My 2 Cents on Griffin Iphone Cases

A few weeks ago I inquired about people's experience relating to the Griffin cases and I thank those who responded. Having shattered the screen on my first Iphone, a good case was a must. Having now received my case(s), I thought I would offer my two cents on my experience with the Wave case from Griffin Technology;
1) All of their products are made from polycarbonate. I am not what that is, but it feels good in the hand as it seems softer than the really hard plastic cases, but much harder than the "gel" cases. Not having great dexterity and having broken my original iphone, this was a pleasant and unexpected surprise. Equally important is that it tends not to slide as easily as the hard plastic cases because of the softer material. My old case had a habit of sliding off my console and on one occassion slid into an empty (thankfully) coffee cup. On the flip side, it is not difficult to take in and out of my pocket like the gel cases.
2) Screen Protection: As stated above, I typically keep my phone in my pocket and although I try to avoide it, inevitable it shares my pocket with keys, change, etc. The hard shell cases, and maybe all of their cases, come with a sceen protector. It is advertised with a rigid screen protector, but mine came with a full face static cling protector. While I expected the rigid screen protector, I am happy very happy with the static protector as I have heard from posts and whatnot that the rigid one is more susceptible to getting dirt underneath it. On the other hand, the rigid screen protector, presumably, offers more protection.
3) Price. I bought the case from the Griffin Technology web site because they had free shipping and you could receive a 20% discount with the coupon code "fireworks". I think this code ends July 31, 2008, but my final price for 2 cases was less than 30 dollars ( I bought the wave combo pack) and the shipping was free. I don't know how long the free shipping lasts or whether or not it is even still available, but between the discount and the free shipping, it was a good deal.
4) Customer Service: My first purchase I decided I did not want so I ocntacted them by email. Griffin's quick response was that they could not cancel the order becuase it had already shipped, but that I could simply refuse the package and receive a credit (ie. no cost to return). On my replacement purchase, I was missing a screen protector (because I bought a combo pack I should have received two). An email to support was once again quickly and graciously responded to with an offer to provide the missing screen protector. Often times I never get a response from companies via email. To get both responses quickly was a refreshing change. Lastly, for website purchases they offer a 30 day return on products if you are unsatisfied.
Lastly, the Iphone is an expensive toy. Buy a case regardless of the manufactur you choose. Depending on what surface you drop the phone and where it impacts the phone, it will shatter the GLASS screen. It coss me a few hundred bucks and a 50 mile one way drive to the Apple Store to replace.

It is a very impressive phone.
You might want to look at FILES or FILES LITE. I use it for pdf and excel files.
Also, Trapster is very good for directions. And police radar/redlight cameras.
