My Albums / I-Web 1.1.2

I would like to add more photos to my I-Web page. I have I-Web 1.1.2
I-Web Help states ......"to add more photos, use My Albums Template".......
"If you want to make more than one photo album available on your website, you can use the My Albums template to link to multiple albums on one page. Each album is represented by a photo from the album, which viewers click to view the album.".......
But I cannot find "My Albums Template".
Is it only available with I-Web 3.0?
Is there no way for me to do this with I-Web 1.1.2 ?

I'm surprised iWeb 1.1.2's Help talks about My Albums templates — because that particular template was introduced in iWeb 2.0 in iLife '08. See _this review_ which mentions: +"iWeb '08 brings more Web 2.0 tools (...) a new My Albums page can better organize lots of content..."+

I don't believe so. But maybe someone else here will suggest an alternative approach which doesn't require a My Albums template.

  • Reorder Albums in Web Gallery?

Is there a way to reorder an ALBUM in Web Gallery? In iPhoto you can change how the ALBUMS are ordered/shown (which ones come first). I can't seem to get it to work in Aperture.
Shouldn't Aperture get features before iPhoto?
    thx

Well on top of that, I would like to be able to sort the iPhoto ones I have with the AP2 ones. As it goes now, the AP2 ones go to the top. I wish we could do it using iDisk or something.

  • Arranging albums in Web Gallery

Can I change the order in which albums are arranged on my web gallery?

    flipper64:
Welcome to the Apple Discussions. As Larry pointed out we're stuck with the order that iPhoto gives us, the last published is last in line, i.e. chronological - ascending.
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • IWeb not showing .Mac web gallery albums in Web Widgets pull down menu

I'm trying to update a webpage and insert a .Mac Web gallery album using the Web Widgets pull down menu. The problem is the menu isn't offering/showing ALL of my .Mac Web Gallery albums. It shows some and I can insert those, however, it isn't showing all of them. I've tried refreshing the list in iPhoto, but it still won't show in iWeb '08. I've even given it several days to refresh, but to no avail.
    Any suggestions?

Nice, didn't think of that. I went into iPhoto and, in the Settings, changed it from being only viewable to restricted groups. I opened it up to "Everyone" and, back in iWeb, there it appeared in the Web Widget pull down menu. I then inserted the album and published the web page. I then went back to iPhoto re-instated the restrictions in the Advanced settings.
    Thanks.

  • IPhoto and compression of uploads to iWeb albums and Web Galleries?

It appears it's been established that iPhoto automatically sizes uploads to Web Galleries and iWeb albums to 800x600 no matter the resolution of the original picture.

You can clumsily work around this in Web Gallery by uploading directly through the gallery upload button or via email, as discussed here.

What I'm wondering is whether there's a way to do something similar in an iWeb album? My experience is that even if I do specify the option in the photo inspector to allow Original (Full Quality) downloads from the album, the files are still heavily compressed somewhere along the line, with 2.2MB originals coming back at 650KB or so.
Can anyone shed any light on this?

    Hi.
I don't have iPhoto 08 yet, but had a similar concern in iPhoto 6. I let iWweb do it's thing and then overwrote the images that it produced.
How? I edited the photos to the way I wanted them in Photoshop or Aperture(!) and saved it out to the largest size (800x600, I believe). Then I set up an Automator action to dupe and resize the pictures to the thumbnail size. When done, I moved the files to my iDisk and put em wher they belong.
It's a bit of a hassle, but I got the quality that I wanted...also, not sure if that'll work in 08...

  • Aperture 2.1 only loads 100 images per album to web gallery

The web gallery project on Aperture contains 199 images but only the first 100 loaded. What gives? I've loaded albums before from iPhoto and didn't seem to have this problem, or if I did I never noticed it.
    Thanks,
    Mike T.

Aperture 2.1.4 is unsupported on OS X Mavericks and there are known issues that have been reported here.
I think you can roll back to an older OS X version (Snow Leopard?) or pay the $79.00 to upgrade to Aperture 3.5.1.

  • Exporting albums to web pages

iPhoto had an option under export to 'export-to-web-page'.  From what I can tell, that functionality has been removed in Photos.  Does anyone know how to do that in photos or maybe have a recommended plug-in for the Share menu that would do it instead?  I used that export-to-web-page to make our family blog (along with Dreamweaver) and now it will be more trickier to do.
    Thanks!

Are you saying that you are dropping in 3 photos? Or 3 albums full of photos? Just how many photos? There is a limit of 99 photos per photo template. It won't accept more if you have dragged in more than that.
If you are trying to make fairly automatic photo gallery, have a look at this link...

  • Wrong number of photos listed for an album in Web Gallery

    Howdy,
I've tried resynching my Web Galleries and it hasn't solved this problem. The number of photos listed for any particular Album appears wrong. For example, two albums contain 3 photos, but it says there are "4 photos." One with 14 photos says it has 22, and and another Album with 31 photos says it has 62. I can't think of a mathematical expression that describes the incorrect reporting.
However, the using the mouse to preview the Web Albums shows thumbnails of all of the correct photos, the slider in carosel mode shows the correct position, and everything appears to be working otherwiser perfectly.
    Thanks!

This sounds like a problem that you can recreate by dragging photos to an weg gallery album WHILE the Web Gallery album is syncing to the web - try exporting on of the albums and I suspect you will get the 4 photos - If this is the case, The best way I have found to fix this is to export the photos, delete the web gallery, go to your iDisk (iDisk ==> web ==> sites ==> _gallery) and be sure it is gone (Deleting it there too if necessary) and then recreating the web gallery (you may want to move the photos to a local album for ease of finding them for the new gallery)
Web Galleries still have some issues

  • Can't delete albums from web gallery

How Can I delete an album from my web gallery, when the album icon isn't showing in bottom left side corner of my  iphotos application??
When I upload the same album, it's duplicated next to the one i'm trying to delete. Now, I was able to delete the one I just uploaded, but not the original one.
Can somebody tell me how to solve this one????

Go to Finder/Go/iDisk/My iDisk/Web/Sites folder, open the _gallery folder, and then you can delete what you want.

  • Remove album from Web Gallery (not in Iphoto)

I have a album in my Web Gallery but it's not in my IPhoto. I am trying to remove it from Web Gallery but can not figure out how?

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Go into iPhoto's Preferences/Web Gallery. If the gallery is listed then select it and hit the Stop Publishing button.
If the gallery is not listed then mount your iDisk and go to the iDisk/Sites/Web/_gallery folder. If you have more than one gallery you'll have to look inside each of the gallery folders (they are just numbered and hard identify which is which) to determine which is the gallery you want to delete. When you find it drag it to the trash.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.≤br>
Note: There now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

  • Cannot publish album to web gallery, nor to iweb

today, I tried publishing an album to my web gallery and iphoto "quit unexpectedly" then (after the relaunch), I tried going to preferences, which caused it to quit again. nothing I do seems to resolve this (I've restarted, and have also tried deleting the prefs file - numerous times).
then I tried to send the album to iweb - and iweb "quit unexpectedly" as well. even worse, now iWeb won't even launch! (keep getting the "quit unexpectedly" error. (I've tried deleting the prefs file for iweb and iapps as well, to no avail.)
otherwise, iphoto works fine - it's just when trying to send to iweb, publishing to web gallery, or accessing the preferences that it freezes (and quits).
the last time I tried coordinating these apps (and publishing to my web gallery) was a month ago, and everything worked perfectly. could this be related to a bug in a recent software update?
can anyone help me figure out what's wrong? I'm terribly frustrated...
    thanks!

Thanks for the link, I just installed the update and rebooted. Unfortunately, the problem persists!
iWeb does not launch at all - I get an 'opening' message, then the "quit unexpectedly" error message appears. here's first part of the report:

As for iPhoto, it launches and works okay unless I click "Web Gallery" or try to open Preferences. Here's the error report (similar to the one for iWeb):

Any other ideas? Thank you so much for your help.
(The irony here is that I used DreamWeaver/Photoshop/ftp upoaders to design and publish my previous sites and, as a new mom, thought I'd save time by taking advantage of Apple's seamless (albeit boxed) software to make a simple and easily-updatable photo site for my daughter. This was supposed to make my life easier! )

  • How do you delete photo albums in web gallary?

I have uploaded some photos into web gallery but I didn't do it right so I now want to delete them and reload them. I have not found a way to manage them throught iPhoto or directly through my .mac account. Does any one know how to do this?
    Message was edited by: KJESPOKO

I've found when I delete a gallery from iPhoto, it eventually is reflected in the online gallery. On one occasion this didn't work and I needed to manually delete folders from my iDisk and then delete them from iPhoto.

  • PSE 9 - how to export online album to web?

Hi everyone - I know all the PSE versions from PSE5 on, but version 9 is driving me nuts :-) Most recently I'm struggling with the online albums - where did the option to publish it to a FTP server go? When clicking "share" I only see "Photoshop Showcase", "hard disc" and "CD/DVD" - but none of them is working. An error window tells me that a component is missing and I should try to re-install - which I did repeatedly, but the error continues...
Thanx in advance for any ideas... Gabi from Germany

    Hi, 99jon - I don't see a "other" option, only this:
Whatever I choose, this error follows:
Roughly translated: "An error occured while loading this album template. A help file could be missing or corrupted. Re-install the program to solve the problem". Unfortunatly re-installing does not solve the problem :-(

  • Need help creating multiple albums on web page

I have created a website using the about me template which comes with 3 albums on on the template. It seems that only the first album is hyperlinked to another page but the other two are not. Am I correct or am I doing something wrong. Is there a way to have 3 albums on my about me page that will send the viewer to the album page when they click on it. Any help would be much appreciated.

The problem with the iWeb albums page is that if you put more than about 6 albums with a dozen or so photos in each, it will take forever to download and will have no chance of downloading in IE.
Unless all your viewers use Macs with Safari, forget the Photos and Albums templates and use flash.
A lot of iWeb users seem to be unaware of how dysfunctional an iWeb built site is for PC users.
