Hello, I would like to know if any one could tell me how to fix my daughters ipod touch or if I need to take it into an apple store. One of the kids on her school bus stole it out of her backpack. Wipe it clean and restore it. You should then be able to rename the iPod and set up an account with iTunes. I hope this helps!

You will need to restore your device as New to remove a Restrictions passcode. Go through the normal process to restore your device, but when you see the options to restore as New or from a backup, be sure to choose New.
You can restore from a backup if you have one from BEFORE you set the restrictions passcode.

If it has the disabled screen on it then you will need to connect it to your computer's iTunes, and you should be able to use that to reset it back to factory defaults : iOS: Forgot passcode or device disabled
You can then restore/resync your content to it.

Yes, if you repurchase it you may lose your progress. The exception would be a game that stored all your progress on a server under your ID
If you want to retain your progress you have two choices:
1. Don't apply the update.
2. Use your fathers account password to update the game.

A few general trouble shooting tips that may apply here:
1. If you used Software Update to do the OS update(s) to reach 10.6.7, go to http://support.apple.com/downloads/ and download and apply the Mac OS v10.6.7 Combo Updater. The Combo Updater contains some fixes that were not included in the incremental updaters used by Software Update.
1a. Check that you have the current version of Pages (and of the other iWork applications) installed. All three applications' current version numbers end in .0.5
2. A common cause of malfunctioning applications is a corrupted preferences file (.plist file). Your Pages '09's plist is at yourname > Library > Preferences > com.apple.iWork.pages.plist
Quit Pages, locate the file and Drag it to the Desktop (or to the Trash).
Restart Pages and attempt to open one of the files.
If all is well, Trash the plist file and empty the Trash.
If there's no change, AND you've made changes to the Preferences that you wish to keep, drag the file back to its previous location, replacing any new one that has been created.

No. I'm sorry you didn't read all the press about this during the past 6 months, but from the get-go Steve said the iPhone would be a closed system. Recently he kind of left the door open to maybe let developers write applications (well, he didn't actually say that, but he made it sound like they were "working on something").
You cannot buy/download ANY third party applications. You only get what comes with the iPhone. Of course, Apple could provide updates to your phone in the future and add new applications, but still, you only get what they give you.
Now, you mention an "online gambling site". You can use Safari to interact with AJAX-scripted web sites (these are called "web applications" not applications in the traditional sense given that you have to be online, have to connect to their web site, and a bunch of other stuff I won't get into). I'm not familiar with the online gambling site you speak of, but does it require you to download some software? If it does, then you're out of luck, if it doesn't, well you still may be out of luck if the web site relies on Flash or Java.

Sounds like a nice idea, but I do not think it is possible. A lot of the options of Acrobat are built into the registry and those aspects would no longer be available. I am not saying absolutely no, but I just don't think so.

If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 6.0.1. For the iPad Mini the iOS is 6.0.2. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.
