Sounds like a 'stuck' Shift key. You could try to take the key off and put it back on yourself (should be some info on that from ifixit) or just take it to your local Apple Store and have them fix it.

Yes. The phone will be back to default settings.
Once the phone is up and running you can try and restore your backup again.

Check USB connections
If there’s an issue with the USB port, cable, dock, or hub, or if the device becomes disconnected during restore, try troubleshooting the USB connection, then troubleshooting your security software.
Common errors: 13, 14, 1600-1629, 1643-1650, 2000-2009, 4000, 4005, 4013, 4014, 4016, “invalid response”, and being prompted to restore again after a restore completes.
To narrow down the issue, you can also change up your hardware:
Use another USB cable.
Plug your cable into a different USB port on your computer.
Try a different dock connector (or no dock).
Add (or remove) a USB hub between your device and computer.
Connect your computer directly to your Internet source, with no routers, hubs, or switches.
If you see your error after changing your USB connections, continue to the next section to troubleshoot your hardware.

It's in recovery mode. Plug it into your computer running iTunes and restore it.

Iphone 4 stuck in iTunes setup and will not proceed to next step.

I recently connected my new iphone 4 to my computer in an effort to sync it to itunes for the first time. It went through the setup steps and then got to one step asking if I would like to the 'Find my iPhone' service. The options are Not Now, Learn More, and Set up Find my iPhone. None of these links work when click and the screen will not go past this step. All i can do is eject the iphone. I have tried restarting itunes and my computer but everytime it detects my iphone it starts at the same Find my iPhone page and will not proceed. I have no clue what to do from here a was wondering what I can do? Thanks.

FORCE IPAD INTO RECOVERY MODE
1. Turn off iPad
2. Turn on computer and launch iTunes (make sure you have the latest version of iTune)
3. Plug USB cable into computer's USB port
4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port.
DO NOT RELEASE BUTTON until you see picture of iTunes and plug
5. Release Home button.
ON COMPUTER
6. iTunes has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTunes.
7. Select "Restore iPad"...
Note:
1. Data will be lost if you do not have backup
2. You must follow step 1 to step 4 VERY CLOSELY.
3. Repeat the process if necessary.

Since receiving a iOS software update (6.1.2) my iPad has frozen and only the iTunes icon and a usb cable show on screen. Try and turn off iPad/iPod and proceed to step 3 of Recovery Mode.
Recovery Mode
1. Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
3.While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears, release the Home button. iTunes should alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then click Restore to restore the device.
Note: Data will be lost. You may have to repeat the above many times.

IPhone 6 stuck on iTunes icon while doing iOS 8.1 update

Brand new iPhone 6 just set up out of the box - was working fine - then did iOS 8.1 update and the phone is now stuck on a black screen with the red iTunes icon in the centre, a graphic of a lightning cable coming up to the icon, and an arrow indicating the cable should be connected (to iTunes?). Connecting to a PC running iTunes does nothing.
Is there way to clear this?

I tried to update the iphone 4s the first time.
mine is an iphone 4 from AT&T with IOS 4.2.1
I was not using the latest itunes but not sure if that cause the problem.
I was meaning to update to IOS 5.1.1, itunes backup took about 30min, and it never made it to be updated.
in the end I believe I saw an error code 1602
now I got an iphone that cannot be detected by itunes nor my computer.
I have unistalled all apple software and now updated to latest Itunes already, I google previous post about similar issue and followed the instruction but nothing works.

my apple i phone 3 g was working fine no problems then it changed to giant letters and icons by itself, I was asleep when I got a text from my friend, everything was huge...........I couldnt use the keyboard it was too big for the screen, I tried to change the font setting but could barely see it but did see it was still in the mimimun size font. I tried turning it off and back on, tried rebooting and its fully charged. what happened and how do I fix this?

Iphone 4 stuck between apple logo and loading circle after trying to update to IOS5

Since trying to update to IOS5 and getting the errors that most people are getting i.e. an unexpected error occurred (3004), my Iphone is now stuck between the Apple logo and the loading circle and it just keeps cycling between those 2 screens. It is not even recognised by Itunes when I plug it in.....
Anyone else got this? Any advice to try and get my Iphone 4 out of this cycle?
