My about:config changes for zoom won't take

Changing the following:
toolkit.zoomManager.zoomValues
from
0.3,0.5,0.67,0.8,0.9,1,1.1,1.2,1.33,1.5,1.7,2,2.4,3
to
0.3,0.5,0.67,0.8,0.9,1,1.1,1.2,1.33,1.5,1.7,2,2.4,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10
and
zoom.maxPercent
from
300 to 1000
but when I exit, the changes do not take. Upon restarting FF the old values are present.

Do you have a user.js file in the Firefox profile folder that might revert this change?

In about:config, the values I changed to for the preference name browser.gesture.swipe.left was Browser:PrevTab and for browser.gesture.swipe.right was Browser:NextTab.

How do I set the about:config settings for all users? iprism keeps prompting from authentication for users.

When users log on and try to open Firefox 23.0.1, users are prompted with Iprism Authentication. We made changes to the firefox about:config values "network.automatic-ntlm-auth.allow.-non-fqdn" and "Network.negotiate-auth.allow-non-fqdn" to true and it works, but only works on a per user basis. How can we set this up for all users?

I would think the about:config entries discussed are ex-factory set to values each user has to change individually, after the installation has run its course. The solution could be to have patched files ready to install post factum:

About:config setting for making the menubar visible

Hi, I've been trying to customize firefox for deployment. I need to be able to enable the menubar by default on firefox. I know how make the menubar visible via the orange firefox button but that's not a feasible option on a group of computers. I've looked through about:config, searched and googled, but I can't seem to find a setting that will make the menubar visible by default. Any help would be appreciated.

This needs chrome code not a config change.

Need to disable the clearing of browsing history and what is the "about:config" function for it?

I am working on an Group Policy Administrative template for Wetdog.exe, and it's awesome by the way. Just want to know what function to use (listed in "about:config" url) so i can turn this feature off entirely.
I don't want my users deleting browsing history, or have any ability to view it either.
Still, i want the browser to keep at least 30 days of history.
This is EASILY accomplished in Internet Explorer via GPO, but not so much in Mozilla with wetdog.exe and it's admin templates. I am using Windows Server 2003 enterprise edition R2 on 2 domain controllers, and Windows XP Professional SP3 client workstations with Mozilla 3.6.3 and the latest version of Wetdog.exe and it's admin templates.
Any help would be much appreciated!!!

It can be annoying, but I think their motivation is good. They are trying to make things better for their customers and I think they have, even though sometimes it is annoying. I think it would be nice if they would advise us when the pages are going to be down for maintenance, In the mean time, you could have another E mail account so you can always get access to your E mail.

About:Config opens for a fraction of a second, then returns a blank page

When attempting to open Firefox's about:config page, it shows the confirm/warning screen for a fraction of a second, then seems to redirect to a blank page.
I first noticed this just after installing Minefield, which I have now uninstalled - though I do not use about:config often and the issue could have started before then.

Did you use the same Firefox 3.6.x profile folder with the Minefield 4.0 version?
You should be careful with doing that because the two versions are not compatible (some files may get upgraded; extensions.sqlite) and you can get problem if you use that profile in the future again with a 4.0 version.
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems

There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins"

I used the suggested about:config solution for a way to revert from this abysmal new download thing to the old page. the page pops up , but remains blank

I am setting up a custom firefox profile and would like to tweak some of the options that are accessed via about:config.
I would like to know where this information is stored and whether I am able to modify these options outside of the browser.

UNDO Management - Config changes for OLTP and large background processes

I am running 9i on a 2 node RAC cluster - Sun Solaris.
I use Automatic Undo.
The database is currently configured for OLTP and has 2 undo datafiles - 1GB in size and undo_retention set to default (900seconds)
I am about to start scheduling a batch job to run each night that will delete approx 1 million records each time it runs.
To get this to work without the dreaded Error -30036: ORA-30036: unable to extend segment by 8 in undo tablespace 'UNDO01', I have increased the undo datafiles to 5GB and the undo_retention to 4000.
The question is do I need to worry about switching between these settings - using the smaller values for daytime OLTP and the nighttime settings for the heavy processing?
What issues might I encounter if I just left the UNDO Management settings in place that I use for the large delete?

I would say no, leave the settings the highest level required to accomplish the work of the instance. Once the setting are correct for the instance, you should not have to change them around. They are really max setting for the heaviest load on your instance.

Babylon browser hijack has taken over my firefox. I have deleted all files that I can from my hard drive, I have gone to about:config, searched for babylon and reset the settings, however it still comes back. How can I get rid of babylon?

I have tried malwarebytes, it only found "mywebpage" bugs, but I deleted them too. I also did a scan of my hard drive and deleted five files that all contained "babylon" in them. It still comes back time and time again.

Currently we have the scenario like
ex: on invoice of Rs 1000
                   Tds 10% = Rs 100
                Ecess 2% =   Rs 2
                Scess 1% =   Rs 1
for we run the 26q we are getting like:
Tds = Rs 101(which includes tds 10% + Scess 1%)
Ecess = Rs 2
Now we want like:
Tds = 100
Ecess + Scess = 2+1 = Rs 3 (Club both E cess and Sec E cess)
Please help me how to configure the above scenario.

Currently when I run the J1INQEFILE, I am getting the output like
The column Tds includes the value of (TDS + 1% Secondary education Cess (S Ecess))
The next column contains the Surcharge of 10%
The next column contains the EDucation Cess(E Cess) of 2% and
then the total value column
What I require now is in TDS Column I want just the value of TDS and not the 1% Secondary education cess
This Secondary Education cess of 1% is to be added to the value of Education cess of 2%
i.e., Now my Education Cess column should carry the value of the Secondary education Cess of !% + the Education Cess of 2%. The total value now should be 3%.
I hope this clears the querry.

Network security change to WPA2 won't take

Hi all, I am getting a very low airport signal strength and am concerned other neighbors are using my connection. I am using a mac mini OS 10.4.11 with a wireless Belkin54g 802.11g router. In system pref. I noticed that there seems to be "none" security on the network, and when I try to add a WPA2 password for more security, it accepts the changes. However, when I then try to connect to my network, it asks if I want to join the "belkin54g" -which is mine, and it connects automatically without asking for the password I created. Furthermore, I can see that the security setting changes when I connect from WPA2 personal to "none" again. How can I simply add security to this network and be confident that others without the password can't join?

In addition to Fortuny's correct advice, I'd suggest giving your router a distinctive name, so that it is easier to recognize as being your own.
The low signal strength would normally not be an indication of your router being used by others. You might need to change the channel number of your router so that it is not trying to use the same band as the other routers in your neighborhood. Normally you need to get 3 channel numbers away from other users to minimize interference.
You can use this program:

to determine which channels are being used by routers in your immediate neighborhood.

Serial Number for CC won't take

I am a student and downloaded the trial version of Photoshop CC. I have the serial number but it has letters and numbers and the letters will not go it. Mac OS X 10.8.5 I have CS6 already and cannot find any help on the message boards.
