My 3rd Nokia N95 from 02 Online is going back!

I SPOKE TOO SOON !!!!!!!!
My 3rd Nokia N95 from 02 online is going back!!
updated the firmware to version 11 from version 10
i thought everything was OK and then today it re-started itself 3 times yet again!!!
WHY DOES THIS KEEP HAPPENING NOKIA ???????
THIS IS JUST NOT ACCEPTABLE !!
i also had a BLAZING ROW with 02.....again!!
they asked me to choose another different handset, i dont want another handset!! i want an N95 that works!!
they said i had to send the phone back to them, i said "kiss my butt" in no certain terms!
i have got a 4th handset coming next Monday!!
FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!!
im up to here with all of this !!
anyone else on 02 online and had NO restarts at all?
the problem is you wont know it re-starts until you actually see it!
AAARRGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Im with O2 and have an E65.
My phone restarts (as did my previous N70 and 6680) when it's in a weak 3G signal area. They have all been fine in strong signal or no 3G signal areas.
Fortunately for me I'm not really bothered about 3G so I switched it off and not had a restart since.
It's about time nokia and O2 got together and looked into this issue.

  • HELP!! Nokia N95 restarting !! and more!!

    Okay
im now on my 3rd Nokia N95 from the 02 network
the first 2 handsets had high pitch whining noise and awful sliders which were wobbling on the right hand side, appaulling workmanship, i dont even know how they were allowed to leave the Nokia Factory like this!
maybe the workers were all drunk or something?
it isnt only me thats complained of these faults, check all the other forums about the N95!
anyway, my 3rd handset has been working ok
    (or so i thought)
everything was working fine, no wobbly slider, no whiny noise..
but about 3 - 4 times per day as of 3 days ago, the phone just restarts itself when its just sat there!!!
WHY DOES THIS KEEP HAPPENING ?
have i now got to sent this **bleep** handset back aswell?
i dont want to drive 20 miles to nearest Nokia Service Centre, WHY should i ????
i also left my house this morning at 5.30am to take a friend to the Airport, the phone was unplugged from the Charger with full battery life, i used sat nav to get there and back, its now 9.35am and i have 2 bars left on te battery life!!
truly appauling if you ask me
will new firmware sort the resarting and battery life?
or do i have to just give up on this handset and buy another model by another Manufacturer?
im at my wits end with these N95`s

I saw some build quality issues highlighted on a review: you'd think they'd at least check phones that were going to reviewers!

That's a typical problem for a newly released N-series. Unfortunately, this is only likely to be fixed by a firmware upgrade. Check you have the latest version. If you do: you're fresh out of luck .. for a while.

That's no surprise at all: when you use the GPS the phone is working all the time. It's kinda like you made a 4 hour (or however long the trips were) phone call. The surprise is that you have any battery left at all!
When I use my N80 for navigation, I usually have either the phone or the GPS receiver on charge virtually all the time.
It's probably no consolation right now, but most of us who bought phones soon after their release have gone through very similar teething problems and we know how hideously frustrating they are. The good news is that if you do hold out, the 2nd or 3rd firmware release normally fixes the worst of the problems and you do finally get that awesome phone you thought you'd bought.

  • Nokia N95 - im on 02 Network - need help from ALL ...

    Hi guys and gals
as you all know from my many many previous posts, i am now on my 3rd Nokia N95
i have had this one since the 4th of April this year
and still this phone is doing my head in!
it keeps restarting all the time, the clicky wobbly slider and high pitch noise were apparent in both of my first 2 handsets..
my Nokia Bluetooth headset (model: BH-900) takes 4-5 attempts before it actually stays connected! keeps disconnecting!
ok, can ANYONE tell me if im being over-sensitive, but on the keypad where the RED and GREEN buttons are, do ANY of you have a lot of wobbling and a lot of give on this itself or minor movement? or is it absolutely solid as a rock with no movement whatsoever?
it feels loose and tacky, trouble is im on an 18 month contract and i want this phone to last the duration!
i got through to the 02 Returns team and spoke with this really arrogant snotty stuck up **bleep** who said that i have to return the handset and be without my N95 for 5 days!
he was extremely sarcastic and just didnt care what i was saying
I said this was unacceptable! i made a formal complaint on his attitude
im on an 18 month contract paying £40+ a month!!!
one of the team leaders very kindly organised a straight doorstep swap after owning the 3rd handset for over 2 months now.
normally its no more than 28 days! so thats a result
i just wanted to know of any recent 02 online customers having the same problems i have had as stated above
or am i too expect my 4th replacement with wobbling sliders, high pitch noises, loose pads where the green and red buttons are?

Only had mine since Friday and not actually received/made any calls yet so can't comment on hissing etc. But the slider seems fine on mine - the area around the red/green buttons could be perceived to be wobbly but on mine that is just the whole of the top part (the bit which slides) moving slightly up and down because it is separate to the bottom part of the phone. The actual buttons are fine.
I daresay though, that going by my track record with all my equipment recently I shall have some problems to report/ask for advice on.

  • Nokia N95 connection error

    Hi Guys,
I would appreciate, if someone could help me with Nokia N95’s connection error problem. I have my Nokia n95 from orange. From last two weeks every time I try to make a call, I get an error saying ‘Connection error’. I tried upgrading my phone’s firmware from version 10 to version 11 but in vain.
I tried talking to Orange support staff but they turned out to be clueless.
    cheers...

I've had this randomly on my phone on O2 before. I didn't get it from O2 though.
I've read somewhere in the past this is a common occurrence with all symbian or n-series phones.
But i've been in the middle of a call on my N73 and it fades out and then flashes up "Connection Error" and my mate has had this quite frequently on his Orange N80.
    Hope this helps.

  • Help with my nokia n95 please.

    Hi all.
I am with 3g network, i had a free upgrade a few months ago, did not like the mobile they sent me ( nokia 6288 ).
So i bought a brand new nokia n95 from ebay, locked to vodafone network.
I had it unlocked saturday and put my 3g sim card in it.
The phone is working, but i could not send picture messages or brow,s the web.
I managed to sort those 2 probs out with the help of the nokia website, had to download 2 codes for my phone.
does anyone know how i can get my gps to work with the 3g network ?.
I did phone my network provider, and was told it will not work, becouse my n95 needs to be locked to the 3g network.
    Can anyone help me please.
    Regards
    Ken.

    Hi kenbo
Although "voice navigation" requires purchasing a license, GPS feature is not network dependent. You can however have a free "3 day trial"
Firstly if you are using v12.0.013 software on your N95 it is a lot quicker to obtain fix with A-GPS feature, although an active connection via WLAN or Network is needed.
Go outside away from buildings and tress with clear view of sky. Open slider and hold phone at 45degrees, don't cover "#" key as GPS antenna beneath it. Low cloud or rain will make satellite acquisition a lot longer.
If you go to Menu > Tools > GPS data > (searching for + calculating data) > Position > Options > Satellite status
This shows any number of satellites up to five - empty rectangle = not locked on - black filled rectangle = signal acquired; you need a minimum of 3 solid bars for lock-on and triangulation to work!
Depending upon which version of Nokia Maps is installed on your N95 you may either have satellite icon bottom right of your screen or satellite icon with three yellow or green lights.

  • Problems unlocking nokia n95

I want to unlock my nokia N95 from 3. They told me it will cost £15, which is fine. They took my IMEI number and then put me on hold for a few minutes before telling me they did not have a code available and someone would call me within 15 days. Are they for real? I'm cancelling my contract with them, are they just being awkward?

Firstly, BB5 phones can be unlocked by code as can ANY phone, unlockcodes.ie supplies codes.
I've personally unlocked my Nokia e51 (WHICH 'IS' A BB5 PHONE) using a code i got for them,
how do you thing the networks unlock your phone?? by code!!
so please dont speak unless you know what your talking about!
ANY PHONE CAN BE UNLOCKED BY CODE, trust me i know i work in the industry and does most of my friends and family.
Secondly, we have sent many customer to unlockcodes.ie and gsm solutions over the years to unlock thier phones and they were all happy with the service.
As the saying goes 'you cant keep all customers happy all of the time'
Our shop alone processes over 150 codes a month with unlockcodes.ie and the fact is that its a great service.
Lastly, the article you refer to was published in 2003, over 5 years ago, and i remember it well. the fact is that back then unlocking phones was a 'grey area', and because gsmsolutions was the first company to offically offer a mobile phone unlocking service they got a lot of problems. even though it was perfectly legal.
In fact, i talked to an employess from gsmsolutions a few years ago and they told me that the mirror newspaper actually printed a full quarter page advert a few weeks after the article for gsm solutions as way of saying sorry after the mirror found out that phone unlocking was pefrectly legal. the mirror should of done thier research.
gsmsolutions stood thier ground and and now ireland longest running unlocking company, and this is the reason why most networks use thier services and recommend them all the time as we do.

  • I need good advices for a Nokia N95 please...

I'm going to buy a Nokia N95 from a GSM Store near me and I wish to check first if the phone it's original. I know that there are some things I must check ( The star *, the seventh and eighth digit from IMEI, the size of the camera, if there is written Nseries on the back of the phone, under the Nokia logo) but anything else I don't know....so is there anything that I can check which is only, and only  for Nokia original phones....something that the replicas don't have? I'm asking this because I deeply want not to get hoaxed.
Thank you so much for your help,
    David

look carefully under the battery where it was make if its not Hungary or Finland it might be fake...
look at the menu and touch the landscape menu and there you can see if it works good or its a fake..I had an N95 and it was made in finland at everything was ok it was original but before i bought it I payed attention at battery, production country, camera settings and qualitty, the slide and the quality of screen..If its fake you can observe pixels on the screen faster then at the original phone...
I hope this would help you

  • I bought copy nokia n95 without intention like tha...

I purchased one nokia N95 from a seller on alibaba.com. I asked many times to confirm if it's original or not. They said it was % 100 original, "made in finland", had authentic IMEI etc. I wanted to buy more but (thanks to God) I just wanted one sample to check. They sent **bleep**py copy (even for a sample). Everything they said was lie!
They do not give any response to me anymore, no chance to communicate with them. And alibaba does not do something because they get paid for gold membership. They gave permisson to everyone to cheat if they pay for gold membership. They want me to sue about this issue but it's cost much and I do not think that I can reach them from my country. I'm just only a person.
I searched alibaba's forum and I'm shocked that there are many many buyers ripped by these Gold Suppliers(Cheaters)! I think Nokia Company should stop this thief because these sellers use their name and sell fake nokia products by telling they are "ORIGINAL". I lost money and I do not want someone else to lose.
These is the information of company:
    Website: http://www.2008-nike.com/
    Alibaba page: http://2008nike.en.alibaba.com/
Company Name: Chengxiang District Putian City Xinxing Trade Co., Ltd.
Registered Address: Beimo Denizen Committee,Longqiao Office, Chengxiang, Putian, Fujian, China Zip: 351100

Thats really sad to here inishmore. I've just seen the website and have noticed that there is no "Authenticated by VeriSign Trust Network" when trying to purchase something on the stupid **bleep** website. That means that the web page is not even encrypted and anyone can easily get your details.
Next time you try and order something on the internet just look out for that and even though it might be there, that also doesn't 100% qualify the website as safe. Always try and research more especially on sites you've never heard of.
thanks for the websites. I'm gonna black list them and let more people know about it.
They are selling a brand new N95 8GB for $350!!!!! lol **bleep**
    can't wait for n97 successor

    Hi,
I can sync the address book with my Nokia N95 but not ICal. Is there any possibility? Hajo from Munich

Remove the old and new plugins, delete the device in iSync, then re-install the new one. Finally setup the phone again from scratch via the Bluetooth Setup Assistant, accessed via the Bluetooth system preferences pane.

I guess you have POP/IMAP enabled on the GMail account, so if it still does not work, check the Access point and make sure it is the one that you use for the Incoming messages.
But if everything is OK with settings, you might want to check with the operator. The network might be blocking the ports/protocol. Anyway, most of the operators provide free SMTP server for their clients, so check with them...
