My airport suddenly is missing

I haven't had any issues lately besides a some dropped signals for a few seconds iwth my older airport (UFO style). That is until tonight. On a rampage my cats knocked it off the shelf (this has happened in the past) and a restart of computer and airport solves it. However, not tonight. I can connect fine directly with the ethernet cable to the macbook pro, but my mbp cannot find my airport. Reset after reset after shut down. Help! I ran an update and and still nothing.
Did my cats kill the Airport once and for all?

Your cat's probably knocked something loose inside.
I would open it up and see if you can fix it yourself. Best resource for fixing it is here, .

  • Has anyone else encountered a situation where images suddenly gone missing?

i've had files suddenly gone missing on me several times. i was so sure that this might be a bug but now i think it's user error. at least my error.
a few times i wanted to delete one image and then found that several other images disappeared on me. here i realize that i forgot to deselect all of the other images before deleting the one image i intend to delete.
another time for some unexplained reason, so it seemed, several images disappeared on me. poof! i couldn't find them anywhere, but i didn't think to look in the Rejected library. later on i realize that i've pressed the zero key by mistake while the images were selected. the zero key rejects the images and placed them in the Rejected library. i've found some of my missing images in this library. phew!
for those of you who have some missing images, and haven't taken a look inside your Rejected library, take a look and maybe you'll find some of your missing images in there.

You might just need to clear your search by selecting
the "x" in the search field.
Not quite the same as going into the search field and changing the rating slider and selection to show only deleted as by just clearing the search field does not change the slider rating and you'll still not see the rejected files.

Firstly, I see you are running Mac OS X 10.4.11, this means you are using a PowerPC based computer and this in turn means you can no longer get and run the latest versions of the Flash player as Adobe have discontinued support for PowerPC computers. Saying that, the last PowerPC version which is 10.1 should still be good enough for most websites.
Secondly, a popular method for attacking computers and tricking people into intalling malware (trojans) is via a fake Flash player update, so do not install an update from any website other than the genuine Adobe website.
The old (discontinued) 10.1 version can be downloaded from this page http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/142/tn_14266.html you need to download the 10.1 version which in this case will include Mac, Windows, etc. versions all in the same zip file.

  • My airport suddenly shut down. Can someone help?

My airport suddenly shut off. I unplugged and restarted a few times. I got a green light for half a second than nothing. Has anyone experienced this? Does know how to troubleshoot? Is it possible it just died and there is no fix?  thank you for your help

What model are you talking about.. Actual A1xxx gives the info in the least characters with exact accuracy.
If it has external power supply then it can be that.. and that is replacement part easily available..
If it is internal power supply then it is dead.. check your warranty or apple care which could cover it from a covered computer for up to 3years.

  • Airport suddenly needs to be rebooted every day

I have a client with an AirPort Extreme. He has been using it for several
years without a problem. Suddenly EVERY day (definitely when he wakes up in
the morning and sometimes at other points in the day - as far as I can tell
when the computer is idle) the status light blinks yellow.
When this happens he looses the wireless connection. If I plug an ethernet
cable into the AirPort it shows up under the AirPort Admin Utility, but is
unable to read the configuration to determine what the AP is unhappy about.
A simple power cycle fixes the problem.
I first thought it might be a problem with the AP so I replaced it with a
new one (having the latest firmware).
    Same problem.
I have since replaced all ethernet cables and the Time Warner Road Runner
    cable modem. Same problem.
I even tried a LinkSys router in front of the AP and put the AP in bridge
    mode, but no joy.
    A few other points:
If I sleep the MacBook I CAN NOT get the problem to happen (I am only
    waiting max 10 min)
We "coincidentally" replaced his 3 year old MacBook with a new one (with OS
10.61) a few days before this problem started. I cant see how this could be
the problem as it happens when the computer is sleeping and the fix is to
reboot the AP not the computer, but the timing is awfully suspicious.
I dont know what else to try. Any ideas?
    Thanks

If both devices are producing a wireless network, there is an increased chance of wireless interference between them, especiallyi if they are located in the same room. If you normally only one use one wireless network, it would make sense to turn the other one off.

  • Airport Suddenly stopped working!

    Hi there,
I am hoping someone will have had the same problem as me. I have been using Airport express with no problems for 7 months from my Netgear DSL ethernet modem.
Then suddenly last sunday it stopped working. I have full signal strength and it was assigned an IP of 10.0.1.2 but when i open safari it thinks about it for 5 mins then tells me im not connected. I have performed hard and soft reboots of both router and extreme and nothing has changed, i have even used another router (BT Voyager 210) and experience the same problem.
Its like im connected but not getting any TCP/IP traffic? Anything that anyone knows that can help would be very welcome indeed
    Thanks in advance
    Dave

Have you tried unplugging power for 10 seconds? I need to do this sometimes daily on one of our Airports.

  • Photoshop, doc suddenly goes missing

when i click on it. I'm learning this on my own and probably have some silly settings on. I have the right layer selected click on the doc to cut it to size or make a square on it by dragging the square tool to shape, the doc suddenly disappear. It seem to change shape and move to middle of a VERY big work area. I can't see what I did on it anymore. Shapes seems to be blurry.
I have probably just clicked on a wrong setting or something. I just downloaded CS6 Cloud, I had CS5 from before. It may be some default settings I wasn't aware of.

    Which Photoshop version?
    Which OS version?
What do you mean by "missing"?
Have you updated your video card driver from the GPU maker's website?
Have you tried disabling or turning down the GPU settings?

  • Suddenly getting "Missing Plug-Ins" errors when opening .indd files in InDesign CS2

I have a PC running Windows 7 and InDesign CS2. The laptop's installation of Windows was corrupted and I had to re-install the OS. I backed up all files, reinstalled the OS, and then reinstalled applications. One of those applications was InDesign CS2. However, after the installation of CS2 on the fresh copy of Windows, I noticed that I have trouble opening most, but not all, of the InDesign files on my hard drive.
When I try to open a .indd file I see an error message pop up that says "Missing Plug-ins. LILO.APLN, DYNAMICDOCUMENTS.RPLN, CONDITIONALTEXT.RPLN" and three more. Under that list of missing plugins is the warning "This document uses one or more plug-ins which are not currently available on your system. Do you want to open anyway?"  If I click "okay" I then am met with another dialog box that says "Cannot open file. TEXT.RPLN, LAYER.RPLN" and on and on for about 60 more items.
I KNOW WHAT YOU'RE THINKING! I've searched around concerning this issue and it appears the consensus is that the file was opened by a newer version of InDesign. That possibility is, in fact, an impossibility. Never have I used a newer version of InDesign. The files that I am working on were backed up, stored on local storage and not touched once before reinstalling the OS and reinstalling InDesign CS2.
I also noticed that not all InDesign file formats were associated with InDesign in "Windows Programs and Defaults." I changed those to look to InDesign. I've also uninstalled InDesign CS2 and re-installed.
Not all InDesign CS2 files are exhibiting this behavior. So far, it appears more than half are, but some can be opened with no problems. There seems to be no correlation between which ones are able to be opened and which ones can't be opened.
What could have happened to these files and is there any possibility of opened them again? Any guidance is greatly appreciated.

Conditional Text was a new feature in CS4. I'm thinking, can you explain how your old CS2 documents became aware of it?
    Not exactly sure myself. Abiogenesis?
    [Edit]
Almost forgot. I wrote a script to unequivocally determine the InDesign version a document was last saved as:
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/4071273
I'll give that a try today. Even an affirmative judgement that the files are newer than CS2 would not impress me however. The fact remains, the files were copied off one hard drive over to another, the plug was pulled on the hard drive, the PC was re-imaged, CS2 was reinstalled, the files were copied back over... and whammo.

  • Airport suddenly quit working

cant get airport to work ----  Used to work properly

Not a lot of information to go on, but I would start by performing a "factory default" reset on your AirPort Extreme to see if you can establish basic communications with it again.

  • Airport suddenly loses connection

    Hello!
So, I've been having this strange issue with my airport since last night. I've read up on some of the issues and I've tried a bunch of fixes, but nothing seems to work.
I'm using a new macbook I bought in January, running OS X 10.6.2
Last night after my macbook goes to sleep, I wake it back up and find that for some reason, I cannot connect to the internet. My airport icon at the top right of the screen has a little exclamation mark on it, and I go under system diagnostics to try and fix it. I've been using the same router for the last two months, and haven't had it crap out on me, and I didn't download anything new, so I don't know exactly what caused it to stop working. Also, my girlfriend was able to connect to it no problem on her PC, so I know it's a problem with my airport, and not the router.
On top of that strangeness, I can actually connect to ANY other wifi service I find (which is how I'm actually posting this). On top of that, if I take the cable and connect it to the computer, I can use the internet fine (but cables are lame and I don't want to do that).
I've tried deleting all my networks saved under system preferences, but that didn't work. I've rebooted, turned airport on and off, still nothing.
I went under system diagnostics to try and fix it. I follow the instructions (I use DHCP to connect), turn the router on and off, and on the side I get green lights under Airport, Airport settings and ISP, but I get a yellow light under Network Settings. So I open up network settings and I have a yellow light beside airport and under it it says "Self-Assaigned IP," which makes no sense because under TCP/IP I have "Configure IP" set to "using DHCP."
I have the latest updates and everything, so I have no idea what caused this mess. Anyone have any ideas?

No, I haven't, but it it's a fairly simple router, and it doesn't look like it has any extra channels. Plus, because I'm in Korea, all the writing on it is in Korean. But there are no extra switches or anything like that, so... I don't know exactly how I would go about changing the router channels.

  • Airport Card drivers missing WIndows XP professionnal 32bit bootcamp

Hi, I'm employee in a Apple Official resseller store and a customer bought an Imac 21.5 Late 2009 (duo 3.06) and he asked us to install Windows XP professionnal 32 bit (he got his license) on bootcamp. Everything went good, the installation worked perfectly, but when I installed the drivers with the Snow leopard Install disc, the Airport card driver and the Video Composite (VGA) driver didn't installed. we tried everything, we did all the updates possible but still nothing.
Windows in on SP 2 and even by ethernet I can't install the SP 3 (a osloagon.dll error) but the minimum required is SP 2.
I even tried on windows to open the CD and installed every drivers one by one but still nothing.
So I wonder if you guys know where I can find the Drivers. I really don't know what to do, I'm out of options.
    thanks

    Thanks for the info Stefan,
However, I don't think that the Macintosh driver CD will do me any good in this case because I am not planning on running the 32 bit version of Windows XP. I will be installing XP64 tomorrow once my CD arrives in the mail.
I've heard of quite a few people who are currently running XP64 on their Mac Pro's, but I'm also pretty sure that the driver CD created by Boot Camp will only work in Windows XP 32-bit.
If ANYONE knows of a work around for installing macintosh drivers for my super drive and airport extreme, PLEASE let me know, because I will most certainly need to be able to use my wireless card and keyboard (especially for the CD tray)
    Thanks,
    Greg
