My 1080p Apple TV intermittently flashes digital snow!

My 1080p Apple TV intermittently flashes digital snow, then black and then back to content when running in 1080p. It seems to do this after it warms up. Once it starts up it continues to do this until I shut it down for the night, or switch to 720p. It does not do this at all when set to 720p.
Apple has replaced it once, so it would be odd to have two hardward failures.
I have swapped HDMI ports and cables.
It does this regardless of content and will do it even when just on the menu. It seems to be heat related.
It is connected to 55" 2012 Panasonic 1080P Plasma TV, My 1080p Blu-Ray is fine.

But I have swapped 3 hi-speed cables, and again, zero issue with 1080p on the Blu-ray. It is interesting that it will work for nearly 20-30 minutes after it has been asleep, but then starts to act up a little, then more, and then constantly until I switch to 720p or let it sleep. Otherwise it is unwatchable.
The material does not alter it. So if rewind, it still flashes snow, then black and then back to content, but in different places within the programming. Sometimes if it stays black too long the tv will say that their is no HDMI device connected.
I know that sometimes handshake issues have to be resolved between manufactures via firmware updates. The TV has only been on the market here for about 5 weeks.
Any other thoughts?

You should really read the manual.

Restore. When given the choice, choose to use backup.
"And how can I check to see if the pics and videos are on my computer somewhere first??"
They would only be where you put them. What program did you use to import them? Pics/vids taken with ipod are not part of the sync process at all. You should be importing them just as you would with any digital camera.
If you did not import them, then they are not on your computer.

Strangely enough, I exchanged the ATV2 and ATV3 and now both work fine. I suspect it may have something to do with the fact that (previously) the ATV3 (1080p) was behind an ethernet hub. Somehow the ATV2 (720p) does not mind being behind the hub. Either that or iTunes suddenly became smarter since the exchange . Anyway, it works now so I'm not touching it. Thanks for the suggestion.

Fuzzy picture... like digital snow over everything

I just set up my appleTV and when the picture comes up it seems like there's digital snow all over the screen. I tested my network connection and it was good. My download speed is good. I'm connected thru my Denon home theater receiver via monster HDMI cable. What is causing this and how can I fix it?

Wow... I'm answering my own question! Anyway, I was getting fuzzy picture when I first set up my apple tv... Network Signal was fine but still the picture was grainy. After a few hours of trial and error... and a call from a home theater buddy of mine I got it solved. Make sure you are using up to date and working HDMI cables. I cannot stress what a difference that makes. I changed the HDMI cable from my receiver to my screen and voila' AppleTV was looking fabulous! If your HDMI cable are more than a couple of years old or cheap... REPLACE THEM. NOW IF I COULD ONLY GET HULU ON MY APPLE TV

G5 only shows digital snow after Safari 3.2.1 update!

I have a G5 2Ghz DP running OS 10.5.5 with 4GB mem, ATI Radeon X800 graphics card and AJA Kona, and Sonnet Tempo SATA for an internal 1TB RAID additional to the OS drive's 320 GB. After running the last update that offered Safari 3.2.1 my computer now only displays "digital snow" on both the DVI desktop display and even on the AJA. All was fine until it rebooted for the install. Now I cannot see anything to do anything. I have even tried logging in through screen share on back to my mac but only get the same display but I can at least see where the mouse pointer is by how the snow moves on the other computer. BTW, the computer's fans are now "moaning" by running slowly then slightly faster in a 3 second cycle.
How can I force the computer to recognize the video card? would yanking that card and restarting without a card then replacing it bring it back to where I can see the displays? Help!

I fixed it!!!!!!! Yes! Ok. Well I don't have an earthly clue to what the folder did, or where it went or came from, but the SuperDrive (TSST Corp HD-DVD-RW+-RDL/CD-RW) was not the Apple Shipped Drive. So I put the original Apple Shipped Drive (Pioneer DVD/CD-RW) ComboDrive back in there and it actually came up! So then I got my Mac OS X 10.4.6 Tiger (Retail) Install/Restore DVD and put it in there so fast that I put it in upsidedown and was scared that it wouldn't work when I saw that it never mounted on the desktop. So then I ejected the ComboDrive, and saw that it was upsidedown, and said F**k I'm an idiot!, and put it back in there (once more) and it mounted and so I did a clean install with the ComboDrive, then when it finished, I put the SuperDrive back in and it was actually recognized! Then I did another Clean install so that it saw that it was the main optical drive, and it too, worked!!!

How can I connect Apple tv to a digital projector that does not have an HDMI connection?

Connecting a new 1080p Apple TV to Component TV

Just purchased a new 1080p Apple TV and want to connect it to my older plasma TV with component inputs. I purchased one of these, http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=101&cp_id=10114&cs_id=1011410 &p_id=8125&seq=1&format=2, to do the conversion, but I'm not able to get a clear picture. All of the lines are slanted down to the left, like it can't sync. Audio seems to be working OK. I also tried connecting an HDMI DVD player, and that works fine, so the converter is apparently working correctly. Any idea why the Apple TV isn't playing nice with the converter?

Trying to decide whether to connect to receiver using HDMI or optical.

I have gone through FOUR of the new "black box" Apple TVs (and a couple of brand-new HDMI cables). They all have this problem: Lift the unit and the picture goes black. There is clearly a manufacturing defect in the HDMI port for ALL Apple TV units.
Furthermore, it has become apparent that when inadvertently disconnecting HDMI when powered on (or deliberately) it eventually causes the HDMI port to fail completely.

After updating my ipod touch to the 6.0 it wont work at all. It shows the apple and the flashes a page then it goes back to the apple.What should I do with it.

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Have you tried rebooting your iPad?
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
If that does not work, you can try restoring your iPad iOS Software.

Make sure that you read the article all the way through and pay attention to the last part that talks about using recovery mode.
