My acrobat plugin application crashes in Citrix server

Hi,
      The old version of my plugin application was able to run on acrobat installed  in citrix server.In the old version, resource file was present in  the plugin project folder itself.
In the new version of my plugin application,I maintained separate project folder containing resource files and created the dll for that,which gets loaded in my plugin project.This is the only difference between my old and new version.
In Citrix server,   I am able to install the application in the acrobat,after installation if I click on acrobat.I get run time error  saying-
Run time error!!
Program: <acrobat installation path>
abnormal program termination!!
I  developed the plugin using acrobat sdk7.
What has might the problem or went wrong so that application crashes on server?
please help,as i have no idea on citrix servers.newto this environment.
Thanks in advance,
Sind

Hi,
Can you check if you are experiencing the same crash on other machine as well ? What does your plugin application do ?

  • Adobe Acrobat plugin keep crashing

    Every time I try to view a pdf in Firefox, I get an error message stating that the Adobe Acrobat plugin has crashed.

    '''mtnharry''' (or anyone else with this problem) maybe this will help:
    ===The Adobe Acrobat plugin has crashed===
    You can get this error when both Adobe Reader X and Adobe Acrobat are installed. You can resolve the problem as follows:
    #Open the Adobe Reader X application
    #Go to''' Edit''' -> '''Preferences'''
    #Under Categories (on the left) select '''General''' (near the top)
    #Click the button '''Select Default PDF Handler''' (at the bottom)
    #Under "Select Adobe Product", open the drop-down menu and click "Adobe Reader X".
    #Click "Apply", then close Adobe Reader X

  • I have updated my Adobe Acrobat plugin three times today but the firefox plugin check says it is out of date, a problem as I repeatedly encounter "The Adobe Acrobat plugin has crashed" when I attempt to download pdfs.

    I am attempting to download pdf's from a library search on JSTOR. I can view the pdf but cannot download them as they say "The Adobe Acrobat plugin has crashed". I have been to the firefox plugin check and have updated Adobe Acrobat three times in the last hour, but it still says my plugin is not up to date. This leads me to believe that this may be the source of my crash errors.
    I updated Adobe Flash from the same firefox plugin check page and after one try it now says I am up to date, so my system is obviously accepting these updates.
    Help!!!!!

    The following solution is useful for people who have the full version of Acrobat 9, but are getting the error message "the Adobe Acrobat plugin has crashed". You probably want the features in the full version of Acrobat, but still need to be able to open PDF files from your Firefox browser.
    Go to Tools > Options > Applications. Scroll down and change all of the Adobe Acrobat files to open with Acrobat 9 (or whatever version you have) instead of "Use Adobe Acrobat (in Firefox)". This may not be as handy as having it use Acrobat inside the Firefox browser, but it will still let you open PDF files without having to uninstall the full version of Acrobat. Hope this helps.

  • Need help troubleshooting acrobat.exe application crash

    Many of our agency Windows XP SP2 systems are having problems opening .pdf files in Acrobat 8.1.2 Pro. We can open Acrobat, by itself, but if we try to open a .pdf file it immediately crashes. We don't get a Dr. Watson log file or anything outside of a Microsoft Error Notificatioin that we had an Application Fault in acrobat.exe in module 'unknown'
    I'm having trouble trying to figure out where to start troubleshooting!

  • Why does the Adobe Acrobat plugin crash everytime I open a PDF?

    I am currently running the Firefox 11.0, which is the most up-to-date version as of this writing. Every time I open a PDF file, it says that "Adobe Acrobat plugin has crashed". I have Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro, which came as part of my school's standard software package. The Mozilla website says I have the most up-to-date version of the Acrobat plugin.
    P.S. I recently updated my version of Adobe Reader X to try to fix the problem, but that didn't work. I'm not entirely sure how Reader is related to Acrobat, so I don't know if that would affect my ability to read PDFs in Firefox.

    hi WDWPhishFan,
    Have you looked at [[The Adobe Flash plugin has crashed]] and [[Opening PDF files within Firefox]]?
    The first article has a lot of good troubleshooting steps that might help. The second article actual lists a couple of plugins that can be used for opening PDF files. I'd give both of them a try just in case.
    Hopefully this helps!

  • Adobe Acrobat plugin crashes every time

    Any time I try to open any pdf, it will open for a millisecond and then the Adobe Acrobat plugin will crash. I view pdfs on the web all day long at my job so this is a big issue. I just started using Firefox about 1 week ago after an absence and noticed the pdf problem immediately when I updated to 9.0.1 yesterday.

    I did find a "work around" several days back. I had Acrobat Pro and Acrobat Reader on my machine. I found if I uninstalled Acrobat Reader, that fixed the problem.
    I will check out the 2 links you posted, reinstall Acrobat Reader, see what happens and post...

  • OS X 10.5.6 CS4 Premiere Pro CONFLICT with VST plugins? Application CRASH

    Hi everybody,<br /><br />just tried to run the trial of premiere cs4. the application crashes on startup without even completing the initialization. instead a bug report comes up while the program scans the installed units / vsts-plugins that are already on my system (MBP 2years old, 4GB RAM). i have several vst-instruments installed for use with logic.<br /><br />what i figured out is: <br /><br />if i move my folder <harddisk>/library/audio/plug-ins/vst - folder (so premiere does not find the vst-plugs) the program works just fine.<br /><br />so my questions:<br />1. can i manually set a different folder for premiere to scan for plugins? o obviously do NOT want to move that folder back and forth every time i switch between premiere and audio-applications<br />2. is there a way to make premiere "understand" my vst-plugs (such as massive etc.)<br /><br />HAS ANY OF YOU EXPERIENCED THE SAME / ANY HINTS?<br /><br />I am really looking forward to your ideas - thank you very much in advance!

    Superb, thanks a lot.
    What I addionally tried (and it worked in most of the cases) is to move all vst plugs into a different folder and then replace one by one. the ones who force the crash go to trash (incl. ALL files on your system --> http://www.native-instruments.com/index.php?id=niosxtut2&L=2) and reinstall AFTER CS4 HAS BEEN INSTALLED. obviously the "rank" is important.
    my probs are solved, thank you!

    Hi Sue,
    Does this happen with any particular file or all files?
    Since the crash report above mentions accessibility.api, so are you working on any related function like adding tags etc. when Acrobat crashes?
    Disable all the 3rd party services working in the background and check.

  • Application crashes when making Comments in Acrobat Pro XI

    I'm using Acrobat Pro XI on an iMAC... I'm trying to make 'comments' to a pdf file I have created, but every time I type in the 'comment box' the application crashes. Is anyone else having the same problem, if so, have you been able to find a work around?
    Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    What you may remember, and what is still in Acrobat Pro XI, is the ability to align form fields when in form editing mode.
    However, the new text editing features allow some degree of alignment. There is no align tool, nor an align command.
    If you're trying to align the baselines of text, I'd first show the rulers (View > Show/Hide > Rules & Grids > Rulers) and draw a guide from the ruler to the baseline of the first text frame. Then as you're moving a frame (and it can be tricky when the frames are small), you want the Move cursor (looks like the Move tool in Photoshop). If you do that you should see green alignment "smart guides" appear as you drag. Finally, while still in that mode, you can tweak the position of a text frame by using the arrow keys on your keyboard to move in approximately 1 point increments.
    I would also appreciate the ability to align like in a layout program like InDesign, but they haven't yet included it.

  • VFP application in Citrix server

    Hi,
    I have a vfp application and it is using Microsoft Outlook to send emails. If we access the application via Citrix server, which Outlook application is it using? i.e. Outlook installed in the Citrix server or Outlook installed in the clients computer?
    As I know it should use Outlook installed in Citrix server. Please confirm this. Thanks.
    Best Regards.

    The best bet is to make a small test exe with just that CREATEOBJECT() call and see what is instanciated. Setup a client without outlook and run it on citrix server with outlook and you'll see.
    Reading
    http://www.webopedia.com/TERM/C/Citrix_server.html
    and
    http://www.webopedia.com/TERM/W/WinFrame.html
    Citrix Server works just like any other virtual or real machine you connect to via remote desktop.
    The apps running there will OLE automate the ole servers there, so eg Outlook has to be installed in that virtual windows alongside your vfp app and vfp will use that server side outlook.
    Your program does not automate the client, it's only visualized on it via a citrix client side software used to connect to citrix server and display it.
    There is a slight chance such virtualisation software enhances and incorporates more from the client, eg one technology having spread among virtualisation solutions is seamless integration of the remote application windows, so it seems like the remote apps
    run local. The display is accelerated in not sending the graphics to clients but GDI+ or DirectX 2D commands, which can be executed by client graphics hardware.
    And it is just a small step to forward any ole server instanciateions like CREATEOBJECT("Outlook.Application") to be executed at the client.
    So finally as first said, make a small test EXE and you know for sure what happens.
    Bye, Olaf.

  • Are plugins able to create graphical controls children to the Acrobat/Reader application?

    Hello,
    in the documentation I read
      Acrobat Viewer layer
    The Acrobat Viewer (AV) layer enables plug-ins to control Acrobat and modify its user interface. Using AV methods, you can, for example, add menus and menu commands, add buttons to toolbars, open and close files, display simple dialog boxes, and perform many other application-level tasks.
    I ask if it is possible that a plugin creates a graphical control like others applications can usually do and put it as a legitimate child of the Acrobat/Reader application, for example over a pdf page, and get events and so on.
    Thanks in advance

    Sure.

    Acrobat 8 Professional crashes 10 seconds after you start the application. I have adobe acrobat 8.1 running on a dell vostro 1400 vista.

  • Template generating script crashes acrobat x application

    Hi,
    I am fairly new to acrobat scripting. I have been beating my head against the wall on this one and have come to ask the collective. The following script works if numberPages is set to 1 (one new page is generated based on the template). When I change numberPages to 2 or more, the application crashes. Any suggestions?
    This is on acrobat x, windows 7
    Thanks,
    Roland
    var mypath = "Template1.pdf";
    numberPages = 1;
    this.insertPages({cPath: mypath, nPage: -1});
    t = this.createTemplate({cName:"signoff", nPage:0 });
    t.hidden = true;
    // spawns number of pages
    for (i = 0; i < numberPages; i++){
      t.spawn(i, true, false);

    Looks like I finally figured it out. It was something quite silly. Apparently, hiding the template before spawning it is a bad idea (at least under certain circumstances...when there are comments in the source file and a form in the template file). This script seems to work just fine so far:
    var mypath = "Template1.pdf";
    numberPages = 6;
    this.insertPages({cPath: mypath, nPage: -1});
    t = this.createTemplate({cName:"signoff", nPage:0 });
    // spawns number of pages
    for (i = 0; i < numberPages; i++){
      t.spawn(i, true, false);
    t.hidden = true;
