My 27" iMAC is less than 3 month old. Many times regardless of what application I am in the screen will start shifting back and forth left to right. Then I can't do anything until the screen stabilizes. This takes anywhere from 5 to 25 secs. Any ideas?

Reinstall OS X:
Reinstall OS X without erasing the drive
Do the following:
1. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
2. Reinstall Snow Leopard
If the drive is OK then quit DU and return to the installer. Proceed with reinstalling OS X. Note that the Snow Leopard installer will not erase your drive or disturb your files. After installing a fresh copy of OS X the installer will move your Home folder, third-party applications, support items, and network preferences into the newly installed system.
Download and install the Combo Updater for the version you prefer from support.apple.com/downloads/.
Reinstalling Lion Without Erasing the Drive
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. Screen will start to pixelate and error message appears to restart

I have a iMac G5 17". It will boot up, apple start up screen, Mac OS X screen, and then finally Desktop. but about 20 seconds the screen will start to pixelate and kinda "wig out" then it will tint a dark grey and a error message in multiple languages will appear saying " Push the power button to restart". at this moment the screen is completely frozen. all I can do it power it off.
What could this be? Maybe a bad hard drive? Screen? Power source?

Scan scan bar on the printer is continuously moving back and forth.

The printer is connected via USB to a computer using Vista and also used remotely by a MAC, IPad, and IPhones.
The scan bar on the printer is continuously moving back and forth, I ran the HP Print Scan Doctor and it found no problem.
I can print, copy, and scan but the motion of this piece on the device will not stop.
No change to the issue occurred when I turned the printer off, waited several hours, and turned it back on.

I noticed that the scan bar on your HP Officejet pro 6830 printer is continuously moving back and forth. I am happy to look into this scanning issue for you!
First, I would recommend a hard reset, by going to this post, How to perform a Hard Reset, by @Rich1. it is important that the printer's power cable is plugged directly into the wall outlet, and not a surge protector. Please, see this article, Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector for more information. This applies to Inkjet printers as well.
After the hard reset, I would go through this guide, The HP Printer Does Not Turn On or Respond When the Power Button is Pressed, and watch this video:
(Even though the guide title may not match your issue, I believe the solutions will help.)
The last step I would do is to also make sure your printer's firmware is up-to-date. Getting Printer Updates for HP Officejet 6810 and Officejet Pro 6830 e-All-in-One Printer Series.

I am trying to download 10.7 I press the button and it does nothing, I have just updated my iphone but I can't do anything until the itunes is updated

I'd first try downloading an installer from the Apple website using a different web browser:

I will be working on my computer and all of a sudden it says, "Not Responding" and then I can't do anything until it decides to work again.

I have my home computer on every day, and as I'm working or on eBay or whatever, all of a sudden nothing works. At the top line on the computer screen it says, "Mozilla Firefox (Not Responding). It happens several times a day. I cannot do anything while it says that. Sometimes, maybe about five or six times a week, I have to turn my computer off, sometimes by pulling the plug because I can't do it any other way, and then when I get back on line it usually works until the next time. When this happens, most of the time you can hear click, click, in the background like something is working but I have no idea what.
When I run my virus control, nothing shows up but cookies.

Could be your work banned your particular MAC address or some such. Maybe they ran an analysis on network usage and type of use and found you to be a large consumer on their network. IDK what type network you are on or business you work at. I know it's been done before to curtail employee efficiency. Otherwise, you may need to speak to the administrator of said network.

I have three PC's on my network all with exstensive music libaries on them, in the past I was able to click on any of them and listen to that selection. However in the last few months and or updates, now the libary will start to scan and then dissappear.

So what gives?? I have check all three to make sure settings are the same, once in a while it will allow the listings to show and play. But for the most part, NODDA, sad, I like my music and would like to have this rectafied.

Let's start with iTunes.
Have you updated iTunes to 11.1.5, because the previous version did appear to have an issue about seeing iPods?
With iTunes 11.1.5 installed, look in Edit/Preferences/Devices, (or use the ALT key, followed by the E key and then the F key) and make sure that the box named Prevent iPods, iPhones and iPads from syncing automatically does not have a tick in the box.
Once you have doen those two things, check to see if the iPod is seen by iTunes.

OS stands for Operating System. (In computer speak, IO means Input/Output.)
iOS originally stood for iPhone Operating System, but it now refers to the iPod Touch and iPhone. The iPod Classic, which you have listed in your profile as your iPod, does not use iOS.
I assume that you have been listening to the Podcast in your iTunes on the computer as you cannot transfer it to your iPod. It's what I'd do.

Quicktime X is a great little piece of software. However, Quicktime X is very finicky on which codec/file format it can decode/play.
Luckily, there are DOZENS of alternative video/media players and extensions available for the Mac. Some of them are even FREE. Some of the better FREE ones include...

I downloaded Yahoo toolbar and only thing that shows up in the browser is a Search window and Mail app (no Settings button so can't add apps to the toolb)--why?

I have uninstalled and re-installed toolbar and restarted browser AND pc & still have the problem. I also used my CCleaner and Registry Cleaner between uninstalling and re-installation. This problem happened after I upgraded to Firefox 36.0 Beta.

Hello again. I downgraded to version 35.0 and everything is back to normal and Yahoo toolbar is back as before.

Apple TV 2 - Does the display flip back and forth ?

The original Apple TV had an irritating feature whereby the on-screen image would flip back and forth every 30 sec or so. There was no way to disable this feature, and it ruined an otherwise good product (IMO).
Can anyone tell me if the ATV 2 also has this feature, and if it has, can it be disabled ?

I suspect modern LCD panels are better but I used to get awful image retention on an LG LCD.
It was worse than effects I get on my current plasmas.
Anyway, I agree the flipping artwork is pretty annoying - I usually just turn the TV off with AppleTV 1 and use the iPhone to control the audio. I've not tested AppleTV2 hooked up to the hi-fi but some suggest you can't get audio when TV is off as the loss of HDMI comms puts AppleTV2 to sleep.

Suddenly my entire screen now has little dots on it that flash back and forth between pink and blue. What's up?

I was online (on Facebook) when suddenly my coputer screen developed these little dots--uniform across it not just in a browser window--and they started flashing back and forth between blue and pink. The computer froze up and I had to reboot. It hasn't gone away and it's terribly annoying. What should I try to do?

It may be a problem with your video electronics - possibly heat related. Shutdown the PB & leave it overnight. Then startup & see if the dots appear.

Episode stops at one moment and the picture moves back and forth!

I have bought a series of 4 episodes. The first two were working just fine, but the 3rd one stops exactly at 5 minutes 30. in itunes, the picture starts moving back and forth and when i scroll to another point in the timeline, the image gets green or the episode is playing in high speed!? at about 10 minutes the video seems to start working again.
As far as i have seen, episode number 4 is working fine as well.
i installed the newest versions of itunes and quicktime but it didn't help
maybe something went wrong while downloading? if so, is there a possibility to redownload it somehow?

That's strange. Have you tested this with TextBox and a regular binding? Perhaps it's related to the TextChanged event firing to update the binding?

Why hasn't Apple solved the issue. For what I paid my computer, I expected more from the product than I have gotten. I was a PC person for years and most of my associates told me that I needed to get a mac...I am starting to regret having taken their advice.

Sorry you're having this problem.
A few years ago we had a similar issue on one of our machines, it was an early MacBook. Ended up being a cracked circuit connection on the motherboard. Changes in temperature caused the crack to expand and contract resulting in a shut-down followed by an automatic reboot. Sometimes over-and-over. I understood from AppleCare at the time that those symptoms could have also been any number of things including a intermittent issue with a powersupply.
If you take it back to the Apple Store at some point, I would ask them to have it run some CPU intensive tasks that closely resemble what you are doing when the screen goes black. It took us several try's to find the problem. Calling AppleCare each time to discuss it and troubleshoot before making the trips to the Apple Store really moved things along. In fact, it wasn't until the Apple Store had cracked the case from the inside that things kicked into a higher gear and AppleCare phone support sent out a pre-paid FedX package to send it to a refurbishing facility. Never a problem since and I know the people who have the machine today.
PS Can identify with the trip to the Apple Store, our closest one is in Knoxville, 2hrs from us.
