My 1GB Data Keeps Being Used When I Am Only Browsing - Please Help!
On Tuesday 10 February 2015 I topped up £10.00 and used £7.50 of it to purchase 1GB of data. Once I did this I didn't think anything of it. I came onto the internet and started browsing webpages to find that my data was being guzzled down in the background and then I definitely knew something was wrong because I wasn't streaming or downloading anything, I was just browsing. I then rang EE and they apologized about this and added 1GB back on for me as a goodwill gesture, except as soon as they did that, it did it all over again. I then rang them back up once again and they told me to install the My Data Calculator application within the Play Store so I did just that but it only showed that the Wi-Fi tethering was using this but like I said above, I was only browsing not downloading anything. None of you did anything to help me and I suggest that you need to sort this out! I would like a full investigation on this because I paid £7.50 for data and to be honest, I will be very lucky if I have used a small portion of it!
I am having exactly the same problem! I have subscribed to the mobile broadband service for 3 months with a 15gb allowance per month and use it only a couple of times a week when working away. My browsing habits have not changed either but I also find that my allowance is used up quickly. I topped up 1gb on Monday and started to use it Tuesday and within a few hours it was gone. It would be impossible as I was only browsing. I have a 1gb allowance with my phone on the 3 network and I dont use that in one month!!! There is definetly something sinister going on. Tried to contact online customer services but said it wasnt their problem told me to ring a number they gave me before rudely disconnecting me. Dreadful service. There is for sure unfair tactics at play here. Impossible that 1gb would be decimated in a matter of hours.

It will use minimal internet bandwidth unless your content is streaming from web>iPad>AppleTV.
Local network comms for content already on the iPad (eg presentations) will not generally use internet bandwidth apart from protected iTunes material that requires brief internet authorisation.

Ipod says that files are being used by another application...please help!
My ipod lost all of my music but tells me that there is apparently still the same amount of memory used, i just can't access my music. To fix this, i'm trying to restore my ipod and just resync the music. However, every time i click restore i get the message "Itunes can not restore Ipod because it contains files in use by another application" even though there are no other applications running. I've ever tried restarting the computer to be sure that no applications are running. Please help!
I had the same issue with my new iPod 4gb nano. To be perfectly honest, I fixed it and I'm not exactly sure what part of the process actually did the job, so I'm going to attempt to explain it as best I can.
Basically I bought the nano to replace my 160gb classic aka paperweight. I'm currently deployed and the thought of traveling back to the US without a portable music player made me shudder. Within 4 days new nano click wheel decided to do the whole dying thing where I could click the buttons but not scroll through my music/change volume. I took the defunct iPod back to the BX and they exchanged it. I got home and discovered the "new" one they gave me was actually one that had been returned..because it popped up as "josh's ipod" when I plugged it in. So I'm on my third device and you can imagine when my computer informed me said device was corrupt and couldn't be read by my computer..I was pretty peeved. It took 7 or 8 tries to get the new nano update to install on my slow connection and when it finally did..I got the message that the files were in use by another application and couldn't be restored. I restarted the computer, made sure all other applications were shut down, checked my virus software. No dice. I ejected the ipod from my computer, plugged it back in and went into itunes preferences and clicked on "reset sync history". I think at this point it then treated the iPod as if it had never been plugged into my computer before. I then attempted the restore again, it did its thing and I now have a nice, new functioning iPod. -

I am trying to return some data from a an oracle database but I have to do that using a web service and I am using AXIS. For example below is a simple program that returns two columns for the demo EMP table

So I would use APEX_COLLECTION (there is some information in APEX documentation).
Read all data you need to keep after submit and save them to your collection. Then, if validation fails, show report with data not from base, but from your collection. You have to create process, which creates collection, and you need to modify your report definition to get data not only from DB but also from collection.

How can I change (or select) what is being being used when I share, as the file cover. When I Share lets say "Master File" i want to select a frame that is used as the file cover. So when its on my desktop I see this image as the file icon.
I don't think Finder does this (I've tried).
iTunes does though. Where you can set artwork or the "poster frame"...
This may not be what you want but if it helps, I know 2 ways do this is
Open the video in QuicktimePlayer7 | View | Set Poster Frame (even then, you might need to save it as .mov (ie in a 'mov container').
Drag the file into iTunes and set the artwork (as in http://www.dummies.com/how-to/content/adding-album-cover-art-or-images-in-itunes .html)
From there, iTunes will use that frame as the "poster frame" ie the photo/frame that shows when you browse your videos. Which is what you want, but limited to iTunes.
When I do either of these above, the frame I set does not show when exploring files in "Finder" (or in the other Explorer tool I use called "Pathfinder").
So it maybe, that exactly what you want, is not possible. -

NimaiIt's up to your reporting requirement to go for dso or cube..
I prefer to having staging with DSO and then further reporting on Cube ..
It's always easier to manage when you have any changes to the cube .. you need not to extract data from R/3 .. if you have dso you can extract directly to cube
Another thing is -for any reason some of your records got corrupted so you can have full loads to dso which has the overwrite functionality... and sends delta records to cube. even in cube you can do selective deletion but we have to very careful to avoid double records in next loads

My iphoto 09 keeps on downloading duplicates to a temp folder without asking when I drag a photo from firefox over to iphoto to import it. It does not happen when using safari. can some one please help?

Why is my old apple id being used when I try to update on app store?
My original apple id was an old email account which I didn't often use and because of my lack of usage the email address expired without me knowing, so I changed my apple id and password etc in "manage my account" and when purchasing new app's all is fine, I'm able to purchase and log in using my new email addy, however when I'm prompted I have updates waiting and I press update, my old apple id (email addy) is brought up which I can no longer access as the email verification is going to the old email addy which no longer exsists!
My Iphone and Ipad all show apple id as new email etc the problem only arises when I try updating.
Please help this is driving me insane and my updates are stuck!

When you say you "changed my apple id", does that mean you renamed it to your new email address?

That is what you want to do so you still only have one Apple ID and it now has the new name and email.
It sounds like you may have created a new Apple ID instead and started purchasing stuff with that. Just because an old email address expires, doesn't mean the Apple ID it is based on goes away. Apple IDs can't be deleted. The only way for them to change is to rename them to a new "ID" (name/email).
It is best to stay with only one Apple ID for purchases. As you are seeing, Apps need to be updated with the ID they were purchased with. If you don't have many purchases with your new Apple ID, you might want to rename it to something else so you can rename your old ID to this new name (email). Then stick with your old, but renamed ID.
You don't remember the password for your old Apple ID? Can you access your old Apple ID using the security questions instead of the email verification?

Reminders Notifications in Mountain Lion latest update keeps freezing on my homescreen and won't go away when trying to close. Please help.
I'm using a 2009 Macbook Pro and have installed the lastest update 10.8.1I've been seeing this for some time now and getting quite sick of it. It happens when I've been away at work for the day and come home to find frozen notifications.
You can fix this temporarily by quitting Notification Centre from Activity Monitor but it keeps happening to me every week or so. -
i have updated my itunes but when im restoring my iphone 5 phone it keeps coming up with 'unknown error occurred (3) please help as i cannot even turn my phone on now

If Join was on then your home wi-fi must be set to Non-Broadcast. If you did not set this up (maybe your provider did) then you will need to find the Network Name they used, and any password they used. The SSID is Security Set ID and to see more try http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SSID . Basically it is the name used to identify your router/network. A lot of times the installer will leave it set as LinkSys, or Broadcom or whatever the manufacturer set it as for default. Your best bet is to get whoever installed it to walk you through how they set it up, giving you id's and passwords so you can get in. HOWEVER, if you are not comfortable with this (if you set security wrong, etc.) you would be well ahead of the game to hire a local computer tech (networking) to get this working for you. You can also contact the vendor of your router and get help (if it is still in warranty), or at least get copies of the manuals as pdf files. Sorry I can't give you more help, I hope this gives you an idea where to go from here to find more.
