My address line went away. how can i get it back?
I opened Safari and the apple page opened. Usually there is an address line and now it is gone. Help me get it back...please.
Linc's instructions will give you the status bar at the bottom of the screen. You actually need to click View>Customize Toolbar. Drag the address bar down to the lower half of the settings screen and position it where you want it.

Why did my Address Book disappear and how can I get it back?
The Address Book application has simply disappeared on two of my MacBook Pros. I thought the first one (work laptop) was a fluke but now that it's happened on my own MacBook I think something is wrong.
The app is no longer available anywhere on my hard drive. It's as if I threw it away, but I didn't. I can't open any associated files, so I don't even know if the data has been preserved.
Can anyone help me figure out why it disappeared, where it went, and how to get it back, short of reinstalling OS X 10.5.8 (the version I'm currently using)? I want to upgrade to Snow Leopard (not Lion -- no one seems to like it), but I'd like to fix this problem first. And I can't upgrade on the work MacBook because I have to use the enterprise-approved OS version.

What are the sizes & modification dates on the files you found?
Could be many things, we should start with this to be safe, though 2 different ones would seem unlikely to be this problem...
"Try Disk Utility
1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu at the top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.
3. Click the First Aid tab.
4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
5. Click Repair. Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."

Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
If perchance you can't find your install Disc, at least try it from the Safe Boot part onward. -

I have the same question, but can you clarify something please. I have about 10 apps showing in the apps section of iTunes - all of which I am happy to have on my iphone - but NOT on the Touch.
1. How do I 'delete' the apps wrongly synched to the Touch, and
2. For the future, when I download an app. hor do I ensure it is only synched with the iphone and not the Touch. I have very space left on the Touch and don't want to clutter it with unwanted apps.

I have lost my address field in Safari -how can I get it back
I have no address field in Safari any more. Only my home page comes up and I cant write over it to get another web page. Also google search bar disappeared.
I doubt you'll get off so easy, because it's probably the "H0" bug.
My self-made cook-book solution is to close Safari, and pull out the com.apple.safari.plist file from the ~/library/preferences/ folder.
Re-start Safari to generate a new preference file. Tadahhh.... And don't forget to re-toggle your auto-fill if you depend on it. -
The Pages program seems to have vanished off my computer. I can't open any of my Pages documents. It says " no default application" I've tried to search ffor it and there's nothing. Is there an advanced search I could try or some other thing I can do to find it? Thanks for any help.

You can re-download it from the App Store: Open the App Store and make sure you are signed on with the Apple ID you used to purchase Pages originally. Click on the Purchases tab at the top of the screen. You should see Pages listed. If it says "Download" next to it, then you can re-download it. If it says "Installed" it means that it is somewhere on the Mac, so go to the Finder and do a Search from there.

My back arrow on the task bar went away. How can I get it back?
I think I did some kind of keystroke thing. "remove item" came up when I was trying to back to a previous screen of pictures. I do not think I accepted the command as I was surprised to see it.

You can edit keyboard shortcuts in Settings>General>Keyboard>Shortcuts>Edit.

I've just found the keyboard shortcut in Garageband for 'copy region' had changed from cmdC to ctrlC. I went to Preferences and clicked Restore Defaults for shortcuts. Now its altC . How can I get it back to the original commands.
When I use find file http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/30073/find-file (which does tend to find files that "Finder" can't), it's not coming up with any other itunes library files that have been modified in the past week, which I know it would have been - unfortunately, I don't have a very recent backup of the hard drive. It would be a few months old so it wouldn't have the complete library on it....any ideas? I'm wondering if restarting the computer might help but have been afraid to do so in case it would make it harder to recover anything...I was looking at this thread https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4211589?start=0&tstart=0 in the hopes that it might have a helpful suggestion but it's definitely a different scenario.

I've lost my website address bar! How can a get it back?
Safari is working perfectly, except I cannot see my website address bar, that's the one where you enter the address of a site beginning with www. Its just vanished. How can I get it back?
Click "View"menu in the Safari menu bar at the top of the screen
and select "Show Toolbar".

From the drop down drag the default set into the Toolbar.

Maybe you have multiple accounts that's why your purchase history is empty. You can try checking for possible Apple IDs that's existing for you or you can ask for assistance from support.

If you are now in the US then you can only use the US store, so you should update the address on your account
Changing country : Change the country of your iTunes Store, App Store, iBooks Store, and Mac App Store account.
Had you copied the songs over to your computer's iTunes library, do they show in the Music section on it ? You can copy purchases that you still have on your iPad over to your computer's iTunes library via the File > Devices > Transfer Purchases menu option -
Iphoto just lost my last import of pictures, how can i get them back?

What happens now, when you open iPhoto? Are the photos not showing in the library or iPhoto still crashing?
What is your current iPhoto version?
If you imported the photos into iPhoto, but are no longer seeing them after the crash, try if rebuilding your iPhoto library will find the photos inside the library. Rebuilding might collect them in a "recovered" event.

I'm running iPhoto '08 version 7.1.5. My collection of 25,000 photos on iPhoto library is completely empty. How can I get them back?
I dragged one photo to the My Pictures folder in Finder. I knew it was just one photo because it was the only one highlighted in yellow. When I saw it in Finder, it was labled iPhoto. I thought it was the wrong picture, so in Finder I deleted the file. When I got back to iPhoto, EVERYTHING was missing. Events, photos, recent, and even trash. At this point, I went into my Trash. Where did you drag the photo from?
Have you tried dragging it from the trash to the desktop? What size is it?
What size is your iPhoto library in the pictures folder?

Hello.. For a while now I've been wondering at the finder status bar, it's reporting that there are 684gb of space available. I am currently on a 750gb hard drive and I know for a fact I have more than 150gb of data on my machine. I went into about t
