MX 7 Enterprise configuration type

How can I find out what configuration was installed when the
CF MX7 Enterprise edition version was installed on the server that
I am working on.
I want to set up multiple instances and from what I have read
this would require J2EE or the multiserver configuration. I have a
bad feeling that neither was installed, but I want to be sure.
My next question would be can I "reinstall" CF without having
to uninstall as the server is pretty well established and well
used.

Please uninstall the CF(if installed). Then delete the CF
installation folder from physical drive. Reboot the system.
And try to install again. Hope this will do.

Authentication error when creating EPM Add-in connection with SAP BO Enterprise connection type

Hello, Experts,
I have a problem with creation of EPM Add-in connection when SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise connection type is selected.
An error message is "Error while communicating with the server. Framework message: Authorization failed."
Here are the steps that were implemented and how this issue was reproduced:
SAP BusinessObjects Planning and Consolidation 10.0 SP12 for Microsoft was installed and configured.
Integration between SAP BPC and SAP BusinessObjects BI 4.1 SP02 was implemented. SAP BO users can successfully connect to SAP BPC system.
EPM connector was successfully installed and deployed in SAP BusinessObjects BI server.
BPC ODBO 2.0 SP04 64BIT was installed in SAP BusinessObjects server.
EPM connection was successfully created in SAP BusinessObjects CMC.
EPM Add-in and BPC ODBO 2.0 SP04 32BIT was installed in another computer (let's call it CLIENT) which has MS Office 2007 32BIT installed.
From CLIENT computer we have launched Excel manually and successfully created BPC connection with Connection Type - Local.
Then we have logged into BI Launch Pad and launched New / EPM document (Excel). Excel has started.
In EPM Add-in we have pressed Logon.
In connection window selected SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise connection type.
An error "Error while communicating with the server. Framework message: Authorization failed." appears.
Before this error appears we are not getting any window where we could select EPM connection (created in CMC) nor the possibility to enter username or password.
Looking forward you valuable comments and suggestions.

Our user has Full Access to all BPC tasks and it is administrator in BI system.
Also we can successfully connect with the same user using Connection type "Local".
We had done some investigation and in the BPC SQL Server trace log we can catch the following message when an error occurs:

It is very interesting that after the EPM workbook is launched via BI Launch Pad till an error occurs we are NOT provided with possibility to enter any username and password. So the EPM add-in should use the same user which was logged into BI Launch Pad - in our case the user with administrative rights both in BI Launch Pad and BPC systems. Am I missing anything?

Create Project trough enterprise project type with templates does not send notification to team member(email) when published

Hi All,
I encountered this issue in my client site when implementing project server 2013.
At First I thought that this issue occurred intermittently , sometimes project creation (create project from PWA- assign resources with team member -save and publish) trigger email notification to the assigned team member and sometimes not. (new task notification)
I have checked with our infrastructure team and verify that I use the right SMTP server address and port , and cross check with them for their side configuration (exchange) , we did not find anything wrong on both settings.
and then we found out that the failed notification email comes from project creation using defined project templates in an enterprise project type, even from a project that consist of template schedule , we added new task on that project and assign a team
member on that task that resulted with notification sent to the team member, but not with task that comes from templates.
can someone help us on this issue, or is there any CU on this?

Yes we did create the template from project professional and as far as i know,
the only way to create template is just to save it, no option to publish the template.
When you create a new project from template for some of the task you remove the resources then assign resource to those tasks then save and publish the project.
<--there are no resources assigned from the template, when i assign resources (new assignment) this will not trigger notification
Or create a new task under summary task assign resource then save and publish the task you notification sent to the resource means it is working.
<--new task (not from template ) also trigger the notification

Getting error while opening Enterprise project type (EPT)

In Project Server 2013, I am getting error while opening any Enterprise project type (EPT) from EPT page or when I am trying ot create any new EPT. How can I troublshoot this, please help.

My wife’s 2012 Macbook Pro has Yosemite and is using Wi Fi for the internet connection.
Every time, both on startup and awaking from sleep, a window appears on the desktop with a locked icon saying, “Networksetup is trying to modify this system. Type your password in to allow this”.
The window (which can’t be moved or dragged) shows the computer’s user name. The password has to be repeatedly typed in as many as 10 times and the highlighted ‘modify configuration’ box clicked before the window disappears and the computer then functions normally.
Needless to say, this is driving my wife up the wall… I would certainly appreciate information on how to get rid of this troublesome window!

To stop the pop-up, Go to System Preferences: Security. Check the box next to "Require password to unlock each secure system preference." Then lock Security.

Are you on a BES? If so, you need to contact your IT administrator. That information from from them not from Verizon.

Saved and publieshed Projects are not linking to the enterprise project types

We have 15 enterprise project types, when we create a project we will select that EPT's and create projects.
After create the project -- saving and Publishing -- server settings -- change or restart work flow -- it must show the project under the EPT which we selected but the problem is that it is showing all the projects in None.
We tried to asscoiate the project to the EPT but still it is ssowing up in basic project paln which we are not using.
Can any one had faced this kind of issue please revert..

Usually it means there's a failure in the workflow. A couple things:
1) Check the ULS log.
2) Try creating the projects from a non-SysAdmin account - which typically doesn't have a user profile - which causes workflow to fail.
3) Try creating an EPT with no workflow and see if you get the same results.

When i try to run my application its showing an error,

but when i run my application by rightclicking on my application its working, instead if i use the tab on the upper panel of NWDS it throwing this error.

Hi,
Following is what I assume you are trying to do.
1. You have a WebDynpro application which you want to deploy and run.
2. You are able to run your WebDynpro application by rightclicking on the application and running it.
3. You are not able to run the same application by clicking RUN option on the top.
If my assumption is correct, then I suggest you to follow your second approach.
If not, then please specify what kind of application you are trying to execute.

I configured BPM enterprise and try to start process engine from Process Admin console.

New LinkId with "SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise" database type. Did anybody have such experience?

In PAS tool, when creating a new LinkId, in the drop-down choice with database types there is an option to choose "SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise". What does it mean to have such a source?
If I choose this option, will I be able to refer to SAP BusinessObjects universe objects? Or how this is different from typical dabase as source?

Hi, the BOE LinkID option is no longer supported in SSM 10 and 10.1. Please refer to SAP note 2021613.

SharePoint Enterprise Search site is stored in SharePoint Content database associated with the web application which hosts enterprise search site, if you want to resoter the search configuration and search pages(may have customized the search web part
page), you can try to firstly test the restore of particular content database and search administrator database.

Enterprise configuration: Customizing and locking about:config

I'm working within an enterprise environment, where I'm required to have certain Firefox configuration settings, and make the users unable to change them. Following guides I've found on several different sites, I've created a local-defaults.js file in $APPDIR$/defaults/pref/ with the following content:

That isn't all of the settings I have configured, but they all follow the same format - lockPref("setting", and then either a boolean or "string");
My problem is that Firefox is completely ignoring any settings places in the mozilla.cfg file. If the file isn't there, or is unreadable, Firefox refuses to start (unable to read config file). I've tried commenting out all but one of the settings (lockPref("browser.startup.homepage", "about:blank"), but I'm still not seeing the setting set or recorded in about:config. Both files are UTF-8 encoded. I've tried removing the try statement, as well as the second commented line, and commenting out individual config statements (and all but one config statement), but still no change in the browser.
Anyone know why my config changes are being ignored?

It appears that the [code]pref("general.config.obscure_value", 0);[/code] doesn't actually work, so I had to remove it from the .js file and ROT13 encode the mozilla.cfg I was using.

INFORMIX 9 and SUN Studio Enterprise Configuration

Attention all informix to java programmers
Architecture regulations obliges the use of the J2EE platform. Sun ONE
Application server 7 is the appserver to use and Informix Dynamic Server
9.22 the database. This is not the most mainstream combination.
Especially since Sun ONE doesn't support the Informix database.
It turned out that you can use this combination, but you need to apply
some workarounds.
First you need to know which properties to set for the datasource. This
is the list:

DatabaseName=testdb
The values are examples. Be careful of the syntax. The first letter
should be a capital!
The second adjustment is a little harder. Because Informix syntax isn't
fully ANSI92 compliant (it doesn't support right joins),
the persistence manager of Sun ONE generates illegal SQL when
fulfilling it's CMP responsabilities.
To solve this problem you need to add a property file to the
appserv-cmp.jar.
This lib is part of the Sun ONE server libraries and you can find it at
{Sun ONE INSTALLDIR}/lib.
The file name should be "INFORMIX DYNAMIC SERVER.properties" and it
should go under the folder
com/sun/jdo/spi/persistence/support/sqlstore/database.

I want to create a new EPT (project server 2013) using C# CSOM library.
