Engineer Marcos Massakawa, about TAC case of this problem with extension mobility.
The problem, as you noted, is that the "Login" and "Logout" service URLs can really only point to
one IP address. In your case, you'd probably have these set up to point to whichever server you
wanted to be the primary one for Extension Mobility. However, if that server failed, the "Login"
and "Logout" services will no longer be useable, since they point to an IP that is no longer
reachable. If you want to enable users to be able to login and logout from the backup server, you'd
have to install EM on the other server, and create a slightly different service name that would show
up on the users' phones as a valid service, such as "Login2"/"Logout2", or "Login Backup"/"Logout
Backup", etc. The service URL for these services would point to the IP of the backup server. It
seems kind of clumsy, but it's a limitation of only being able to put one IP in the service URL.

  • Testing website in Dreamweaver for compatibility in different browsers

    Hi,
A while ago, I had read on my facebook wall (but can't find that comment anymore) that Dreamweaver had recently made an upgrade; we are now able test our website in Dreamweaver for compatibility in different browsers and that it also tells us what needs to be fixed for our site to work within certain browsers. Where do I go for that exactly?
    Thanks

There is an extension for DW called browserlab I think. Seems slow to me but I havent used it much.
browsershots.org is a good site where you can test your pages in most any browser ever invented. Its somewhat slow, depending on how many browsers you want to test, but I like it.

  • [SOLVED] Just got my Arch! Can /home be moved to different partition?

Hello everybody, after three days of work I've finally got my Arch running correctly, and I'm very thrilled about moving on and use it on a regular basis.
Now I have a doubt: during installation I selected to install home in the same partition as file sistem, because I have a home partition for Ubuntu and Fedora and was unsure if setting it would simply create a new folder for Arch, or it would be automatically formatted, which would have meant the destuction of all my data. That means all Arch data is inside the same partition.
So, question is, is there any way to move to that home partition now?
Last edited by Daerun (2011-02-08 22:33:24)

I don't know how many times I have seen this problem - and the solution is oh so easy ...
Forget about /home as such - make it just part of the root filesystem and don't put any data in there.
Instead - mount /myhome  (or whatever you want to call it) on a partition on its own and have all of your users (ie all the usernames you use) rwx-access to it - use it as your 'real' home.
This way, you don't have the clutter of dot-files/directories if you should have more than one distro. To use a common /home for more than one distro is a big fallacy (at least in _my_ eyes) unless you make sure that uid and gid is the same (which is seldom the case if you're a newbie - old hands know better!)
Even if you have the same uid/gid - the dot-files may not be completely compatible and you're heading for troubles.
Another advantage - you can replace a distro with some other distro without thinking twice about it - your 'real' home is safe.
Oh - and while I'm at it.
Why all the different partitions for each distro? (/var, /usr, /home etc). That is OK if you only use one distro - the second you try to install another one you will be heading for troubles.
Just use the root filesystem and give it 20 gigs - 20 gigs for each distro and you will not have any problems - ever (almost). Hey - in these days of terabyte disks for $50, what's the problem?
Then - a final /myhome as a common home partition for all distros.
Another 'mistake' I often see is playing around with different filesystems, trying to wring the last ounce of effort out of a poor diskdrive. Make a /testing partition and experiment to your heart's content with all kind of weird and wonderful filesystem, but keep the root filesystem and your /myhome safe. ext3 and/or reiserfs are excellent filesystems and have been so for years - they are as safe as the bank. ext4 is getting there.
    Just my 2c worth ...

  • /tmp on different partition [quesiton on size and filesystem type]

    Hi,
This is my partition schema (in mind, still have to apply and go ahead for the installation process)
    /home   xfs
    /        ext4
    /var    reiserfs
    /tmp    ??
    /boot   ext2   primary
    windows   primary
Now, I want also a primary partition for windows.
    The /tmp question is,
what size and what filesystem should I choose during the partitioning procedure?
The reason why on a different partition ?
I use Lynis and want to get a higher score
I never understood how to encrypt the hole thing during the installation, and I want to know also if it's good to install windows first and than linux? so the MBR gets overwrited or the opposite?

I would use LVM on top of LUKS. The wiki will get you started in the right direction but mostly addresses putting everything on one encrypted partition (no LVM). Basically, you need to encrypt a partition with LUKS and then partition that encrypted partition with LVM.

  • How do partition a hard drive with different partition schemes?

How can you partition an external HD with different partition schemes for different partitions? GUID one one partition and Apple Partition Map on another?
    Thanks.

I am trying to add a second partition to my (1TB) external firewire HD. Apparently it was preformatted as "MS-DOS (FAT)" and I started putting lots of files on there. Now the "partition" option in disk utility shows me the one partition that's on there, but all options are grayed-out - I cannot add another partition, it seems, nor change anything on the existing one. Is there any possible solution other than totally erasing the disk and starting from scratch? I would be hard-pressed to find enough disk space to (even temporarily) store the stuff that's already on that HD.

  • Bootcamp and OSX showing different Partitions

I had just restored from a backed up system image of Bootcamp. Previously, my bootcamp partition size was about 120+gig and my osx had everything else of 750g. Before I did a system restore, I removed Windows 7 using bootcamp assistant and then created a new one with 450g for bootcamp and 250+g for osx. I installed windows 7 like how I did before and did a system image restore when it was done. Now on the system recovery screen it asked to exclude disk for partition and I tried to exclude my single drive but I got an error saying I can't exclude the disk that backup was going to use so I just continued without excluding it.
I got to restore without any problems but when I opened "My Computer" I saw that the disk size was from my old bootcamp. When I checked OSX it was showing that the partition of 450g and 250g were intact except that the bootcamp drive is now "Untitled" rather than it saying Bootcamp.
Here's the link to the screenshots:

    IMPORTANT:
When I was browsing from OSX to my bootcamp drive, I found out that the files on the drive were from the fresh install. There was no hint that I had restored my old system.
Logging in my Windows to post the screenshot of Disk Management.

It more like I don't know the process to resolve it. I have a back up of osx and windows image, Winclone only allows its own backup unless theres a way to include my winows image on their options. Once that's resolve I can probably buy camptune or just use Winclones method.
I had already bought winclone and I have already sent them an email regarding the issue of my windows image.
The different partitions on both OS is really boggling me though, and what makes it even more complicated is that the "Untitled" partition in Mountain Lion shows the contents of a fresh install not currently bootable and working windows.

    Hi,

It is not possible to change the deployment partition using the AIA deployment plan because the paramater is missing.

One more thing I am looking is to update the AID deployment script to support deployment to partitions on SOA. Seems like this isn't supported in the new version of AID also. Here are the steps I have to customize AID to support composite deployment to different SOA Partitions. Please correct me if I am wrong.
    1. Add "partition" attribute to "Composite" macrodef $AIA_HOME/Infrastructure/Install/AID/lib/AIDDeploymentLibraryTasks.xml
    <macrodef name="Composite">
    <Attribute name="partition" default="default"/>
    2. Add "partition" attribute to "DeployComposite" macrodef $AIA_HOME/Infrastructure/Install/AID/lib/AIDDeploymentLibraryTasks.xml
    <macrodef name="Composite">
    <Attribute name="partition"/>
    3. Update the ant call step to deploy by passing this attribute.
    <ant antfile="${SOA_HOME}/bin/ant-sca-deploy.xml"
    target="deploy" dir="${SOA_HOME}/bin">
    <property name="partition"
    value="@{partition}"/>
So in the DeploymentPlan we can use following:
    <Composite compositeName="SyncCustomerReqABCSImpl" compositedir="${AIA_HOME}/Services/Customer/SyncCustomerReqABCSImpl" revision="1.0" wlserver="fp" action="deploy" partition="masterdata"/>
