My 1st generation iPhone cannot connect to iTunes store
I have a 1st generation iPhone with iOS 2. When I open the App Store app I get a pop up message that says "cannot connect to iTunes Store". The iPhone is connected to wifi and loads pages perfectly. Please help!
I had a go at that.. and it comes up saying i dont even have any updates to download.. but i do on my iPhone. It's annoying. Even if i do download the apps on my computer and sync, how are my sisters supposed to update my app on their ipods/iphones?

What happens when you try to connect to the iTunes store? Error message?
What iOS is on the iPod? Settings>General>About>version
For apps you need at least iOS 2. The last update for the 1G is 3.1.3 that you get here:
Purchasing iOS 3.1 Software Update for iPod touch (1st generation)
However, there are not that many apps compatible with the 1G even with 3.1.3. -

I recently downloaded IOS 5.0 to my iPhone 3GS and have been unable to connect to the iTunes store since the upload. I've tried using both 3G and Wi-Fi networks, both of which have been confirmed to be functional on my phone (I can surf the web, access emails, etc.) and still continue to be unable to update any of the apps on my phone. I've also made sure to have the "cellular data" function "on" under settings and still have problems. Is there anything else I can do?

Turn the Phone Off... ( if it isn’t already )
Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
Wait for the Apple logo to Appear and then Disappear...
Usually takes about 15 - 20 Seconds... (But can take Longer...)
Release the Buttons...
Turn the Phone On...

Try this:
1. Close all apps in the Task Bar. Double-click the Home button and hold apps down for a second or two. Tap the minus sign to close app.
2. Hold the Sleep and Home button down until you see the Apple Logo. -

Well folks I finally got my "can't connect to iTunes" issues fixed. Seems that there was an unauthorized change to my email address and account therefore not allowing mr to connect to iTunes.
Here is how I got it fixed.
1. Contacted iTunes store support
2. Followed their instructions and replyed with the following info:
An order number from one of my purchases
Last 4 digits of the c.c. Used for the iTunes store acct
Answer to one of my security questions
And 2 items from this list.
Birthdate
Billing address for Acct
Phone number on acct
It was after all of this that they saw that someone had made an account modification back in February when the issue began. Seems they changed my email address just slightly and that is what kept me from being able to sign in and not a password issue. This was likely due to a phishing email that came out in conjunction with iCloud asking users to change their passwords to a more secure form by adding a capital and number.
To get all of this cleared up it took about 4 days as we emailed back and forth. I also needed a seperate email address they could use to send me info. Once they determined the issues and went to get them fixed by changing the email address associated with the acct and I created a new password I was able to access iTunes with no issues and even my previously thought lost acct balance was there.

I have done all the usual re boots on wifi and iPad, phone and so that is not the problem. I have 3 apps waiting to update bit they are stuck there, I cannot connect to iTunes Store and so you know I am not trying to connect to tunes! I am trying to update apps but cannot connect on either my iPad or iPhone. Changing the date does not work! Has anyone had this happen to them and if so how did you resolve it?
For those who are getting annoyed, I have found a solution which requires you to create a new apple ID without using credit card information:
1. Go the app store
2. Hit cancel when it asks you to sign in (If it doesn't, continue to step 3)
3. Find a free app and try to download it
4. you to sign in option will appear, it will ask you if you want to use existing ID or create a new apple id. SELECT CREATE NEW APPLE ID
5. Follow the steps and when it gets to the stage it asks you for your card info, Choose 'None'
6. Full in all you name and address etc... And click next.
7. Verify your email and Enjoy downloading FREE apps
8. Say thank you as I do appreciate your love :) -
I updated my iPhone 4s and cannot access Passbook. When I click on App Store, I get the following message: "cannot connect to iTunes Store." How do I correct this problem?
That's because there are not enough apps that use Passbook yet. Wait.

New Iphone 5 Cannot connect to Itunes Store
I have just got a new Iphone which is now just a week old. Since the beginning I haven't been able to download any apps due to an error message
"Cannot connect to Itunes Store". I have been able to connect to the Itunes and App store on the Iphone but as of yet have not been able to download any apps.
I really don't know what is wrong. I cant even sign in to my Apple Account in Settings as the same error message comes up.I'm having the same problem with both my iPhone 5 and my third-gen iPad. It started as an intermittent problem but today I cannot connect at all. I've tried the various "fixes" such as changing the date forward and back. iOS is up to date so that's not the issue either. I've shut off the devices and restarted. No change. This is enormously frustrating. I wanted to test an app for work but cannot get it, nor can I update existing apps. Did I mention how enormously frustrating this is??

Reset ( No Data will be Lost )
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons.

If no joy...
Reset all settings
Settings > General > Reset > Reset all Settings.
This will return all iDevice settings to factory defaults... you will not lose any data.... But you will have to re-enter all of the device settings. -
Trying to update my apps on the iPhone 3. When I type in user name and password, I get the message "Cannot connect to iTunes Store" How can I connect?

New iPhone 4S (iOS 5) displays "Cannot connect to iTunes Store" message when trying to download an app using wifi or cellular network.
It will install apps by connecting to computer and syncing with iTunes.
iPhone able to view App Store, iTunes Store, Apple ID site etc.
Another new iPhone in the same household can download from the iTunes Store via wifi.
Tried restarting iPhone, manually closing all apps, signing out of Store (in Settings).
Any other ideas on how to restore iTunes Store functionality?
