My 2 Cents On The iTrip For Nano

A google search on itrip antenna hack (or similar searches) results in finding this hack:

The end result is a very ugly and embarassing antenna that probably works.
I also read that just plugging in a mini-usb cable will act as an antenna even if it is not plugged into anything which is probably also true.
I am not about to add that hideous looking antenna hack onto my beautiful ipod and I tried plugging in a mini-usb cable which did nothing for me.
I recently purchased an iTrip Nano and was very dissapointed with it. I got over it quick because it was on sale for only $17.99.
Just by chance I tried something that made my itrips reception go from horrible to crystal clear. The really strange thing is that nowhere in my web searches, have I come across anyone else claiming to have done this.
My itrip has 3 available trasmitting options, US, Europe, & Japan. Just for a goof, I put it on Japan and tuned it to an unsed station 89.1 (i'm in Hartford, CT) and it comes in crystal clear with no static or buzzing, even at loud volume with heavy bass, CRYSTAL CLEAR!!! With the Japan option, you have a very limited amount of stations to choose from but I am in a big city with lots of stations and I still have 3 to choose from within those limited selections.
If you have given up on your iTrip nano and haven't tried this yet, please try it!!

It is a very impressive phone.
You might want to look at FILES or FILES LITE. I use it for pdf and excel files.
Also, Trapster is very good for directions. And police radar/redlight cameras.

Download the software for Nano??

I just can't figure out why in the world I have to go through all of this to get my nano set up? Isn't very user friendly. Not sure how people who know only a modest amount about computers are expected to understand downloading drivers etc. I think I might return mine. Why don't they come with an installation cd? My old RCA lyra even came with one! Anyone have advice for someone who isn't any good with computers?

All you need to do is go to http://www.apple.com/itunes to download iTunes. After the file downloads, all you need to do is open the file to launch the installer. iTunes then installs as any other Windows application would.
If you are unsure of how to install applications to your Windows computer, consult the computer's built-in help or see the documentation. Or, you could consider purchasing a Mac.

Can a Apple Center change the hard disk for me?

I have a mid-2011 Mac Mini that has been upgraded to 8GB of RAM. The thing is, I now want to change the hard drive to a WD Scorpio Black to yield faster loading speeds, but I don't want to mangle around inside the Mac Mini on my own after watching the DIY video. Furthermore, I don't trust Hitachi-brand drives.
Can I buy said hard disk, and then have an Apple Center do the upgrade for me?

The main reason I want to do this is because I want a faster drive really. Having upgraded to 8GB of RAM, I now notice that the main bottleneck on the Mac Mini is due to the drive being clocked at 5400rpm. The WD Black is a 7800rpm drive with more cache memory, which I expect should reduce the bottleneck quite considerably.

Cost Center based Release Strategy for PR's

At this time, we have PR release strategy with classification configured for over all release.
Created a new characteristic for cost center , assigned the values for the cost center characteristic, with zeros at the beiginnig.
Now when I create a PR with multiple line items and with multiple cost centers, the system is not deriving the release strategy defined. But if I create multiple line items with the same cost center, the system is able to find the right release strategy.
Does it have to be the same cost center in all the line items to trigger the right release strategy?

Looking at your question it seems you are using overall release strategy. If the characteristic value is not same for all line items then during overall release strategy determination, the system uses "BLANK" value for this characteristic.
In order for a release strategy to be found, when you have different
cost center in different PR items you need to add a blank value to your allowed characteristic value for the cost center in your release strategy. Also use Account Assignment Category (KNTTP) as one of your characteristics and define K as an entry, so that release is triggered only when it determines cost center blank with account assignment K.
But if for diff cost centers there is diff strategy then you better opt for Item level Release.

My iPod locks up after using it in the car with the iTrip

I recently upgraded my iTunes software and iPod software to the most recent versions available. Since then, my iPod will work in the car with the iTrip for only a short amount of time and then it starts scrolling through the playlist by itself without playing anything and then gets stuck in the on mode. I have reset the iPod as directed by the Apple website and it worked fine from my computer and in my Bose sound dock. Once I put it back in the car on the iTrip the same thing happened. I am wondering if since my software upgrades the iTrip is not longer compatible with my iPod. Please help! Thanks!

Will apple come out with an iTrip device made for the nano? I just spent 250 on it and I don't want to have to spend another 80 more for the monster cable!!!

If you specifically are referring to the iTrip, it's made by Griffin Technology; you'll have to ask them if they'll be releasing one for the nano.

The new nano is actually a little bit thinner so it should fit on, with out as much support for the actual adapter.

That's where I would begin, too, with
Repair Disk
Insert Installer disk and Restart, holding down the "C" key until grey Apple appears.
Go to Installer menu (Panther and earlier) or Utilities menu (Tiger) and launch Disk Utility.
Select your HDD (manufacturer ID) in the left panel.
Select First Aid in the Main panel.
(Check S.M.A.R.TStatus of HDD at the bottom of right panel, and report if it saysanything but Verified)
Click Repair Disk on the bottom right.
If DU reports disk does not need repairs quit DU and restart.
If DU reports errors Repair again and again until DU reports disk is repaired.
If DU reports errors it cannot repair you will need touse autility like TechTool Pro,Drive Geniusor DiskWarrior
First we need to determine if the issue you are experiencing with the computer is software or hardware based. Once we have gotten things sorted out there should be time enough to make you decision about keeping or returning it.

Open field for cost center on the material master

We have a unique requirement in a facility we intend to implement plant maintenance in to track a cost center to a material by including the cost center on the material master somewhere. Cost center is not a field on any of the material tabs we use for maintenance materials, but the requirement is just that it is tracked in a field, even if it's just an open field like a "user defined field" or another field not used often. We realize there are disadvantages such as the field not being checked against active cost centers, but we are looking at options short of adding cost center as a field manually to a tab (which I believe would require ABAP assistance). I don't think there are any other fields/tabs we are currently not utilizing but I could be wrong... The best option we can think of is adding it in a material characteristic so it shows on the classifications tab, but I thought I would see if anyone has any other ideas.

Not sure what is the need of cost center on material master when you want to implement Plant maintenance module. Do you have any specific requirement for this?
Ideally cost center will be derived from either functional location/ equipment (equivalent of material master) on to PM work order or notification.
Can you elaborate the requirement?
After all if you wish to go with cost center, then I suggest it should be at plant level as PM requires plant level distribution. You can add up a custom field and give the reference of cost center data element with help of developer.

I just read another post that says you can go into a game that allows for multiple players and utalizes game center and enter your account information that way. I haven't tried it yet, but it seems to work for others that had this issue.

Is there a trick to using the center of the click wheel on my ipod nano 5th generation?

I just bought a used (only 5 hrs playtime) from someone and I cannot get the center of the click wheel to pick up my touch very well...it takes forever to scroll thru and its frustrating! Is it normal for it to be that difficult to use or do I just need to get used to it?

It is not normal, there is something wrong with the click wheel.

Notification center crashes - the possible fix for me - remove Twitter.

I recently updated to a new Mac, and the only issue I was having intially was Notification Center hanging and crashing the computer when I slid it over.
I don't know if others were having this problem, or just me; most of the threads I had seen about the issue were dealing with older versions of OS X (Mountain Lion or Lion) When this hang occurred, the only way around it I had was to hard-reboot the computer, or use the "KillNotificationCenter.app" I downloaded from an older post in this forum. The computer basically became entirely unresponsive, and often the Notification Center was half slid out when this happened.
It appeared at first to be more frequently an issue if I started the Notification Center right after waking up, but that ended up not being the case.
After experimenting a bit, I think I've figured out the problem (for me, at least), after playing around with things a bit. I have not had a single Notification Center crash. There may be something else at play, so I can't confirm this, but for me, all the Notification Center crashes stopped after I removed Twitter from the Notification Center. This is the default, built in Twitter from OS X, not any Twitter applications. I have not tried any of those. It was not incredibly useful for me, since it only returned a minimal amount of information, and I don't in general receive a lot of DMs or mentions, etc.
I believe what originally drove me to try this was something I saw in the crash logs, but I can't find my notes. But I can say I haven't had any problems since doing this.
Again, maybe I'm the only one, but I thought I'd pass this along in case anyone else was still having problems with Notification Center crashing.

If you literally "checked" them, meaning the checkboxes, that only affects their visibility. To remove them, select one and then click on the "minus" part of the "plus minus" at lower left.

Is there a way to keep the notification center on the side bar for Yoshimite

I have a duo screen and it will be really convenient if the notification center is always there on the side for one of my screen. However, every time I click on something else, it disappears. Is there a way to permanently keep my notification on the side?

You can poke around yourself, but right off I do not see how this is possible in customizing the plist.
Finder>Go>Go to folder>
/System/Library/CoreServices/Notification Center.app
You can right click to open> Show Package Content.

Do I have to reconfigure something in Itunes to point to the correct address?

What version of iTunes are you using? The latest is 10.6.3. In iTunes, choose Help -> About iTunes to check the version number. If it's lower than 10.6.3, download the latest version from here.
