My 2 yr old banged on the keyboard of my 2011 MacBook Pro and now the desck top slides around and the application windows are off/center out of view - any thoughts?
The displays are all out of whack and when I open and use Apps, they slide around. Last night my 2 yr. old banged on the keyboard and obviously did something but I can't figure out how to restore the settings. The task bar and dock aren't able to be seen in the same screen anymore, I have to scroll down a bit to get toone of them.
This may be simple to fix.
Move your cursor all the way to the upper left, select > System Preferences > Personal > Universal Access > Seeing tab.
Turn "zoom" off.

I downloaded the new iphoto to my macbook pro. Now when I open it, there is a message telling me that "your photo library is damaged or unreadable and cannot be opened. Please restore from a backup." What do I do I had 16,000 pictures.....PLEASE HELP!!!!!
Try download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In Library Manager it's the FIle -> Rebuild command)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. -
I am trying to use the "App Store" on my Macbook Pro but it will not allow me to open the program. It automatically says, "App Store has closed unexpectedly." Whenever I tell it to reopen, the exact same messege pops up. My computer has all of the latest updates from Apple.
I tried deleting the program then running the software update to try to get the program again but it did not work. Where can I manual download the actual app store program, or fix the one that I have.

When you use the Lion restore as described, it does a fresh install on the hard drive that you can select at the beginning of the process. This provides a complete install of the very latest version of Lion, including the recovery partition. The drive that you choose for the installation destination winds up like what you would have on a brand new computer from Apple.

In the process of reformatting my macbook pro, I saved everything but my keyword list. The keywords are with the images, but the total list I use under "Keywords" is not present. Is there a way to re-create all my keywords I've used over the last 6 years.
I accomplished what I needed last night. I remembered I had picked my favorite images from each year and put them in a "favorite" folder by year. These folders included 500 to 1200 images per year. I pulled up the folder for each year and highlighted all images and clicked on "Keywords" and all keywords used for all images were listed. I made those keywords persistent. It took me a while to realize I had to click on each keyword to make it persistent. After doing this for all years, I assume 95% of all keywords I have used over the many years were back in my list. I'm sure there is probably a more "technical" way to accomplish what I needed, but this seems to have worked. I also exported my list into a word document and is saved on my hard drive.
If I had not made folders with my favorite images for each year, I could not have used this method, so if you figure out a better way, I like to hear it. Thanks for your comments and willingness to help. -

Yes, I do have it turned.
When I type the first few letters of the address, it shows the correct address. When I hit <enter>, the name appears in the address section twice. Only began to happen after the downloaded update.

Where can I find directions to replace the internal HD on a MacBook Pro (Intel Core 2 Duo, 08/08)? Considering the age does it matter ATA-300 or 150?

My iPad is on the same network as the Airport Extreme. The HP printer is on the list of Airprint printers but I'm not using it as a wireless printer, per se, as it's hooked up to the USB port on the Airport Extreme.
I installed the HP ePrint app on my iPad. Unfortunately, the app could not find the printer either.

Not necessarily. AirPrint uses a protocol separate from the communication protocol used for the Extreme's USB port. The HP printer may disable AirPrint when its USB port connected to a valid device, which is my reason for recommending you use it wirelessly.
From AirPrint Basics:
AirPrint printers connected using Bluetooth or shared through a USB port of a Mac, PC, AirPort Base Station, or Time Capsule are not supported.
AirPrint printers connected by Ethernet are supported in OS X.

HP's Mac support has always been miserable though. I have been much happier since I abandoned HP and started buying Brother printers. They just work. -
How do I clean the fans on my 2011 macbook pro 13inch
I have a early 2011 macbook pro 13 inch. It travels with me every where I go. I have had the computer almost three months now and have not had a problem with it. Some how, debris got in to the fans. I am thinking it some how got sucked in to one of the intake vents. I hear it (not often) ratteling when I move the computer or tilt it ECT. It sounds like somthing is blowing around in the fan. It is a scarry sound. At first I thought it was the hard disk. I know it is not the hard disk because I was listening to the computer when it was making the sound and it is comming from the back end of the computer, nowhere near where hard disk is located. My question is, How do I clean/ remove the debris? should I be concernd? other than that the computer runs normaly
Personally, I wouldn't touch them directly. Use a vaccum (don't use one of those compressed air cans) to vacuum out all the stuff/dust/hair/etc. Do not try to remove them. Do not try to shove a stick or something in it.

I downloaded the latest update on my MacBook Pro last week. Now I keep getting a pop-up that iCloud wants my password from an email login I haven't had in a year. I can't find where to delete that email login. iCloud is also showing my new email login, plus a bogus one I accidentally created trying to fix this problem. Now the calendar on my MacBook Pro won't sync with my iPhone5.
It sounds like you have the Find my iphone Activation lock for sure. Go to www.icloud.com/find and see if you put in that Apple ID that is coming up and yoru password to see if you are able to sign into the account that way to turn it off. If you are unable to, you will have to contact AppleCare by phone (chat cannot handle account lock outs or forgotten password due to not being able to verify your identity) and see if they can reset it. And are you sure the Apple ID that is coming up yours?

Why does the sound on my 2011 MacBook Pro keep dropping out?
Over the past couple of days the sound drops out on my 2011 MacBook Pro. It start about 30 minutes after I've switched on the computer and then keeps on happening every 3-4 seconds. What could be the problem?

Insect under the keyboard of my Retina Macbook Pro?

Yesterday I was working on my computer, when an insect (maybe a termite or a moth) fell from the roof onto the keyboard of my rMBP. I turned on the light and quickly searched for it but it was gone, so my guess is it could have gotten under the keys. Of course, now I'm worried it could damage my computer!
Could an insect get under the keyboard? Will it damage my mac? Should I do anything about this?

Move your cursor all the way to the upper left, select > System Preferences > Personal > Universal Access > Seeing tab.
Turn "zoom" off. -
How to you run the fan test for 2011 MacBook Pro?
My MacBook Pro seems to get too hot and I've been reading on the forums how people run tests on the fans and CPU temps, but I can't find where there's an option to do that? Any help would be great. Thanks.

Eyedropper doesn't work in Lion?
So, I was reading about how Lion has been causing a lot of trouble with Eyedropper (or Color Picker) tools in various Adobe applications, but has anyone else experienced the same problem with Final Cut Express? I went so far as to completely remove F
