My airport express can't use airplay

i use macbook pro and try to use airplay via airport express but them said error -15006

I am familiar with using airplay. Thanks for trying though.
I should add that with a USB wireless dongle, I'm able to use airplay from the desktop, but when I use the Airport Express unit to join the network, no Airplay targets are visible.
I don't want to go back to using the dongle, as it means noticably slower internet speeds. Surely an Apple branded network device is no worse when using Apple Airplay than a third party dongle?

  • Airport Express: can I use it as a repeater fo amplify my AT

can I use an Airport Express as a repeater fo amplify my AT&T 2WIRE wireless signal?
I Am running several wireless cameras in my home but the signal from router is too weak to provide
    a reliable connection.
CAn the Airport Express be set to amplify the ÀT& T wireless signal? Or will it only work with the wireless from my Mac❓

can I use an Airport Express as a repeater fo amplify my AT&T 2WIRE wireless signal?
Yes, if you establish a permanent wired Ethernet cable connection from your ATT router to the AirPort Express. Ethernet cable can be run up to 330 feet or about 100 meters with virtually no loss, so you should be able to locate the AirPort Express just about anywhere it might be needed.
No, if you cannot establish a permanent wired Ethernet cable connection from your ATT router to the AirPort Express using Ethernet cabling or power line adapters.

  • I have an Apple TV and an Airport Express, can I use these to stream all audio from either my iPhone or my MacBook Pro, including Pandora?

I have purchased an Apple TV and an Airport Express as a gift for a loved one and was under the impression that these two would not only allow for movies, videos etc would be streamed to the TV from my MacBook Pro, but also set up Airport Express with speakers and stream music from my laptop or iPhone.  Is there a way for all music, including Pandora, to be streamed through the Airport Express?  I can only figure out how it works with iTunes, not Pandora.
    Thanks for the help!!!

You might want to take a look at Airfoil for Mac to be able to stream any audio source on your Mac.

  • Does Airport express can be used for other non-apple products, such as lenovo laptop?

Can someone plesase help me? I am so confuse on the apple products?

Its a wireless router - NOT a modem - You need to subscribe with an Internet Service Provider (ISP) operating in your domain (Country).
You normally pay the ISP monthly for Internet access and many/most will supply you with a modem as part of the package.
Most ISPs deliver the Internet access down your existing fixed telephone line - this is either ADSL or DSL and its very common for the ISP modem device to incorporate built on Wifi functionality.
This means you do not need to buy an Airport Express/Extreme at all.
Caveat the "free" modem/routers are frequently prior models and almost always require firmware updates for optimum performance.
However if your chosen ISP delivers your Internet access over fibre cable these companies usually provide a simple modem and to provide the wireless routing an Airport Express may be ideal

  • Itunes won't connect to my airport express (trying to use airplay)

    hello
i configured my airport express to connect to another wi-fi device (netgear wi-fi modem), and apparently it does (since the green light is on and it shows the link in the airport utility).
the airplay logo is showing in itunes, so when i click on it to send the music on the bose, it just tries to connect to the airport but it won't.
not sure what to do to resolve this issue.
airplay option is on in the airport configuration.
the only thing i noticed is that it automatically sets up to connect to the other device, but when i change it to "extend network" mode, the utility just stops recognizing the airport.
the wi-fi modem is not an apple product (netgear).
    thanks for your help!

  • How Many AirPort Expresses can you use with BaseStatio to Exended Coverage?

I have the airport Extreme N Base station and have one airport N Express hooked up to get better coverage...
can I hook up more than 1 express to make a bigger coverage area on my property?
    Thanks

can I hook up more than 1 express to make a bigger coverage area on my property?
Yes, but you cannot connect the additional 802.11n base stations in series to extend the range as the 802.11n "extend" feature does not support relays like in a 802.11g WDS.

  • If i have a home full of Apple TV's and Airport Express' can i  airplay music in every room at the same time?

If i have a home full of Apple TV's and Airport Express' can i  airplay music in every room at the same time?
Or just one device(room) at a time?
It seems there is a lot of home theater systems where they all hook up to one "control" and then disperse to the different locations per instructions..
Is this possible with all apple products?

From iTunes using Multiple Speakers (you can control with the Remote app on iPhone/iPad too), but not from AppleTV itself.

  • Can I share my internet with my Ipad and simultaneously connect to a airport express that I use to remotely connect speakers?

Can I share my internet from my Imac with my Ipad and simultaneously connect to a airport express that I use to remotely to connect speakers?
The big problem that I'm having is that when internet sharing via the airport I can not simultaneously connect with my airport express.  It would be great to be able to share internet from my Imac so I can be using my Ipad and at the sametime have my wife use the airport express to stream music in a different room. It would be awesome to be able to have the ability to do both. Does anybody know how?

How many airport express can I add to my network for the purpose of using the airport express to send audio signal to different rooms in the house? I'm interested I'm running about six different zones.
What I'm looking to do is to have self powered in ceiling speakers in every room in my house with out having to run wires to every room to carry the audio signal. I would like to use the airport express to do the job of carting the audio signal.
Here's my set up now I have an airport extreme and one airport express that I use to carry audio to one room.

FWIW. I have used up to four AirPort Express Base Stations (AX) for streaming sucessfully in pretty much the way you have described. I didn't have a need to try more so I can't attest that more would or would not work.

  • While using the airport express can I listen to music streaming from the Internet?

While using the airport express can I listen to music streaming from the Internet?

The music must be in your iTunes library.
Or, you can try to add a special application like Airfoil that may allow you to stream any audio signal on your computer to the AirPort Express. It might work.

  • Can I link a chain of airport express devices to use as wifi extenders?

    Hi all,
At work we have a large warehouse, office at one end, offices at the other end and warehousing in the middle (to keep things simple) .  I would like one single wifi network for the whole building so I can link up Filemaker to iPads, iPhones, Macbooks etc.  I have bought two Airport Express devices and put them at two ends of the building but they don't reach each other so I've temporarily set up two wifi networks.  I will need a 3rd, maybe even 4th Airport Express.
    My question is this:
Can I form a chain of airport express devices to use as wifi repeaters from the first?  i.e. Can a repeated wifi signal be repeated again?
Or in other words... say I have 4 airport express devices (A, B, C, D) and only A is linked to the network with a cable...B repeats the signal from A. (A is out of reach of C and D).  B repeats the wifi signal from A to C...C repeats the wifi signal to D...will this work/is it possible?
    Thanks!
p.s. hopefully I haven't confused you too much

Hi - Tesserax is right - you can't do this wirelessly but I notice that you say that you have temporarily set up two wi-fi networks - does this mean that you have access to ethernet connections - if you do and the distances aren't too long, then you can do it by placing wired base stations where their wi-fi would overlap - you would then set up each to create a wireless network with the same name, password and security type - and as long as they are on the same subnet, you would have a roaming network so that clients can move from one "zone" to the next without having to re-connect - I have 2 parallel networks using 8 Extremes and 2 Expresses connecting 3 hangars and 3 offices and it works great.

  • Apple TV 3rd Gen no longer sees Airport Express 1st gen in Airplay after update

Apple TV 3rd gen was connected to AirPort Express 1st gen via WiFi, drove a video device via HDMI
and sent audio to the AirPort using Airplay and selecting the AirPort Express under Speakers.
I could adjust the volume with the AppleTV remote.
Apple TV was stored unused for a while.
After powering on yesterday, I ran the update.
Now Apple TV is connected to the Airport Express via WiFi
but Airport Express doesn't show in AirPlay settings.
I can still use AirPlay from my MacBook running Snow Leopard.
There are no updates available for the AirPort

Try the following steps, check whether things are working after each step where appropriate, before trying the next.
Check AirPlay is turned on on the Apple TV (turn it off and on if it already is)
Check that both devices are on the same network (Settings > Wifi, on the mobile device and Settings > General > Network, on the Apple TV).
Restart the Apple TV (Settings > General > Restart).
Restart the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds.
Restart your router. (Also try removing it’s power cord for at least 30 seconds)
    Restart your mobile device.
