My 6230i keypad jams

Hi guys,
i am having serious problems with the keypad of my 6230i,the keys 3,6,9 and # usually jam but work after some time,this time they have really jammed (two weeks now),i cant type messages or even load credit onto the damn phone.Guys what causes this and what can i do???

Has water been in contact with the phone? if not the repair centre wil be able to help

Droid X Multi Touch Keypad jamming

I'm having a problem with my keypad while in Google Talk, Text Messaging, and Gmail. When I try to type, the characters do not appear in the text window, and when I hit the space bar, the keypad resets. The messages are still there and able to be sent, but I can't see what I'm typing and I have to reopen the keypad after every other word. Rebooting doesn't help any longer, and I've tried wiping the cache and clearing the data in settings, to no avail. Any suggestions?

I've seen this issue several times over many threads, and we have a fix for the keyboard locking up. It's definitely software-related, and while we work on an MR release to fix it, you can prevent the keyboard from force closing by doing the following:
1) Go to settings> applications> manage applications> all> multi-touch keyboard> clear data> force close.
2) Go to settings> language & keyboard> disable next-word prediction.
I have a Droid X2 (pretty much the same software), and I experienced the same issues with the keyboard. Once I followed the above steps, my keyboard never locked up. This only works for the stock keyboard from what I see. If you have a Market keyboard, it's worth a shot, but I haven't tested one from the Market.
As far as the 3G dropping, we need to ensure that data settings are correct on the phone. First, go settings> battery & data manager> data saver> make sure it's unchecked> press back key once> data delivery> make sure all 3 boxes are checked. If all of these settings are correct, please reprogram your phone to the network dial *228 and choose option 1.
I realize that the above steps for 3G are some basic ones, but we want to cover all angles. If you've already done the 3G steps, you may be experiencing software-related issues that we are escalating to the manufacturer. There was also a new software update (details here) that helps with a slew of minor bugs.
If you have already tried everything that I have posted, please let me know. Also if you have already done a master reset, please indicate that as well.

KEYPAD LOCK ON 6230i

Can anyone tell me how to bypass my keypad security lock please?? I changed it today and cant remember what i changed it too!!!
I have tried entering the code wrong so many times, but it doesnt do anything!!! So can anyone tell me if there are any factory resets i can do to get by this please??

The only way I know to reset it (and the whole phone) is by having a Nokia service/repair center "flash" (the updating procedure) the phone with whatever is the latest phone software (firmware):

Using the Alphabets & + in keypad

When I make a international call on a BB or other phone, I end up typing "+ <countrycode> <number>"
How to use the "+" on the iPhone keypad?
Can the alphabets be used to dial using the name of the contact? Smart phones have the feature to select users with the keypad. Is my iPhone4 smart enough??
For selcting James I can go 5 2 6 3 7 and then all contacts line up that start with J A M etc etc..
I hope there is soem app which can help me do that..

Since the iPhone has a touchscreen locating contacts is different to a phone with a physical keyboard.
Go to the Contacts screen and slide your finger up and down the alphabet on the right side of the screen and all contacts starting with the specific letter you touch are shown.
You can also start typing the name in the Search bar at the top of the contacts list and the list will update live as you type.

Help 6230i telling me hands free connected but it ...

Hi Can anyone help my 6230i has the symbol showing that the handsfree is connected to the phone only it isn't. I've never even used it!!. This means i don't hear the phone ring and i have to put is on speaker to talk to someone. How do i sort this one out!!!

I think the pop-port is jammed.
Try to clean the pop-port slot.

MMC 1Gb card {for mobiles}(problem)...6230i

i have a problem regarding my new 1gb mmc. i filled it up to just 400MB and when i put it in the mobile and go to access the gallery or the music player...the mobile like jams{in the loading bar}...can anyone please tell me what can i do cause i am confused... please help me...

I've a 2GB reduced size Dual voltage MMC in my 6230i. Its currently almost half full and the only problems I've had is that it tends to lock up the phone if it has to access files quite often that are stored on the MMC i.e. ringtones, wall paper and screensavers (store them to the phone instead). Also I've stored quite a lot of *.3gp files on the MMC and if you play a few in a row approx 6 files and try to play another if will not play. Just switch the phone off and then back on again and it will start playing *.3gp files again.

Muting problem between 6230i and carkit CK-20W

I set up a new CK-20W carkit in my car, and I would like to use it with 6230i. The bluetooth connection works well for handsfree mode talking, but I can't use the phone as music player via car kit to hear in car stereo. The voice appear only in additional loudspeaker. The stereo cable is plugged properly between the car kit and the stereo head unit, and I set the car kit stereo mode.
The second problem with the car kit is the muting function. When the phone is connected via bluetooth to the car kit, the muting function is always works when the mobile makes any voice (for example keypad lock/unlock). This should be worked at incoming/outgoing calls only.
Has anybody some idea for these problems?

I have an explanation for both of your issues.
The 6230i has no A2DP implemented, you cannot hear the stereo sound over Bluetooth.
Anyway over pop-port this should work. The issue is an installation issue. You have installed a funny mix which is causing you headaches now :-)
It is better to decide either for mono or stereo mode. If you connect the stereo lines to you car radio and even additionally the speaker the carkit senses the speaker and you experience what you have.
I guess you want it all over the car radio. OK.
Disconnect the speaker, you don´t need it. Make sure the carkit powers down, the input device LED must switch off. The re-start CK-20W. Now the carkit does NOT sense the speaker and will guide all your audio to the stereo lines regardless if vioce (then in mono of course) or stereo.
The Mute problem is easier to solve. Go to your Profiles in the phone. For example, in your HANDSFREE Profile just disable all tones which you do not want to cause Mute signal. Then you can select as you like.

HP Laserjet 1010 paper jam issue

I know this is not specifically an Apple problem, but I have spent days searching for a solution elsewhere with no luck, so I was wondering if anyone here could help?
My HP LaserJet 1010 had some issues with printed pages not coming right through - they jammed right at the last minute when most of the page was out.
After carefully removing the sheet, the paper jam light is constantly flashing, despite there being no paper in sight. No amount of resetting, cleaning etc has any effect. Neither do the rollers move any more when it is switched on, as they are supposed to.
When I try to print, the driver program gives the error:
"Printer Error: The printer needs attention"
Any ideas for how to solve this would be much appreciated.

Chances are the printer has a small bit of paper that is still jammed in it. When paper jams always try to pull in the direction of the paper path! If it tears then remove the toner cartridge to see if you can see any bits of paper inside. I have the Laserjet 1012 which is a similar design, early in it's life I had a similar issue, after removing the toner cartridge and seeing all bits of paper were gone I still got an error. I then removed the top cover of the printer, located and removed the offending piece of paper, put it back together and now several thousands of pages later all is fine.
If that doesn't work then contact HP's support (they will reply to an email with 24 hours) or go the chat route. If you try to call because you are well out of warranty there will be charge.

Jammed lock button and cracked screen!!! HELP PLEASE!!!

About three months after I bought my Ipod touch it fell off of my bed and cracked the screen entirely. I took it to Apple store and they said they couldn't replace it because it had no damage to the board and that it would cost $100 so I said screw it I can still read the screen. NOW I recently realized my lock/power button is jammed out of no where! I tried wiggling it with my nails, tapping it on the counter, and everything I could think of. I still have my warranty for another month or two. Can I get it replaced without charge? or what do I do? Apple only exchanges the iPod for a refurbished one. Accidental damage like the broken screen voids the warranty on the entire iPod.

Use of iPhone 5s keypad switching between numbers and alphabets

Hi! I am using iPhone 5s. Whenever I speak on Interactive Voice Reponse (IVR) system , I am having a difficulty
to press alphabets in the Phone Keypad. For e.g. If I have to check flight status, the call centre asks me
to enter flight number which is alpha-numeric, like 6E 286. In the phone keypad the alphabets are
visible just below the number key--like under number "2" , alphabets "A B C" are visible; but I don't know
how to enter alphabets in between the numbers using the number in the keypad.
Can anyone guide me please?

A= 1 tap on the 2 key
B= 2 taps on the 2 key
C = 3 taps on the 3 key.
However, many IVR systes are smart enough to figure out what you mean even with one tap. It all depends.

Can I run my HP Laptop without battery if it cannot be removed (mechanism battery access jammed)

Hi. I have an HP Laptop from 2008. I had to replace the battery last year. Stupidly, I kept the Laptop plugged into A/C. The battery started losing power a week or so ago, losing 2-3 % daily. Today it is at 45%. Problem is-I cannot remove the battery-the mechanism allowing access to battery is now jammed. Is there anything I can do to preserve my Notebook? I should add I am somewhat new to technology (as of 2008) and middle-aged. Thanks in advance!

Yes you can, the risk is w/o battery when having main (AC) problem specially losing power suddenly data on HDD may be corrupted.

How to take Input from the callers telephone keypad into oracle database

My client requires to automate a registration task for his customers by telephone. The requirement is the Oracle database should take numeric input from the callers telephone keypad eg 1 or 2 or 3 and the oracle must store this input inside its database and do some required processing with such input and generate a unique numeric id (sequence) and send back this unique numeric ID to the caller who is on hold. Please Note. Is there any electronic device to be installed at the client site to solve the above task eg. any telephone line to be connected to the CPU and etc?
I completely have zero knowledge. Please can you outline/summarise the instructions how to construct and install to meet my client requirement.
If this is not possible in Oracle I Can migrate to any database. Please suggest.

You need to start with your telephone system. Normally this situation would involve some sort of PBX or other internal switching equipment. Talk to your vendor. There's likely to be software, etc. available to perform the interaction with the end user.
It should have programmable "hooks" to interface with various databases. To Oracle it just looks like another program.

Hello , i am using james 2.2.0 installed on a server with a online DNS , it recives mails properly , but when i try to send emails ( also when using Authenticated SMTP) , mail go to junk mails ( as hotmail and yahoo) , When i use Outlook express outside the server to send mail i get the following error :

you have to change the config.xml to allow the server accept relay mails from your host machine from which you are sendign the mail ...
ie
change

add few more ips (your network / subnet ip)
so that it accpets mails from that machine to be relayed ...
you can also change the smtp autheriZation part and do that ...
any one is enough ..
