My Adobe programs keep reverting back to CC instead of 2014. I have tried restarting my computer as well as uninstalling and re-installing Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. InDesign won't install at all but it doesn't give me an error code, it just says "Installation Error."

Is this about internet shortcuts on the desktop or bookmarks on the Bookmarks Toolbar?

Alpha Channel Settings keep reverting back to "Ignore"

Hey All,
Just diving into FCPX and I had a question about the alpha channel. After finding the Alpha setting in the inspector, I switched to it premultiply. However, upon clicking out of it, the inspector reverts back to "ignore alpha." It does this whether I change the clip in teh Project or the Library. The title animation I'm using was exported from after effects with the animation preset.
Is there a reason why it keeps reverting back to the ignore alpha setting?

There had been a reset method in prior models of PPC powerbooks, etc
that worked by putting your palm/hand flat over the trackpad for a few
seconds, then moving it one direction in one pass. However, that seems
to not be suggested in remedies to resolve Intel-based trackpad issues.
Hopefully the SMC reset will help.

Do you mean that all changes you made to your files are lost, or do you mean that changes to your preferences are lost? For example, pick any small file, make a copy of it, and put the copy on your Desktop. After rebooting, is the copy still there?

Changing "Reel" number keeps reverting back to old number.

I have a situation where I changed the reel number on about 75 tapes that I have. After changing the #'s, I noticed that about 65 of the changes kept and about 10 keep reverting back to what they were before I changed them. Any ideas on why this is happening? As an example, I had the tapes numbered as: 1001, 1002, 1003, etc but decided to be more specific with my tape labeling and changed them all to HT1_1001, HT1_1002, HT1_1003, etc. All the changes stuck except for a select few. I've even tried dragging the source quicktime file (which is labeled correctly) back into the project...to no avail.

I don't think I would have thought of that, assuming your capture scratch was all on one drive. Thanks for posting your solution, hardly anyone ever does that around here.

Jgreg14 you have my sympathies. 36 hours ago while using my iPad I was told that my Apple ID had been disabled. Like you I went to the forums, reset my password, and also like you, nothing changed. I have contacted iTunes support and after 24 hours they responded with this:

Adobe X Installed- Reverts Back to Missing 7.0.9 installation files

Hi Everyone,
When Adobe X was released, I installed the update. Now, when I try to open PDFs, a window appears prompting me to select a program in which to open the PDF, none of which work. I tried to uninstall X and reinstall it; however, now a window appears indicating that I need to select a location from where the Adobe 7.0.9 installation package was saved to (which is typically on my C drive). The 7.0.9 installation package disappeared from my computer when X was installed. I also tried to install versions 8 and 9 of Adobe, however, error messages also appeared reverting back to the 7.0.9 installation package. The answer to my problem appears to be reinstalling the earlier version, or the "foundation" for updated versions.
The system restore feature on my computer dates back only a couple of months, and has been no help. I have also tried to locate the 7.0.9 or 7.0.0 versions for installation on the internet and the Adobe website, with no luck. Does anyone have any suggestions? I absolutely need Adobe to open PDFs when I start my MBA program in a couple of months. Using the "quick view" for PDFs is okay, but not ideal.

You could try using the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility to remove all traces of any existing versions of Reader previous to installing the version you want. This utility is no longer supported by Microsoft because it can conflict with Win 7, but you can still find it in sites like http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459

Why does my upgraded version of FF keep reverting back to an older version?

For the past month, I have repeatedly installed FF ver. 3.6.19. It takes and everything is fine when the window is initially open. As soon as I close out of FF and open it back up again, it reverts back to 3.6.15. This happens when I close out the window or I restart my computer. I have uninstalled FF about 4 times now and just installed 3.6.19 but it keeps reverting to 3.6.15. However, in the Control Panel, under Uninstall Programs, it is listed as 3.6.19.
I also frequently get a pop box that tells me to upgrade to 3.6.18. I click ok but it just keeps "scanning" and no update ever takes place.
This problem actually started when I upgraded to FF ver. 5. I had version 5 on my computer for a few days and then it somehow downgraded itself to 3.6.15. I have not be able to successfully upgrade FF since then.

I don't know what "popup" you're referring to. Do you mean the Control Center? If so, you can turn off that feature appearing in your apps in Settings - Control Center. I also don't know what you mean by "where did the dictionary go". Can you explain your problem more completely?
As to downgrading, that is not supported. If you are unhappy with features in iOS 7, you can comment to Apple via their feedback pages:

4 Adobe programs keep crashing

I contacted Adobe earlier concerning 4 Adobe programs that keep crashing. The tech said the programs are missing fonts and I needed to install fonts that are used for CC. I don't have CC and not interested in owning it. Will the CC font files work with the CS6 version?

Sorting keeps reverting back

Hi guys
I'm quite particularly about how I catalogue my music on iTunes so I always edit the song Info tab and use the Sorting tab's function, but it keeps reverting itself back.
First of all the edits made to a song's Info will revert to whatever it was downloaded as and sync this incorrect details to my iPod without me realising, this is quite easily sorted by going to a song's Info and it will just revert on it's own, I can easily work my way through all the songs by clicking on Next repeatedly. It's still a bit annoying though.
This also affects what's under the Sorting tab, reverted back to the details that came with the file when I downloaded it. Unlike the changes made to the Info tab this doesn't undo itself by opening the Get Info screen - I have to work through all the songs again.
It does this every few days and is a bit annoying when you're as anal as I am about having this properly catalogued and categorised. Does anyone know why it might it might be reverting it's Info and Sorting details back?

Go to iTunes > Preferences > Store and turn off
Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases
Share details about your library with Apple
On any iOS device go to Settings > Music and turn off
Show All Music
Close and reopen iTunes and/or reset the device and you should see your version of the metadata for each track rather than the original store data.

My browser.newtab.url keeps reverting back when i change it

I want to open all my new tabs as my google homepage but when I alter the browser.newtab.url to www.google.com it reverts back to what it was before every time I close firefox.

When you exit Firefox, your updated preferences should be saved, but there are some possible reasons for this to fail or be ignored. Our support article "[[How to fix preferences that won't save]]" describes how to investigate most of them.

Cannot use Flash player after 10.2, have to keep reverting back to that version or earlier.

I am frustrated. I cannot use any flash versions later than Adobe® Flash® Player Installer/Uninstaller 10.2 r159 . If I update to version 11 or later I cannot watch any flash videos. The audio will play but the video freezes and pauses.
I have been trying to find a solution to this issue, versions 10.2 and earlier work fine but ever since the new flash was released and I have tried to update, I run into the same problem and have to revert back to 10.2 or earlier.
I thought maybe it might have been the video card but I had it replaced and same issue and I have two other notebooks with the same exact hardware but different OS and they are able to use Adobe 11 just fine.
The issue is also present when using Linux (Ubuntu).

I would like if someone could help me with this issue. I am frustrated becasue sites are 'requiring / mandating' that I update to Adobe 11 but if I do so I cannot use part of the site, for example Facebook or Youtube.

That seems to have solved the problem.
Question though, why does turning the hardware acceleration off make the videos play better in high definition? I'm kinda baffled.
My video card driver is nv4_disp.dll , version 6.14.0012.6658, date 1/7/2011
I have tried many different Nvidia drivers trying to solve that issue and even had the video card replaced thinking it was the cause, but had the same problem with a new video card so thought I would try here.
Seems to work for me though now with the lastest version of flash but still I am confused why this is so.
