I had a similar problem, but it seems I've found the fix. I see you have an Acer as well, if it's a notebook I bet it'll work for you too. (I'm on a Acer Travelmate)
Check my post here and see if that helps.

Plug your iPod in and when it appears in iTunes, click on it from under Devices in the left hand pane.  This brings you to the Summary tab.  Locate and click on the Music tab.  What configurations do you have made from under this tab?  Is your iPod configured to sync those playlists?

Connect the iOS device to your computer and restore to factory settings/new iPod via iTunes (not from backup)  The iPod will be erased.

If your iPod Touch, iPhone, or iPad is Broken
Apple does not fix iDevices. Instead, they exchange yours for a refurbished or new replacement depending upon the age of your device and refurbished inventories. On rare occasions when there are no longer refurbished units for your older model, they may replace it with the next newer model.
ATTN: Beginning July 2013 Apple Stores are now equipped to do screen repairs/replacements in-house on iPhone 5s. In some cases while you wait. According to Apple this is the beginning of equipping Apple Stores with the resources needed to do most repairs for iPhones, iPads, and iPod Touches that would not require major replacements. Later in the year the services may be extended as Apple Stores become equipped and staffed with the proper repair expertise. So, if you need a screen repaired or a broken screen replaced or have your stuck Home button fixed, call your local Apple Store to see if they are now doing these in-house.

    - See:

    - Try another cable. Some 5G iPods were shipped with Lightning cable that were either initially defective or failed after short use.
    - Try another charging source
    - Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. The cable as well as the iPod, is covered by the warranty.

  • Purchased new iPod Touch and I want to give my older one to my daughter.

I just purchased a new iPod Touch and want to give my older version to my daughter. What should I do before giving it to her. I've deleted my mobileme account and left all the apps, but I'd like to leave on the Find My iPod feature on since she is traveling. Also how do you change the name of the iPod?

You can restore it and put the app back on if you like.
You change the name by clicking ( or double clicking) on it.

  • I have a new iPad, it seems to want me to connect to iTunes before I'm able to use it. Can you tel me how to proceed?

I have a new iPad and it seems to want me to connect to iTunes before I'm able to use it. No instructions otherwise. Just need to know how to proceed since there are no docs with it.

There were. Not much, but a single card which illustrated the iPad and labelled the buttons, and on the reverse gave instructions under the headings "set up, sync, and charge", and under the heading "Learn more" gave links to www.apple.com/iPad,  help.apple.com/iPad,  www.apple.com/support/iPad,  and www.apple.com/support/manuals/iPad.
But you wouldn't have noticed, as you were too excited at the time. Like everybody else.  ::sigh::

  • My new iPod Touch doesn't want to connect with iTunes.

Before, I had an iPod Nano from the second generation, so it was one of the first iPods on the market. Now I got an iPod Touch for my birthday, but when I plug him in on iTunes it says that there's something wrong with the software. I need to deinstall iTunes and that I have to install the latest version (64 bits). The thing is that I have the latest version. And I've deinstalled and installed iTunes at least 10 times now. I still get the same error.
Oh, and I have a laptop from Asus, so I work with Windows (64 bits).. Maybe that's important, I don't know.
I can't wait to finally put some music on my new iPod Touch, please help..
    Thanks!

    Hello 23GP,
    And welcome to Apple Discussions!
i have my itunes all set up for my old ipod which i would like to not use anymore -- do i have to uninstall itunes and then reinstall with new ipod? is there an easy way to do this?
No. Simply plug in the iPod, set it up to sync however you wish, and sync away. There are no additional steps to follow for adding or using a new iPod with your current iTunes library.
