My 3G ipod lost it's internet ability

My 3G ipod was connected to a desk top and had an issue that made me reboot my computer. After rebooting the computer, I turned the ipod on, it said to log in and it froze claiming unauthorized user. I brought the ipod to the original computer where it first loaded, it let me restore from previous saved files. After restore, the Internet connectively was not enabled. I read on apple to try the restore after clearing the saved hot spot settings, and that still didn't work. I have swiped the ipod and started new, that didn't work, and so far, have restored to previous saved files, with no luck. Is there a way to restore it with a down load that can be transferred to the ipod from Itunes?

iOS: Wi-Fi or Bluetooth settings grayed out or dim
One user reported that placing the iPod in the freezer fixed the problem. A trick that works frequently with iPhones:
Settings > AirPlane Mode ON, Do Not Disturb ON
Power down and wait 5-10 minutes
Power up
Settings > AirPlane Mode OFF, Do Not Disturb OFF
If not successful, an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is usually in order.

Does the iOS device connect to other networks? If yes that tends to indicate a problem with your network.
Does the iOS device see the network?
Any error messages?
Do other devices now connect?
Did the iOS device connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on your router

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem and it does not connect to any networks make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

My ipod lost all of my songs

my ipod lost all of the information for all the songs i had on my ipod... the songs are there because it is an 8g 4th generation ipod, but says it only has 4g of memory left... i had plugged it into my computer, but it wasn't registering, so i pulled it out, but after i had pulled it out it said it had registered... when i plugged it back in, my songs and playlists were gone... my memory still says it only has 4g left while if the songs were actually deleted, there would be 8g memory left... i don't want to reload all of my songs to my ipod... is there a way i can get my songs back without having to format my ipod and start over?

The only way to fix it is to restore your iPod to the original settings. Just get it going before you go to bed, and it'll be done in the morning.

CANNOT CONNECT iPhone/iPod touch to WIRELESS INTERNET wi-fi - (TTLS vs WEP)

Hi. I bought the iPod touch on the day it came out; took it home, it all worked fine.
At home i have a wireless router, and it supports the WEP format. so my iPod connects to the internet perfectly.
the day i took it to school was the day I got very disappointed at Apple.
My school, Concordia University, supports only the TTLS format, because it provides better security. But not the iPod touch, nor the iPhone support TTLS, they only work with WEP!
So naturally, i'm not able to connect to the internet using my iPod, and i found out everybody else who has an iPhone has the same problem.
what's even more surprising is that most of the hotspots (95% of them) downtown also work only with TTLS. apparently it's a newer technology. You can imagine how frustrated i was when i was unable to use my iPod touch for one of it's main functionalities.
So why doesn't the iPhone or the iPod touch support this ????
it's such a simple and necessary function, and yet they decided not to put it on ...
So I ask Apple to include TTLS support in the next iPod/iPhone software update.
And everybody else who owns an iPod touch / iPhone should also let Apple know of this serious lacking in their firmware.

Ya i have to admit, i'm very disappointed right now. I'm really close to getting n iPod Touch but because of this situation, their's no way in **** i'll be spending that money without it working at my university (Concordia).
This is not an admin problem at my university. They're using a protocol (like many others) to protect their users from crooks and such. Doesn't it make sense to think that the majority of iPod users, go to school? Of course it does. I don't get how this "authentication" was dropped easily like this.
Unfortunately, Montreal is infested with TTLS format (which the OP has already mentioned) and that blows at the fact that iPT doesn't support it.
All students are crying out to Apple right now because of this, Guys! Make it happen, please!

We want you to be able to fully enjoy your device still. Just to clarify, the setting you are referring to is it the voice-to-text or the text-to-speech capability? When you go into the Google serach or text messaging application is the Microphone for voice-to-text gone or is it just not working?

Connecting Ipod Touch to the internet

Hi,
I've been trying to connect my ipod touch to the internet. It picks up my router and connects but won't let me access the internet?
I've reset network settings, renewed license's.
Is there something else I can try?

This is the official apple fix for this problem over the phone!
1. unplug router and other device if you have it for 4 minutes, Not 1 minute not 10 seconds. 4 MINUTES. Then plug back in .
2. Settings, general , reset, reset network settings.
3. Will reboot on its own.
4. It will work , I have done everything there is to get this back on and it was as simple as unplugging it for 4 minutes unlike 1 minute and then doing the reset. When it works make sure to spread some info around about this fix like I have on this forum and youtube videos. Help people out. Thanks

Lost my windows internet and I can't download Adobe Reader

Hi .Acouple of days ago my computer was kinda draggin so I went to control panel and ran a recovery hoping that it help it.In the process of the recovery I lost my windows internet explorer and right now I'mrunning in the avg.Long story short I 'm working on this project for myself and in order to get to the good part I need to download Adobe Reader plugin ,the installing process goes through but at the end this comes up"install_reader11_en_mssa_aaa_aih(1)_2exe-ordinal not found" And this one pops out too"THE ORDINAL139 COULD NOT BE LOCATED IN THE DYNAMIC LINK LIBRAY" What do I have to do to get my windows internet explorer back and to download Adobe Reader???? For installing Reader, you may try downloading its full installer from
http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/
After downloading, restart your computer and run the installer before doing anything else.

Sorry you are having problems with lost bookmarks. I note you had problems last year [/questions/851481] and hopefully this time you will have been routinely making your own backups of bookmarks.

So two steps
# Immediately make a backup of your firefox profile <br/> (That ensures any auto bookmarks are preserved). IMPORTANT do this first, restoring bookmarks overwrites existing bookmarks. Put the restored files somewhere safe such as your Windows desktop.
# Did you create any bookmark backups, if so the linked article above explains how to restore those bookmarks
You may also be interested in using Firefox sync, if you have a second device,as it allows you to sync bookmarks on the other device; and they are effectively then backed up.

If an App in iTunes stipulates that the requirements for the App are XYZ and the product description states it gives you the functionality of ABC does this contitute a legal consumer right to have a license to those functions if the requirements are met?
As an iPod touch user, a case in hand states an app will work with my hardware (4th Gen) with my iOS (6.1) and no mention of Internet connectivity required (I have no wifi and it is not an iPhone) so I purchased it fully expecting it to then work.
However the app doesn't work at all without Internet connectivity and it does NOT state that anywhere.
This is a clear iTunes product description listing error and yet Apple are refusing to refund without any explanation other than "All sales are final". But, dear Apple, what about us iPod touch users without Internet, I questioned? And what about the product description, the lack of any mention at all of Internet connection being required all the time you want to use the app? No explanation was offered except "All sales are final", no refund, "All sales are final".
As a consumer, this does not seem at all legally right to me, it seems a violation of consumer rights to a working product as dscribed, as paid for; does anyone know how the 'Terms of Sale' and the blanket coverage of "All sales are final" relate to errors and discrepencies in the stated Requirements and Product Description?
