My 2nd Generation iTouch Wont Turn On, Even While Charged

My 2nd Generation iTouch repeatedly turns off and displays the apple logo when plugged in, then immediately shuts off moments later. I dont understand why its doing this, only started today after signs of no problems. I cant connect the itouch to itunes because it wont turn on fully, only displays the Apple logo for a moment then shuts off, then restarts it back at the apple logo. Help

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Connect to iTunes on the computer you usually Sync with and “ Check for Updates “...
If an Update Appears Install it... if not... you are up to date for your particular Device...

  • My itouch wont turn on after i completely restarted it

i did a complete restart which would erase all the content in my itouch,  but i think the itouch died during the hour long restart process and now my itouch wont turn on, all it does is show the apple logo.

    - After charging the iPod for half an hour, reset the iPod and connect it to your comoputer.  If it shows in iTunes, restore the iPod.
Reset iPod touch:  Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Next see if placing the iPod in recovery mode will make it visiable so you can restore the iPod.  For recovery mode see:

  • My iPhone 5 is charging but wont turn on even with the hard reset and restore. Keeps showing low battery. HELP PLEASE

My iPhone 5 shows it's charging but wont turn on even with the hard reset and restore. Just keeps showing low battery. HELP PLEASE
I usually sleep with my phone on charge through the night and I haven't had any problem since, I left my iphone 5 charging last night and in the morning it stated 100% charged so I decided to turn the power off normally (Hold the hold button till it says slide to turn power off) I turned it off and suddenly my iphone went straight to low battery. Although I have been having weird battery percentage changes for example it would stay on 1 % for an hour or so or drain really quickly.
I have restored it as i thought was the thing to do all it's doing it restoring and still stating low battery and I have charged it for hours +. I can't hard reset it nor restore it NEED HELP PLEASE.

  • Can I restore 1st generation data to 2nd generation iTouch?

My teens 1st gen iTouch was stolen but good thing is a recent sync and backup is on her Mac so we have everything. I just got her a 2nd generation iTouch and before I do anything I wanted to ask as I know I can easily mess this up.
When I hook it up for the first time and I assume it asks to restore or treat as new what should I do to ensure her purchased music and apps get put on her new iTouch?
Thanks for helping an old guy out here to look good to save his daughters iPod data. :O)

Thank you for the reply. I also found this: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1414
At the bottom of the article it has:
Restoring your new iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch from a previous backup
If you upgrade or otherwise replace your device with a newer device, you may be able to restore the previous backup to the new device. For upgrading from the original iPhone to iPhone 3G, see these instructions. You can upgrade one device with the backup from a different type of device; most settings will transfer to the new device.
Note: During the process of restoring your old backup to a new device, you may see the iTunes progress bar pause. If this occurs, please allow for additional time for the upgrade to complete.
I will try your suggestions and am sure all will be fine.

  • My Ipod touch 2nd generation won't turn on.

My Ipod touch 2nd generation won't turn on, except when I plug it in. When it's plugged in, it works fine, but when I unplug it, the screen turns black. The secont i plug it in again, it shows the apple logo as if i shut it down. When unplugged, it is unresponsive, i've tried everything with the home button and power button, doesn't move, it's just black. I've reset the Ipod, I know it is not a software issue. Sometimes it works, but as soon as i push the sleep button it doesn't turn back on till plugged back in. The battery's bad, but it can still last up to 30 minutes. I don't think it's worth buying a new battery, may as well buy an Ipod 5. (pretty cool)

  • Can i trade in my 2nd generation itouch for a refurbished ipod nano?

Can I trade in my 2nd generation itouch for a refurbished ipod nano and still get the 10% discount?

    Apple says:
Recycle your iPod at the Apple Retail Store.
Bring your old iPod to an Apple Retail Store and receive a 10 percent discount on the purchase of a new iPod.*
Note the word 'new" before iPod. I would say no but I would call/go to an Apple store and ask.

  • Help setting up 2nd generation  itouch

Just got a used 2nd generation itouch. When trying to set up itouch it says we need 10.1 itouch or newer.  I have downloaded the 10,3 put it still gives me the same message when trying to set it up.  Please help.

I am having the same sort of problems as you - and I have not been able to resolve my problems as yet. The document which was referred to earlier might be helpful, but I have not been able to get this to work, and Apple don't seem to offer any real Postfix support. I can get outgoing mail to work but incoming mail is always rejected for one reason or another (550 nu such mailbox is the usual problem).
