One way to test is to Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, Test for problem in Safe Mode...
PS. Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive
Reboot, test again.
If it only does it in Regular Boot, then it could be some hardware problem like Video card, (Quartz is turned off in Safe Mode), or Airport in 10.4 & below, or 3rd party add-on, Check System Preferences>Accounts>Login Items window to see if it or something relevant is listed.
Check the System Preferences>Other Row, for 3rd party Pref Panes.
Also look in these if they exist, some are invisible...

Hi,
What is on my screen keeps jumping up and down, any thoughts, is this a problem with video card in Satellite A300?I have tried to install the display driver from the European website. During uninstallation I got a messgae to say failures occurred during uninstallation, and then during installation I got the message of Install package failure!
I have my external monitor now connected to laptop, but in personalising display settings, I cannot get my computer to recognise that I have two monitors now, as both keep coming up with number 1 (Multiple Monitors) on ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650, and they both have that degraded view, a bit like in safe mode.
So in checking of device manager under display adapters I have:
ATI Mobility Radeon HD3650
and under Sound, video and game controllers I have:
High Definition Audio Device
Realtek High Definition Audio
In this whole process I deleted a file that was previously here called
ATI HMD...
should I resinstall this?

alWhat worked for me, is going to the camera app, switch to video, turn on flash, and record. Let the phone record for about 10 minutes. (your phone will probably keep reseting itself) but that is okay, let it reset, and go back the the camera app and repeat. what you are supposed to do is let the phone sit there and wait for the back to feel sort of hot. stop recording at about 8 minutes and plug your phone into itunes, it should be charging, and once you do so you can then set your phone into DFU mode. This might not help you, or it will. I just fixed my iphone today, that had the same problem as you. so keep trying and it will come back to normal again! Cheers!

If the laptop is off, the battery can be charged. The laptop is operating normally on battery.
From the moment that the AC adapter is connected, the computer turns off.
When I use the computer without a battery but with the AC adapter, the computer shuts down. Test with another AC adapter, the computer turns off.
Could it be that the cable between the motherboard and the DC jack is causing the problem whether this is unlikely ?

Shut down is not always at the same point. In the beginning this happened from time to time and than more frequently. If i start up the computer now with the AC adapter connected than he doesn't start up completely. He shuts down and reboot or blocked.

Loading battery when computer is off = yes
Running applications only with battery = yes
With AC adapter connected = computer shut down and reboot
Without battery, only with AC adapter connected = shut down and reboot
With other AC adapter = shut down and reboot
If it is a problem of the motherboard is it not possible that it can be repaired rather than replaced by a new one?

Hi, as the title reads my year old mid 2010 Macbook pro keeps powering off and leaving the below error message.

It looks like your NVIDIA graphic is damaged. If you need your computer now, you can fix the computer downloading gfxCardStatus and selecting the option to use only the integrated graphic, so that kernel panic won't appear anymore. Note that you won't be able to use the NVIDIA graphic, so the graphic performance may be worse than with this graphic.
Of course, that's a temporary fix, because you should take the computer to an Apple Store as soon as possible to get the Mac repaired. As the NVIDIA graphic is not soldered, the repair won't be expensive -

Add both libraries to iPhoto Library Manager. Then select the events or albums that you want to copy from library A and drag them to library B in iPLM.

The camera on my iPhon 4s is not working correctly. It is colored all strange and the shutter keeps opening and closing trying to fix the problem but it cant. I have already reset my phone and turned it off and on again. How do I fix this??

1. Turn off iPad
2. Turn on computer and launch iTunes (make sure you have the latest version of iTune)
3. Plug USB cable into computer's USB port
4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port.
DO NOT RELEASE BUTTON until you see picture of iTunes and plug
5. Release Home button.
ON COMPUTER
6. iTunes has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTunes.
7. Select "Restore iPad"...

My ipod touch will not charge or register in itunes. It keeps turning off and then shows the apple logo. I have tried holding down the button and plugging it in. It will show the red battery for a second and then turn off? Any other suggestions?
I have checked for problems with the connections, but from what i can see with the naked eye, nothing appears abnormal. It is very strange, and very sudden. It just stopped in the middle of a charge. The apple store is my next step. I just wanted to see if anyone on here had some extremely eye-opening solution or check. thanks though!

Change all reports data source connection
I have numerous SQL reports that require their data source connection changed. Does anyone have code to change all reports that use a data source name of 'Data_Warehouse_Main' to a different shared connection. Thanks
