my adobe captivate6 installs but does not run on my windows7 dell inspiron with 4gb ram and 500gb hdsk, i downloaded the trial first 32bit and it installed fine and didnt run. so i thought that a full version with a 64bit installation will do the trick, but after that the captivate 6 did not still work on my system. i also tried it on an acer with duo core and the captivate software installed and did not still work. it only shows the captivate flash screen.
a friend installed his on an acer laptop 64bit, i3processor, and it works fine. please i will be glad if i can be helped on how to correct this

Have you tried right clicking on the Cp icon and selecting Run as Administrator? This is something you MUST do in Win7 but was not necessary on Xp.

I've spent a couple hours going over advice on this forum as well as elsewhere on the Internet to resolve this. iTunes installs without a problem but when we run it, nothing appears. iTunes.exe *32 and iTunesHelper.exe *32 appear in the Windows Task Manager but there is no other evidence that iTunes is running.
I've tried installing and reinstalling. I've tried a number of different compatibility settings. Surely there must be an easy way to resolve this.

I do specify the main class in both, the Manifest file and the Info.plist file, in the correct way, "package.MainClass". Is there another place where I need to specify it?
Why do I need org/bouncycastle/asn1/DEREnumerated.class, and how would I have to specify it in Manifest?
I also posted these questions at Mac Programming at forums.macrumors.com and at Xcode-users Mailing List at lists.apple.com/mailman/listinfo, but I did not get any answer.

FLASH PLAYER INSTALLS BUT WILL NOT RUN

I have installed Flash Player multiple times. The installation indicates it was successful, the Control Panel and list of programs installed indicate that the program is present but when I run a web site that requires it, I get a message that I need to install it. The Adobe Flash Player Help does not indicate that it is installed.
Running Windows 7 Home Premium , 32 bit; service pack 1; IE 9.0.8112 The computer is a Dell Laptop with Intel (R) core(TM)2 Duo CPU T5800 @ 2.0 GHz 2.00 GHz with 3.00GB RAM. Tech specs say 2.33 GHz is required. Is this the problem? Are there earlier versions of Flash Point that will work?

Under Internet Options, I disabled Protective Mode and restarted the computer. Flash Player did not work. I then removed Flash Player using Windows uninstall via the Control Panel. I reloaded Flash Player with Protective mode still off. After Flash Player successfully loaded, I turned Protective mode back on ( I didn’t want to run in unprotected mode) I restarted the computer and Flash Player worked and has been ever since. I don't want to mess things up even more! Geez--I'm almost 60 years old,

I have recently purchased the finale 2011 music program, and it installs without any problems, but will not run when I try to start up the program. It acts like it is going to start, but stops when loading the plugins. I have been talking with Finale tech support for three days, and they are coming up empty, but they are still trying. Try booting in Safe Mode (hold the shift key while booting until the grey progress bar appears).

ITunes installs but will not run post install in SERVER 2003

I have MS Server 2003 as my OS. I haven't used iTunes in a long time because I never got it to work on my computer. I downloaded anapod explorer and that has worked well for me, but I really would like to try iTunes again as I have several friends that tell me how wonderful it is.
Anyways, I install iTunes and it goes through the initial setup procedure, then will not actually show up. I see iTunes.exe in my task manager for about 10 seconds then it disappears. No error message, no nothing. I've tried new versions, old versions, standalone quicktime, deleting "ipod/apple" anything out of the registry. I've force-disabled DEP.
I'm a well seasoned windows user, not so much mac stuff, but I've been messing with this for 3+ hours now, and can't seem to get it to run.

I don't think your OS is on the list of supported operating systems, but still.
Does your Quicktime work? iTunes can't work without it and the fault seemed to relate to a Quicktime file.
Sometimes installing the stand alone QUicktime works.
First completely remove Quicktime using the method here: it is not for your OS but I expect you can adjust.

When you come to the system32 folder you can remove any file with Quicktime in the name.
There can also be problems with incompatible codec packs. If you have any of the following:
ACE & K-Lite mega codecs package, QT alternative, Storm codec, WinAVI video converter, Mpcstar, (possibly starcodec pack, 3ivx)
Uninstall them before installing the stand alone QUicktime.
Download the version of Quicktime that does not include iTunes from here:

Note that it is not the default option.

Software installs but will not run

The software installs but when you try to open it the window flashes on the screen for a split second and then goes away. Has anyone seen this problem before? Please help!

My anti virus was already disabled. I uninstalled Quick Time and made sure there was nothing else running like a fire wall or anything. I tried to install it again and it would install the ipod but not the itunes.
I installed everything on a second computer and it went off without a hitch.
Any ideas??

Are you able to follow the instructions and use an Administrative account, turn off UAC and disable security software ?

Firefox update installs, but does not apprearon screen, or task manger yet is running what is going on and how does one fix it?

I installed the update Mozilla Firefox 28. It was suppose to launch upon completion. it did not appear on the monitor screen, nor the task manager, but was running; for when I attempted to install the older version again it, it said that Firefox was running and needed to be turned off.
I restarted the computer and tried opening Firefox, with the same results.
After restarting again, I attempted to reinstall the update, with the same results taking place.
I attempted to uninstall Firefox and install the new version. The same results took place.
In the past, I could install Firefox 27 update, only now I can't for the same thing takes place. Past a certain version (19), this event takes place, but 19 and older can install it with no problems.
I checked Firefox troubleshooting information. All was normal. I checked my firewall. Again, all was normal. Tried Firefox reset. Did not help. Tried with my firewall disabled. Did not solve the problem.
Ran a virus check (deep) no viruses. Checked my computer system. No errors.
I can install updates for my other programs, even install new programs; just not Firefox.
What is going on and how does one fix it.

Thank you for your question. From your description, you tried to install the 28 update from a version 19 installation. Did you install a fresh install of 28 successfully? Where the name of the file is"Firefox Setup Stub 28.exe"? This is what is sound like happened. When going to about Firefox and searching for updates it installs over the current installation. However if Firefox was already running, there are more than one installation.
Updating from version 19 to 28 would not be a problem. However the user data from your previous version would have to be imported to the new installation if you have more than one install on that computer.
An easy way to tell is to search for Firefox in the Start menu to see if more than one icon shows up in the search results.

ADOBE ACROBAT 9 PRO INSTALLS BUT DOES NOT COMPLETE

I'm a new user of Adobe Acrobat 9 pro. I had a trial version but uninstalled it with the superb help of Michael Kazlow and bought a full version.
It installed OK (after asking my serial number) but when I started to use it, I was asked for my serial number again on the back of the DVD box which I had inserted before the installation began.
Problem: When I type in my correct serial number and click Next, the screen shows a DIFFERENT serial number which it says is invalid and won't let me complete the installation. The error msg is "Invalid serial number- go back and enter the correct number" . I went back 5 times and entered the correct number and clicked Next and a different serial number from the one I typed appears on the screen and the same invalid serial number msg is repeated.
I'm stuck. Please help.

3) The one I'm having trouble with is one I bought. It installed itself but then asked me before I could use it wha y serial number was.

I bought adobe photoshop and premiere elements 13 and installed first of all adobe premiere on my laptop with windows 8. Every time I start the program it tells me to register the program and to accept the therms and conditions of adobe. After I ACCEPTED THEM NOTHING ELSE HAPPENS; THE PROGRAM STOPS SOMEHOW????

I work with a normal Compaq LAPTOP 1,72 GHZ and 2 GB RAM Windows 8.
The processor clock speed is low, but look at the installed RAM of 2 GB. I suspect much too low. If you have high definition project with video compression like AVCHD, you should be in for major problems even if you get the program to open. So, this is a major concern even at the level of trying to get the program to open in that computer environment. How many RAM slots does your computer motherboard have? Can you get at least 4 to 8 GB total installed RAM?
True, your Premiere Elements 13 is a 64 bit application running on Windows 8.1 64 bit and it can take advantage of the 64 bit resources. But you do not appear
to have much 64 bit resources for this to be a positive factor.
With regard to a possible factor that you mentioned...
If you suspect leftovers from previously uninstalled program(s), it is a good idea to go through the scenario
a. uninstall the program the usual control panel way
b. do a free ccleaner run through to get rid of leftovers from incomplete installs and reinstalls

c. reinstall the program with the antivirus and firewall(s) disabled.
Please review and consider. And, then we can discuss the above factors further.

Lightroom CC installed but does not run

The CC update has run and I now have Lightroom CC installed .... or so I thought.
I have a new shortcut for LR but it does nothing.
My old LR 5.7.1 still works - if I open this and check for updates it says it is up to date.
The new LR link is "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Lightroom\lightroom.exe"
After the LR update, CC said it needed updating so I did the update.
It now says I have the following apps installed ...
Photoshop CC                Update Ready
Photoshop CC (2014)      Update Ready
Bridge CC                      Update Ready
Lightroom 5                    Up to date
Lightroom CC (2015)       Up to date
Edge Inspect CC            Up to date
I am not aware of any updates for the first 3 items
I presume the multiple copies of versions may be part of the problem.
Any idea how I proceed?

It seems to have worked !   I was doubtful since I had already rebooted so I thought that would resolve things.
After the logout/login, I launched LR and updated my default catalogue. Then notified me that a third-party plugin was no longer compatible (no problem, I dont use it anyway)

Flash Player installs but does not work in Firefox

I have installed, uninstalled, and reinstalled latest Flash Player. It says installing is complete but I cannot view any of the videos that require it. I get the msg that I need to install latest version.

There's two different versions of Flash, ActiveX for IE and the Plugin version for other browsers.
1.Download the Flash setup file from here: 
[http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player.exe Adobe Flash - Plugin version]. 
Save it to your Desktop. 
2. Close Firefox using File > Exit 
then check the Task Manager > Processes tab to make sure '''firefox.exe''' is closed, 
{XP: Ctrl+Alt+Del, Vista: Shift+Ctrl+ESC = Processes tab}
3. Then run the Flash setup file from your Desktop.
* On Vista and Windows 7 you may need to run the plugin installer as Administrator by starting the installer via the right-click context menu if you do not get an UAC prompt to ask for permission to continue (i.e nothing seems to happen).
