My 4355 officjet will not recognise a new black cartridge when inserted

Hey ,  Thanks for getting back to me regarding this issue.  Because the troubleshooting steps provided failed to resolve this black cartridge detection issue, a new black cartridge will need to be inserted in your product to verify if the cartridge you're currently using is defective or not. If a new black cartridge resolves your issue, then the current cartridge is defective. If the current cartridge is a Genuine HP Cartridge it will have a warranty date on it and will be entitled as per the cartridge warranty to a replacement through HP.  If a new cartridge fails to resolve this issue then the printer will need to be replaced.   Please respond to this post with the result of trying a new cartridge in the printer. Hey , Welcome to the HP Support Forums!I understand that your HP Officejet 4355 All-in-One Printer is prompting for the right cartridge to be installed, after you inserted new cartridges in your machine. I would like to assist you today with resolving this cartridge detection error. Thank you for including the troubleshooting steps that you have attempted prior to reaching out for support. At this time there is either a dirty cartridge contact in your machine that may be blocking your printer from detecting the new cartridge as installed. There is also a chance that the new cartridge is defective. Therefore, I am going to have you perform some standard cartridge troubleshooting steps below to isolate this issue and resolve this issue.   Step 1: Remove Cartridges:  NOTE:  If the product is off when you open the print cartridge door to access the print cartridges, the product will not release the cartridges for changing. You might damage the product if the print cartridges are not docked safely on the right side when you try to remove them. 1. Make sure the product is turned on. The On button is lit when the product is on. 2. Open the print cartridge door. The print carriage moves to the far right side of the product.  3. Wait until the print carriage is idle and silent, and then lightly press down on the right  print cartridge to release it. Please remove just the right (Black) cartridge. (1) Print cartridge slot for the tri-color print cartridge(2) Print cartridge slot for the black and photo print cartridges 4. Pull the print cartridge towards you out of its slot. - Source  Step 2: Check for Packaging on Cartridge: With the cartridge removed from the printer, we are now going to check the right (Black) cartridge for any remaining packaging that may be causing cartridge detection issues.  Make sure that the plastic tape is removed from the cartridge by using the pink pull tab.   (1) Copper-colored contacts(2) Plastic tape with pink pull tab (must be removed before installing)(3) Ink nozzles under tape NOTE:  Do not touch the copper-colored contacts or ink nozzles. Touching these parts can result in clogs, ink failure, and bad electrical connections.  Once the packaging has been confirmed as removed from the new cartridge, please proceed to the next step.  - Source   Step 3: Clean the Cartridge Contacts: Gather the Following Materials:  Dry foam rubber swabs, lint-free cloth, or any soft material that will not come apart or leave fibers. Tip: Coffee filters are lint-free and work well for cleaning print cartridges.  Distilled, filtered, or bottled water (tap water might contain contaminants that can damage the print cartridges). Caution: Do not use platen cleaners or alcohol to clean the print cartridge contacts. These can damage the print cartridge or the HP All-in-One.  Perform the Clean:  1. Inspect the print cartridge contacts for ink and debris buildup. 2. Dip a clean foam rubber swab or lint-free cloth into distilled water, and squeeze any excess water from it. 3. Hold the print cartridge by its sides. 4. Clean only the copper-colored contacts. Allow the print cartridges to dry for approximately ten minutes.   5. Leave the cartridge outside of the printer. 6. With the printer ON, disconnect the power cable from the rear of the printer 7. Examine the right cartridge slot inside of the printer. If you see debris or ink buildup please clean the cartridge slot. Allow the right slot to dry.  8. Plug the power cable back in. Your printer should start back up on its own.  Once the cartridge and slot have been cleaned, please proceed to the next step.  - Source   Step 4: Install Cartridge:  1. Slide the print cartridge forward into the empty slot. Then gently push on the upper part of the print cartridge forward until it clicks into the socket.  2. Close the print cartridge door.   Once your cartridge has been installed, please test printing to confirm that the cartridge detection issue has been resolved. Please respond to this post with the result of your troubleshooting.     I have a new 80gig iPod, and am trying to use it on my laptop through XP. I have already an older 3rd generation 20gig player which I have been using fine, but now I cannot get the new software/pc to recognise the new iPod.

  • Will not print b210 new black cartidge installed test run does not show black ink

    It will not print, I replaced the black ink cartidge and it says it is full now, but when I ran a report, it doesn't record any black ink and it will not print. We have tried three differnent black 564XL ink cartidges.

    lf you figure out what to do please share...We tried three different cartridges. It scans fine, but will not print.i I rebooted it several times too....what is the batch number on your cartridge?I'm wondering if it's just a bad baTch. We tried two different Staples stores, where did you get your cartridge?

  • Ovi suite will not recognise my new E7-00

    Can anyone help: I have a new E7-00 and a PC running Vista. When I install Ovi suite and conect the phone then Ovi always says that the phone is not in PC suite (or Ovi suite) mode, but it is. I can never get beyond this which means Ovi doesn't link with the phone, I can't sync, and the phone is basically only any use as a paper weight. Nokia helpline has acknowledged a problem with the USB drivers for the E7 but offered no solution. I've spent hours on this and am getting desperate, any suggestions? Cheers

    I am not sure whether this will solve your problem but you could try this once.
    1. Disconnect your phone from PC if connected.
    2 .Open Control Panel and go to ‘Programs and Features’
    3. From the list of available programs, choose ‘Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver’
    4. Click on the ‘Change’ button on top toolbar.
    5. In the setup dialog box that pops up next, choose ‘Repair’ and select ok. Wait for setup to complete.
    6. Restart the computer if prompted.
    7. Now connect your phone to the PC. Driver installation should complete and Ovi suite (hopefully) should detect your mobile properly now.

    I have just purchased an iTunes Gift Card with $30 credit. When I go to my iTunes and click 'redeem' it asks for my Gift Card Code. So I enter the code and it brings me to a new screen asking for the Gift Card Code, Serial Number and then my name and email address, when I click continue, it says that the gift card/serial number is invalid. How can this be when I am entering the correct details.

  • Video will not import onto sequence, only audio when inserted.

    I'm trying to import AVCHD video into a Premiere Pro project sequence. I was able to do this only seconds ago and when I came to just one clip, it wouldn't import. It is the same file (AVCHD) and I was just able to do it. Note that when I press insert, just the audio part will show up, but you can't hear anything. Also, I tried converting the video to MP4, however it still did the same thing. The video does play in the source monitor and when I scrub through it in the project bin. However, I now cannot import any of my other AVCHD files that worked only seconds ago. I am working with Premiere Pro CC.

    Do you have the folder structure intact?
    If yes, then please use the media browser window to import the AVCHD footages.
    Also try opening the same files in Premiere Pro CS6.
    Try trashing the preferences.
    For the Mac, press Shift+Option
    For the PC, press Shift+Alt
    Please try the steps & see if that helps.

    I have 4 iPods all utilizing iTunes on the same computer.  If you open iTunes and THEN connect the new nano, it should automatically recognize it.  Does it give you an error message?

  • Equium M50 will not recognise the LAN port - error: Network Cable unplugged

    I own a Toshiba Equium M50 and have problems with the Marvell Yukon 88E8036 PCI-E Fast Ethernet Controller.
    I used to connect via an 'ADDON' Modem/ADSL Switch and had no problems. I then replaced the ADDON with a 'NETGEAR' DG834G ADSL Modem/Router to gain the wireless port, and since then my machine will not recognise the LAN port. <error: Network Cable unplugged>.
    I know that the cables are OK as I used them with other laptops and had no trouble. I can also plug in a PCI card to connect without any problems. It looks to me as if the Marvell Yukon 88E8036 PCI-E Fast Ethernet Controller has a problem with the netgear Modem/Router.
    Anyone out there with a similar experience and some advice/suggestions?

    For me it doesnt show like a LAN card problem but your router is a problem.
    Check the device manager if the LAN card was properly recognized. If there are no yellow exclamation marks so everything is ok!
    You can try to delete the LAN card from the device manager and after new reboot install the LAN driver again.
    The issue has stared after installing or connecting the new Netgear modem router.
    Therefore I would recommend to checking firstly the settings or to update the firmware on this router.

  • I have attempted to upgrade os4 to os7. icloud has taken an old expiered email address for which i do not know the password. It will not recognise my current email and password with itunes.  Any help appreciated

    I have attempted to upgrade os4 to os7. At the end, it threw an error that i had to turn off "Find my iphone" on my phone, which seems to be impossible at that stage as i could not access beyond the upgrade screen.
    I thin chose to set up as new iphone, but icloud has taken an old expired email address for which i do not know the password. icloud will not recognise my current itunes email and password, so i now have os7 but am unable to restore from my itunes back up. 
    Desperately need help please... Any help appreciated

    If you don't know your password, don't know your security questions and don't have a rescue address or don't receive a reset email, you should contact AppleCare who will initially try to assist you with a reset email or if unsuccessful will pass you to the security team to reset your security questions for you.
    If you are in a region that doesn't have international telephone support try contacting Apple through iTunes Store Support.

    Does iTunes see the iPod?
    Was the iPod previous synced to another iTunes library/computer?
    Have you successfully synced from this iTunes library/computer before?
    If so have you done anything like update iTunes on the computer since it last successfully synced?
    Do the songs play in iTunes?          
    Does any media now sync to the iPod?
    Do you have the right boxes checked to sync?

    Try syncing using the manual method                
    Managing content manually on iPhone, iPad, and iPod
    If iTunes does not see the iPod:
    iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Mac OS X
    Or
    See
    iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
    - I would start with
    Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP
    or                     
    Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
    However, after your remove the Apple software components also remove the iCloud Control Panel via Windows Programs and Features app in the Window Control Panel. Then reinstall all the Apple software components
    - Then do the other actions of:
    iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
    paying special attention to item #5
    - New cable and different USB port
    - Run this and see if the results help with determine the cause
    iTunes for Windows: Device Sync Tests

    i have uninstalled all apple software and re installed itunes .
    i have checked my iphone at a retail store and it was found.
    i have the latest version of ie "ie9" and itunes "10.2.2.12".
    any ideas what to do ?

    I agree that it should not really run slow however I would really like to upgrade to Lion anyway and thought that doing it via the SSD route would be  good way to do it as the SSD should help speed things up once I sort out the underlying issue at present. I also wanted to try and load lion but still have Snow Leopard available on the original drive for the time being till I knew that eveything was working well using Lion but I'm not sure if this is possible and how to do to this.
    I have just clicked on 'Verify disk' on HD1 in the utility menu and there is a problem there. It is asking for me to start using another disk such as the mac installation disc but I am not sure where I have put this. Seeing as I have upgraded to SL would this now be the new installation disc and if so, do I just put the disc in the machine and restart?

    only a few hours old, had an older version of itunes and the ipad showed up in that, updated itunes in order to update the ipad and now it just wont connect to itunes, absolutely typical if u ask me, i was expecting some sort of a problem with apple and i got it....
    they just make everything so difficult and charge you a pile of money for the pleasure...so how am i supposed to update/sync my ipad now, my daughters worked fine as she had no older version of itunes on her pc, she downloaded the latest version and it just worked, i tried to update the ipad to ios5 and was told i had to update itunes first in order to do so, i had to use the 64 bit version and now itunes will not recognise my ipod or ipad, itunes is the only way we can transfer to our apple products and it is not working,, what a joke

    if it was that easy to sort then i wouldnt be on here asking for help, its the new version of itunes that is the problem
