My 3GS exploded, literally. It cracked open on it's own might be because of the battery. I placed it in my bag pack & next morning when i took it back it was exploded. I gone through some of the blogs where they mention it is becuase of battery.
Can any 1 tell me what is the procedure to log it complain on Apple web becuase if it was happen when my sister kids were using it it may cause some hazards with them.

it's not an explotion it's a defect with the battery which makes it expand and breaking the case in the process but it's not an explotion and it is not so fast it can cause harm

  • I updated to itunes 10.6 but now it won't open as it says it stops working because of the Data Execution Prevention

I recently updated toitunes 10.6 but now it won't open as it says it stops working because of the Data Execution Prevention and i've followed the windows help and everything but still can't get it to work. i usually never have a problem when i update.

I had the same issue after my recent update of iTunes.  I didn't update Quicktime 'cuz I don't use it much (or at all).  On another thread discussing the same issue, I saw that the Quicktime installation can affect iTunes.  So I downloaded the latest Quicktime, installed, redooted - issue fixed (for now).

  • How do I close Apps on the Version 7? Previously I held down the App until a cross appeared and then I could shut it down. In the Version 7, Apps appear to remain once opened. I am wondering what that does to the battery?

How do I close Apps on iPhone 4 Version 7? Previous versions entailed holding down the App until a cross appeared then it could be closed.

Double-tap the home button and then swipe UP on the app preview window...not the icon but the preview window above the icon.

  • My iPad dosen't open, my screen is black even if I use the open/close buttun??what can I do

My iPad won't open, my screen is black even if I use the open/close reset botton???

Assuming that the battery isn't empty (and it can take up to 15 minutes of charging before it will respond), then have you tried a reset (not sure whether this is what you meant by a reset) ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds, after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • My old iPhone 3GS battery just burned and cracked open

This morning i found my old iPhone 3GS on the sofa with the battery burned and the case cracked open. I am happy that the sofa did not burn, too.
It wasn't connected to the charger. The battery was possibly empty. It lied there already for a while.
Do you know if there's a warranty plan is such extraordinarily cases? I know the phone's old. But it shouldn't start to burn on the sofa.

Apple's hotline robot first told me i had to pay 35 € in advance in order to tell them about the problem. I tried it anyway. The guy on the phone told me that in this case they'll talk to me without Apple Care. Unfortunately they only proposed a repair option for 160 €.
He couldn't tell me what would have happened when the phone had burned the sofa. Anyway i'll now will give my old iPhones to recycling and not display them in the shelf. Poor old first gen iPhone.

MY IPHONE 3GS START TO GET REALLY HOT, AND AFTER THAT ALMOST EXPLODE...ITS BROKEN NOW.... THE BATTERY GETS FAT... WHATS THE SOLUTION NOW???

Unfortunately it looks like your 3GS' battery has expanded so much that it cracked the whole case wide open. If you have AppleCare on your device then you're all set, just take it to your local Apple Store.
If not, then still take it to the store. Complain about the battery bursting, and make sure to tell them that it's for sure a defect (you'd think it's obvious, but sometimes you just need to drive the point in), and that it potentially could have been and still be a hazard.
Remind them that the phone has not been in any adverse conditions, extreme temperatures, or abused in any way but that you just merely used it normally. (I'm assuming that's the truth?)
If they're good about it they should replace the broken phone for you; but unfortunately there's little chance of repairing your current device.

    Hello candymerna,
At this point I would recommeng resetting the device if if will not turn on.
    Resetting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

Battery does not charge from the USB power adapter
Important: Only original iPhone can be charged from a FireWire-based power source. If iPhone is connected to a computer that's turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the battery may drain.
Verify that the outlet being used is working.
Try another USB power adapter if available.
If no other USB power adapter is available, try connecting to a high-power USB 2.0 port (not a keyboard). The computer must be turned on and not in sleep or standby mode.
Try another USB cable if available.

When iPhone is connected to PC, it shows in itunes but Autoplay does not open for me to copy photos. I tried the Control Panel, changing Autoplay settings but no use. I use a Windows Vista. Please help! All my little ones' pictures are on my iPhone 3GS.
I tried hard reset on my iPhone. I tried restarting laptop and iPhone. I tried a different laptop. I tried removing driver and reinstalling from Device Manager but did not find a driver other than "Apple Mobile Device USB Driver" under "Universal Serial Bus controllers" which I heard shouldn't be uninstalled.
    Anything I haven't tried?

Are you seeing your music listed in the iPod screen, or in Win explorer as in your earlier post?
I can see all the songs in my Edrive>al's Ipod> Ipod Control> Music folder.
A corrupted iPod database, will report zero music used, and have your music size reported as others, so you wont see the music in the iPod screen. Sorry, I thought there was some hope for you with iPodAccess, in recovery of the corrupted iPod database with your ratings.
You can try to borrow and  use the Mac Disk Utility ->First Aid ->Repair.
Of course, if your iPod Hardisk is in a bad state, from the Disk Diagnostic report, then all my suggestion are futile.

  • After i unlocked my iphone 3gs now safari won't open

After i unlocked my iphone 3gs now safari won't open. Could someone please help?

How did you unlock your iPhone? If you jailbroke it, that probably caused the problem with Safari.
If not, try restarting or restoring your iPhone.

I recently got my iphone 3GS fixed from a cracked screen, my phone wont take my passcode what do i do?

Is the iPhone recognizing your taps?
If it recognizes taps and is showing the disabled message, you'll have to restore the iPhone with the computer it was last synced with or restored as new from another computer.
If it doesn't recognize the taps, it sounds like you need to send it back in for service.

  • Why does my iPhone 3GS turn off when the battery charge is only as low as 70%?

After my iPhone 3Gs has been fully charged, whenever that charge drops to the 50% to 70% range, the phone turns off.  When I try to turn it on again, the Apple icon appears the first few times, followed only by a blank screen each time -- the home button does nothing.  Beyond those times, when I try to awaken it, I can see a faint design that includes a plug, a red battery and suggests it is out of charge.  This also happens if I depress the awake and home buttons concurrently.

Let me know if I should start a new discussion instead of opening a new topic here.
My wife's iPhone is the same vintage as mine 3Gs, but has never had the battery problem.  Its affliction instead is that it cannot detect WiFi networks unless it is quite close to the source.  Often, when my iPhone not only detects but shows a maximum cells connection with a network, hers cannot detect the network at all.  In contrast, her iPhone seems to detect ourcellular carrier just as well as mine does.
Is there any help for this affliction?

  • HT2101 My iPhone's 4 battery exploded. What do I do next? 1 year warranty period is over; however, this is a clear hardware issue which I didn't cause (didn't drop the phone, the battery just exploded while charging the phone)

I put my iphone to charge for about an hour. After an hour I found that the battery exploded. It literally exploded pushing the back cover off the whole thing. That is crazy... iphones explode?? what if this happened in my pocked and some nasty liquids going all over.
Please let me know what do I do next about it. 1 year warranty is gone but it is not my fault the thing exploded. Should be some kind of hardware issue. I found on the internet that this happens quite often.

I had the same thing happen to my iPhone but much less extreme. The back had popped away from the frame at the top, below the headphone jack. I tried to push it back but it would not stay. My first thought was that this was attributed to a bad/bloated battery. I took it in to my local Apple store where it was diagnosed as having a defective back. I brought up my bloated battery suspition with the Genious who instantly shrugged it off. The back was defective and that was it.
A new back was ordered and when it came in, I took the phone in for the back to be replaced. The new Genious went back to their service area with the phone, emerging a few minutes later stating that the back was not the issue...it was a bloated battery which had pushed the back off. They ended up replacing the phone under warranty.
Yours is very extreme since on mine, only one corner of the back was pushed away. I certainly hope you can get Apple to correct it without charge since this is clearly an issue with a bad battery and a dangerous one at that. Best of luck to you.
