Does anybody out there have any advice for? and also my computer is becoming a bit slow, and i thought macs cannot get viruses so is there any way to make it go faster.? thank you whoever is nice enough to respond.

Here it all is... Thank you very much.

I can start my iPod but it will only stay on the Apple icon screen for 5 minutes and then shuts off, what do I do to fix this problem?

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Phone will only stay on while plugged in

I have an iphone 4. It will only stay on while plugged in. While unplugged it shows nothing but a black screen.  It will not connect to wifi.  It won't even left me swipe the on/off switch.  Occassionaly it tells me that it is not connecting to the internet. (mostly on facebook but won't allow me on pintrest either).  Ideas?

i would say try to restore as new and then replace it

  • My iPhone will not charge and will only turn on when plugged into adapter.

I have tried to reset and nothing. It turns off if I unplug it and will only turn on when plugged in. The charge has not moved above 19% even though I let it charge for 3 hours while I was out. What do I do?

  • Im trying to erase all the data on my iPhone, it has been on the shutting down screen for about 10 minutes will it ever cut back on

After I clicked erase all data on my iPhone 4S it has been on the shutting down screen for over 10 minutes.. Will it ever cut back on?

Sounds like we have a similar problem.  Four days ago I was playing music through a wireless Bose speaker via bluetooth and everything was fine.  Then I was texting while listening and got 2 texts about the same time as I was typing one and my phone went black.  I pushed the home button and it worked, went into my texts and all were there.  However ever since then the time isn't right, so it can't keep time no matter what I do.  The bluetooth works only at times, the wifi keeps jumping on and off, sometimes my data won't work and the other day I couldn't even turn it off, so had to wait until it died.  The battery life display at that moment wasn't correct either.  Took to Verizon, they couldn't help.  Suggested a factory reset, which I did last night and still the same issues!  One day I couldn't even text my husband on his iPhone.  Just wouldn't work at all.  Did everything suggest and still not good.  Seems like after stalking these pages today a lot of people are having this problem in Dec/Jan and of course also I'm 3 weeks out of my 1 year warranty and so were many others, by days.  Very strange, and all on the 5C.  What did you do?  Is it working now?

  • I replaced battery and now will only turn on when plugged into a charger..

I replaced my batter on my iphone 3gs and then it will only turn on when i connect it to a power source.
After it has turned on you can take it off charge and it will stay on...
    Help please!! thanks

Either you got a bad battery, didn't install it correctly, did some other damage while installing, or haven't let it charge enough yet. There's really nothing we can do to help you with any of those scenarios.

  • MacBook 13" will only charge battery when on and open. why?

    Hello,
My white 13" Macbook, model number A1181, will only charge the battery when the computer is on and open. If i close the screen down, the light on the AC adapter will go off about 2 seconds later, and will stop charging the battery or giving any power to the computer. When i try to start up the computer without the battery in, it will not start up.
When I attach the AC adapter to the computer and it is not open, or not on, there is just a faint green light on the AC adapters LED light. About 1/4 the normal brightness.
Also, a few days ago, the computer would randomly shut down when it was plugged into the AC adapter to charge my battery. I was surfing the web and it shut down three separate times. All while the AC adapter was in. After i took the AC adapter out, it stopped randomly shutting down.
I went to a friends house who has the same mac laptop, and have swapped out his battery and his AC adapter with mine in every combination and everything operates in the same way: not able to turn my computer on with his adapter plugged in and the battery out and a 1/4 as bright green light when the AC adapter is plugged in and the computer is off or the screen is shut. My AC adapter functions perfectly with his computer, as does my battery, perfectly normal.
I thought it might have been the DC in board, so i replaced that myself with a part i ordered online, and it was not the DC-in board, same problems persist.
It seems it must be something on the logic board that has shorted out or broken that routes the power when the computer is without battery, shut, or shut down. and there must be a separate line going to the battery charger, which is why that aspect of the computer is still able to function. this means however that my only option to keep using the computer is to keep the battery relatively full and NEVER let it drain anywhere near low, as i would not be able to boot it back up again if it fully drained.
Is this problem indicative that the whole system is on the way out? or might i get a few more months out of this thing by just charging the battery while it is open, and while im working? Any idea what this problem might be? It is past even the 3 year extended apple care plan we had, so that is not an option.
Saw someone post something similar to this in another thread where the power information was requested. Here is mine:
    thanks for any help

You seem to have narrowed it down to a logic board issue. You can try resetting the SMC:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964?viewlocale=en_US
    And the PRAM:

But it sounds like either an expensive repair or a new Mac is in your future. Make sure you're keeping regular backups.

  • Mac will only stay on when hooked up to charger - HELP

As of last week, my MAC just shut down randomly. Once I plugged the charger in, it would turn back on, but the second I take it out of the charger, it shuts off again. For the past week, I've kept the charger in place; however, I can tell it's eroding my battery. It used to be at 100% and now it's down to 95%. Has anyone experienced this issue? Better yet, does anyone know how to resolve this?

As SV mentioned, we'll need more details on your battery before we can give you a good direction to head in. Regarding your comment +*"I can tell it's eroding my battery. It used to be at 100% and now it's down to 95%"*+, if you are talking about the information in the top left of your display that shows your remaining charge, what you are seeing is normal. The charger charges your battery up to 100% and it will allow the battery to drop down to about 95% before it starts charging it up again. This is done basically so the battery doesn't need to recharge constantly every time it dips below 100%. However, this doesn't mean that you may not have a problem with your battery. We'll need the info that Steve asked for.

  • My ipod nano 6th gen will only turn on when plugged into a power source.

My ipod nano 6th gen ONLY turns on when it is plugged into a power source. As soon as I unplug it, it turns off. I also tried to reset it and it did not help. Any suggestions?

    Howdy mela1223,
If I understand correctly your iPod will not stay on unless you have the charger plugged in even after resetting it. Normally this would indicate a hardware issue that would need a repair but to cover all the bases before that, the last troubleshooting that can be done for it would be to restore it with iTunes on a computer.
Restoring iPod to factory settings - Apple Support
    How to restore iPod
Verify that you have an active Internet connection, because you may need to download new versions of the iTunes and iPod Software.
Download and install the latest version of iTunes if necessary.
Open iTunes. Connect your iPod to your computer using the USB or FireWire cable that came with your iPod.
After a few moments, your iPod will appear in the Source panel in iTunes.
Select your iPod in the Source panel. You will see information about your iPod appear in the Summary tab of the main iTunes window.
    Click Restore.
If you are using a Mac, you will be asked to enter an administrator’s name and password.
A progress bar will appear on the computer screen, indicating that stage one of the restore process has begun. When this stage is done, iTunes will present one of two messages with instructions specific to the iPod model you are restoring.
Disconnect iPod and connect it to iPod Power Adapter (typically applies to older iPod models).
Leave iPod connected to computer to complete restore (typically applies newer iPod models).
During stage two of the restore process, the iPod displays an Apple logo as well as a progress bar at the bottom of the display. It is critical that the iPod remain connected to the computer or iPod power adapter during this stage.
Note: The progress bar may be difficult to see, because the backlight on the iPod display may be off.
After stage two of the restore process is complete, the iTunes Setup Assistant window will appear. It will ask you to name your iPod and choose your syncing preferences, as it did when you connected your iPod for the first time.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Take care,
    Sterling

  • Laptop will not charge even when plugged in, stuck at 95%

I have a brand new HP dv6t-7000 which just came in today and after a few hours of use it already has a problem with the battery. The battery refuses to charge even when the AC adapter is plugged into the PC. The tray icon states that the computer is "plugged in, not charging".
The laptop works plugged in without the battery and vice versa (though I am afraid of draining any more of the battery). I have tried the ACPI control method/fixed button uninstall solution, a bios update and every combination of shutting down, removing the battery and the AC adapter and nothing works. The HP support assistant tells me that the battery status is ok.
This was my first HP purchase in more than 8+ years and there's a problem straight out of the box and I'm getting pretty frustrated. Any help is appreciated.

Oh. It seems once the laptop goes below around 90% it will then start charging.

  • Ipod classic 160gb will only turn on when plugged in

i recently got a ipod classic from a friend of mine who has no use for it and i knew there was something wrong with it but its confusing. the ipod will turn on if plugged in but will go to chatging please wait screen and never charge. if you put ipod in disk mode you can restore it but it will just go back to "charging please wait" after its done. i have no way of getting a new battery nor do i think i need to. i have tried all the the options there are , oh and i also have yet to see an apple logo and it turns off if i unplug it.

Sounds like a dead battery.  You can have Apple replace it for a flat fee plus shipping and handling, or you can send it into a third party service center who can do the same job for a little less.
Google for third party repair centers.

  • Mid 2010 Macbook Pro will not stay off or asleep

    Hi,
I have a mid 2010 MacBook Pro will not stay turned off when I tell it to shut down.  It will shut down just fine, but a few seconds later it will boot up again.  This also happens when I try to close the lid (or just put it to sleep), it will work fine, screen/Apple logo on the back will turn off and the status LED will slowly pulse.  However a few seconds later, the LED stops pulsing and the Apple logo will illuminate.  If I open the lid I will be greeted with the log in page with zero delay (i.e. its been displaying for a while).
This has become problematic because the computer always be running.  If I put it in my laptop bag the computer will get hot as ****. The only way to get it to really turn off is to let the battery die or remove the battery.  But this computer does not have the externally removable battery so that is not a trivial process.
The symptoms exist in both Mac OS (Mountain Lion and Maveriks) and Windows 8/8.1.  This makes me believe its something in the hardware (or at least a setting in the hardware), not software (I know Apple doesn't care what Windows does, but it is exibiting identical behavior).
I have reset the NVRAM and the SMC with no luck.  When I reset the SMC I didn't get a good indication that anything happened though, and was wondering if that is normal.  Resetting the NVRAM results in another restart, while its hard to tell if you actually reset the SMC.  I reset the SMC by turning the computer off, then holding the power button when it tries to restart (this usually gives me a few minutes where the computer will actually stay off), then pressing shift, control, option and power at the same time and releasing them at the same time.  This is how the Apple documentation said to do it.  They did not mention how long the must be held though so I presume that doesn't matter.
    Anyone experience this/have any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Jim

My iPhone 5 will not turn on. And when it does, it will only stay on for a short while and then it dies again.

    Hi lammyrock,
I want to let you know to be patient as this troubleshooting can take some time depending on many different. First try putting your iPhone into recovery mode and then use iTunes to restore it. To do that, you can that by making sure that your iPhone is turned off, hold the Home button down while it is plugged into iTunes. You should get the graphic on your iPhone to plug it into iTunes and iTunes should prompt you to restore it. Once that is done and if you have a back up in iTunes or in iCloud, then you can put that back on after the restore is complete. Take a look at the article below for more information to help you.
