  • Adobe reader X will not open files on the web

Adobe reader X will not open files on the web.  It works fine on off-line files.

    Hello Ray,
    Please try following steps:
    1. Run the installed Adobe Reader X.
    2. Click on Edit in the menu bar.
    3. Then click on Preferences in the drop down menu list.
    4. Click on the Internet category on the left pane.
    5. Now, make sure that Display PDF in Browser option is checked.
If above steps doesn't work then let me know which Browser you are using, may be we have to do some settings there.

  • Adobe Reader XI will not give me any options to sign my documents

Adobe Reader XI will not give me any options to sign my documents

Are you in a company/enterprise where the installer was customized?  If yes, then your administrator may have disabled the Sign panel feature on the right hand side, however, signing a document should still be available in the Digital Signatures Pane on the left side via  a pop-up menu.

  • Adobe Reader XI will not open MMS Links

I am trying to create a document in PDF format for a client that has an MMS link in it but it will not open from Adobe Reader. I got someone to test it with Adobe Acrobat and it works. If I try to create the document from Adobe Acrobat it doesn't make a difference. I have my default web browser set to Internet Explorer since that is the only web browser that works with this kind of link. (Microsoft Media Services). I can copy and paste the link into Internet Explorer and it will Launch correctly so it is something specific with Adobe Reader.
Any suggestions on how to resolve this.
I am creating the document with Word 2013 and saving it as a PDF ( The Links works fine form Word.)

    Some other things to try...
    Update to Reader version 11.0.5
Can you open Adobe Reader by itself?  If so, try disabling Protected Mode [Edit | Preferences | Security (Enhanced)].
If you cannot open Reader by itself, try to disable Protected Mode in the registry; download, unzip, then run the attached registry script
It could even be a malware issue; see http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/reader-core-dll-error.html

  • Adobe Reader X will not work.

I have downloaded and installed Adobe Reader X (10.1.4) to my new HP computer, running Windows 7 (64), several times.  Each time it appears to have successfullly downloaded and installed.  However, when I try to use it I get "Adobe Reader has stopped working", then "Windows is checking for a solution to the problem", then NOTHING.  What's wrong?

Try running the Acrobat/Reader cleanup tool, then re-installing.

  • Adobe reader x will not let me save pdfs

i am a student so i need to save a lot of pdfs from databases like jstor. for some reason, adobe reader x will only allow me to save 1 pdf, after which if i click the save button on the next pdf i open nothing will happen. after a seemingly random period of time i am then able to save another pdf. this is terribly annoying, i need a fix. anyone know whats going on here?
after fiddling around a little bit, i find that if i "reset toolbars" it lets me save consecutively. this is still very annoying.

I have spent two days at ti, but have finally resolved it myself. I deleted my Adobe Reader and installed an older version, and the problem disappeared. By the way, I also tried AR11, but the probelm was there too.

  • Adobe Reader 9 will not install reporting installatiom package could not be opened

I have WIN XP PRO with SP3. This is a new machine and is running beautifully except Adobe Reader 8 or 9 will not install.
At about 94% done the Adobe Download manager stops and shows the following Windows Installer message
The installation package could not be opened. Verify that the package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer Package.
Of course when I click OK. I get the message from the downloader that "Installation operation completed successfully". Which of course is not true.
Can any one explain what is happening, and how I should address?

Thanks for the help. Your solution to unregister and register msiexec did not resolve the problem, but it got me thinking and I continued looking down this line of thought through the Microsoft KB articles. There I found a comment per security rights authorization. I had been using an account with administrator rights, but I tried again using the actual administrator account. This worked fine. Adobe 9 is installed and running.

  • Adobe reader 9 will not open in a IE browser window in windows 7 and Server 2003

In short, I think their products do not work very well.  I'm not surprised Steve Jobs will not allow Flash on his products and I am not a Mac fan.  Every computer I've installed Reader 9 on has had problems opening a pdf in a browser window.  I've tried this on various versions of Windows with the same results.  To fix it I had to install Reader 8.  This is not a solution.

I've got the same problem. I'll look forward to solving this on this thread.
It really sucks- I have a ton of pdf files, and can't save them to Documents or send them out of the Adobe file.

  • Adobe Reader X - will not open PDFs

When I double click PDFs - they do not open.  I have Win 7, 64-Bit.  I can open my Reader X program (ver.10.1.3).
I also have Adobe Acrobat X Pro installed on this PC - which now will not open at all - it was working previously.
If I right click a PDF file in explorer, I can select 'Open with Adobe Reader X' and it will open the PDF.
But if a PDF is attached to an email - I cannot double click to open it, the only way is to save it & right click it - a real pain!
Anyone seen this issue and solved it?
    Thanks for any help...!

    OK - probloem now solved:
I uninstalled Reader X and Acrobat X Pro.
    Rebooted PC,
    Re-installed my Acrobat X Pro.
And now I ma back to normal - can click on PDFs & they open - hurray!!
Simple - I should have done this a couple of days ago.  But with so many listings saying it didn't work for them I didn't go that route...
Glad I changed my mind & gave it a go now.

  • Adobe reader 9 will not install

    Hi all
I need some help, I run a Vista 32 bit PC, Adobe updater has tried to update the reader from version 8.1.2 to 9, it downloads new files successfully, activates the installer almost completes to 99.9% then stops with an error! See the alert box message given below.
The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable.
Or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package AcroRead.msi
When I close this error box I get another message saying there was an error 1714 older version of adobe 9 could not be removed.
Likewise there is a copy of adobe 8.1.2 which I am unable to uninstall from the control panel programs and features any help to this solution would be much appreciated.
    Thanks James

    Hello:
I have had trouble upgrading Adobe Reader 8.1 for many days.
So, I had never deleted previous releases (i.e Release 6/7 or versions either) so I went back and removed all Adobe Reader releases through the Control Panel.
I attempted to load Adobe Reader 8.1.2 and received the following message: Error 1316. A Network error occurred while attempting to read from the file: C:\Windows\Installer\Rdr60ENU.msi
The system backed out all changes and now I am without any Adobe Reader. I do not know what to do as I could not find this error message in the Knowledgebase Search database.
    Please advise
