MX922 no longer printing in color *Updated*

Mac OsX Yosemite, Word 2011, Document containing text and graphics, text prints, graphics do not.  Everything prints in black, no color.
*Updated to add:*
Ran all tests, and everything tests normally.
Color copies also print in black and white.  There has to be a solution to this???

Hi mbsimmons,
To see if all of the inkjet nozzles are dispensing the ink correctly, please print a nozzle check pattern from the printer following the steps located here.  After printing the nozzle check pattern, please compare it to a correctly printed nozzle check pattern located here.  Did the nozzle check pattern print correctly?

  • Hp officejet 6600 no longer printing in color

My printer is no longer printing in color.  It prints with a little blue, but no magenta or yellow.  According to the printer, there is plenty of ink in all.  I have tried cleaning the printer heads, turning off and unplugging printer, shaking ink and reinstalling.  I am not sure what the problem is and am looking for a way to fix it.

Hello @kbfergi , and welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience!
I understand that you're running into quality issues.  I would like to help!
Does this issue occur when making a copy, or only when printing?
I would recommend removing the ink cartridges from the printer, and performing a power reset.  Disconnect the power cord from the printer and the power outlet, then wait 60 seconds. After 60 seconds, plug the printer back in. Ensure you plug the printer directly to a wall outlet. Make sure to bypass any sort of surge protector or power bar.
I would also suggest utilizing the steps laid out in this document on Fixing Ink Streaks, Faded Prints, and Other Common Print Quality Problems.
Good luck and please let me know the results of your troubleshooting steps. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums!

  • My HP Photosmart 3210 no longer prints in color. Why?

A friend messed around with my Photosmart 3210 and it no longer prints in color.  It also operates at too high a speed.  I have looked at all the settings I know how to look at and have had no luck finding a cure.  What should I do?

    Hi,
Please try the following and let me know if that may help:
Unplug the router from its power source, make sure the router is disconnected for not less than 30 seconds.
    Turn the printer Off.
    Turn the iPad off.
Plug the power back to the power source, then allow 2-3 minutes till the router is fully up.
Turn the iPad and the printer back on.
Allow a minute or two to fully establish the network connection and try printing again.
    Can you see any difference?
Say thanks by clicking the Kudos thumb up in the post.

  • HP LaserJet 1018 no longer prints after security update

After installing the following updates on my HP Pavilion dv71023cl running Windows Vista:
Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer 9 for Windows Vista for x64-based Systems (KB2817183)
    Installation date: ‎4/‎12/‎2013 4:06 PM

and a new driver for the 1018 from HP:
    Hewlett-Packard - Printers - HP LaserJet 1018
    Installation date: ‎4/‎21/‎2013 2:01 PM
    Installation status: Successful
    Update type: Optional
Hewlett-Packard Printers software update released in September, 2012
    More information:

It appears I can no longer print from Internet Explorer 9.
Clicking on gear icon and selecting the Print item, shows the Microsoft XPS Document Writer is highlighted instead of the HP Laserjet 1018 as I expect. When I select the HP Laserjet 1018, the Print Button becomes grayed-out.
Attemping to print from Adobe Reader X also hangs the application.
However, printing is working when using Open Office.
I cannot recall if I attempted to print between the time these 2 updates were installed, so cannot determine which is the cause of the problem.
    This question was solved.

Sounds like you've run into some printer issues since your most recent update. First I wold recommend removing the software and then going to the HP website and re installing the software from the direct driver downloads.
First if you use a USB cord, make sure to remove it (this is important). Do not plug it back in until the software directs you to. Then go through the Devices and Printers, Programs and Features and Device Manager folders and insure that all copies, files, and programs related to the printer are removed. Then as directed, restart the computer.
In the START menu type "%temp%" and press ENTER. Here I want you to press Ctrl+A and hit DELETE. Some of the files will not allow you to delete them, skip those files and delete the majority that allows it.
Download this file, and if optional use the Full-feature software.

If that does not work I would try the PL6 drivers :

Install that and let me know the result!
    Have a great day!
I hope you are having a wonderful week, and I hope that the weather where you are located is as beautiful there as it is here!

  • Printer is no longer printing accurate color renditions!

Our printer is a C7280. We completed the Extended Self Test Diagnostic to check the color renditions.  All colors including black come through perfectly on the test.  When we copy page two of the test pages, the black copies as charcoal and the two magentas copy with approximately 50% of the color.  Both magentas are very light.  We have replaced the ink cartridges and there is no change.  All color print commands (other than the Diagnostic Test) through our computer result in very poor quality pictures that are mostly blues and greens.  The blacks are acceptable although not the best.  What do we do next?

You seem to have marked your own post as "This solved my question."
One other thing: You either used the "Ask your question" field on this discussion board or you've been misled by poor field labeling on this forum.  In either case, you typed a large part of your message into the field intended for the subject.  In the future, use the "Start a discussion" link on the right, then just type a short summary of your post into the first (subject) field, then type the whole message into the field below that.

  • Officejet pro 6500 no longer prints color

My Officejet Pro 6500 (A909) will no longer print in color.  I've done all the basic checks - print cartridges full, clean/align print heads, etc. to no avail.   I've restarted the device as well.  The all-in-one is less than a year old and did print color documents initially.  But now, it will on print in black and white.  I'm using the same computers as before when it would print in color.  What could be causing this and how to fix it?   Thanks

    Sorry>  That was the 8500, not 6500 All-in-one

  • How can I get my network printer to print in color?

I have a Dell 3110cn color printer on my network. Since I did the Maverick update the printer will no longer print in color only b&w. It's using a generic printer driver. I had no problems before the update. It's a great workhorse printer. How can I get this connected properly?

Bruce777 solved this for me, thank you Bruce! My printer now works perfectly on my new wifi network!
Bruce's  instructions, for anyone else having the same issue:
    - delete any previously set up printers
    - scrub old hp software and update software to get the hp 2.8 drivers
    - remove the usb cable from the printer if you have one connected
    - reset the printer network to hpsetup (hold down the power button and press network button 2x and then cancel 3x, release power button.)
    - print out the wireless network test report (hold down the network button and press the update button 2x). verify the network name / ssid is hsetup
    - got to sys prefs > network and change the mac wireless network to hpsetup
    - go to the sys pref > print scan
    - add the HP 8000 printer
    - click on the options and supplies button and click on the Show Printer Webpage
    - click on the networking tab > wireless in the left pane > start network wizard and change the network from hpsetup to your network
    - finish (this page may freeze up.  close the browser)
    - go back to the sys prefs and change the wireless network back to your networt
    - go to the printer and print out the wireless network test report (press network button and update button 2x).  Check that the SSID is your network
    - go to sys prefs > print scan > select your printer > options & supplies > show printer webpage > network info (check ssid and compare to wireless network test report)
    - try printing something to your printer.  It might take a little time the first print.

  • LaserJet Pro 400 MFP M475dw doesn't print in color after replacing toner cartridges

Replaced all color toner cartridged when printer indicated they were empty.  Printer is no longer printing in color.  It's as though it doesn't recognize that new cartridges were installed.  Is there something I need to reset on the printer?

Run a supplies status page from the report menu to see if any color appears.  If it does you either have a driver issue or one or more of the colors cartridges is still reading as empty as there is a setting to print using black and white when one or more color cartridges are empty.  I believe it is under the print quality menu.

  • HP 7130 won't print in color

I've installed the most recent driver from HP. Can get some of the printer's functionality but cannot print colors. Not sure if I'm missing a setting or if it is a problem with the HP driver for Leopard (as I've seen in other posts). Printer is connected directly through USB. Please help.

Hello there! Welcome to the forums @RVG66
I read about how your Deskjet 845c is no longer printing in color. I am here to offer you one of my suggestions that might help.
Remove the ink cartridge(s) and gently clean off the electrical contacts with a lint free cloth dampened with a little bottled/distilled water. Unplug the printer while you clean the contacts. When the contacts are dry, insert them back in the printer and plug the printer back in and test print.
    Good luck!!!
If the troubleshooting does not help resolve your issue, I would then suggest calling HP's Technical Support to see about further options for you, such as a replacement or trade in. • HP 845c won't print in color

I have an HP Deskjet 845c that I just connected by USB to a laptop running Windows 8.1.  Black prints just fine, but I can't get it to print in color at all.  The printer used to be connected to a PC running Windows 7 and wasn't being used much, especially when it stopped printing in color.  I've checked that the most current driver is installed.  I can't find a way to clean or align the printheads.  Any suggestions?

Hi there @k21 , Welcome to the HP Community!
I read about how your Envy 5530, is no longer printing in color!
I would recommend that you try out the troubleshooting steps from the guide below to start with. If the color printing does not come back, the printhead is most likely damaged or has failed. Consider giving us a call directly to discuss your printer options with HP if that happens.
Printer Does Not Print Black Ink or Color Ink, or Prints Blank Pages

  • HP Photosmart C5180 not printing in color

I recently replaced my old IMac with a new one, running OS X 10.9.4.  Now my HP Photosmart C5180 will no longer print in color.  I have no options to change from color to black and white and I can no longer access supply levels.  The latest software for the printer was uploaded the day I connected the printer to the computer.  Is there a fix for this or do I have to bite the bullet and buy a new printer?

Here is the Print menu that I get - no color matching option available.  I used to be able to chose from several Presets - now the only thing that shows up in that drop-down menu is "Default" or "Last Used Settings".

  • Can no longer properly print to colour laser printer after latest update

    Hi,
I've just updated my iLife '08/Leopard software using software update. It would appear that I can no longer print greeting cards etc. from iPhoto to my colour laser printer since this update. All photos are printed in a very pale yellow colour that is hardly visible.
I've tried a couple of things to diagnose the problem:
    1. Saved the file as a PS and printed it from a different machine running Tiger. Same result as before: Pale yellow.
    2. Viewed the PS file using Preview on the Tiger and Leopard machines. The colours were normal.
    3. Saved just the image (i.e., no greeting card pattern) to desktop and printed it from my Leopard machine. The picture printed out perfectly on the colour laser printer.
    4. Printed the greeting card to an inkjet. That seems to work, too.
    5. Just in case there was a problem with the new greeting card, I tried to print an old card that perfectly printed before. It, too, came out in a pale yellow.
So there appears to be some problem printing from the latest version of iPhoto to my colour laser printer. I did update the printer driver, just in case, but still have the same problem. Any ideas what else I could try?
The printer is an HP Color Laserjet 2550L

I have just discovered that I can properly print pictures from iPhoto to the colour laser, as long as I don't put them in a greeting card. So that seems to be the trigger.

  • Color Printing Problems after update dec28/07

Last night I installed the latest updates for PS CS3 on 2 machines and both machines have the exact same color issues while printing with two different Canon printers.
    The Problem:
Since this last update all images I try in print from 16bit ProPhoto or AdobeRGB 16bit, converted from Canon RAW through ACR look sepia tone, there is virtually no color (images still look as they did before on my monitor). In order to get the color to print I must convert image profiles to 8 or 16 Bit sRGB. I have not changed any settings after the update and confirmed that the update made no changes to the printers set up. sRGB 8bit jpeg images print color as seen on the monitor.
BOTTOM LINE: I can no longer print ProPhoto or AdobeRGB color space on my 8 color Canon Printer

    Thanks Jeff
Both computers are PCs, one on XP, one on Vista, and printers are Canon i9900 and Canon ip4000 both are printing exactly the same way. Swoped printers between PCs with same outcome. Only changes made to both PCs was the CS3 update.
Jeff, I thought the problem may stem from the ACR RAW conversion as regular sRGB jpegs print the color as seen on my monitor. I have also submitted this question to the general PS forum...
Thanks again for taking the time to reply..

It appears to be a bug with the current build. Hopefully it will be fixed in the next release.
