  • Account hacked this morning

    I woke this morning to find that my Skype account had been hacked, the password and email changed for my primary account. I am currently logged in via another skype account/name which was linked to my original, main username. 
    I went through the form and submitted all the information I could remember for account recovery, was given a support number and told it could take up to 24 hours. 
    Is there any way I can expedite this? This is beyone frustrating!
    Several of my Skype friends are contacting me, asking why I am asking them for personal information. This person is using my account for phishing! I have the screen name he's changed my account to:

    (no, this is NOT me!)
    Location: abu-dhabi, abu-shabi, United States
    This info was sent to me by a friend who is logged into skype, reading 'my' profile.

    ok my account was hacked this morning too password was changed CC has had mutiple attemps to add funds to my account and all I get from you guys is the same **bleep** email telling me to fill out the same **bleep** info over and over again. What is with skype I had the same prob with your service before trying to change my email having someone fill out the same form oer and over again dosn't help anyone in fact it makes me want to cancle everything I have with you guys and just forget about skype. but I can't **bleep**ing do that till I get a response from you guys so I can change my password back..... smfh

    My iTunes account has been hacked via Canada according to an email from apple some one in china tried a few weeks ago but failed.
    I changed my password a couple time now but it seems that someone has hacked it and downloaded a free game called "game of war fire age" as I said its a free game but the in app purchases can be up to £69.99 per purchase of gold?
    This is a worrying thought that my account has been compromised and I am unsure of what to do about it.

    i recieved the same email with the same game and it also stated the purchase was from canada i have revieved a few other as well and am concerned i have changed my password a few times now but i still revcieve emails and am very worried. i recieved the email near the date this question had been put up

So in the morning I have came home and logged on to my skype well The first thing I see is about 140 messages for a guy named Nate talking to someone named clairee martell. They talked for a while.   • My iCloud account has been hacked

    I think my iCloud account was hacked this morning. I went to log in and iCloud refused my password was refused and I noticed an email from Apple iCloud in Chinese. I have now reset the password, but just as a heads up to the wider Apple community that it looks as though yet another Chinese hack is under way.  So a simple question to Apple, how can we the user community be assured that our accounts are secured and not subject to ongoing attacks?

    Not silly questions at all!
    "Safe" is a tricky term. Nobody can ever tell you that accessing websites is 100% safe. Even if you are going through an encrypted site, if you're in a public place, someone could be watching over your shoulder to see you type your login and password.
    As you say, the iPad itself is relatively (compared to PCs) secure in the sense that there is no chance of viruses or malware stealing your logins.
    But you can take sensible steps to be careful.
    If you think you have reason to be concerned about the security of any of the sites you've mentioned, I would recommend you change your passwords. Start with email - if someone else has access to your email, they will often be able to detect and reset any changes you make to other accounts. Then change the other accounts.
    Do not use the same password for all your accounts.
    Gmail has the ability to use SSL - check in your iPad's Mail settings whether "Use SSL" is ON.
    The Barclays app should certainly transmit information in an encrypted manner, so again, provided you have a good password and are cautious about logging in in public view, you're covering your bases.

  • My Account Has Been Hacked/Unauthorized Purchases

    Hello all, I'm hoping that you can help me with my problem.
    I discovered earlier this week that my Apple iTunes account had been hacked.  Unfortunately, whoever hacked my account changed my account information and purchased $100 in gift cards.  Luckily, for whatever reason the charges haven't yet (fingers crossed) appeared on my debit card statement.  Regardless, I have been trying to contact Apple since Tuesday to no avail.  I have not been able to uncover an iTunes customer support telephone number (I may be an idiot, but I looked for about 1.5 hours and didn't find one, only numbers for placing orders, etc.).  Instead, I've read that I should use the "Report a Problem" button on the "Purchase History" screen in iTunes.  I would be more than happy to do this, IF IT WAS POSSIBLE!  Sadly for me, the grey arrow circle is not available next to the order, so I am unable to report it.
    I visited apple.com and was overjoyed to find an e-mail form to report unauthorized purchases with.  I filled it out and received an automated reply which said to expect a reply within 24 hours.  24 hours came and went and I hadn't received a reply, so I sent another e-mail yesterday afternoon.  This is actually humorous because on the second automated reply, it said to expect a response within 48 hours.  Maybe they are really busy right now?
    I haven't used my iTunes account since I discovered the unauthorized purchases as I'm not sure how Apple deals with these situations.  I've left my account the way the hacker left it (with his name, address, etc.).  This is becoming quite annoying to me as I would like to download some new apps.
    Is anyone out there dealing with the same issue?

    Hey folks, this just happened to me too... Looks like purchases happened yesterday and ran up some gift cards, but on the penny of someone elses account information and credit card info.  Pretty crazy too, just sent an email and hoping to get this cleared up for my sake and whoever was charged.  (I doubt they meant to charge 100 bucks in gift cards to someone named Ruth) 
    In a crazy way I'm glad I'm not the only one this has happened to...  Sorry that this happened to you guys...

    That does not mean your account has been hacked.
    All it means is that some spammer has attached your email address to some email he sent. That is incredibly easy to do (just change the From: address) and does not require access to your account.
    Spammers do this all the time. There's nothing you can do about it. Just delete the bounced emails and it will subside when the spammers move on to other email addresses.

The hackers added two pakistan subscriptions and my debit card attached to my account was charged $49.99 and $29.99. I immediately cancelled the subscriptions and changed my password.
