My Accounts are really ####ed up. Help!

Well my computer did something really odd. I have a MacBook 13in black, completely updated. This afternoon changed the account name(admin). I just wanted to change the name and after that I changed the home folder name. When I started safari application and messenger application a pop problem window appeared and told me that there was no keychain something. I clicked cancel and it changed everything in my desktop including, screensaver,my documents,dock,deleted widgets and everything!! I gathered most of the info in the users folder and tried to put it like it was before the mess up. But failed to do so. I dont know what happened and what to do. I lost some of my apple love lol.

Thanks a lot moon, it really helped a lot....my questions now is.... since I used the apple link method from the article moondaywitch gave me:http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=107854 , this article does not specify what should I do with my library or the previous home folders created? should I delete the wrongly created home??... I just right clicked on the real home folder(the good one,the first one of all) and renamed it and that seemed to do the trick I cheked most of the programs and they seem ok. I just lost bittorrent and google earth nothing important.

If you have a rescue email address (which is not the same thing as an alternate email address) set up on your account then go to https://appleid.apple.com/ and click 'Manage your Apple ID' on the right-hand side of that page and log into your account. Then click on 'Password and Security' on the left-hand side of that page and on the right-hand side you should see an option to send security question reset info to your rescue email address.
If you don't have a rescue email address (you won't be able to add one until you can answer 2 of your questions) then you won't get the reset option - you will need to contact iTunes Support or Apple to get them reset.
e.g. you can try contacting iTunes Support : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Account Management , and then 'Forgotten Apple ID security questions'
or try ringing Apple in your country and ask to talk to the Accounts Security Team : http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57
When they've been reset (and if you don't already have a rescue email address) you can then use the steps half-way down this page to add a rescue email address for potential future use : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5312

The censorship in regards to certain apps not being available in your country is by your country, not by Apple.
Due to various laws and licensing in each country, in order to have an iTunes store account in a particular country you must have a credit card with a billing address in that country. If this were up to Apple, there would be no such requirement and there would be only one iTunes store for the entire world, but various laws, regulations, and licensing issues in each country, this is required by Apple.

It looks like the app is not currently in the App Store, I can't find it in the UK nor US stores.
If you had previously downloaded it then do you have a copy on your computer's iTunes so that you can sync it to your iPad ?

Did you purchase them on your iPad with the same Apple ID that you are using for iTunes on your iPhone and that iTunes on your Mac is sign into?

My wife and I share an Ipad.   We each have our own email address and calendar.   What is the best way for us to backup both accounts (we currently only have 1 ICloud account)?   Thanks for any help!    Alan

First, you need to understand that there's a difference between "syncing" and "backup". Backup is the saving of content and settings, where syncing is the bidirectional transfer of content for an account to a web-based server (like iCloud, Gmail, Yahoo, etc.)
If you see your calendar in your iCloud account, that implies that you have set up your iCloud account to host (sync) your calendar, and perhaps contacts, email, and notes. An iCloud account can only sync one user's information at a time so it is intended to support a single user. You can have more than one iCloud account, and you can even have more than one iCloud account on the same device (but one has to be primary, and the secondary iCloud has limited capabilities), but a single iCloud account only supports a single user's content.
Backup is the saving of your device's content and settings to use in case you need to recover these things, but you can't see the contents of your backup (just the size and device name). You can backup more than one device to iCloud and you can backup to iCloud or you can backup to your computer, or both (one at a time though, you have to choose).
So, if your wife has her own email and calendar she can certainly do that in parallel to whatever account(s) you have for email and calendar. But if you have only one iCloud account then only one of you can use it for email, calendar, etc. But the backup of these accounts is really just a backup of the device's settings that link the device to these accounts. For example, if she uses Gmail then the backup of the iPad only backs up the fact that your iPad is set up to use her account, it does not backup the account itself (the content of her account is saved and preserved on Google's servers, not your device's backup).
Does that make better sense?

Business Rule error: Accounts are not available in the rule table

I have a problem running the Business Rule for the profit/loss copy to the equity account.
The Business Rule I set reads from all P&L accounts, P&L specific flow, acual category, all datasources and then it writes everything keeping the source settings apart from the account destination (the equity profit/loss account) and the flow destination (I write in two different flows, so the rule is made up of two equal lines differing only in the flow destination). "PROFIT" is the ID I chose.
Then I created the related script logic (ID=CALCACCOUNT):

Thanks for your quick response. There is no currency dimension in the application... I've tested with the correct businessrule as CALC value, but this didn't do the trick.

"network accounts are unavailable"

Hi,
I just upgraded to Lion and now I cannot log in to my mac using my network account. I checked and the computer is still joined to our windows domain.
Any ideas? Nothing has changed on our network so I am assuming it's a Lion issue. Thank you for any help you can provide.

Okay, some more information from my side - I am running a W2008 R2 PDC where:
I am able to bind any 10.6 based machine and use the network login
It was the same for a 10.7 machine which was upgraded from 10.6 (AD was already configured on 10.6)
Having my first machine installed from scratch with 10.7.1, I am not anymore able to get the network login working. I read several articles describing this issue offering different solutions - without luck!
Here is what I tried:
Configure AD with standard Mac OS X tools:
- Joining the domain works without any issue
- Network Account Server in System Preferences shows green
- Login after restart displays 'network accounts are unavailable'
Did try to add custom Search path, static IP address, verified DNS settings and search domains, reboot after each step, un-/rebind to domain several times w/o 'create home directory' and 'allow administration'
Also downloaded CentrifyDC Express for Mac: it also did join well to the domain but as well as the standard Mac OS X procedure it does not let me login (ADCheck verifying the global parameters if the conditions are fine to be able to find the DC in the DNS etc. reports no issues)
From what I learned so far, it must be the configuration which is being written. Most probably I would guess it works fine if you once have created the setup under SL?
Personally I was not able to find such issues as "sometimes it's working, sometimes not...".
This is really annoying !
Any more ideas on that???

Mail accounts are offline after update

Hi, I just updated to osx 10.6.4
The new mail 4.3 causes problems now. I have 7 mail accounts set up and since I updated I always have two accounts that seems to be offline. When I hit the stamp it sometimes changes the accounts that are offline.
No account is really offline, so that is a bug. Apple hotline can't help. I tried every setting, I created accounts again. Nothing works.
Does anyone have the same problem?

Change of payroll accounting area in middle of Period

SAP has recommended that we should not change payroll accounting area in middle of the period .
Now we cannot change the payroll area for the period for which it has run , assuming we have Monthly payroll area from 1 March 2011 to 31 March 2011 and payroll has not run for this period , I tried changing the payroll area on 5 March 2011 to an another weekly payroll area for which the period start date was 5 march 2011 but I am getting an error in PA30 when i try to do that saying org assignment for this employee does not exist for 1 Feb 2011 and some error saying start date after initial entry . What does that mean ?
And is it possible to do what I am trying .

The SAP software has a restriction regarding the transfer of employees between payroll areas - this process can only be performed at the end of each payroll period, in your case on 31 March 2011. Another restriction is that a change in payroll
area cannot be made retroactively.
The payroll area is simply used to group the employees whose payroll is to be processed at the same time. It may therefore be possible to re-hire your employees into the old payroll area, then transfer them to your required payroll area at the end of the period (start of the new period).
There are two restrictions regarding the payroll area:
- A change cannot be made retroactively.
- A change can only be made at the end of a period.
However, you can do an organizational change in the middle of the period and the payroll area change at the end of the period, which means you end up with two splits in infotype 0001. The payroll area is only an organizational entity, where all employees who are to be accounted in the same payroll run are assigned to.

Note 1291073 was done for the countries you have mention above for legal reasons and will not be extended to other countries unless there is a legal document that shows it has to be allowed for them.

How many itunes accounts are allowed per computer?

Hi, I'm trying to figure out the best way to handle configuring all 80 of the iPads my business is purchasing. I know there is a limit of 10 devices per iTunes account. How many iTunes accounts are permitted per computer? I tried to just create 8 apple ids, which I was able to do online. But when I try to sign in to those on iTunes, once I get to the part where I verify with a credit card, I can not get past the 3rd one. I have previously signed in with 2 other accounts on my machine, so I'm wondering if there is a limit of 5 accounts per computer. Can anyone verify? If that's true, what suggestions do you have for how to get around or best manage this situation?

The limit you are referring to is for a single personal Apple ID (not for multiple users) that is allowed to be associated with a total of 10 devices (up to 5 computers and the rest on iOS devices). Example you can have 5 computers and 5 iOS devices, 3 computers and 7 iOS devices, but not 6 computers and 4 iOS devices.

iPads sync to 1 computer only.
All media and apps are tied to the Apple ID that purchased them.
Without your relatives ID and password, you cannot update any of the Apps.
I am pretty certain he is also violating Apples terms of service by giving you the apps.

By the sounds of it you have linked Email Accounts, if so this means that you will both recieve the majority of the same Emails, and if you do and you read them on your account (which is linked with your husbands) then they will appear to read on the both of them because they are linked. With the majority of Email providers these days they're Emails are (simplified) in the cloud you could say, meaning that if you read or delete shared Emails then it will do the same on both accounts rather than just the yours.

App for Windows 8 are really bad

The apps Microsoft made for Skype are really bad.
Any chance for a update so you have some chance of getting to things like call and chat and make it more clear who are online.
Out of a lot of bad apps for windows 8 this take the cake!!

This thread started some time ago, so please correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks like the word "sucks" was replaced with "are really bad" in the last 12 hours.
The only reason I bring this up is because this is censorship and let me tell you Elaine that it is NOT helping Microsoft/Skype's case here!
If something SUCKS it means it IS REALLY BAD. The word "sucks" is VERY well known throughout the english speaking world to mean this. Any moderation on the grounds that the moderation was done "In deference to international sensibilities" is ridiculous! This stinks of corporate censorship!
Rather than censor everyone's comments, how about you (the company) just fix the issues and let us know they are fixed OR if fixing them isn't going to happen in the near future at least let us know that you're working on it!
I have not seen even one official comment by Skype or Microsoft staff regarding this issue! NOT ONE! That implies to me that there is something seriously wrong and its almost definitley not going to be fixed any time soon!
Perhaps after all these years of being a happy customer it is time to start looking at moving away from Skype to another service...
