My 3.1ghz Com is so slow

May i know why my computer is so slow?
Do you think overclocking makes the computer slower? The CPU temp max at 45 only with the Zalman 7000. The CPU not using its full potential?
I m using the Raptor hardisk and kingston ddr400 ram

I got 512 mb ram and 128mb graphic card
U know wat!
I think its the mainboard fault. MSI is just very bad okay. I should spend the money on ABIT or ASUS which sell better mainboard man. MSI havent got their PAT worked out yet. MAT is bull  ( sorry )  dun talk to me about it.
A new bios is much appreciated. Or my next motherboard will not be MSI.

  • Compressed .mov to mpeg4 comes out in Slow Motion!

Using Compressor to bring down an 11GB Quicktime file to a couple of GB.  And it comes out in Slow motion!
The Quicktime A/V attributes are: Video encoded 1920x1080, PAL, 25fps, Pixel square, Field Dominance: Progressive, Audio:  48kHz/16bit
These are the Settings I used:
    Video:  Video enabled is selected
Allow job segmenting is selected.  Should it ?
    Frame Rate:  25fps
    Key Frame interval:  15  .  I tried 25 ?
    Bit rate:  medium VBR
    Audio:  Audio enabled is selected
Channels:  I had to choose Mono, because with Stereo 48000kHz was greyed out
    Sample rate:  48000kHz, quality High,
Bit Rate: 64kbps.  If I change the bit rate to 16, the Sample rate becomes 22000!
    Streaming:  I deselected Streaming.
What did I do wrong?  Is there an incompatibility somewhere between Quicktime and MPEG4?  How can it be remedied?  I would be most grateful for any suggestion.  Happy New Year!

Hello Russ, these are the 3 Inspector screenshots you requested:
    1)  Inspector for the Quicktime file to be compressed:
    2)  Inspector Summary 1
    3)  Inspector Summary 2
    4)  Inspector Encoder 1
    5)  Inspector Encoder 2
That's how I ended up with slow motion in the converted mp4 file.  What do you make of it?
Many thanks in advance for any light you could throw on this.

  • Compressing .mov to mp4 comes out in Slow Motion!

I have Compressor version 3.5.3 but I don't think that's what the problem is.  I'm trying to compress an 11GB Quicktime file down to a couple of GB.
    It's a PAL .mov file, 1920x1080, 25fps, 48000kHz/16.
These are the Settings I chose :
    Video: Encoder MPEG4, 1920x1080, 25fps,
Key Frame interval:  I change 15 to 25.  Is that wrong?
    Bit rate: medium VBR
Audio:  Mono because Stereo greyed out 48000kHz.
Bit rate 64kbps is what comes up with 48000kHz.  (When I changed it to 16bit it brought 22000kHz)
Frame Controls Option is off.  Is that correct?
The result was a clip in Slow Motion Video and Audio alike.
What did I do wrong?  Is there an incompatibility somewhere?  I'd be most grateful for any suggestion.  Thank you,

  • Folder list comes up rally slow

    Hi All,
We just copied the complete discoverer meta data from one DB instance to another to resolve some other issues. Things are working fine except when users are creating new report, the Folder list for any business area is taking long time to come up. Reports are running fine though.
I had read it some where that it might be because of old data in the qpp statistics table.
Would it help if we delete the data from the qpp statistics table or is there any other step which might help in solving this problem.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks.

I don't know that problem so would be interesting if you could find the thread on it.
Yes, the stats tables fill up and causes long 'query estimation' times, and the best method I've seen online is to actually drop and recreate the table (ie: not just run the script that comes with Disco).
However, I doubt that that would be the issue for displaying the list of folders when creating a report but again, if you have a thread, then copy it as it'll be something new I would never have guessed.
As for the actual problem you're describing, I have seen it at clients before and it's infuriating.
By any miracle were you looking via Desktop before and now with Plus (as Plus can just suck if not setup correctly compared with Desktop (ie: the Disco server))?

I'm curious on why Apple are slow on upgrading OpenGL on OS X?
Yosemite supports up to OpenGL 4.1 and OpenGL is up to 4.5 now?
Would be great if Apple could update OpenGL little more often, but I guess that is just wishful thinking on my part.

I'm running 10.10.3 and have this for OpenGL as reported int eh Software/Frameworks of the System Information.

  • TS4027 Slow disk error message in 2.2.1 - even with SSD

hi, I've been using Mainstage 2 since September 2011 and really enthousiastic on the concept. However, with version 2.1 I had a lot of bugs. The main bug was hanging notes and that is really frustrating when you are performing...
anyway, i now upgraded to 2.2 which seems to have solved this issue but now i have a different problem. regularly MS comes with a slow disk error which could be caused by underperforming disks or freefall motion sensor. Well, because of that I upgraded to SSD and spend almost 300 euro's to have this fixed. after replacement I had a extremely fast notebook and thought all issues were over but I still get the errors! when the errors ossurs some sounds get removed from the output which is annoying...
if anyone can help me with this?

Hi Drew if you haven't resolved this. TRy this to see if the issue is a TRANSIENT object access error instead for submitting directly to Compressor. Do this to isolate any content error defects before making you distribution (older 2 stage workflow)..
in FCPX 10.1, make sure the projects Primary Storyline is completely rendered - select all and cntl+R (render selection or control+shift+R)In FCPX 10.1 watch the background tasks (+9) and wait for all the rendering to be completed.... (make sure no object errors)
in FCPX 10.1 export a master File/Share/Master File (+E) as PRORES 4xx and save it ~/Movies/Drews_final_master.mov (prores)
    in Compressor.app V4.1,
    create a new BATCH ,
    import the MASTER object ~/Movies/Drews_final_master.mov)
(and add your setting and submit it. (dont use FCPX SEND TO COMPRESSOR just yet! until you resolve this issue)
This process will avoid the use of transient  file storage areas that seem to be used in the FCPX to COMPRESSOR.

  • Indesign CS6 Very slow - cross-references?

    Dear All,
I have been struggeling with this for over 2 days now..
I've treid the following solutions on the Adobe website
    http://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/kb/slow-performance-indesign-cs5.html
    and http://indesignsecrets.com/why-is-indesign-soooo-slow.php
It does not seem to work.
My document is around 40 pages, with some images (around 20), but it has a lot of cross references to a table in the same document.
I have untreaded a lot of information. Currently only 10 pages maximum is threaded.
My pc has 8 gb ram, 2.5 Ghz and around 40 GB free HD space.
I think it might be my cross references, but I don't know how to fix it..
I don't want it to be removed out of the table (because i need my references sorted on alhabatical order).
    Hope you guys can help
    Thanks,
    Daan

@Daan – I do not much with cross references, but several users here and in other forums report performance issues when working with cross references.
There is a 3rd party solution by DTP Tools:

You could test a trial version.
(And report back here how fast it is :-) )

  • Illustrator is slow when connected to intranet

The problem looks like that Illustrator sees that the computer is connected to a network and proceeds to try and access adobe.com.
This slows everything down because our intranet is not connected to the internet.
    Examples:
    Loading Illustrator CS5:
The splash screen is fast but once within the app you must wait at least 1 minute before you can do anything.
    F1 key or Help:
Illustrator CS5 attempts to connect to the online community which takes about 5 minutes then times out and brings up a local help file.
Now when the computer running Illustrator CS5 is disconnected from the intranet, everything works fine; The program and even the local help loads instantaneously.
I have tried editing the Helpcfg found here http://forums.adobe.com/message/3238181?tstart=0 but that didn't work (I need an example to see if I did things correctly).
Is there an easy way around this?
Exposing the computer to the internet is not an option nor is disconnecting the computer from the intranet.
    Any feedback would be appreciated.

I am having the exact same problem as Aaron. It's nuts...
As mentioned, internet is very slow download (0.7Mbps <- Not a typo) but a normal upload (3.0Mbps) when connected to the Airport Extreme by ethernet or wirelessly, but when I connect my computer straight to the modem, it's fast (12Mbps down, 3Mbps up). After I discovered this behavior, I took it to my friend's house (he also has Comcast) and I got the exact same behavior using his computers, modem, etc. I determined that my Airport was bad and took a trip to see the "geniuses" at the Apple Store. The AEBS worked perfectly there. Just to be safe, I took the AEBS to my work and it also works perfectly there.
Needless to say, I'm baffled. I've tried resetting all of my devices multiple times to no avail. I've tested to see if I have a DNS lookup issue (http://forums.macosxhints.com/showpost.php?p=199191&postcount=7), but that's not the case.
The results I've mentioned are from speedtest.net.
    Does anyone have an idea?

  • OS X Server 10.9 vhost and alias is very slow?

    Hi.
I'm using OS X Server with Mavericks.
I have configured vhosts at my provider to point to my IP, and I would like to use those to serve webpages and be able to access them remotely to show my work to customers.
What I have discovered is that requests to vhosts on my OS X Server other than the default site are extreemely slow. (30 seconds+)
So I figured I would use aliases instead under the default site and point them to my development directory. No success, i'm still looking at 30s+
    To sum it up.
    Example.
sandbox.somedomain.com (Server Website) serves content properly.
    Creating host1.somedomain.com is extreemely slow.
Creating sandbox.somedomain.com/alias on (Server Website) is extreemely slow.
I have tried to disable ipv6, created local DNS, edited /etc/hosts and so on.
If I do the same thing on my Windows PC, everything works and it's serving pages normally.
    Any ideas?

Many Open Directory problems can be resolved by taking the following steps. Test after each one, and back up all data before making any changes.
    1. The OD master must have a static IP address on the local network, not a dynamic address.
    2. You must have a working DNS service, and the master's hostname must match its fully-qualified domain name. To confirm, select the server by name in the sidebar of the Server application window, then select the Overview tab. Click the Edit button on the Host Name line. On the Accessing your Server sheet, Domain Name should be selected. On the Accessing your Server sheet, change the Host Name, if necessary. The server must have at least a three-level name (e.g. "server.yourdomain.com"), and the name must not be in the ".local" top-level domain, which is reserved for Bonjour.
    3. The primary DNS server used by the master must be 127.0.0.1 (that is, itself) unless you're using another server for internal DNS. The only DNS server set on the clients should be the internal one, which they should get from DHCP if applicable.
    4. Follow these instructions to rebuild the Kerberos configuration on the master.
    5. If you use authenticated binding, check the validity of the master's certificate. The common name must match the hostname and domain name. Deselecting and then reselecting the certificate in Server.app has been reported to have an effect in some cases.
    6. Unbind and then rebind the clients in the Users & Groups preference pane. Use the fully-qualified domain name of the master.
    7. Reboot the master and the clients.
    8. Don't log in to the server with a network user's account.
    9. Export all OD users, delete them, turn off OD, turn it back on, and import. Ensure that the UID's are in the 1001+ range.

  • InDesign 5.5 scrolling very slow on Macbook Pro

    Hi,
I am using InDesign CS 5.5 (7.5.3) on a Macbook Pro - 2.4 Ghz Intel Core i7 w/ 8GB Ram and a 250GB SSD and AMD Radeon HD 6770M graphic card - and it's incredibly slow when scrolling up and down in a document. Admittedly that document has lots of big tifs embedded but still it feels very slow and often hangs on the spinning wheel. I've tried a helper app to switch the graphic cards and have also turned preflight off and set live screen drawing to delayed after reading some threads on here. It's especially bad when I come from another application but doesn't seem to make a difference how many other apps are open. Is this normal? Does anyone have any ideas how to improve performance?
    Thanks
    Maak

What about the display perfomance ?
Go to View-->Diaply performance,  set it to Fast or Typical.

  • Mail is very slow

Maybe this has been addressed before and someone can point me to the thread, but here is my problem.
Downloading mail is VERY VERY slow (just about unusable). I have tried MANY options (IMAP,POP, Mac Mail, Entourage). I have tried different mail servers, I have contact my ISP (Qwest), open different port on firewall, network speed tests are fine. I am ready to give up.
When I try to download a email that has any decent size attachment, it seems to take forever, or just hang. Has any body experienced these issue. If so maybe you have found a solution. Any help would be GREAT.
    iMac 20" 2.4
    1 GB
    Mac OS X 10.5
Purchased with Tiger, install Leopard from included DVD (bought day after Leopard release)

This very serious issue has been addressed in a few other threads on this forum - but unfortunately with no resolution to date.
Being a dual-CCIE - I know how to and have certainly troubleshot all the possible network configurations issues that could be causing this - they are not the problem.
Mail is very unstable in Leopard - and all we can hope is that Apple developers are trolling these threads and recognize how critical to business this is - and post a OS update fixing these issues fast.
Until then .... sigh ... use Thunderbird I suppose?
Stinks because since switching from a PEECEE in June - I REALLY love Apple Mail.
If the developers are listening - one other thing I would love to see come to fruition in Mail pertains to creating rules or Smart Mailboxes: Currently you can do a Boolean AND or an OR between conditions in a given Ruleset - but it would be infinitely helpful to be able to create a set of conditions with a AND or an OR WITHIN the conditions, and then create a 2nd set of conditions with an AND or an OR within those conditions - but then BETWEEN the condition sets - do a Boolean AND or OR between them - so something like this:
    Smart Mailbox Ruleset:
If ANY of the following conditions are met:
Condition 1 = Subject contains "important"
Condition 2 = Subject contains "meeting"
Condition 3 = Entire Message contains "corporate"
    AND
Condition 1 = Message is in Mailbox "Personal"
Oh well - Hope the fix comes soon for slowness....

  • [Slow NAL startup] How to speed up?

We are a school with about 600 pc's running Windows XP + Novell Client
    4.91 sp2.
And one of the servers is running Netware 5.1 sp6, Zenworks for Desktops 4
    and Zenworks for servers 3.
We have 482 application objects in our tree.
The problem is that after login, Naldesk.exe takes a long time to load.
What is the best thing to do to speed things up?

The 1st thing I would look for are "Force_Run".
It is possible you could have items running in the background that are
    delaying the finishing of NAL.
One key here is "Wait on Force Run".
Disabling this setting on your Force Runs may allow NAL to finish loading
while the external processes are still running.
Also, How many "effective" apps are assigned to these users?
By this I mean directly or inherited.
A large number of these can slow down the logon process considerably while
the objects are read and system requirements are evaluated.
(Example - A User who has 400 effective apps even if only 40 show due to
failed system requirements will come up much slower than somebody who is
only assigned 60 with 80 failing due to system requirements.)
Also, on the packet trace suggested by Anders, check to lost packets and
retransmissions. This could be an indication of network problems somewhere
betweeen the server and workstation. I have seen this drastically effect
    the startup times.

  • Slow support site and Windows 8 drivers

    Gents,
What's going on ? Your support.lenovo.com site is slow like a snail.
It's impossible to download fresh drivers.
Can anyone explain, where can I find ALL drivers for T530 (2392-3RG) ?
    I need drivers for:
       Ricoh SDcard reader
Intel chipset (USB3.0 must be working!!!)
Windows 8 is RTM already !!! 2 months RTM !!!
    Where ALL drivers ???
We bought 30+ of these laptops last month.
We don't know what should we doing.
    Lenovo service is awful.
It seems we need to go with Dell ;(

    welcome to the community.
regarding support site speed, please see:

regarding drivers for your T530, please see:
    http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/research/hints-or-tips/detail.page?&DocID=HT073832
note that it may be slower to load at certain times of day as described above.
regarding Windows 8 drivers, i looked at another oem's driver support pages and Lenovo seems to have very similar numbers of drivers released. even though the OS has been RTM, full driver support provided by any vendor may not be available until the official retail release on Friday and the weeks following, especially for models not preloaded with Win8.
hope the links help you a bit.
