my 3gs keeps coming up with cannot connect to itunes it asks me for my password i put it in it goes away but then 5-10 mins later it comes back with cannot connect to i tunes its the same for wi-fi or over mobile web some one help
Try this:
1. Go to Settings>General>Date and Time>Set Automatically>Off
2. Set the date ahead by a few months
3. You should then be able to connect to the store

I cannot open facebook in safari it is coming up with cannot connect to server. I can open all other websites though. I have reset cookies & history and hard reset a number of times. I can open other websites no problems.
Any help appreciated.You cleared cookies and data in Settings>Safari? Did you close Safari as well before you reset the iPad? Double tap the home button and drag the Safari thumbnail up to the top of the screen to close it.

I'm trying to connect to the app store to check for updates but when I go to the update tab I keep getting the message cannot connect to iTunes store. I am signed into iTunes in my settings so not sure what to do!
You should not get that message if you are simply trying to load the shuffle with songs from your iTunes library. If iTunes is trying to Update or Restore the shuffle, and you get that message, try the suggestions in this article

I was watching a movie on my Apple TV and suddenly it stopped. I noticed I was logged out. Then I tried logging in again and I keep getting a message "cannot connect to iTunes". I restarted the Apple TV three times and tried again each time. I am stuck Help please
There's an issue currently that a lot of us are experiencing in that we all get the error message "iTunes is currently unavailable; please try later"
It's an issue with Apple and we're awaiting an update re this
I've posted a topic in regards to this after having a long conversation with Apple support this morning and will be receiving a call from their tech team tomorrow to run through it further
As it stands iTunes cannot be accessed via ATV's and nor can it be streamed via AirPlay from iTunes to the ATV
However I can access all films/iCloud content via my Mac Mini with no issues! -

My ipod won't sync to my itunes. Keeps coming up with the error message 'itunes can not back up the ipod because a session could not be started with the ipod? it has been coming up with this message for the lst 2 weeks now. If you have 64bit Vista or Windows 7, look for the seperate download of iTunes for that further down the page.
Once installed, use the Apple Software Update under your Start Menu to fully update all Apple components.
Your content will remain on the drive in the Music > iTunes Folder, nothing is deleted.
You should be making backups of your content regularly, either through iTunes or via copying the iTunesFolder in your Music folder to a external drive.
Windows is notorious for having "other" issues that make it unstable, we as volunteers helping others can't always resolve those issues. -

Can't promise it will fix it, but I tried everything mentioned on other boards to no avail.
What finally worked was resetting my AppleID password so that it met the new password requirements. I suppose it's worth trying that. -
I am a fairly new apple user, just got the new ipad, as part of an evaluation program. I recently did an iOS update and now keep getting the error message:cannot connect to iTunes Store... I tried date changing - no good ... The only thing that worked was to change the DNS setting to 0.0.0.0 as described in another thread. This fix for a day and now still getting the same error message and DNS setting changes do nothing. I have tried the reset method several times to no avail. I'm beginning tho think the ipad wasn't a great idea.... Apple need to attend to this. Like many, I have already wasted too much time looking for a fix. I am part of an IT in education group that will soon be recommending a specific hardware and OS. Could result in the loss of thousands of ipad sales for apple ....
Anyhow... All or any suggestions are welcome :)Also, I've just learned that I can connect to download new apps, but cannot update any apps I've downloaded in the past. How might I go about connecting my reset apple ID with its history from before it was reset? I assume that is the biggest issue.

Can only update apps when I connect via PC, this was working up to about 2 weeks ago.
I have been out foreign since last time I updated apps via iPhone and wifi.Ahhhhhhh I am go glad I am not the only one having this problem!! It started 2 weeks ago when I changed my Apple ID because it used to be my college email address (which is about to expire because I graduated) and I had to change my ID to another email address. When I did that, the whole "Cannot connect to itunes store" issue started whenever I try to update my apps either on my iphone (Update All) OR on my PC in itunes.
I now have 21 apps that need updating. This is driving me nuts. I have literally tried everything. Finally the Apple support guy I had been emailing back and forth told me to make an appointment with a hotline but I am pretty sure that costs money.....?

As I've already mentioned, I can't connect to iTunes or the App Store, the same message appears every time: "Cannot connect to the iTunes Store". I downloaded a few apps before I connected my iPad Mini to my Computer. I started doing an update that was about 9 or 10 hours long, somewhere around that time, and I unplugged it about halfway through the update and since then I've not been able to get onto iTunes or the App Store. I checked to see if I could continue the update but when I looked on iTunes again, no updates appeared. On my iPod Touch 4th Generation, everything works absolutely fine and it is logged into the same Apple ID. I've tried resetting my Network Settings, logging into someone else's Apple ID, connecting to a different Wifi, changing the DNS settings to 8.8.8.8, rebooting my Computer and iPad and changing the HTTP Proxy to Auto. Is there anything else I could try or am I just overlooking something? I would really appreciate it if someone could help me out here, thanks!
Can you connect to a wifi source on the device? Enable wifi in settings on the device itself. If you don't have wifi at home, there may be a local hotspot you can use for this.
The reason this happens is carriers don't want people downloading huge files that would slow their network as well as eat up your data plan. -
I keep trying to sign into my itunes acc to download an app on my ipad. My id number works on my computer but will not on the ipad. It keeps saying it cannot connect to the itunes store. What could be the problem?

Here is an article I would recommend going through when experiencing issues connecting to the iTunes Store.
Troubleshoot issues on an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
If you haven't been able to connect to the iTunes Store:
Make sure your date, time, and time zone are correct in Settings > General > Date & Time.
Note: Time Zone may list another city in your time zone.
Make sure that your iOS software is up to date by tapping Settings > General > Software Update (iOS 5 or later) or connecting your iOS device to iTunes and clicking Check for Update on your device's Summary page.
Check and verify that you're in range of a Wi-Fi router or base station. If you're on a device with cellular service, make sure that cellular data is turned on from Settings > General > Cellular.
Note: If connected to cellular data, larger items may not download. You may need to connect to Wi-Fi to download apps, videos, and podcasts.
Make sure that you have an active Internet connection. You can check the user guide for your device for help with connecting to the Internet.
Make sure that other devices (portable computers, for example) are able to connect to the Wi-Fi network and access the Internet.
Try resetting (turning off and then on again) your Wi-Fi router.
If the issue persists, try troubleshooting your Wi-Fi networks and connections.

my phone has just suddenly stopped working today was fine this morning then suddenly showed a message saying needs activating and connect to i tunes . i connected it to itunes and nothing happened but phone started to work fine so i disconected it from the laptop it worked fine untill it went to lock then showed the same message again .please can anybody help as i am ready tear my hair out!
