My Adobe programs in CS 5.5 keep crashing.

My adobe programs in CS 5.5 keep crashing and I don't know why, also I can not open old files anymore. What do I do. I don't have the money to upgrade, I know people with older versions that do not have this trouble.

if they're all crashing, uninstall, clean and reinstall per Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6

  • Adobe Contribute v.6 for Mac keeps crashing

    Hello,
    I have Adobe Contribute v.6 for Mac and it keeps crashing.  Here are the troubleshooting steps I have taken, none of which I have provided a permanent resolution.
    1. Trashed the preferences and rebooted - did not help.
    2. Uninstalled Contribute using the uninstaller.  Reinstalled Contribute.  The program launched successfully and worked for a little while, but is now crashing again.  The application looks like it is going to open and goes to the first screen, but then it crashes.
    Any help you can provide would be much appreciated!
    Thanks!

    Could you please attach the crash report file?

  • Adobe InDesign CS5.5 and CS6 keep crashing

    InDesign CS5.5 and CS6 keeps crashing while working on the documents. It's hard to identify the patteren when it's crashes. I deleted the SING/DataStore. Used FontNuke to clear all font caches but none of those helps. CS 5.5 and CS6 are installed on different macs but both crash.

    I'm not an expert in reading crash reports, though I do recognze a few of the more common ones (which this is not).  You read them from the top down, so the fisrt line in the crashed thread is the last thing it was doing before the crash. In the case of the CS6 crash you posted, the fisrts 8 lines of thread 0 are Apple code calls, and the last thing that was happening in ID had to do withteh Object Widget Library (I think that's what OWL stands for).
    John Hawkinson is our real expert in this, but he doesn't come around this forum that much these days. You can gain some insight into reading the reports at Guide to Interpreting InDesign Crash Reports | InDesignSecrets

  • Adobe Encore CS6 won't open & keeps crashing on my Mac

    Hoping someone can suggest something here as I'm stuck.
    I have been happily using Premier and Encore CS6 on my Mac OS X (Version 10.7.5), until last night when I tried to open Encore and it wouldn't open. It starts to load, then it crashes and gives me the crash report.
    I have tried uninstalling encore and re-installing it, I have tried uninstalling my entire Master collection and re-installing it - but it still does the same thing. I don't know what has changed!! - I don't recall seeing any updates that may have changed things.
    Please help people, I use this program for my business, and at the moment my business has ground to a halt.

  • Adobe LiveCycle Designer 8.2 ES keeps crashing at Startup

    I've upgraded from Adobe Acrobat Professional 7.0 to Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.0. Acrobat works fine. However, every time I launch Designer I get a debug window at the splash screen. The program freezes and quits everytime. I've repaired, uninstalled, and rebooted several times. 7.0 is completely uninstalled. I've even checked the registry. Still it freezes and crashes.
    I'm on XP SP2 and have .NET Frameworks 1.1, 2.0, 3.0 and all their SPs.
    Please help.

    It might be here: "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Dr Watson\user.dmp".
    Or if there is a dump window you can follow these instructions:
    On Vista 32 bit, wait for the app to crash, and while the "your app has crashed" dialog is still visible, go to Task Manager process list, right click on FormDesigner.exe, and select "Create Dump File' from the context menu. After the dump file is written, its location will be shown in a second dialog box. The "designer crashed" dialog can then be dismissed.
    For Vista 64 bit, I think the dump files produced this way are probably not useful, because they will show stacks for the "64 bit side" of the 32 bit process, which is not what we want to look at. For Vista64, it is probably necessary to attach a real debugger to FormDesigner.exe and write a dump file.
    On XP, if the default drwtsn32 post-mortem debugger is installed, the dump of the last crash is available at "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Dr Watson\user.dmp". If the user has installed a different post-mortem debugger (e.g. visual studio) or disabled things somehow, then an ad-hoc dump can be made by waiting for the "designer crashed" dialog, and leaving that open. Then go to task manager's process list and note the process ID of FormDesigner.exe. Then bring up a command prompt and type:
    Drwtsn32 -p designer_PID
    where designer_PID is the process ID of FormDesigner.exe found in task manager. After that, the "designer crashed" dialog can be closed, and the dump will be found in "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Dr Watson\user.dmp".

  • HELP ADOBE AFTER EFFECTS CS 5.5 KEEPS CRASHING

    As soon as I load up adobe after effects it crashs. The load up thing stops at Intializing MediaCore and starts to say it is not responding and closes. But when I load up premiere pro CS 5.5 it works and has no problems at all. PLEASE HELP ME

    In addition to the additional information Mylenium suggests (info about your computer, versions of software, etc.) it would also be helpful if you would mention how long it was working before it started crashing and anything that you can think of that changed between the last time it worked and all the crashing now.

  • Adobe CS5.5 Web Premium Updater Keeps Crashing in Lion

    I have recently upgraded to Lion and my Adobe Web Premium CS5.5 will no longer update. When I click to run the updater, it just pauses for a moment then Application Manager just quits without any message. I am running OSX Lion on a Macbook Pro Core i7. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

    Hi Bob, after recreating everything I found out why exactly it wasn't working. First I forgot to deploy first Acrobat X and then the principal MSI (Adobe CS5.5 Web Premium.msi). That part is now working correctly as far as I can see. But now I'm having an error on the 32 bits when the principal msi is trying to install. I haven't tried the 64 bits version yet but I use the same msi properties. I'm getting an msi unknow error about path1 (msi property) that cannot be null. What exactly is path1? I only use these msi properties:
    ALLUSERS=1
    ARPSYSTEMCOMPONENT=1
    ARPPRODUCTICON=ARPPRODUCTICON.exe
    DWUSINTERVAL=30
    INSTALLLEVEL=100
    REBOOT=ReallySuppress

    ARPCOMMENTS="This package is created by Adobe Application Manager Enterprise Edition"

    Again, any help will be appreciated!

  • Adobe Acrobat Pro DC keeps crashing with "Not Responding" message

    Hi there, I just started using Adobe Acrobat Pro DC and it keeps crashing with a "not responding" message. It never used to happen with acrobat XI. Any ideas?
    I'm using Windows 8.1 on an Acer with AMD A10-5700 APU 64bit OS...

    Hi ,
    Does this happen while accessing any PDF ' or when you launch Acrobat ?
    You could try repairing Acrobat and see if that helps .
    Is there any error number or exit code associated with the error message ?If yes ,please share the screen shot of the same.
    You could also uninstall Acrobat using the Cleaner Tool .Here is the link to download Cleaner Tool .
    Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs
    Once uninstalled you could try downloading it again .If it is a subscription ,you could refer the following link .

    You could restart your machine as well and then try to launch Acrobat .
    If it is a perpetual license ,you could refer to this one .

  • I just installed Adobe CC Premiere Pro and it continuously crashes!

    I just installed Adobe CC Premiere Pro and it keeps crashing.  I've tried creating a new project, opening an existing project -- nothing works.  I can start a new project and get as far as to import clips into the project window but the moment I try to play a clip or create a sequence from it, it crashes.  I'm running off a brand new laptop (Lenovo X1 carbon 3rd gen)  8Gb Ram, i5 processor, best of anything I could get on this specific machine.  Any thoughts??
    The files I'm opening with a new project are MP4 files from a gopro camera.  The existing project was a CS5.5 file that it attempted to update to CC -- it actually located all of the files fine and as soon as it gets to the workspace with everything laid out, it crashes.  Let me know if I can supply any more information.

    I just posted Im having the same issue.
    Premiere Pro 2014.2 is crashing
    I love PPRO 2014 very much but, wrote an nasty gram to Adobe because each update seems to have issues.
    I have set my autosave to 5 min saves and each time I see it say AUTO SAVING I use it as a reminder to do a real save.
    I have a super system and it didn't use to crash like this every hour.
    Why not try it out for a year and do a major update vs little updates that have issues the last 3 times.
    I can't render either with the hardware setting, which did work for a year then, the latest update screwed that up.
    The Adobe Tech blamed it on Apple but, hey - it worked for a year until Adobes update.

  • My Adobe programs keep reverting back to CC instead of 2014.

    My Adobe programs keep reverting back to CC instead of 2014. I have tried restarting my computer as well as uninstalling and re-installing Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. InDesign won't install at all but it doesn't give me an error code, it just says "Installation Error."

    Is this about internet shortcuts on the desktop or bookmarks on the Bookmarks Toolbar?

  • 4 Adobe programs keep crashing

    I contacted Adobe earlier concerning 4 Adobe programs that keep crashing.  The tech said the programs are missing fonts and I needed to install fonts that are used for CC.  I don't have CC and not interested in owning it.  Will the CC font files work with the CS6 version?

    Hi Mylenium,
    Thanks for the reply.  The applications that keep crashing is Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and Premiere Pro.  Here is a snapshot of one of the error messages that keep popping up.

  • Adobe programs keep "quitting unexpectedly"

    I had my operating system on my mac reinstalled due to corruption issues. After going through the time machine and getting my computer up and running again, none of my adobe programs will open. When you click on them, the logo doesn't show up completely and it "quits unexpectedly". I need these programs for work and I have updated my software. Do I need to reinstall all my adobe programs or is there a simpler solution?

    After going through the time machine
    I have read other messages with the same problem... yes, you need to uninstall, run the cleaner, and reinstall
