My 9630's back light will not turn off, am I doing something wrong?

I have had my Blackberry Tour 9630 through Verizon for a week or so now, and the back light will never dim out. It just stays on all the time. It will dim slightly when the environment is darker like it should but it won't ever black all the way out. My battery is barely lasting an entire night. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Please stop me if this seems all to basic...   In Options / Screen/Keyboard set backlight to a respectably low value (I have mine at 20 and it's still plenty bright). Then under it set the Timeout to 1 Min or 90 Sec.  I have Auto Dim set to No.  My battery lasts two days with these settings with moderate data usage.

My computer downloaded a bunch of system updates last night, and now the mte light will not turn off.  It still functions properly (turning sound on/off), but the light stays on regardless.  I either have windows 8 or 8.1 not sure what's the difference.

I suggest using Windows system restore to roll back the updates, one at a a time to find the  one that caused it.

  • My green webcam light will not turn off, when I go into photo booth, it says my webcam isn't connected

My webcam light will not turn off. It's been on for days, even when I restart and shut down my computer. It also will not allow me to use the webcam, it says that it is not connected.

I have a similar problem. The caps lock light stays lit. If I accidentally hit it, I won't be able to type anything for a few seconds, like the keyboard is frozen.
Strangely it doesn't seem to cause me to type in all caps. The light's on, but it doesn't cap lock.
Also strange is that this started happening recently, after upgrading to 10.5.7.
Any answers welcome - thanks. I think these may be related issues.

  • My camera light will not turn off

My camera light will not turn off.  How do I get it to turn off?

    1. Try a Restart by pressing the sleep/lock button until you see the slider.  Slide to power off.  Restart by pressing the sleep/lock button until you see the Apple logo.
    2. Try a Reset by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.

Light will not turn off after new cyano cartridge installed

I suspect that the ones that say they will work with Windows 8 on the box.  If it does not say that, check the maunfacturer's website.  They eventually will have to give Windows 8 support for the new cards or loose out to the competitors cards.

  • HT201401 My camera light will not turn off

The camera light on my iPhone will not turn off. I have even turned the phone off and the light stays on. Has anyone else had this problem? Any suggestions

Basics from the manual are restart, reset, restore.

  • Green light will not turn off

My green light will not go off, it stays green from the moment the power button is pushed. Any ideas? Camera is not working in any utilities apps. I have conducted a force shutdown of everything, and all is up to date.

This procedure may show which program is using the camera. It makes no changes, and therefore will not, in itself, solve your problem. It will only work while the green LED is on.
Please triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    sudo lsof -Fc +D /L*/Cor*/*/*/AppleCamera.plugin | sed '2!d;s/^.//' | pbcopy
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window by pressing the key combination command-V. I've tested these instructions only with the Safari web browser. If you use another browser, you may have to press the return key after pasting. You'll be prompted for your login password. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before you can run the command. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. Confirm. You don't need to post the warning.
If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator. Log in as one and start over.
Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign ($) to appear below what you entered.
The output of the command will be automatically copied to the Clipboard. If the command produced no output, the Clipboard will be empty. Paste into a reply to this message.
The Terminal window doesn't show the output. Please don't copy anything from there.

  • Iphone light will not turn off

the light on my iphone 4s turned on and will not tirn off. I tried resetting, turning flash on and off in camera mode to no avail.

  • Flash light will not turn off

My Ip hone 4s flash light is on and willl not turn off. Battery is dead, Light is still on. Phone did not get wet. Does any one have suggestions?I am not due for a new phone!!! help!!!

If axeman1020 post does not work this issue has happened alot. The best thing to do is backup your phone and restore it. This will tell weather its a software or hardware issue. If problem still remains then i would look into getting it repaired through an apple store or apple support.

  • HT201401 the camera light will not turn off in the back?

how do i get the camera light to turn off in the back?

Basics from the manual are restart, reset, restore.

  • IPhone 4S light will not turn off.

I Have reset phone and light remains on?

I had the same problem on my iphone 4 having the light on , changing intensity on its own, with the phone on or off. I noticed that by applying pressure on the back or the metallic sides of the phone, the light would flicker or change intensity and even switch off for brief instants.
I took it to a phone store (not apple) and they changed the motherboard returning me a phone with the light off. Not for long though as it started flickering again after only a week of use. Yesterday, less than 2 months after the repair, the light was steadily on again.
I took it down to another phone store this morning which I had used before on a galaxy S3, and he fixed it in 2 minutes!.
Maybe because of a manufacturing defect, the camera lens and attached flash light are not steadily clipsed to the body causing bad contact. By pressing it back into place, the light has now switched off, but for how long? If it reoccurs, he suggested to replace the camera lens which may not be as expensive as a motherboard which wasn't defective in the first place.
    Hope this helps,
    Cheers,
    Albert

I have seen some updates that correct problems with the status of some HP printers.  If this applies to your problem you should find an update to correct it.  On this page select your operating system and select Next. You can review all of the updates for your printer and see if you think any might resolve the issue.
