MX DataGrid Footer row working in FB 4.5

Can someone please provide a sample of having a footer row for mx datagrid working in FB 4.5?
Thanks

Thanks for the info rangora!
I am trying to work with a tutorial creating a mobile twitter app
(http://wwwimages.adobe.com/www.adobe.com/content/dam/Adobe/en/devnet/flex/articles/twitter -trends/build-first-mobile-flex-app.pdf)
Following the tutorial:..
Trying to connect  the data service with the url he gives (http://search.twitter.com/trends.json)
returns 404 not found... URL changed since tutorial was made maybe? I dont know?
So went to twitter here (https://dev.twitter.com/docs/api/1/get/trends) and used this
(http://api.twitter.com/1/trends.json)
and was connected via flashbuilder test. ok good.
The tutorial has me set the name of the app in the properties dialouge under common as "twitter trends" then
continue on,  and set debug configurations then run.
The app never connects..... and allways shows.. "Home View" as the title.??( I named the app twitter trends in the wizaed setup and in properties )
I am sure you can tell by now I am new to  flash builder!
Also Red Circle with X in gutter.. shows within the view file's source page,  (not the application File) stating---   "Cannot resolve attribute 'viewActive' for component type spark.components.View". this occurs after trying to insert  viewActive="refresh()"  into the <s:view> tag,  in which the tutorial calls for this to be done to refresh the page view when using the "back control" in the app.(switching views)
4.5 returns red X error saying.. parse error.. must be inside <fx:declaration> tag...  so I put it in there,  and
4.5  returns error ... cannot follow <s: callresponder>.(which is inside the declaration tag) so I moved it between the </fx:script tag>
and the <fx:Declarations> tag> and still the same error statement....huh...it is not inside the declarations tag anymore and still in the s:view tag's scope, just lower in the page.
hoping to find some kind of answer to this.
"just trying to learn"
Thanks

  • Dynamic footer row prints outside the content area

    Hi,
    I'm using LiveCycle Designer ES 8.2.1. I also have a web application injecting data into the report I created with LiveCycle. The basic structure is the following:
    1 Master page with 1 page and a content area containing a table filled with a list of object. My table has 1 header row, 2 body rows and a footer row that is added dynamically with page break condition.
    The logic behind that is written in FormCalc. Our objects are sent as a list which fills either one or the other body row based on a type. Each object has an "authority" property with a certain value that are used to mark the pages. The list of object is sorted by authority. So, when the current iterating object has a different authority than the previous one, we insert a page brake and the footer row. Everything is wraped in a subform that is "In Content Area" (Object/Pagination/Place).
    The problem is that the footer row is not considered as part of the content area. If the last line of a section fits tight in the content area, the footer row overflows outside the content area and even the whole page in some cases.
    Here are more details:
    We tried any combination of subform wraping and ticking of the "Allow page break with content" check box.
    We tried changing the type of the footer row for a body row in case footers were different than body rows.
    We tried every combination of "Keep with" and "place".
    We tried to change the footer row to a body row and have it displayed on every page and that work, but our client refused the solution...
    Starting with the above (pt 4) template and changing back the body to footer row brought us to the begining
    To the best of our knowledge, we tried everyting possible...
    What I'm looking for is either a confirmed bug for version 8.2.1 about this or a solution other than redesigning the whole report.
    Best regards,
    Sylvain Cloutier

    Hi,
    I know this might no help to solve my issue, but this document doesn't belong to me and I'm afraid I cannot share the file on the internet. It belongs to our client to whom we offer support on this. You know... I'd probably lose my job!
    Though, I've been trying with Adobe LiveCycle Designer ES4 11.0.0 and the same problem occurs. It looks like the row is added to the table after the whole document was produced, so it seems to be working as designed.

  • Previous record values displaying in the Group Footer row in the report.

    Hi Friends,
    I have 3 tables
    TableA:(PERNR BEGDA ENDDA are key fields)

    I have joined these table by the key 'PERNR'( like A->B and A->C)
    Groped by the same key 'PERNR'
    My result rows in the report:

    PERNR: 10001                     WERKS:1001
    SUBTY: 02                          AMNT :2000 (Current date)
                                                AMNT :1000 (Previous record)
    I created the format with "Previous" function
    but in the report it is giving the '2000' instead of '1000' in the AMT field
    Please help me, can i use the for loop in the report? or any sugessions?
    Thanks in advance.

    A group footer will dis[lay contents of the last record. You need to sort records to ensure that the last record contains link to your dynamic image.

    No, it is incompatible and has been withdrawn by Apple.

  • How to add a footer row to an existing table?

    The LiveCycle on-line help is pretty cryptic on this one . . . .
    I have an existing table in a form in which the designer (me) left off a footer row by mistake. In lieu of deleting the table and rebuilding it using the Table Assistant, is there a way to add a footer row to the existing table? The on-line help seems to indicate that it's possible, but offers little in the way of instruction on how to do it.
    Thanks in advance!
    Bill

    Hi Bill,
    in your hierarchy view of your table,
    selsct the body row of your tabke and
    right-click and select 'Insert'.
    Then select 'Rows below'.
    You will see a new row beneath your original body row.
    Select your new row, and in your Object tab, select 'Footer Row' under type.
    Now, under the Pagination tab select wether you want to see the footer row on every page or just the last page.
    Good Luck!

  • Freezing Footer row

    I lOVE freezing header rows to see them as I scroll down the page. I want to freeze the Footer row to see the same thing on a multi-page spreadsheet. How can I do this please?

    b,
    You can't freeze the Footer, but you can add another Header Row and put the Footer content there.

  • Does Front Row work with PowerPC G4?

    Does Front Row work with PowerPC G4? Where can I get it?

    There are ways, but it has limited ablities since you don't have the IR based remote needed. There is a "hack" of sorts which tricks front row to install on other Macs. I have it on my Power Mac G4 and my ibook as well. Just do a google search.
    There is nothing illegal about the hack since you download the free update from the apple website. All the hack does it make the installer think you have a iMac or Macbook Pro.

  • Datagrid change row event with tab AND/OR click ???

    I have a spark datagrid with the last two columns enterable.
    The natural approach for the user is to click in one and enter it then keep tabbing from cell to cell row to row to do his/her data entry.
    Selectionchanging works only if you click, the selection does not keep up with the tab from row to row.
    I want to enter the new data for each row when the user leaves the row.
    What is the best way to approach this particular (and common) need.
    Thanks

    Hi again,
    I think I was not clear enough. Basically I have a textfield assigned with a style, let's say TextFieldStyle1. What I want is to programmatically assign the textfield another style, say, TextFieldStyle2.
    How can I achieve that ?

  • DataGrid Conditional Row Hiding ?

    Hello Everyone, I am trying to solve this basic and simple
    Datagrid problem and could not find any help anywhere so I have to
    resort to the experts here.
    I have an XML with nodes that contain an attribute value that
    I'm checking for to decide if I should display the row or not. For
    example, consider this XML
    xmlVar:XML = <XML>
    <a row="1" visibility="Invisible" />
    <a row="2" visibility="Visible" />
    <a row="3" visibility="Visible" />
    <a row="4" visibility="Visible" />
    <a row="5" visibility="Invisible" />
    </XML>
    The dataprovider for the datagrid would simply be {xmlVar.a}
    and the datagridcoulmn's dataprovider would be say "@row" Now lets
    say I want to only display rows that have the visibility="Visible"
    So the datagrid would only display "row" 2, 3, and 4 In other
    words, a conditional display of a a datagrid row. Hope you guys
    understand what I mean here. Is this even possible to do ?? I know
    other solutions as using temporary variable to store the xml nodes
    that have visibility="Visible" and then use that to feed in to the
    datagrid. That is a very inefficient solution to this problem.
    Wondering if anyone of you have a smarter/efficient way of solving
    this issue.
    Thanks in advance.

    Well, I figured it out myself. For those who are interested.
    I just threw in the conditional in to the data provider and it
    makes sense and works like a charm ! Sometimes, things are so much
    easier than you think it is !
    dataProvider = {xmlVar.a.(@visibility!='Invisible')}
    Done deal.

  • Changing selectindex in AS of a datagrid doesn't work!?

    I'm having a real problem changing the selectedindex of a datagrid on the fly after a re-sort (Using AS3 with Flex4). See below. Particularly the
    function call comments. My sort works and it gets assigned to ldimmer_checkChannel.selectedIndex with the correct value, but
    when the function call finishes ldimmer_checkChannel.selectedIndex revers to -1. Why???/
    protected function channelSortMode(event:IndexChangeEvent):void
    var currentCircuit:int = current_rack[0].rackLevels.getItemAt(ldimmer_checkChannel.selectedIndex).circuit;
    var i:int=0;
    //Change to Circuit Mode
    if (event.newIndex == 1) {
      current_rack[0].sortByCircuit();  //According to Debug this is resorting just fine.
      for (i=0; i < current_rack[0].circuits; i++)
       if (current_rack[0].rackLevels[i].circuit == currentCircuit) {
       break;
    //Change to UDN Mode
    if (event.newIndex == 0) {
      current_rack[0].sortByUdn();      //According to Debug this is resorting just fine.
      for (i=0; i < current_rack[0].circuits; i++)
       if (current_rack[0].rackLevels[i].circuit == currentCircuit) {
       break;
    ldimmer_checkChannel.selectedIndex = i;          //This is working and setting the correct index
    current_rack[0].currentSort = event.newIndex;
    }  // At the end of this function call ldimmer_checkChannel.selectedIndex is reverting to -1 according to debug.
    <mx:DataGrid id="ldimmer_checkChannel" x="21" y="33" height="124" width="199" selectedIndex="2" dataProvider="{ current_rack.getItemAt(0).rackLevels }">
    <mx:columns>
      <mx:DataGridColumn id="field1" dataField="udn" headerText="UDN" />
      <mx:DataGridColumn id="field2" dataField="circuit" headerText="Circuit" />
    </mx:columns>
    </mx:DataGrid>
    <s:ComboBox x="10" y="5" id="channelMode" dataProvider="{ channelTypes }" change="channelSortMode(event)" selectedIndex="{ current_rack.getItemAt(0).currentSort }"/>

    Thanks for the response. I fear this may be my problem. Here are my sorts in the class:
    public function sortByUdn():void
    var udnSort:Sort = new Sort()
    udnSort.fields = new Array();
    udnSort.fields.push(new SortField('udn',true,false,true));
    this.rackLevels.sort = udnSort;
    this.rackLevels.refresh();
    public function sortByCircuit():void
    var circuitSort:Sort = new Sort()
    circuitSort.fields = new Array();
    circuitSort.fields.push(new SortField('circuit',true,false,true));
    this.rackLevels.sort = circuitSort;
    this.rackLevels.refresh();
    So maybe I'm going about this wrong. My knowledge of sorts is a bit rough. (I wish there was an adobeTV video on sorts). Here is my intent. rackLevels is loaded on initialization. It is an arraycollection of of 100-150 records each containing information, but the most important bits of information per instance are called 'circuit', and 'udn. These are the 2 fields I care about. The user sees both of these in the datagrid. Like below:
    UDN    Circuit
    1              56
    2              90
    4              80
    5              14
    A seperate combo box exists to choose the sort:
    <s:ComboBox x="10" y="5" id="channelMode" dataProvider="{ channelTypes }" change="channelSortMode(event)" selectedIndex="{ current_rack.getItemAt(0).currentSort }"/>
    Which runs a function channelSortMode in the Rack class to choose the sort functon above to run. So here is what I'm trying to acheieve. The default sort is UDN. If the user has selected the row 4 (In this case UDN 4 / Circuit 80). I grab that record currently with the selectedIndex, and use the data in the row to perform another function. But if the user uses the combobox to then sort by Circuit the datagrid re-sorts but I lose the selectedIndex selection of UDN 4 / Circuit 80. When the re-sort happens I want to keep the current selection?
    Any help would be great!? Any ideas? Thanks!

  • DataGrid Moving rows up and down

    I have this function to move rows up in a datagrid , yet i am having problems when it comes to move to rows down. I have tried changing the following line to +1 but it dint work any hints please.
                ac.addItemAt(itemToShift,dg.selectedIndex-1);
    This is the code
    public function up():void
                if(dg.selectedIndex == -1)
                    Alert.show("Select the row which you want to up.");
                    return;
                if(dg.selectedIndex == 0)return;
                var selectedRowInx : Number = dg.selectedIndex;
                var itemToShift : Object = ac.getItemAt(selectedRowInx) as Object;
                ac.addItemAt(itemToShift,dg.selectedIndex-1);
                ac.removeItemAt(dg.selectedIndex);
                dg.invalidateDisplayList();

    Okay.  So, I made the code a little simpler than what I said. With my code, you could have selected a row, clicked a cut button, then selected a another row to past afterwards or whatever.  Here is the code for simply moving the row up and down.
    I added code to catch if the row was at the top or the bottom of the data.  Also, I created two indexes, one for the grid and one for the array collection.  It will probably work with the one index, but I was trying to see if I could do the move on a sorted datagrid, but that is basically pointless.
    protected function moveUpBtn_clickHandler(event:MouseEvent):void
    var upSelectedIndex:int = myDataGrid.selectedIndex;
    // Move Item
    if(upSelectedIndex > -1) {
      if(upSelectedIndex > 0) {
       // Get the selected Object
       var moveObject:Object = myArrayCollection.getItemAt(upSelectedIndex);
       // Get actual Object location if grid is sorted
       var upActualIndex:int = myArrayCollection.getItemIndex(moveObject);
       // Remove selected item at actualIndex
       myArrayCollection.removeItemAt(upActualIndex);
       myArrayCollection.refresh();
       // Move both indexes
       upActualIndex--;
       upSelectedIndex--;
       // insert item at actualIndex
       myDataGrid.dataProvider.addItemAt(moveObject, upActualIndex);
       myArrayCollection.refresh();
       // select grid at selectedIndex
       myDataGrid.selectedIndex = upSelectedIndex;
      } else {
       Alert.show("Item is currently at the top of the list.", "Move Alert",  Alert.OK, this);
    } else {
      Alert.show("No Item Selected.", "Move Alert",  Alert.OK, this);
    protected function moveDownBtn_clickHandler(event:MouseEvent):void
    var downSelectedIndex:int = myDataGrid.selectedIndex;
    if(downSelectedIndex > -1) {
      // Move Item
      if(downSelectedIndex < myArrayCollection.length -1) {
       // Get the selected Object
       var moveObject:Object = myArrayCollection.getItemAt(downSelectedIndex);
       // Get actual Object location if grid is sorted
       var downActualIndex:int = myArrayCollection.getItemIndex(moveObject);
       // Remove selected item at actualIndex
       myArrayCollection.removeItemAt(downActualIndex);
       myArrayCollection.refresh();
       // Move both indexes
       downActualIndex++;
       downSelectedIndex++;
       // insert item at actualIndex
       myDataGrid.dataProvider.addItemAt(moveObject, downActualIndex);
       myArrayCollection.refresh();
       // select grid at selectedIndex
       myDataGrid.selectedIndex = downSelectedIndex;
      } else {
       Alert.show("Item is currently at the bottom of the list.", "Move Alert",  Alert.OK, this);
    } else {
      Alert.show("No Item Selected.", "Move Alert",  Alert.OK, this);
