My 5s is stuck on one sound notification for mail.
My iPhone 5S will not let me change the sound settings for ring tone/text tone/new mail/etc. When I go to Settings--Sounds and make choices, they show on the screen, but the old/original sounds are still what the phone emits when in use. I did update to 8 (or whatever it's called) and things don't work like they used to. But these sound notifications are my basic problem. Any suggestions? Thanks, Ron
Try inserting and removing the headphone jack seven or eight times.

I have sound turned on under general> sounds. The volume is all the way up and I can hear it when i adjust it. However under notifications sound is not an option for mail or iMessage. Just badges and alerts. Both of which are on. I would really like to hear my notifications. Any suggestions.
1. Double-click the Home button and swipe Task Bar to the right
2. Check the volume and mute settings

My problem is that after upgrade to IOS 6.1.3 my iphone not sounds! dont have sounds notifications for whatssap, FB, mails and can't listen music and talk with skype without headphones or speakers! only have vibrator and sound for one coming call!! what can i do!???? Thanks a lot for help me!!!!
I have a nearly identical problem with my Ipad 3. Mine is the left channel. I've yet to find help, but have found a number of other posts on this and other forums discussing the issue. People have tried restore, reset etc. Also, cleaning the ports with compressed air or cotton swabs. It appears to be a software issue, but no one is sure.
Along with the original poster, I'd appreciate any help.
As far as the 'level 6' poster, if you're going to be rude, please don't bother. Hope it was just a bad day. -
Why can't I get sound notification for my email anymore?
I am no longer able to get sound notification for send or receive email nor can I get sound notification for incoming phone calls. What happened and is there a correction?
Before doing anything else, is your ringer switch in silent mode? I'd try toggling the switch a few times to make sure it's working. The phone should vibrate when you move the switch from on to silent. If it doesn't then the switch may be broken.
Next make sure the volume for notifications is not off. Check the Sound settings for this. Changing the volume there should also cause your (phone) ringtone to play. If it doesn't then there is something very wrong.
The only other thing I can suggest if the above doesn't help is doing a hard reset of the phone. Hold power and home buttons down until screen goes dark and Apple icon appears, then let go.
If that doesn't work, then the only other thing you can try is doing a Backup and then a Restore in iTunes. If that doesn't work, then there's a hardware problem. -

How can I set repeating sound notifications for voicemails received?
Is there a way to set a sound notification for voicemail received? Having to constantly pick up the phone to see if there is a VM message is
annoying. My old dumb phone had a repeating sound for VM messages received.
Can this also be done for calendar entries, as a reminder?
TIA,
ChrisNot sure what phone you have but you might check your Sound settings and see if there is a setting for that but if not you might Look in the Google Play Store for Apps that ring or Vibrate a notification for your Voice Mail..
Actually I found this you might give it a look: Click on the Link

How can I set a sound notification for SMS? Thanks!
For SMS, you are limited to the six default choices unless Apple changes that.
You can submit feedback to Apple: http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html. -

Lost sound notification for incoming facetime
I recently lost the incoming sound that notifies me of a FaceTime call. I have checked all settings and cannot find anything I have changed.
Hey there Mackenzie4.5,
It sounds like you are not getting the sound notification for your FaceTime calls that are coming in. I would check this setting in the Notifications section specifically to verify there is a sound setup to notify you:
About Notifications on iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch
Go to Settings > Notifications to verify that the app supports notifications. If notifications do not appear in the Notification Center, make sure that the Notification Center setting for the app is enabled.
Make sure you’re signed in to your Apple ID.
If you’ve recently installed an app or restored a backup, open the app to start getting notifications.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
Cheers,

Can I have push notifications for Mail, like on the iPhone?
Hello,
I was wondering if it's possible to enable push notifications for Mail on the Mac, basically like on the iPhone. I know that you can choose how often you want Mail to check your inbox, but this only works if Mail is open. Is there a feature that allows me to close the application, but still receive notifications when a new mail arrives?
ThanksAnon M wrote:

Not as yet, although
1. The installation of third party programs such as Growl may give you this option. I don't use it personally so have a look at it and similar but at your own risk
2. Wait for Mountain Lon (10.8) to be released later this year as they are advertising such things as notifications, more in line with the iOS interface of iPads and iPhones
http://www.apple.com/macosx/mountain-lion/
3. In the meantime, do some reading here on threads relating to Mail in Lion as it seems like you certainly having an issue with Mail that most people do not have.
Good Luck

hello,
My email is working fine on MAIL.
Only one hiccup; the sound notification, although selected as yes in the preferences, it doesn't sound whenver there's a new email; it only works 2 out of 10 times...
I've tried a different sound file as well and that has the same behaviour. Only sounds 2 out of 10 times or so when there's a new email.
Anyone knows why? or how I can fix it perhaps?
thanksHello Chris:
FWIW, I have the same intermittent +"no sound at times"+ issue. Rather than start trying to address the issue (and, perhaps, causing other problems)I have lazily ignored it. I am posting this so you know it happens elsewhere.

Sound Notifications for Missed Calls and Text Messages
Aside from the very small green light in the upper right corner (Bionic) - is there a way to get audio notifications for missed calls and texts? I'm missing a lot of calls and texts because I'm not checking the screen constantly. Thanks!
I am not sure about the Bionic phone specifically but I am pretty sure there should be notification sounds.
My phone, the Droid 2 global has ringtons, and notification sounds separately.
Have you tried looking in the sound settings? -

Notifications for Mail and Calendar don't work properly
I only receive the Notifications from Mail and Calendar,
when those applications are open and running.
(yes, I have Preferences set to Alerts (not banners),
all the following boxes are all checkmarked:
Show in Notification 5 Recent Items
Badge app icon
Play sound when receiving notifications).
I receive Notifications regarding other apps,
such as Reminders, just fine, even when Reminders is closed.
I usually have Mail and Calendar closed (not running)
therefore I miss virtually all Notifications from those programs.
If I have to have the programs (Mail and Calendar) open all the time,
what's the point of Notifications?
When Mail and Calendar are open and running,
they alert the user with their own alerts
(without need for Notifications).appleuser8000 wrote:

Mail
That is the expected behavior.
