My airport is active but cannot be found by my MAC devices?

Hi there, I have the following issue. My airport express is active and found by my router. It also shows a green light. Unfortunately all of my MAC devices can't find it. The airport config utility indicates that the airport device can't be found. Is there someone who has an idea. I am still using IPv4 by the way.

You don't want a WEP based network. Those are easily cracked. If your network is WEP, it may have already been cracked, and someone changed the password. Change it to WPA2. If you are stuck with an 802.11b device on the network, hook it up via ethernet based 802.11g or better wireless/ethernet router.

But you're always restricted to a maximum of two activations at any time.

Airport Working but Cannot Be Found

My Airport signal strength is great and I connect to the Internet just fine with my Powerbook. But Airport Admin Utility can't find it! Even upon ReScan, nothing. I'm trying to reconfigure my settings to Bridge Mode, which is requested by my iBook for PPPoE. How is it possible for the Airport to be working great but not be found?

I worked on this and re-configured the Airport after a hard reset and I figure this will be the correct solution, although my DSL modem, even after re-setting, still grabs onto my Powerbook and not the Airport [note - the Airport distributed IP addresses fine when I used to use dialup. After switching to DSL, I THOUGHT it was doing the same. Only after I tried connecting my iBook wirelessly did I realize, eventually, that the DSL modem is delivering its IP address through the base station and directly to the PB, and not TO the base station. It may be using Hardware Access Provisioning, and may require a manual entry of the Airport's ID. I've asked the ISP for clarification. If not, I may just need to hard reset and reconfigure again [and again?] until this works.

TS1389 I have a missing song on a previously purchased album. It is listed on my itunes library, but cannot be found anywhere on my computer. The rest of the album is fine. How do I re-download it when it thinks I already have?

I bought an album in 2010. As far as I knew it was complete, but now it shows a ! next to one song on my iTunes library. When I sync, the song "cannot be found". The album is still available in the store.

Whether you can redownload music depends upon what country that you are in, it can't be done in all countries. What you can redownload will show via the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes
If music shows there but that tracks doesn't have the cloud symbol against it for redownloading, then delete it from the Music part of your library (where you are getting the 'unable to locate' message) and it should then get the cloud symbol against it for redownloading.
If you aren't in a country where music can be redownloaded then you don't have a copy of it anywhere e.g. on an iPod or your backup of your downloads/library ?

2.0 complete and activated but cannot sync

I guess put me in the dumb and dumber category. . .really should have waited!
My phone is working and is 2.0, but I am unable to sync. When doing the restore I get "An error has occurred while restoring this iPhone (-36). All my notes, contacts, texts are there, but no music, movies or ringtones. I then try to sync and get "The iPhone cannot be synced the required file cannot be found.
Any questions, comments, thoughts or help????

I have a similar issue. I updated the other day, and now I can't even get my iPhone to appear in iTunes. I get the spinning beach ball of death.
When I unplug the phone, I get a message that says "the disk cannot read or written to" -- over top of the iPhone setup page with all the tabs. Rebooted the phone a couple times, nothing. Phone works fine, just can't get it onto iTunes to load my apps.
Works fine with iPhoto, though. BTW, how do I tell my system to stop booting iPhoto when I connect the phone? I'd prefer it started iTunes.
Why oh why do I ever load updates.... You'd think I'd learn.....

Airport is connected but cannot open internet browser??

excuse my stupidity if this is an easy one.... novice!!
i mainly use ethernet cable to connect to the internet but when Im out and about or at home when i try to connect to the internet via wirless the status shows that it is connected via airport but when i try and surf the net it states that it cannot find a server. i have tried all sorts of things but cannot seem to work it out. even if the signal is full i cannot access the internet at all.
if any one can help me this would be greatly appreciated.

hi, i tried to connect at my parents house , they have a wireless router (not sure of the make) which is on virgin and it said that i was connected to the wireless network they have but i still could not access the internet. I also tried it on virgin trains wireless network and the same happened, said i was connected with full signal but still no internet access. Im sure there is a really simple answer to this!!

Finally activated but cannot sync...

After trying 3 hours finally phone is activated, but...
it doesn't sync with itune.
It just give the same screen before 'accessing itune store' and nothing show up under iphone category in itune except "iphone".
Anyone have this sympton?

The folder itunes cannot be found or created - mac os x user

I am a die-hard OS X user and have been without my iTunes for over a month now. I continue to get "the folder itunes cannot be found or created." I've read the posts here and see that PC users have a utility that will work for them, but us OS X users are sort of left out in the cold.
Please help. I've deleted my iTunes folder and there is currently nothing in there. When I launch iTunes, I get the same message. When I create the folder it's looking for and try to launch iTunes it still give mes the same message. i'm stumped. Please help.

our techniques for dealing with that message involve adjusting special properties on folders in the registry ... and i don't know how that ends up translating into the Mac OS and UI.

"Share cannot be found" Help needed MAC to WIN XP

I have a MBP and I am attempting to connect to a Win XP Desktop with a external USB hard drive attached. I can access through finder ANY share on ANY internal hard drive on the XP computer no problem. I can SEE any share I create on the USB hard drive pop up in finder. When I go to access the share on the external USB I get an error saying "The operation cannot be completed because the original item for [sharename] cannot be found." Once again any share that is on a internal harddrive is fully accessable. I have no issues accessing any mac shares from XP. JUST no access on the mac from the USB HD... Any Solutions? Ideas? Chants? Sacred Dances? I almost want to throw the MBP out the window... Did I mention it used to work fine before I upgraded to leopard?

Airport is green, but not being found..

ok so i have had my airport express for a couple of years now, with no problems. i have just come back from holiday where prior to this i unplugged my station and modem etc to save power, and to try and be abit greener to the planet.
however i wish i hadnt because now my computer won find the airport station. the internet is definitely working because i tried plugging it directly from the modem to my computer and it works. also my computer is picking up about 5 other nearby wireless networks.
i have since done a factory reset and my computer found the reset airport and i renamed it and set it up again, but as it was restarting the computer lost it once more.
the green light is on, but my computer does not see the airport in itunes, the wireless bit at the top of the computer screen, nor does it find the station on airport utility anymore
does anyone know what is going on, as im pretty stumped by all this.
any hel would be very appreciated.

I have exactly the same problem. Extremely annoying. Before, I could fix it by re-installing Bonjour after each iTunes-upgrade. But after version 10, that doesn't work any more. Or rather, I can see the AX in Airport Utilities, but it doesn't show up in iTunes. (Weird thing is, it works fine on my other computer, both run Windows Vista).
I guess one answer would be to roll back to an earlier version of iTunes?
Is Apple aware of this issue? It must be a bug in Bonjour. It's been around a long time now. Please fix it!

Missing files cannot be imported and show as dupes. Phantom directory claims to have them, but cannot be found in catalog or HD

I have 191 files in a known HD folder. The light room catalog declares them all missing. If I attempt to copy as DNG with the don't import suspected files checked off, all of them gray out.
However, if the don't import suspected dupes box is not checked, they will import.
Except : they will not go the destination of my choice, that is, the same folder in which the reside on the hard drive, 2014_09_06, but a subdirectory of the folder of my choice, also called 2014_09_06, with a checked box next to it indicating 191 files. If i leave that box checked, I can import. If I uncheck it everything appears to be a dupe, even if the don't import suspected dupes box is not checked.
Nowhere in the catalog nor the hard drive is this phantom subdirectory to be found. Remember: when checked, it appears to have 191 files in it, but i have to be on the parent folder to see that. And even showing it has the right number of files it will let me import them, which may create actual dupes, and dupes of dupes. When unchecked the folder it appears to have no files but my ability to import is stymied. Neither of these conditions relate to the dont import suspected dupes, which is unchecked under both sets of circumstances.
Final clues: the import sub-folder icon has a plus sign on it, and I cannot click on this folder on import screen, only on the parent folder of the same name. In the library few, this subdirectory, I can click on the parent, I see 191 files, but they all have an exclamation mark indicating they are missing.

Yer basically right, and because I couldn't stand it any longer I went into the trash or the back up. or both, and got the one set of non duped imported dng, and the set of cr2 all of whose names had been altered to match, and put them in the appropriate folder on the HD. And like magic, the dreaded exclamation point on every single picture in that folder in the catalog vanished, poof. Some minor developing i did on one file is gone, but the tags remain. So I'll live with this for a while [certainly too soon to claim victory over LR] and hope that these problems, which were restricted to these 191 shots in 1 folder, never darken my door again.
